6381  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Jim Acosta karate chops intern’s arm & loses White House press pass on: November 10, 2018, 06:55:57 PM
It's as simple as this. If Acosta was required by policy to hand over the mic, and he didn't, he was wrong. But if he was assaulted, he was in the right for protecting himself.

Even if he was wrong about handing over the mic, the violence of the woman was wrong.

Even if Acosta was fired for his actions, his act of self protection is part of universal law, and especially in the U.S.

Wanna play politics? Go ahead. But Acosta was right in protecting himself.

If Acosta was wrong in not handing over the mic, the woman was wrong in trying to take it from him by force.

There is appropriate policy in place for both Acosta and the woman... a way to handle the situation peacefully.

This whole thing is a political tug of war.

Cool

This is false equivalency horse shit people always trot out when shit like this happens, allowing this double standard to continue.

Taking some thing from some one's hand is not force (unless of course you have no rights to said property). Even if it was, a reasonable amount of force used to obtain your own property from some one with no rights to it is not a crime.

Also it should be noted the act began with Accostas resistance to the legal act of taking the microphone back, not the other way around. The first to initiate illegal force is quite relevant to any case of assault.

Your argument of "ease" is flawed. The fact is if people want to murder they will find a way. In the UK they banned guns, then knife crime want crazy. They banned knives, now they stab each other with screwdrivers. Then they FUCKING BANNED SCREWDRIVERS, or rather walking around with them on the street without just cause.

Your premise is flawed.

Homicide rate in the UK (guns, knives, screwdrivers, whatever) is ~80% lower than in the US so I wouldn't describe it as "crazy".

If it was easier to kill it via other means why would all these mass shooters choose the harder way via guns? You're not making any sense. You bring up an arson example from last year and California wildfires... there is a mass shooting nearly every day.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/11/08/thousand-oaks-california-bar-shooting-307th-mass-shooting/1928574002/

See you are just using circular logic. I say it is not easier. I give examples.

You say "If it was easier to kill it via other means why would all these mass shooters choose the harder way via guns?"

This is circular logic, you are just referencing your own unbased conclusion as the source for your logic.

My point is even if you waved a magic wand to make all the guns go poof, those shootings would magically transform into arsons, stabbings, bombings, etc. Murders don't happen because of inanimate objects. They happen because of intent. Furthermore those inanimate objects help protect people from all of this, so it is not as simple as "oh lets just get rid of that and the problems will be gone!"
6383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2018 USA Mid Terms! Red or Blue Waves?!? on: November 10, 2018, 06:32:32 PM
lower approval than what I stated with average results = even more impressive for Republicans (IE not an argument in support of your point)

I don't see how it's "impressive" that Republicans are failing to support their President, or failing to elect someone who would have a slightly wider appeal, whichever way you want to look at it. Low approval rating is the result of this failure, not the cause of it.

I am very sorry your reading comprehension is so poor.

I say "Hey! This approval rating has this average rate of loss, and the Democrats did just that number" (a
you reply (unsourced I might add) saying essentially "Yeah but, if his approval rating were LOWER he would have lost less seats!"

It is "more impressive" because the example showed an approval rating HIGHER than Trump had, and the average was 33 seats

Trumps ACTUAL approval rating at the time of election was actually about 10 points lower, 40%... meaning that in spite of having an approval rating LOWER than used in the average calculation, he still maintained the same number of seats as in the average... meaning that the Dems actually had less than average gains for an incumbent with his approval ratings.

If you don't see the issue with your logic here by now, my explaining is not going to make anything better for you.
6384  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: November 10, 2018, 06:12:10 PM
Of course it's hard to admit when you are wrong. Your article is simply false, the government did not lose any lawsuit. They settled and then it was dismissed, so yes, your article is proven to be bullshit, end of the story, if you can't even admit this, there is no point in talking to you, you are intellectually dishonest.

Either it was settled or dismissed, it can't be both. So I checked for myself. It was settled, because it was a FOIA suit, and the requested records simply did not exist, even though they were required to be created by law. Essentially the government had responsibilities under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 that it was not meeting. This does in fact have serious implications.
6385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 13 Dead at mass shooting in California Bar on: November 10, 2018, 05:48:54 PM
You don't really believe that. If you do you are pretty ignorant. It doesn't even cost anything to start a fire if you do it right. No one is handing out free guns. Gasoline is cheap. There is a reason we have fire codes... because populated buildings on fire can be very lethal, and spread quickly.

