621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Small Birthday Gift - Bitcoin on: June 20, 2023, 08:48:16 AM
Long back while having conversation with one of my girlfriend she said she was interested into cryptocurrency. Quite often she used to watch more details on Instagram posts and doesn't have proper knowledge to get into it. Days passed and today it is her birthday. I remembered the conversation and wished her. Already she had Binance, so requested her to send the bitcoin address and send a small amount of 0.0011BTC as birthday gift.

I know it is not good to send gifts to the centralized exchanges. During the conversation she said she is interested to learn about trading and for that purpose she had downloaded Binance. While meeting her in person I will brief her better about the security and need for non custodial wallet.

I've added the conversation that happened through the WhatsApp.

622  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is money ruling the world? on: June 19, 2023, 11:59:19 PM
Why don't we just sit in the home. Have self cultivation, eat, and prepare our own dress, build our own house same as that we see on some YouTube. Why can't we do that, and running here and there to make money. Everything is for money, if one is able to understand it automatically we'll be able to understand why money rules the world.

The desire of human never ends. When he have cycle he needs motorbike. When he had bought it, his mind think of car. This is a process and we're moving to fulfill those things. It requires money and for that reason we're into control of money.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 19, 2023, 11:43:17 PM
~snip~
After impressive batting display by all top order batting line-up, Hasaranga bowled career best bowling spell and give his team thumbing first win of this event which is surely expected because of their experience and quality even mostly are youngsters but doing good job for the future.

All batsmen from top order have their best in this match, and we have four fifties and blitzing inning from Charith Asalanka who smashed 48 on 23 balls which helps Sri Lanka for having target of 355 which was never been easy to chase for the team like the UAE but Hasaranga give them no space and have 6 for 24 which is his career best in ODI and big win for his team of 175 runs.

Absolutely right. It was one of the best performances I have seen recently from Sri Lanka. But I think it does not matter to some extent because it was against the UAE. They will have to prove themselves against bigger and better opponents in the World Cup.

I know that they certainly deserve credit for their performance. But I don’t know if we should be praising them as much as we are for this type of dominating performance against a team like the UAE. Sri Lanka have started well in this tournament. Let’s see if they can continue performing like this in future matches as well.

Already we know that few teams will be having advantage in the qualifier. One is to the Asian countries that have played in similar weather conditions. Next thing with the qualifier, few teams are already termed strong and they getting qualified is not a big thing. Sri Lanka and West Indies were World Cup winners, so they'll surely enter the world cup. These wins were part of the journey.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: June 19, 2023, 10:36:26 PM
This time in the 2026 world cup since we have a country like America hosting it with a much better situation and potential than Qatar I don't think we are going to see the same drama like killing workers from other countries for cheap money to work and build the stadiums.
I the other hand America is a country that hosted the world cup before and I'm sure they know how to host it better than other countries like Qatar.

Mexico also has hosted it before. And it will be the first time for Canada. Although most of the matches are actually going to be played in the US.

It will be a bit tricky to watch all the games as the time difference will change from time to time as there are multiple time zones involved. Hopefully the local times for most people are not too bad.

The real host of the 2026 world cup is America, not Canada or Mexico because most of the games going to be hosted by America and I think two other countries are going to just help America in some games.
That's why I said that about America, however back in 1986 Mexico hosted the world cup but that's more than 35 years ago and everything changed.
Earlier the football playing nations were to host the tournament. In that manner Mexico might've got the opportunity to host FIFA. Now everything have changed completely, and money is more powerful. This we can see with USA hosting majority of the matches. Another reason is with the good oil money on the queue for the 2030 FIFA World Cup hosting.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin become The General Currency in the Future? on: June 19, 2023, 10:01:42 PM
Not an easy task to get accepted as a general currency all around. It all depends on the governments and the governing authorities around the world. Very few countries have the positive move with cryptocurrency usage and other other needs whereas majority of the nations try to have their own CBDC. The financial system have experienced a big evolution, and we can't expect bitcoin to get the status of usage similar to general currency isn't gonna happen.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: June 19, 2023, 09:42:38 PM
Winning a lottery is not an easy thing. There are hard followers of lottery, my choice of lottery depends much on my travel to my nearest state. In my state it is banned, so when I travel through the nearby state I'll just buy one or two. Win out of millions is not a simple thing, you want to be the luckiest or you should have the better plans to buy regularly unlike the win/loss that's been experienced earlier.

