621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: December 29, 2023, 10:17:52 PM
The reason anyone would do this cannot be far from making money. I have seen this so many times and greenhorns usually do this for a couple of reasons. It is possible they don’t have money to trade so they post their trades online to get someone who’s willing to risk giving them money to trade on their behalf and get a monthly commission for their investment. Some new traders are pretty good and have a history of successful trades, they become greedy and want to x3 their capital but don’t have the funds to do so. Their only option is to attract investors to give them money to trade for an agreed ROI.
That could be highly possible as we have seen a lot in social media where they flex their trading strategies and claim that those have already made a lot of successful trades, without knowing the fact that those strategies are ineffective and have only contributed losses in trading. If you are weak, you will fall on their traps easily and make you entrust your capital on them and end up losing them all. It's late when you realized that those are just beginner traders who have not proven any significant profits in the trading industry.

Never get deceived with how these newbie traders pretend to be skillful ones. If they really are what they say, they might not be wasting their time lifting their own chair and just focus on what they can do on their trading abilities and skills.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 09:15:48 PM
That depends on the initial performance of an investor. If he knows well his investment and he knows what he's actually doing, then losing might not be possible in the first place. But if he only invest because his peers are into bitcoin investment, and just trying to dominate his greed, well it's clear that he will incur losses in the process. Losing is part of investing, but we can always increase the chance of not to lose if we are knowledgeable and has good experience on bitcoin investing. Same like we can always increase the chance to lose if we are not cautious on our investment.

I actually have come to believe this before, but as my learning experience in crypto has gone wider, I now believe that losing is what you get when you lack the skills to make it work and productive.

624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 29, 2023, 04:16:44 PM
What are the odds of Detroit winning their game against the number 1 team in the East in Celtics?

So far they are leading them by 1 point with 6 minutes left. It's going to be ironic if Detroit win and snap their losing streak against the best team in the NBA.

Let's see how it goes, line is Detroit to win 2.95.

As far as I know it was around 9 Odds for the Detroit Pistons to win the and and Detroit to lead by atleast 12 points at any point of the match was more than 2 Odds, while the line spread was +17 for Detroit Pistons.

If Detroit Pistons had played like they did today all season long, they sure would have not been in a position of 27 consecutive losses, I believe this should be some sort of good motivation for them going forward.

It was +850 or 10.5 on decimal. It may vary from sportsbook to sportsbook but the difference is not big.

There's no hope for Detroit, so it's just right to bet against them everytime. Despite they are being underestimated and the handicap might be bigger than it's suppose to be, but they are still bad in covering the spread as they are only 36.7% so far this season.

Though they covered the handicap against Celtics, I doubt they'll be able to do it again on their next game, I don't even see it a close game.
625  Economy / Economics / Re: The steps to follow in creating a budget on: December 29, 2023, 02:38:54 PM
A very useful post.  All of us should have an ideal budget plan before the start of the year.  All of us will benefit a lot if we follow these rules and plan our budget.  Before the budget plan, it is right to think about our income and expenses.  Uncontrolled travel expenses drag down our finances.  Planning is very important to manage life well.
If you want to be happy in life, everything must follow the rules. If a person moves outside the rules or spends money, he will have to face many problems at some point. For example, due to spending extra money, he may run out of money at some point or even bigger.  If we can follow the rules then we can organize our life very nicely. There are some people who spend extra without accounting for anything they have to face a lot of problems. If we try to calculate them  If I do, I don't think there will be any problem.
However, some instances may prevent us from following these rules. Unpredicted events may suddenly happen and yet our budget cannot cater those emergency needs, hence we end up crossing the rule and touching the budget we're not suppose to use. But if we have saved emergency funds, I think our budget will not be put into compromise. There should be different budget funds that we need to consider, and sticking to each budget will make us live stress free and happy.

It takes discipline to make a budget works. Otherwise, your budget plan will be useless since you're not even following it in the first place. Patience and discipline are the keys.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Replacement for a College Savings Plan on: December 28, 2023, 07:51:20 PM
I guess if time comes that college degree will not be a requirement anymore, then most likely young kids will never be motivated anymore to study hard so they can reach their college days. So I think that's more of a disadvantage on part of the students and those institutions that offer higher education.

However, bitcoin is a good option for savings because its value appreciates every now and then. But I don't think one should only focus on bitcoin savings but should also consider saving in fiat as most of the necessities these days are still paid in fiat. Let's say let's put 60% on bitcoin and 40% in fiat, or 70% bitcoin and 30% fiat, depends on where you feel most convenient to save. College expenses are definitely expensive, so one should even save prior to that. Even if college degree will be removed, I still see advantage saving bitcoin even before college.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 28, 2023, 02:06:15 PM

Remove the winning from gambling and there are still some people who will play. It's like going to a movie house or a computer gaming cafe. Some people call it illogical since we can watch movies at home or play games at home. But it's the experience. People simply just have different tastes in entertainment.

Not applicable for me because the reason why I am gambling is to win. Although I know myself that winning is unlikely in the long run, but I am still gambling because I'm enjoying the moment I win. If there's no winning in gambling, then it's not called gambling anymore, because it's a gamble, we gamble money for a reward, just like a business, we gamble by investing to be successful, here we gamble to win.

