641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Project Meshnet: Hardware for cjdns to enable new, censorship free Internet on: September 07, 2013, 07:03:23 PM
Anyone need some Hope about our mesh-netted future?

There are already over 100 meshnets going in as many cities around the world!

Two in particular, in Athens and Spain, have a combined 50,000 users right now, all enjoying free internet!

Two awesome articles about them, although their numbers are a bit out of date:

http://www.dailydot.com/politics/greek-off-the-grid-internet-mesh

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/08/mesh-internet-privacy-nsa-isp

But the mother load of mesh network listings is on wikiP:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wireless_community_networks_by_region

Very encouraging. I bet the ISPs are already sh!tting their bricks.

These are pretty sweet for local locations: http://www.open-mesh.com  -But of course only have the range of standard Wi-fi repeaters.

Enjoy!

I have a large number of 802.11g open-mesh.com units I can sell at $25 each if anyone is interested.

I have a tracking number for order 97.
order number 116 looks like it's still in 'paid' status.  I think 116 is the last august regular order. There are probably a few august refund orders after it.

/cet

There are 14x regular August orders.
645  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 05, 2013, 03:37:06 PM
Orders 76 and 78 - shipped!

Email sent about 10:00 PM PDT - they're working late.  According to the tracking, my order was shipped out on the 3rd, and it's almost here already...

wtf... my order shipped saturday and the tracking just updated today and it's not even in my fucking state yet.

The key is this:
USPS does not use TRACKING, they call it "Delivery Confirmation".

What's the difference?  They make ZERO guarantees to scan your package anywhere except at the delivery point.  They have gotten better over the past 5 years with this, but if you read the fine print about Delivery Confirmation, they make a point to say it is not a full-fledged tracking service.
Incorrect.
USPS Delivery Conf. Is now known as USPS Tracking.
"Priority Mail now Includes:
Insurance coverage up to $50 mailpieces with barcodes.
USPS Tracking™ to see tracking updates, including date and time of delivery or attempted delivery using our Track & Confirm tool.
Package Pickup to have your carrier pick up the package at your door."

It is called tracking now but you are both sort of right.  They do not guarantee scanning except for delivery. It is most frustrating when an entry scan is not done because a customer can think you are sitting on it.

thanks..I figured that out...I'm just so sick, and excited, that I wasn't comprehending anything....

How are people setting up their rigs? Like breadboard style on a counter-top/box...or ghetto-rigged inside of a server case?

648  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Purchase Coins with PAYPAL! BTC + LTC + PPC! www.coin-daddy.com on: September 04, 2013, 10:36:56 PM
If his prices are lower he would last longer.  At $180 a coin it will be mostly scammers who will charge back or be on stolen accounts.

If he was 10% above he would get real customers though still would need a way to sort out the scammers.
649  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: BFL 60gh (paypal) on: September 04, 2013, 08:58:34 PM
anyone has one to sell and willing sell via paypal?

You will not find this easy unless you allow someone to come over your house, It's too easy for chargebacks.

It is even easier to charge back if they do allow someone to come over to their house.

The whole Gold/Bitcoin and Litecoin/Silver is just silly marketing hype, I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

Plus that was started by the IX coin folks.  And we all know what metal IXC represents.....

Scrap aluminum.
655  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Brand new 4-module Avalon clones doing 100+ Ghash/s on: September 02, 2013, 08:20:42 PM
I would not necessarily buy at this price but:

$4500

Figures:  Difficulty 85M Electricity .10 Pool 2% price $5000 no other fees

In April 2013 the buyer would have a $900 profit.  Anything above $4500 leaves nothing serious on the table for the buyer and all of the profit goes to the maker of the equipment.  So at $4500 for immediate delivery is where I would be looking.

I'd agree with that, but just for the chips is 320 @ 0.078 = BTC24.96 = $3620, so can't see them being profitable to make at a price where both parties are happy.

Avalon screwed all of the clones by not delivering the chips when they were made.  This item would have been profitable for the seller and buyer two months ago at a much higher price.  In March these chips will be making almost no profit after electricity.

657  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [wts] Macbook 750gb 4gb OS 10.7 2.66ghz Intel Core 2 Duo $440 USA shipped on: September 02, 2013, 04:25:45 PM
How many charge cycles does the battery have?

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1519

Do you ship to the Netherlands? Is so, what's the estimated shippingcost?

Thanks

Cycle Count:   294
Condition:       Normal

The cost below applies to almost every country worldwide (if anyone else is interested) though insurance is not available for all countries.  For the Netherlands it is.

Priority mail regular $52
Priority mail express $63

Insurance would be about $12.  If you pick this you are subject to the terms of the insurance (examples: 45 waiting period for lost packages, must sign statement to collect).
658  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Brand new 4-module Avalon clones doing 100+ Ghash/s on: September 02, 2013, 03:52:13 PM
If a manufacturer would have, today September 2, Avalon clones (4 modules so 100+ Ghash/s each) all ready for immediate shipping from the USA or local pickup, how much would you be willing to purchase them for?

Keep in mind that difficulty is currently doubling every month. This means something shipping now instead of 30 days from now is twice more valuable, all other technical characteristics being equal.

659  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ebay scam on: September 02, 2013, 03:13:51 AM
I have just ben ripped of today by third time for BTC on ebay.
Buyer buys a BTC and after that he pays it on paypal you get confirmed that you get money and when you transfer BTC to buyers wallet he open a case on paypal that his account is comprimised and that he didn't buyed and payed BTC.
And paypal always decide to give buyer money back no mather how many evidence you have and how obvious is that buyer is a cheatter.
I also have been ripped of by fees on ebay because in some circumstances you can not get fees back.

So I lost my BTCs and also payed fees out of my pocket to ebay.

Can you not just not send the BTC until you have cashed out the paypal money?

You could do this once if:

1) You never wanted to use paypal again
2) You do not care if your credit rating is trashed
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Multicoin Pool][PPLNS] [ Stratum ] give-me-coins.com 1% FEE [LTC, BTC,FTC] on: September 01, 2013, 03:30:49 PM
Been using give-me-ltc for a while now and I really love this new interface! Also noticed that the auto payout fee is at 0; is that going to stay or will it go back up to .001 at some point? Thanks

Autopayout is at 0 from now on Smiley
Seems like it is at .01 for me.

We put TX fees back because we had to many emails from people saying there coins took to long to confirm.

Ok.  There is no grouping of coins for transmit for lower fees?   For example each hour coins go out that are over the threshold, you pay .1 LTC fee and split that among everyone who is being paid at that hour.  That should be less then .01 per person.  I guess I am trying to get the TX fee to be less then .5% on a  2 LTC payout.