People can make a win in Dice, but the same doesn't happen with lottery. Limited number lotteries were there and that gives you better chance of winning than the regular lotteries.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 19, 2023, 05:14:01 PM
The opening partnership is really good for Australia. The big expectation is from Moeen Ali, and with the 57/0 Australia needs another 224 runs to win the match. This is really an easy reachable target, if England have scored same as the first innings then Australia too might've experienced pressure while chasing. Now the pressure is much on England and now the question arises, whether the early declaration on the first innings will cost England loss the first test match of the Ashes.
Australia have lost its first wicket (Warner-36) and the score have reached 70 runs. Labuschagne have joined with Khawaja, few more wickets falling today will pressure Australia. Looking the way Australia is performing, it is really hard England having winning possibility. Early declaration will surely cost them, even 20-30 runs from those wickets will surely increase the chance and makes the target to be 300+ runs which is something considered as a next barrier than the 20 runs difference.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 18, 2023, 11:59:31 PM
Right now match is ended with rain is still going on and no chance for the play which mean from first three days now we already lost two sessions which are surely going to have big impact on this game England's approach to bazball were good, but their flat pitch hurt badly to this match which is surely going to have more decline in interest in they keep things like this because on flat tracks it's never been good and ideal cricket going to create some entertainment for the fans.

Australian done good with the help of Khawaja century, and now they are having two early wickets which are also good advantage for them if they are able to have few early wickets in tomorrow play then surely things could be in their favor because now England is surely going to under pressure after losing two early wickets and tomorrow first session is going to be vital for both teams.
Australia is in better position than England. If the two complete days can be played, this match gonna end in favour of Australia. In the first innings England lost an early wicket and then there is good partnership. This time two early wickets which is a big pressure for England. Pope and Root needs to make good partnership, and Australia will look for wickets at the opening session of the day. Being one among the much expected series in cricket, every result is very important. If England try to score big with the same batting pattern as first innings there are chances of losing wickets soon, because everytime this trick won't work well.

Well, surprisingly, Australia was not able to take the lead which I thought they would. I mean Australia was in a perfect situation to do so. But anyway it was not a big difference. The big thing is England has already lost two wickets trying to get only 28. That is not an ideal start from England. Currently, it is stumps at the end of day three. So still two days to go in this test match. Australia was unable to take a lead but this quick two wickets has put them in a very advantageous position. Right now England needs another innings from Joe Root like he did in the first innings, that is going to steady the ship of England.
Australian bowlers were in good form. We can't expect same kind of game everytime. Root played an awesome batting in the first innings. We can't be sure the same kind of performance will come from him this time. For Australia it was Khawaja who have took the team to the better position with his 141 runs. England needs atleast 400+ runs to try its chance of winning against champion Australia. Already England's position is bad, lower the score lower will be the chance of winning the match.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 18, 2023, 11:50:53 PM
Very few cryptocurrencies have got the proven record on its growth from the scratch. One amongst is the ethereum that stands next to bitcoin. In simple terms, bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies whereas ethereum is the king of altcoins. No matter the investment, it assure with profit same as what we see with bitcoin. I'm a loser with ethereum, I had over 50eth, but the temptation to make it more caused me loss everything into gambling. I bought those when the price was just around $80.
630  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 18, 2023, 11:33:08 PM

In summary when you have everything you need to survive and you don't need money, are you poor?

People may have different ideas about what poverty means, but in my opinion, it is not being able to afford to meet your basic needs, such as food, clothing, and other necessities. Lack of resources to address basic issues As a result, I consider it to be poverty if someone can provide three meals per day and clothing, but lacks the funds to handle potential problems. I don't believe the poverty rate in many countries will be high if poverty is merely defined as the inability to give three meals per day and clothing, as many people are always able to accomplish.