I find people insane when they are still gambling despite knowing they have no chance of winning.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 28, 2023, 01:10:01 PM

Tomorrow I will be betting on the Pacers vs Bulls over 241, Wolves -9.5, Memphis +7 and Lakers -13.

I like the Wolves -95. and the Lakers -13. I think these two heavy favorites would win and cover the spread, especially for the Wolves since they will be playing the Dallas Mavericks who are on their back to back game and came from a very disappointing loss.

For the Lakers, yes, they badly need a win here as they are struggling on the recent games. Going back to the winning path is necessary and I'm sure at home where they have a good record, they'll be able to dominate Charlotte who are only 1-9 on the last 10.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: December 28, 2023, 12:10:29 PM
I think most bettors would choose -110 or the favorites. And we all know that by getting that kind of odds, we will pay 10% of our winning to the sportsbook since we will only be getting 1.90 every time we win, just imagine getting 90% of your bet every time you win, that's losing 10% profit, but that's how it is, bookies makes profit from vig, so we just have to play their game.

Personally, I sometimes take odds with +110 or more, but most of my bets is at least -110.

Now, about profitability, I think I am still in (deficit).
630  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What will be your trading strategy for crypto in 2024? on: December 27, 2023, 11:59:37 PM
A lot of people have been asking me this question, so I thought I'd ask you guys the same. My plan is to diversify across promising projects, optimize with rebalancing, and keep a level head throughout the ride.
I have my own plans for 2024, and most likely to accumulate and hold more bitcoins knowing the bull run will be in a couple of months from now. With altcoins, I'm still eyeing some potential coins to add on my portfolio as I believe that altcoins as long as you invest in the right coins will add more profitability in your investment. Not only that, I am also eyeing to diversify my investment into gold, real estate and stocks, just to generate multiple source of profits so that if bitcoin investment drops its profitability, at least I still have some other options to provide profits for me.

These are just some of my plans for 2024. I know the world maybe tough sometimes but if you have multiple investments that are in profits, you will never feel the world is against you. I just think I need to maximize opportunities in bitcoin and diversify them with physical investments as well that are also proven profitable in their own ways.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: biggest misconception about Cryptocurrency? on: December 27, 2023, 10:35:14 PM
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about cryptocurrencies, and how would you clarify it?
Aside from the misconception made by people seeing cryptocurrency as a get rich quick scheme, they also find crypto as a tool for scammers. For me, this is the worst misconception ever. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency where transparency is very high, so I don't think criminals will prefer to use this than fiat where fraudulence and scams have been seen and practiced.

However, those are just speculations that have no real basis.  When they're not allowed to criticize fiat negatively, they make sure to put all the blame on crypto.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 02:48:15 PM
Everyone go into gambling with different motives and there are people who don't care about the money they lose in gambling, because they are making more money from other sources of their investments. There are things you do in life not because of the profitability rather you want to satisfy an inward desire.

Life can be a bit tedious sometimes and people find activities to escape the everyday routine. Some party hard on weekends, go bungee jumping, have risky sexual relationships, etc. while others can bear the boredom not needing any of these things.

We could add gambling to the list of activities that can make one evade from his daily typical worries, so I understand when people admit that they do it just for fun. Those who know the basis of gambling are aware that it is not a good source of income because odds are against the gambler, but many people still enjoy the ride.

We consider gambling as a fun activity since it's not really our focus in life. In real life, we have our jobs or business to prioritize, but sometimes we feel like we want to relax, maybe do the things you've mentioned but all them require money, you are already burning money when you do those things, unlike with gambling than there's a chance to win while you are enjoying the game.

For me, as a full time businessman, I consider gambling as my second hobby since I'm not type of guy who goes out a lot, I am so focus with my job which is online, so it's very convinient on my part to gamble since it's also done online.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 27, 2023, 05:06:11 AM
Pelicans vs Memphis, I think this two have been building up rivalry, when Ja returns back to play as they have beaten them with Ja's buzzer beater.

But it's time for Pelican to bring back the favor, they are leading by double digits advantage at their homecourt. But when Ja is still in the floor, we don't know if he will suddenly explode anytime to close the score again. So let's see if he still has some left in the tank in the 4th quarter.

They loss a winnable game. This Memphis can't loss man, because once again, they win the game in a thriller OT.

Ja Morant and company were playing great basketball, everyone was contributing with their suffocating defense, and their win streak continue.
Just a one point win but that was all garbage time, Memphis already build a good lead in the OT ensuring them a big win.

635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your feelings if Bitcoin price takes your expectations unaware on: December 26, 2023, 11:59:07 PM
As a short-term goal Bitcoin Investor whose eyes has been on the Bitcoin market and has accumulated as much Bitcoin while expecting the bull-run markets to come and skyrockets so you can sell you Coins at a profitable higher price, and then you wake up lately maybe at night or sometimes in the morning and learns that Bitcoins value rate (Price) hitted the market even times 3 of what you expected for example, you awaits the market to hit $65K and then it hits $165K just at your slightest mistake of given the markets charts monitoring maybe few minutes or an hour break and then it depreciated unimpressively against your will probably even below your hodling value at your notice, how would you feel at it?
That was another missed opportunity for someones who has always aim to see bitcoin price at its peak. Now that it happens, you're not there to monitor the market but only leave with you a very disappointing price that anyone will feel the regret of not having to sell when the market value is at its peak. But that's okay, as cheaper price opens new opportunity to accumulate more bitcoin at a very affordable price.