Also, everyone thinks of a clock with a radio and a beeping timer when they think of IEDs. You can build an IED out of a light bulb and some gasoline. If people want to kill people they can do it no matter what you write down and call law.

Guns don't depend on people being in a building or the flammability of said building or many other circumstances that need to coincide for an IED or a building fire to kill people.

What was the last time we had mass murder by fire or by IED?

I see! So is the turn out for Republicans more impressive or less impressive if you use lower approval rating? lol. Good job arguing against yourself and understanding simple addition and subtraction.

What are you babbling about? Turnout was relatively high for both parties but Democrats outvoted Republicans by ~5 million. Trump's immigration hysteria backfired bigly. So much effort for 1 or 2 Senate seats and losses everywhere else. Or as you call it - impressive.

Ok, sit down Timmy and I will explain it for you in simple words.

Orange man bad right? Ok so orange man, have approval under 45% yes?

Which is harder for orange man to keep more seats than past times of keeping seats, if orange man have 45% approval or 50% approval?

lower approval than what I stated with average results = even more impressive for Republicans (IE not an argument in support of your point)

At this point if you don't know how to add and subtract I am not sure I can help you any more than this.

Yeah isn't it a shame you can't just use physical force whenever you like to get what you want when you have no legal right to it? I mean as long as you don't injure anyone it is ok right? No.

I know, right? So ridiculous. Everyone knows that in the Trump White House you are only allowed to grab women by the pussy.

That is a wonderful whataboutism you have there. I don't know if anyone has taught you but, words are different than actions, and women throwing themselves at you because you are rich is different than assault. You keep sticking with those talking points though, they are clearly working for you.

I want everyone here to pay close attention how as one of the most epic traps in our history is set, and the hapless targets, full of hubris walk right into it.

Over the next year or so you are going to see a lot of things unfold. There are going to be lots of serious high level indictments made public, prosecutions, as well as military tribunals of many high level people within, and formerly within our government. Everything you have been watching unfold over the last few years is as a result of this. Every circus, every freak show, they were all symptoms of some very powerful, and very corrupt people being systematically stripped of their influence and leverage over society.

As far as they are concerned either they have control or no one will, and they will burn as much down on the way out as they can to prevent this. That is why this has taken so long. A lot of you have been wondering why these prosecutions didn't start right away. This is why. They needed to be stripped of the ability to seriously harm the nation. At this point, this has been done to a large degree, but they will still attempt to do so, primarily via trying to instigate civil war and mass panic.

All this election fraud, it was expected, and part of the plan. The pattern of election fraud has been well documented, only this time there were people watching close and documenting the act. The mid terms were a trap, and they just stepped right in it...

6394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2018 USA Mid Terms! Red or Blue Waves?!? on: November 09, 2018, 09:41:33 PM
Well it was a big blue wave!

Trump handed the dems their biggest win since Watergate, they picked up 31 seats so far and could be 37!  Arizona and Florida senate seats are still very much up for grabs, so Republicans may only gain 1 seat in the senate with an extremely favourable senate election map.

I can't wait for the 2020 "vulnerable" Republicans to start to distance themselves from the POTUS!

A lot of Republican politicians won't want to follow Trump over the cliff LOL.

When the investigations start rolling out, Trump spends 2 more years humiliating himself in public and the election maps start to favour dems the Republicans are going to get decimated in 2020!

Democrats also gained 7 governors and made gains (flipped or split or broke supermajorities) in about a dozen state legislatures. Gained 3 or 4 state AGs.

The fact that Democrats came out to vote (thanks mostly to Trump) made the difference. They consistently outnumber Republicans just rarely vote in midterms. Indeed a "tremendous success" for Trump but not quite for the Republicans.

6395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 13 Dead at mass shooting in California Bar on: November 09, 2018, 09:18:48 PM
It's much harder to kill with any other weapon that you could reasonably obtain (vehicle, knife, baseball bat, etc) and that's obvious from what's going on in other civilized countries that don't have a powerful gun lobby.

Is it? It is really tho? Is gasoline hard to get? What about improvised explosives? How hard is it to steal a car or a truck to run lots of people over with? Are you saying setting fire to a populated building wouldn't kill people faster than a gun? Shit there are enough supplies at any local grocery store to build basic IEDs. This premise is bullshit. What is required to kill is INTENT, not a gun.

You know the problem though? You can't defend your home, your family, or your person with gasoline, IEDs, or trucks.

I think it's harder for an average person to build an IED or set fire to a building than it is to pull a trigger.