The overview gives such an understanding. In reality things were different and really worse. In my country more than 1.7 million die every year due to poor diet. This means there is a very huge number of people lacking food. It is true, one who have got the ability to fulfil his basic needs can't be considered as poverty. Countries used to hide the poverty rate, fearing it might degrade the country's name. The government that doesn't want its name to be spoilt should take necessary steps and can make zero poverty nation. The hard reality, the politicians does corruption even in those. Poverty doesn't get connected to money directly, but it should also be considered.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 18, 2023, 10:57:03 PM
We have different thoughts on our gambling activity and from a third person view what we do is all out of addiction. I've shared an incident that happened to me Be a Responsible Gambler. Most of the users posted everything have happened out of addiction. It is true, initially our mind finds it hard to access. Later when we recall what happened and the reasons mentioned by different users we'll come to know how bad we've got addicted. I personally accept myself to be addicted though I'm not a regular gambler.

Congratulations to Andy Murray on winning the tournament in Nottingham!

Andy Murray won the Nottingham Open for back-to-back grass-court titles to maintain a perfect Wimbledon build-up.
A week after victory in the Surbiton Trophy, the 36-year-old hoisted more silverware with a 6-4 6-4 victory over France's Arthur Cazaux in Nottingham.

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/65943406

It's great to see that Andy Murray, after so many injuries and after not playing for so long, is not giving up and is still trying to play at the highest level. After this victory, he will enter the top 40 tennis players in the world.
His biggest prize will be a performance at the upcoming Wimbledon, although his chances of a big result at Wimbledon are probably very small.
I wonder how long we will see tennis masters like him or Nadal on the court.
Much expected win. This have helped him move few ranks high on the world tennis rank list. Young players are dominating the court and it is really hard for him to win more matches. However his thoughts and staying positive at this age with much of injuries and recovery breaks shows his love to tennis. A good win and congratulations. I'm not sure how it happened, but it was said that the kids of Andy Murray have come to the match to give him a father's day support and wishing him the same. Really great!!!
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: June 18, 2023, 09:01:15 PM
Yes. This is what I like (enjoying the game and supporting my favorite team).

Supporting your favorite team in any situation and condition in the form of a game is something that everyone, including us, definitely does.
In fact, I rarely even miss my favorite team's matches when they compete with any team.
And as you said, of course I separate the matter of bets (money) because talking about bets is talking about odds. Smiley

If the opportunity comes from the opposing team, then we have to think using the gambling brain, who is worth betting on, he will get his place. But maybe the number of bets I will use is less than what I usually use, because I also support my favorite team. and there are two advantages, when the favorite team loses then we will get a win from the bet, but when the favorite team wins we will get pleasure. That's fair enough isn't it and won't stress us out.
It is always good to bet with reason and not with the heart, sometimes we can say yes, that we will bet with reason, but due to adverse situations, sometimes we as humans get in the way of feelings, and sometimes feelings can help us. lead to victory or failure as the case may be, for example in a sport, in soccer we can be guided by our favorite team, even so if we bet against our team, because we see that it has many flaws, and that it is not very well, if we make the bet against and if the team wins? how will we stay? happy and sad at the same time...it's an ugly feeling, I don't know if anyone has experienced it.

Betting with reason will let our mind accept the losing/winning the bet. When we place our bets on the favourite and lost, it'll be hurting as the match is lost along with the betting amount. When placed based on performance we could win against our favourite, losing the match might make you sad while the winning of bet keeps you prepared for the next bet. However not everyone does it, even myself used to go with the favourite team amidst the low winning chance. This gives kind of feel, that we're supporting the team in some way and the same keeps as hopeful that our team will win.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 17, 2023, 10:13:46 PM
Whether you want to be a professional gambler or you prefer just to be a gambler is secondary. The primary thing is the money, it is the one that drives people towards gambling. People were much about experience based, very few stay within limits or spend what they can afford to lose. This happens understanding and knowing the life stories shared by people through different sources. There is some people who realise only through real life experience, which is really hard. Most of the time once got used to it, people find it problematic and unable to come out easily.

In the Nottingham Challenger Andy Murray have slowly progressed and reached the Quarter finals. In the quarter finals match Andy Murray is in lead position winning the first set against Stricker 77-62, now again he have won the second set 7-5.

