It's amazing how people can't understand something so simple as Trump not being able to get a wall when he controlled the house and senate and yet somehow he's going to get his made up agenda from a dem house controlled by Nancy Pelosi...

If you are a loser just shift the goal posts and walk back your claims. Maybe no one will notice... kind of like that bet that you refused to take that demonstrated you don't really believe what you say. Say by the way how is that collusion investigation turning out?
5542  Other / Politics & Society / Re: From what I see democrats are at fault on: February 12, 2019, 05:15:00 PM
At the end of the day, there will be a wall.

To most Democrats they are so neck deep in their own bullshit and unwilling to admit it, as long as they have a van down by the river to jerk themselves off in they would consider it a victory.
5543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is the violence in France completely legitimate? on: February 12, 2019, 05:07:05 PM
I've heard about that, yes. Well, maybe it is time for the French revolution to really repeat itself. What a lovely manifestation of democracy; but at least we can scream and shout that socialism and communism are bad, right? Roll Eyes

Not sure I understood that bolded part.

Indeed a lovely democracy. France has been pointed at by multiples association including Amnisty International and Freedom of Press association as leaning towards dictatorial habits. Abuse of power threatening freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom to protest.
It's clearly a flawed democracy to the least...

Its Laudas way of being too much of a pussy to address me directly because they know they can't win in a direct debate about... well pretty much anything.

Thank you for saying that because we have many opponents here in France. On bitcointalk, in the French local board, I can see that the French (the French of bitcointalk) are against this movement, maybe they no longer live in France, maybe they watch TV, I don't know, some even say that we are too stupid...

On the internet and in the press everyone seems to be against us.

On the other hand, on the street, everyone I meet supports us.

I personally support what you are trying to do there. You have supporters all over the world. We see your government trying to use violence to suppress you. Just don't let the Socialists and Communists infiltrate or the movement is over. I saw it happen with my own eyes during Occupy Wallstreet.

I don't know why you're talking about socialists, we don't have the same definition that you I think.... Anyway, no one wants a political movement... except the government, it would allow it to stop everything by putting a puppet in power.

Socialism has a specific definition. No one wants a political movement but this is inherently political, further more entrenched political movements have incentive to infiltrate and misdirect, which is what they will attempt to do.

5545  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New Hampshire bill would restrict police deadly force on: February 12, 2019, 03:47:15 PM
police didn't exist until, what, 1850 or so?   somehow the world managed to lift itself out of the longest dark age in recorded history without them, maybe we don't need them.   Certainly we don't need to be taxed to fund them.

If we could end the drug war and civil asset forfeiture that would start happening by market forces alone.

Check back with us in 3 weeks Captain Victory.

Curious to really see if this ages well.

I do personally think, even though I support President Trump, that it looks like he lost this battle. Unknown on the war yet though!!!!!

Captain Victory checking in!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reports are coming out of the bi-partisan committee members that an agreement in principle has been reached.  GOP members have agreed to 1.3b for Trump's wall.  Trump got such a good deal he managed to get LESS than was offered to him in Dec.  In Dec he was offered 1.6b for his wall, now he is going to get 1.3b.  He went from being offered 25b down to 1.6b and then after the shutdown is being offered 1.3b AND his party is ready to go ahead with it!

This is going to be fucking awesome Trump talked his stupid orange ass right into the worst possible spot he could be in LOL.  He either shuts the government down (which would be the single best thing for the Dems possible) and risks his own party over turning on him in large numbers or he caves to Nancy and goes with an emergency order or executive order.  Either of those options will be contested and beaten down in court and if they aren't the precedent it will set will be awesome when the next dem Pres gets elected and declares their own national emergency on guns, taxes or the environment.

LOL the dems literally can't loose this one, thanks pussy grabber, you really are the best deal maker the dems ever had!

Flying Hellfish, premature as usual...

What the fuck do you know about your own nation mOgliE? You were just saying this protest was dying down weeks ago. You have to pull your head out of your ass first to see what is going on around you in your own country.

He doesn't live in France.

What is he from Quebec? Even worse... he had no issues pretending he was.

Maybe he comes here a lot, I don't know.

All I can tell you is that here in France, no one thought it would last.
It's a spontaneous movement.

Now we are starting to be a little organized but we don't have a leader, even if some try.

However, after 13 weeks (14 next Saturday) I can tell you that the protest movement is not about to stop.

Just to take an example: We were asking for price reductions: Our president is increasing them. He mocks us, mutilates us with his police (80k cops every saturday). The whole press is against us (it belongs to the government and his friends), lies every day, there are scandals about the president.... There are so many things to say that it becomes hard to summarize. In any case, France is no longer a democracy, they are even passing a law prohibiting the demonstrations and registration of the political opponents.