You don't really believe that. If you do you are pretty ignorant. It doesn't even cost anything to start a fire if you do it right. No one is handing out free guns. Gasoline is cheap. Lets break it down for the slower bluer folks here...

1. Does he have a RIGHT to be present at this press conference?

-No.

2. Did he have an opportunity to ask a question?

-Yes. Nothing entitles him to have more questions answered immediately.

3. Was the microphone his property?

-No. The microphone did not belong to him.

4. Does the custodian of property have the right to deprive that property from some one with no rights to it?

-Yes.

5. What is the legal and technical definition of using force in an attempt to prevent some one from doing some thing they are legally entitled to do?

-Assault.

6. Should he be prosecuted for assault?

-No, this is only some thing retards on the left say in order to build the most extremist narrative possible here in order to distract from the fact that he shouldn't have behaved that way regardless of the law.

7. Are people really that upset about what Jim Acosta did?

-Most people wouldn't stop to piss on Jim Acosta if he was on fire. No one cares about him except when he makes himself a nuisance. People are pissed because this is a BLATANT AND OPEN demonstration of the double standards the media has for the left vs the right. If the roles were reversed here and it was a conservative reporter and a liberal staffer they would be LOSING THEIR FUCKING MINDS and it would be on the 24 hour media loop for months.

8. Any of you remember this?

In short, this is why the left has no more credibility. At least on the right, you can expect people to do things conservatives do. The left has no substance, is unpredictable, extremist, and does not follow any rules, even the ones they make.
6397  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: November 09, 2018, 08:46:14 PM
So what, what the fuck is your point here? Nothing will ever be 100% true, ever. You can't prove anything with an 100% certainty. Saying that is useless, that's why we use the best we have, the best we can do, which is scientific theories. Yes they are up for debate, if that's what you really want me to say, but not any debate, some idiots saying evolution isn't real shouldn't be seen as a debate. The evidence for gravity or evolution is so overwhelming that you basically have to accept it as 100% truth. We have been using and applying scientific theories for a variety of things and it works, science works. Someone who is unable to accept well established scientific theories just because he doesn't like them should NOT discuss anything related to science, and that's a fact heh.

Yeah pretty much. Everything is relative. That doesn't mean there is no truth, just you are statistically unlikely to ever see or know it. We can make educated guesses about things. That is literally the best science has to offer. That doesn't make it useless or something we shouldn't strive for, but if you don't understand this, what you are practicing is not science, it is religion.

I don't really give a fuck about any of the other points argued here so don't bother arguing them with me. I am not here to defend them.

'' That is literally the best science has to offer'' Which was my point all along? What's your point exactly? Do you think scientific theories are useless or not?

I literally answered your question in this post, but you didn't stop frothing at the mouth long enough to actually read it. Loving the personal attacks in the reputation section because you can't handle a legitimate debate too. Wink

It's really disturbing that we're still arguing this subject.  It's obviously partisan in nature.  There has been zero evidence that Trump is being blackmailed by the Russians.  There has been zero evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians, and so what if he did?  ....

I don't care what political party you affiliate with, if you are here to solve problems I'll support you.  If all you want to do is distract from solutions, and obstruct progress then you are a part of the problem.

The problem with your attitude is you think like Trump. None of the Democrats have this point of view, and only a fraction of the Republicans. Most are simply concerned with getting and maintaining power, and actually doing useful things is in their view, a distraction.

I see your point, and won't attempt to refute it.  But even a lie that's obviously a lie is likely to be believed by those who will feel vindicated by it.  If you repeat the lie often enough some who're aren't biased may even start to believe it.

"True believers" are the most dangerous type of opponent, especially when they are wrong. That is part of why post modernism/Marxism is such a cancer. People present a narrative of victim-hood in order to justify the victimization of others, in order to get "equality" by taking some thing from others. This then creates a cycle of even more victims then looking for more people to "justifiably" victimize.

The worst part is since they think this is all for the greater good they fight with that much more vigor. Then when confronted with facts that demonstrate they are really supporting systems that result in everything they claim to hate, they can't handle it then bury their head in the sand, and get EVEN MORE extremist in a vain attempt to double down to create enough emotional noise to ignore this reality.

While I agree with the OP, Spendulus does have a point here. It is kind of like religion. Maybe their religion is all people with brown hair are evil. You don't have to believe in it, but if you have brown hair, and enough people do, it still effects you. The same is true with the religion of post modernism/Marxism that has captivated the left.