He's one among the legend who is fighting hard amidst his age and injuries. With this win he had his consecutive eight win in grass.
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 16, 2023, 06:46:55 PM
Maybe in the third world countries people will see women into gambling differently. On Western nation people have got used to it. Women are good managers than men, and for that reason women prefer gambling of games that are much connected with calculations.

Men within the age of 40 can be seen much into sports betting than casino games. People who have earned good and want to enjoy prefer casino games. In each and every industry the women's participation is increasing with time. Gambling industry isn't the exception, and Women will surely stand equal to men sooner or later.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 06:17:37 PM
Kids should be given their space. If we were specific about the age group, it'll be better whether the kids can be taught about bitcoin or not. Even the educated people who have got used to technology find it hard to understand bitcoin. How does the kids understand about bitcoin, it is really tedious process. Teaching things at the right age will be beneficial and easy understanding than early teaching. So, it is good to let kids enjoy their childhood than forcing them towards something that is not for them.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 16, 2023, 05:48:54 PM
The sixth wicket partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root was very important for England. It was a pivotal point for England in this innings. England was not looking good at 176/5. The good thing is Joe Root is still in the middle. He has already scored 96. I believe he’s going to get to his hundred very soon. Jonny Bairstow played a quick innings of 78 runs from 78 balls. Joe Root took a more classic test cricket approach. He has played 142 balls to get his 96.

England has scored 363 at the loss of eight wickets. I would say this is a decent score. If England can get to 400 I would say they would be really happy.

I mean seriously dude? England declaring first innings with 2 wickets still left. I don't know why they are in so hurry to declare the innings. Root and Bairstow rescued England when game was slippig  away from them. England scored 393 runs with RR of 5.04. Khawaja had a terrible WTC final and will be looking to score some runs today.

I don't get this, England had 8 wickets already down and what more runs the last two wickets can put to the England score?

In a test match, sometimes you have to make aggressive decisions and this is what the England captain does. I am sure that England's back-of-mind plan was that they will take 1 or 2 Australian wickets by the end of the day but it did not happen.

England still has the upper hand in this match and if they can quickly take some wickets in the half session tomorrow morning, they could have more grasp on this match.
That's a different decision from England. The team had different plan and everything worked for them as planned. Scoring is remarkable,393 runs in 78 overs losing 8 wickets. England will now do their best to take few wickets. This could increase the winning probability of England. Lyon's bowling is really awesome, and he took 4 wickets. For Australia Moeen Ali might be a tough challenge.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 15, 2023, 11:44:52 PM

Kenya had the potential to be a far better team than they are today. I would also say that Kenya actually had the potential to be better than Bangladesh. But just because nobody wanted the African continent to be improved in cricket and also just because cricket was controlled by the mafia, Kenya did not get the test status. Instead, it was given to Bangladesh. And we all know Bangladesh has actually not improved in tests. At least liked as well as they should have. If it was Kenya, I believe the improvement was going to be better. I am not feeling that Bangladesh has not improved in anything. Bangladesh has done very well in the ODI format. Back in test cricket Bangladesh still sucks.

Kenya could've been in a better position, but things didn't go well with Kenya team and there is no big support from the ICC. Kenya have played more matches against the full members compared to other small teams. It needs more improvement. Today in the match against Botswana the team had lost the match by 30 runs. Botswana won the toss and managed to score 145 runs and Kenya were able to reach 115 runs while chasing the target.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 15, 2023, 12:07:29 PM
Bangladesh ended their second innings with a lead of 370 runs on the second day. After bowling out Afghanistan, Bangladesh managed to score 134 runs for one wicket at the end of the second day when they came to bat in the second innings. Nazmul Hossain Shanto performed well in the second innings as well as in the first innings.

One of these two batsmen is the opening batsman and the other is the batsman playing in the number three position.  But these two batsmen have the same equation. That is, these two batsmen have scored 54 runs in 64 balls where both of them have a strike rate of 84.4.
Three more days left, Bangladesh will probably end the innings by the second session of third day. In the first innings Afghanistan scored just 146 runs. The middle order alone performed well, and similar pattern of play can be expected in the second innings. Bangladesh is really strong, particularly the open order is giving good support in scoring. Even in the first innings the score came from the top order and tail order contribution is not even 5% of the score. If Bangladesh end its innings in the first session, the match will end by tomorrow.
