I think KnC's main competition right now is going to be Cointerra. When they first came on the scene they looked really vaporware-ish, but it looks like they are for real. If they pull together a solid device without major issues then that will be good for our industry and ultimately us as consumers.

Go look at Hashfast's threads here to see how thrilled their customers are. It's BFLish to say the least. Think hard before ordering from an outfit like that.

How about this - what about mining pools? Are those exempt as well? KnC hosts as well as runs its own mining pool. Will they have to start saying no to any US citizens if it applies? I already get that with just about everything else. "We'll do business with you unless you're a US citizen." Pain in the butt.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 29, 2013, 06:18:16 AM
I've been watching this on the neptune batch 1,2,3,4 stuff and if you look on KnC's site it goes down like this:

1st batch - pre-existing customers only at $10K - shipment Q1/Q2
General release - anyone could order at $13K - shipment Q1/Q2
2nd general release batch - anyone can order at $10k - shipment in Q2 at least 1 month after the general release batch

So, honestly time will tell when everyone will get their miners. It's just all speculation at this point since it's months out and we have no more info to go on. If you want a 2nd batch Neptune they are still available (912 left). I do believe they might release some Junipers since they're a little crazy like that. If they do I certainly will pick one up if the price is reasonable.

Best news yet! We don't have to register as money transmitters with fincen!

Ice hasn't posted on this thread, has he? Bizarre since he posts heavily on other ASIC mfrs threads.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 28, 2013, 12:55:20 AM
I look upon the whole incident as an "omen", and ultimately decided to keep all 5 of the Neptune orders...  Tongue
But am still getting the bank account for future business ease....

Stay strong brother. Don't sell out. With how well we did on Jupiters, it is worth the risk. As long as you are playing with the house's money, you're good to go.
Oh, it would have been offing one or two late Neps for the upcoming jupiters.... lol
No way would I part with any of my 3 Batch one Customer appreciation Nep's... yet    (evil grin)

Ohh, spent all your coin on those huh?  I wish we knew when these jupiters were shipping, I'd like to buy them now!!

yep at $3500.00 a Jupiter and if I could get them in "hand" by Feb 1st and .....hopefully..this is true I can do a 'wire xfer" (I have coin just too stubborn to sell them).... now that I have a bank that actually knows what they are doing to do so....so I'm set...$$$ in the bank...wire xfer lady informed she will maybe soon see my smiling face again (by the by you start tossing about 10k 20k and such wire xfers about ..and the bank people are 'very very nice" to me now? ? go figure???

I got 2 brothers...I drank the koolaid...1 brother we kinda forced the koolaid in the other brother with more money then sense is way past me in the comfort zone of getting more neptunes. drank too much of the Kool-Aid......it is a zoo (going home for thanksgiving....'hmmmm don't tell brothers about bitcoin.....and I have at that time 35k in coin.......yeah iand it takes off in 2014..yep I be  ...dead.....do tell borthers about bitcoin ...and it tanks sometime in spring . yeah dead....screwed either way so told them)

so at the above price and time line I'm in for 3 jupiters....(could/should probably get more but one of us 3 should act like an adult..and have 'some' caution I mean we have 1 batch 1 Neptune 1 batch 2 Neptune and maybe the above....plus my orig Jupiter (smug bastard I am) ..you guys with 'wives" as a self replicating 'governor" on excessive bitcoin miner purchases have it easy!......

(if this ends badly I will never hear the end of it....chump or champ it is always thus in my life)

Searing

p. s. I assume it is not BTC only? anyone have any clarification on this...if BTC only ..I'll just punt the 3 jupiters back....speculating fiat I'm ok with at this time bitcoin...er not so much in that I'm 'hoping'  soemtime in jan 2014 with the talks of major Chinese exchanges and some give/take and conditions Chinese $$$ will again flow to the exchanges..if that happens 'ka boom'

hey a 'boy can dream' right?

Searing, you have some of the craziest posts sometimes. Smiley

The smart investors in China will find an alternate means to invest in btc. You just have to be creative. there are other exchanges out there that they can migrate to at a bit of a loss. you also have to remember that the best time to invest is when everyone panics and wants to get out. I am keeping my neptune orders and wont make any more rash decisions based on the current value of btc. I'd advise you all to think ahead and not panic.
650  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] btcolympus.com 28nm Hercules ~500 GH/s ASIC NO PREORDERS! on: December 17, 2013, 04:00:09 AM
They're an English company but not in the company register? Well that's good.
...and their use of the English language is questionable.

"...we are among the most serios company...", "100% COSTUMER SATISFACTION", "...27.000 dollars in six mounts...", "As a 100% English is a gentleman in real life"

Found my Nigerian cousin yet? He wants to invest and get reeeech.

Thanks for the lulz. My favourite line is "... you will start feeling reech in no time!" Have you by chance seen my Dr Prince cousin esquire in Nigeria? He needs some help depositing a billion dollar check of which you can have half and feel reeeeeech!!!!
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 14, 2013, 02:38:13 AM
Neptunes are down to 32/1200 left up for sell.

Seems they will have sold out 1200 x 12,999.00 = WOW

so they have more that what is needed to cover NRE cost.

And that does not even factor in Batch 1 1200 units at 10k each

Those shovel makers are doing quite well. I saw the number was at 43 now. I guess some got returned to the pool.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 13, 2013, 06:04:57 PM
32 neptunes left - I hope knc deliver in q1 and rain on all these mfs parades.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 13, 2013, 03:27:44 AM
Sorry guys, I'm completely new to bitcoins and mining. You wanna make me feel stupid, go ahead if it makes you feel better.
These forums are not for the faint of heart. Neptunes are about sold out for pre-orders and they could ship anywhere from Jan-June since they specified a Q1/Q2 ship date. They have finished shipping the November Jupiters and Saturns. If you want to order a Neptune I'd do it now and pay by bitcoin. Bank transfers have been problematic as of late. Not sure why.
655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: COINTERRA IS REAL -> NO SCAM!!! on: November 30, 2013, 05:02:47 PM
No mining manufacturer is real and trustworthy until they produce and ship working miners. We'll have to wait and see if they deliver. I live in San Antonio and may come up and visit to see your outfit. Do we need an appt or can we just show up?

Judging by this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=249065.0 , the latest hosted order that got deployed was 38xx for yuriygeorge on the 25th of October
The latest shipped order was 586x for DobZombie

My hosted order is 39xx still has "Paid" status.

I am now watching like a hawk if faetos and dunchy (400x and 421x) would report their hosted units as deployed.

If that happens, I'll be demanding refund.

I know of a hosted order 42XX that is up and running . . . if it helps.

I ended up getting a refund, because my orders never moved an inch. I am super bummed about it and have pretty much given up on mining and am now just focused on working on my trading platform.

Did you guys ever get your hosting gear?
658  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Reliable? on: November 01, 2013, 03:13:03 AM
The threads Incubus was referring to were not yet the kind "BFL WILL ROB YOU BLIND BEWARE" threads.

No one can be that dense to look at these current threads and think BFL is a place to throw money at.

That quote shows Incubus's deceptive thinking but are dated to the current debacle that BFL is.

You know, nothing drives posts in a thread like  an Inaba post.

I guess in his mind any publicity is good publicity even when the threads include "fucks over again, class action, etc." Odd business strategy in my opinion. I guess it's the same publicity and sell strategy as the likes of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. I would think threads with names like "these ASICs rock!, I love _insert_ASIC_manufacturer_here_, etc" would drive more sales. As long as dumb money is still out there these types will cash in. OK, I'll go back to writing bots now. "sigh"