In May we will still be there.

I personally support what you are trying to do there. You have supporters all over the world. We see your government trying to use violence to suppress you. Just don't let the Socialists and Communists infiltrate or the movement is over. I saw it happen with my own eyes during Occupy Wallstreet.

5550  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Capitalism and the exploitation of labor on: February 11, 2019, 09:27:44 PM
what you want is gentrification for labourers, not stopping the exploitation by capitalists.

many workers are forced to work, because they lack the financial literacy to find an alternative way.

Who's fault is that?

that the workers dont print money like the capitalists? they think they can't

Asking a question in response to another question is not a retort.

Because we're Hitler obviously.

It's incredibly fun to see how you yell all the time how liberals aren't able to use arguments and just yell "NAZI" all the time, but on the same time you reach Godwin point in less than 3 posts in tons of threads.  Shocked

I would ask you to address any of the arguments made in the article, but we all know you didn't read it, and if you did you wouldn't understand it, and if you did you would ignore it. Much easier to make some quick meaningless quip than discuss facts.

-shit-
You clearly have no idea of what's happening in France and what are the laws current government has passed.

Otherwise you wouldn't claim Macron has raised social spendings...

"The budget includes a €6bn cut in household tax bills while business taxes will fall by close to €20bn"

How is that not capitalism and free market driven? Reduced taxes and reduced wealthare...

This is why I say hating on "rich people" or billionaires is stupid. These people are peasants compared to the real owners of this world.
5556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Green New Deal on: February 11, 2019, 05:49:15 AM
Theorizing aside... what is not a theory is that humans have shown the capacity and will for genocide and depopulation on a massive scale in the past. Pretending it will never happen again is the exact kind of mistake that will allow it to happen again. The difference is this time they will have a better marketing strategy. I am sure it is just a coincidence "environmentalism" and mass depopulation have parallel goals...

The interesting thing about this is, that even though there might have been as many as 200 million people murdered by their own governments in the 1900s, the population of the world is higher than it has ever been this side of prehistory.

How puny people are that they can't even kill themselves off successfully!

Cool

Well that really depends on how you measure success. It seems it was enough to continue concentrating wealth and power. The difference is this time they have robots and AI and really don't need most of us around to work for them any more... People should be worried less about not having a job and more that the people with limitless resources soon will have no incentives to keep you alive.

I have never heard of this, however given the most common circumstances where this may come under dispute, I would guess that this idea was a result of some one misinterpreting a corporate policy rather than an actual law. Any sufficiently good attorney can find ways to shred contractual agreements, and this sounds like one of those high stakes policies to prevent just this kind of thing. I may be wrong but this is my impression of this.
5560  Other / Meta / Re: For Theymos on: February 11, 2019, 02:09:25 AM
The list of "unofficial" rules are in all sense of the word, the official rules. They are called that so people can't just try to bypass them on technicalities. If one of the unofficial rules was that you cannot use Satoshi's name in vain, people would say S@toshi, or use some code word or whatever. Under steadfast rules they might get away with that. Give the moderators some room to use real human reason, and they'll say, saying Satoshi and S@toshi are the same thing.

I get it, its probably frustrating to end up on a little posse's bad side. I see weird groups of people forming and it escalates. People like conflict, otherwise you'd just ignore them when the fighting started.

I read this as "We don't ever want to have to be accountable for the moderation decisions we make, so we purposely keep the rules confusing and arbitrary so that no one can ever tell us we are wrong."

This is the ONLY reason not to have clear rules. If some one is abusing a technicality that is causing disruption, perhaps the rule should be changed. This does not prevent anyone from making judgement calls on this, it just means they would (GASP) have to explain their actions and be accountable for them if they did.

The ambiguity and confusion itself is what is causing a VAST amount of the conflict on this forum. Look into any legal system that uses ambiguously and selectively enforced rules and it is just a disaster, because this environment breeds disdain for "rule of law", because if some people don't have to follow the rules, why should you? Then if you are punished for what others are allowed to do then even more confusion about what is and is not allowed is created.

It is not "frustrating" to end up on "a little posse's bad side". These people not only can destroy years worth of work and investment of resources, but they have also been known to have serious effects on people's real lives. I think you personally may have been just more than a little bit sheltered from this. It is easy to say just walk away when it is not your reputation being burned to the ground. I could personally give you a demonstration in this and I think you know it, but that is not the kind of stuff I do. However there are plenty of those types around here. This rules are for thee and not for me shit is getting pretty old.
