661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 02, 2024, 10:14:42 AM
I think it's already been discussed many times in this forum and section. Many topics are about this concept, talking about the negative effects of gambling. Financial loss and gambling addiction are the same in the sense that you lose money, but the thing is, gambling addiction is the worst because even if a person doesn't have the means to keep on playing, they will keep finding ways to play without thinking about the consequences of gambling, and they will notice that they are deepening their suffering.

Many people or gamblers share their experiences in this forum about gambling, on how gambling ruin their lives or how it affects their daily lives. If you are a sane gambler, then you would know when to stop and limit yourself, but the sad part is gamblers are hoping and believing that gambling will be the one that could save them or could make them rich and prosper, which is a poor mind people could think.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 05:36:14 AM
Yes, I've come to some point where I blame myself for being unlucky, but it's more like I hate myself for doing gambling, or I blame myself because I have known gambling. There is a point in my gambling where I stumble a lot, which costs me a lot of money and puts me in debt. Luckily, I manage to wake up from that path that I build. That's why instead of blaming others or the luck for not siding with me, I blame myself because I do gambling and I can't control myself sometimes.

Its irresponsible for a gambler if he blames himself for being unlucky; not all gamblers have the luck to always win; and also, what do you expect from gambling? This is a world wherein you should expect to lose more than you win. News about someone getting rich from gambling is rare because it's not a common thing, so don't expect that you will enter into gambling and prosper.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech Layoffs on: February 01, 2024, 11:54:45 PM
What do you think? Is it just a shrinkage and normalization after the strong build-up of the workforce during Corona or a long-term trend that will accelerate through the use of AI?

This should have something to do with the  recent change in technology, the introduction of AI into the system. At some points, big companies will like to minimize costs of operation thereby laying off a lot of staffs and integrating this new technologies into the system which some of this new technologies are already proven to be reliable and trustworthy. Humans will still be needed at some points in this company but by laying off majority of them is just showing the need for compulsory flow with the system which every company will abide by. More of such news will be coming in the future, I won’t be surprised when they do.
Exactly that is the sad part in advancement of technology, yes its satisfying and fulfilling on how people grow or evolved in terms of technology its proven that people has capable of doing something greater than we used to be, but remember there is a saying that being too great has consequences, and that is the threat of fewer human are needed in tech companies or other companies because there is a new and popular technology which is AI and its integration is wide, it can be used mostly for anything, its great yeah it can help significantly in any task but the downside is less humans are needed, because Ai will eliminate the human errors which is not a good thing, especially for those people who's skills is only based on their current jobs. We never know what will happen in the coming days or generations, but let's see it through to the end and be ready for what will happen.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 11:22:22 PM
That's why investing in bitcoin is not for weak-hearted people or those who cannot handle their mental and emotional health because bitcoin can be stressful and cause anxiety from what is happening in the market. That's the reason many new investors end up quitting bitcoin because of the effects they experience. But for me, I like the feeling of doing bitcoin investment, especially in trading. Yes, it can be very stressful, but I cope and end up enjoying trading and holding. I also like fulfilment when you win a trade. That's why I'm addicted to crypto-related stuff, and it's solely for the sake of earning a lot of money. I don't know, maybe just for me, but for me, that is the reason why I do crypto stuff and overcome the effects of it that could cause humans to go insane. Cryptocurrency is no joke; one wrong move and it will cost you something.
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan Chase are participating in 5 categories of cryptocurrency. Jamie lies! on: February 01, 2024, 10:30:28 PM
Well, funny, right? But because bitcoin or crypto currency cannot be affected by people who s popular saying ill and saying bad stuff about bitcoin or crypto currency they are not afraid to say negative things about bitcoin or crypto currency, they have their own reason such as jamie, he is a business man and in government so in order to be in government side he needs to show to them that he is not into cryptocurrency but in reality it is the opposite and I think not just jamie, but many more businessman or popular people do crypto currency but they dont want to reveal it or say that they are an investors, no matter what we say we cannot ignore that crypto currency has a very big potential and will make you a good amount of money if sone correctly. So they can't help but ignore the presence and potential of crypto currency, no matter how they try to prove to themselves that there is no good at crypto; it will be changed once they try it at first.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship Between Cryptocurrency and Traditional Banking on: February 01, 2024, 09:58:45 PM
Traditional bank have been functional for a very long time, while Bitcoin has only lasted a decade. The government of most countries who feel threatened by the fascinating growth of Bitcoin and other cryptocureency have ban cryptocureency in their country and they will make sure citizens abide by those laws. The action of the government can tell us that they will never allow the traditional banking sector to get defeated by cryptocureency unless they are very sure that if they approved of it, every thing about crypto will be under their control so that they can also operate the crypto Industry in a decentralized system.
Yes, crypto currency or bitcoin may be powerful, but I don't think that the government or banks are afraid of or threatened by the presence of bitcoin. This is because banking has been around for a long time and the banking system runs the whole world; it's where the countries get their money to run the country, etc.