However, bitcoin has always seen recovering from its deepest price drop, so don't be too alarmed but wait for the market to recover again so you can sell at its very impressive price.
636  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: December 26, 2023, 11:24:04 PM
...Knowing how to trade would only get you that far, but not j to the realm of successful traders. It takes a whole lot of desire to win, persistence and consistency to be a successful trader. So I assure that anyone who wants to be a successful trader can be by pursuing with passion...

This is all just theory, but in practice everything is completely different. And there are a very large number of traders who, after many years of unprofitable trading, decide to change their role to an investor. And for many, this is the right decision that allows you to earn a lot of money with minimal risk, which is still present when investing.
Its not all the time that passion can go a long way. Yes, you may have all the enthusiasm to trade and persistency to keep on going, but you get easily fainted when you start seeing consecutive losses. When it happens almost in every time you trade, you will definitely lost your passion to trade. Trading is not all about passion, but rather it's about knowledge, skills and strategies, as well as patience and discipline. If you don't have the last two, you will still fail and commit losses when trading.

Anyone can trade but not anyone can be a successful trader. A lot desire to trade due to its high promising profits but end up seeing them investing in the market since the offers are equal and yet it's less risky and less stressful.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HODL: what happens to Bitcoin holders during impressive price increase? on: December 26, 2023, 10:59:51 PM
A lot would be actually tempting to sell because of the impressive price. Most especially for those who are badly needing money since they only have bitcoin investment, then they have no choice but to sell early. However, as long as you sell not at loss, that would always be a good decision to sell. But most likely for those who have other sources of income aside from bitcoin, they will just ignore the current impressive price but will continue to hold more as they are looking forward for a new all time high for bitcoin, that will enable them to sell at a much higher and impressive price.

Bitcoin hodling is proven to be a highly profitable activity for bitcoin. But it never means that you will just hold your coins forever because you're in for a bigger rewards. You need to sell as well at some point so you can enjoy your profits every now and then. Not a requirement but a wise decision to take.
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: A big buying opportunity might be on the horizon on: December 25, 2023, 05:56:27 PM
Bitcoin reaching it's new all time high has always been its goal even before SEC approval for bitcoin ETF news has spread out. That's why irregardless of its outcome, bitcoin is still determine to reach its goal.

However, upon seeing the SEC approval does not turn into reality, bitcoin price might be possibly affected and we should prepare for that. Not just to stay hodling on our investment but to take advantage on the new cheap price for bitcoin. Bitcoin accumulation will only be maximized if you do it at a perfect timing.
639  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Follow the technique if you have zero trading knowledge in crypto on: December 25, 2023, 05:35:34 PM
what techniques do you use in trading or what indicators do you use in trading. can share the portfolio, if it's good, I might be interested in learning what indicators to use.

If trading without any knowledge at all, it's better to start with copy trade, don't trade right away, what's more big capital. or you can use a demo account first in MT4 forex market cypto there is also really.
I prefer to create a demo account first so you can test the techniques all you want. Either it will be a failure or not, at least you know as to where its heading. But even in trading with demo account, prior knowledge in trading is still important. Trading is not suitable for those who are still in the position of acquiring knowledge as trading is all about skills and enhanced strategies to expect positive outcome from trading. If you think you don't have that, better to focus first on long term hodling.

After all, long term hodling still promise huge amount of profits. A lot of traders turn into long term hodling and still end up successful as long as patience and determination is always present.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 25, 2023, 04:59:56 PM
its truly important to be set up financially before even having marriage because financial is the bane of the existence of the family without it divorcement occurred quite frequently.
after all, before when you were a single person you don't have to worry about fulfilling basic needs you can live frugally and have that kind of irresponsible spending for your earning but when you have family you have to take up the responsibility of also taking care your spouse, even your descendant, therefore money spending become the reason that keeps your family together otherwise it will crack and it will be a problematic thing you need to face.
always know that starting out family is not some measly thing, its not a thing that can be underestimated, so many people kept saying that they will figure it out as the time goes when they get married, but alas there are too many cases in the court in regard of divorcement. such thing also probably starts out from the fact that they try to figure out how to earn enough for family and they failed miserably because earning money is definitely tough thing.
Having stable finances is actually a great factor when it comes to the future of marriage. No marriage will sure to survive if the funds are always in a downturn. Maybe it would be okay if it only happens seldom, because we can't always be on top of our finances, but if it happens all the time, no wife or spouse will be able to continue the burden, that's why divorce happens at the end of the marriage.

Not only for financial responsibility, but even to some other aspects that would contribute to the sustainability of a marriage, the two individuals need to work on it first before they enter the room for marriage.