The banking system is complex, and we can't understand it even if we want to, but they play a very important role in the world, so why would the bank be afraid of bitcoin or crypto? The reason they ban or prohibit the use of bitcoin or crypto is because of its decentralisation; they can't track who is who and where, and they also can't manipulate or control it. In fact, some banks are offering crypto services such as buying or trading, so I think instead of treating bitcoin or crypto as a threat, some banks are adopting crypto as part of their services, which is a good indication that there may be a good combination of banking and crypto currency.
667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NOT BUYING ANY COIN, BUT STILL TRADING on: February 01, 2024, 09:46:56 PM
I think you are discussing about the gambling. In gambling you don't need to buy any thing. You just put a long position if it hits you will get your profit and if it goes opposites then you will get a specified loss as per your investment.
I did not experience the gambling, but people's are making lot of money by doing this.
I think not, because this section is about trading. The OP is referring to a binary option where you will be associated with a broker that sells stocks, so they are the ones who will contact the potential investors, so it is impossible not to buy anything or stake money in crypto currency, but the thing is, associating with brokers might be very dangerous as some of them may be scams, so it's better to don't invest if you don't want to by anything, because in crypto investment you will need to buy assets in order to earn. And for you, gambling is different. Yes, you will not buy anything like assets, but it is too risky as there is a large percentage that you will lose your money there, and it is also not recommended or treated as an investment. I don't know why many people who want to be investors want to make money in an easy way. Please give some time and effort if you really want to earn something.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 01, 2024, 02:59:10 PM
No, avoiding smoking at first will give more health benefits. You see, smoking is a slow killer, meaning the person who is addicted to smoking will someday pay for the consequences in terms of health-related issues. I don't know why it should be discussed because it's common sense that without smoking people will have benefits in terms of health. It's not about quitting smoking that will give you health benefits; it's about how you will avoid it from the start. I've known a lot of my friends or colleagues who smoke, and because they are addicted to it, even though they know the bad effects of smoking, they will want to do it because they can't control themselves. It's the same as being addicted to smoking or whatever, but it's all about how you will help those who need to be awakened from their addictions until its not too late for them to change.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 01, 2024, 01:50:18 PM
That proverb is just a saying that can give false hope to the gambler, and it is also a totally nonsense proverb. Who the hell thinks that way? If a gambler actually thinks this way or believes in this, then they are also insane. But those who can easily be swayed will follow this kind of saying because they will feel the urge to gamble more, thinking that they can have the desired win or money. Not just this saying exists; there are many more nonsense sayings or beliefs about gambling winnings, but in reality, there are no such sayings that are right that will urge gamblers to gamble more. This is just misleading for those who can't control themselves from gambling or who are totally addicted to gambling and will believe in no-sense ideas just to satisfy their desires in gambling. Thankfully, I don't have the poor mind or weak will to believe in this kind of nonsense phrase.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 11:32:03 AM
Well, nope when it comes to like consulting to something or doing rituals just to win to a gambling, no absolutely, its because I'm not sure if it exist but selling my soul just to win in a gambling will be absurd or totally insane to do, maybe I have my own beliefs or ritual before playing or during, for example I in a slot I only do 3 spin after that I will stop and come back again some other times or after a while, because I believe in the probability of slots so I hope by doing a set of rolls and letting others to do the roll with their money I can hit a jackpot, and many more rituals or things to do before I engage or during playing, but at the end of the day no matter how we will do rituals or praying to win, no such person will always bestowed by luck and win always that's the reality of gambling.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 01, 2024, 06:37:33 AM
Well, for me in terms of gambling, no matter how much I like that team or specific player, if I see that they don't have the chance to win or if the opposing team is most likely to win, then I'm okay with betting on the opposing team of my favourite team. hy? Money, even how a fan you are in a sport, will you let yourself lose in a bet or lose money just because you are being stubborn and ignoring the fact that your favourite team will lose and will cost you money because you still bet on them? Let's be practical, or I'll be practical if it's about gambling, then I don't care who's team I choose as long as they have the chance to win and they will give money to me. I'm still a fan of my favourite team, but money is money, and I can't ignore the fact that there are stronger teams aside from them.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: January 31, 2024, 10:19:27 PM
Well, as they say, better start no matter how much it is. Congratulations on your courage to start investing in the bitcoin or crypto currency world. The fact that you've allocated an amount of money to buy an asset means you have the will to continue investing in crypto. This may be the start of your journey, but remember, you're not just going to buy and sell; I think you know that you need to hone your knowledge and skills in terms of crypto currency or bitcoin if you want to focus on one currency only for the time being.

I guess you should move your holdings to a cold wallet rather than a secured wallet if you will just hodl an asset because storing it on a platform like Binance is unsafe. I mean, just to make sure that your asset will be untouched secured. Im not saying that Binance is not a secured platform; its just to make sure that nothing will compromise your asset.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 31, 2024, 10:00:00 PM
any source of pleasure can make us dependent but some are definitely better than other, of course
one should always watch their actions and their thoughts and be alert all the time to not deviate too much from a moral and ethical way.

that is important to keep in mind to live a good life

Yes, as long as gamblers still maintain their common sense, this shouldn't be a significant problem. But if it leads to criminal activity, or continues to try to continue gambling even though it has exceeded the limit, this could indicate that he has lost his moral and ethical way. They will become victims of gambling who may not be able to maintain their attitudes and ethics due to their emotional instability
Common sense is not enough for a gambler to be responsible in gambling; there are many things a responsible gambler has, and one of the most important is their mind and will. Mind: If a gambler has a strong mind and follows his mind when making decisions, then he or she should know when to stop and what they are doing wrong. From there, they will stop if they see that they are addicted or that gambling is corrupting them. In short, a gambler with good thinking will be aware of what he is doing and can identify if it is wrong or not. A gambler's strong will can stop and limit itself from overgambling or overspending on gambling; in that way, no matter what influence or urge they feel, their will to limit themselves will be more dominant. So aside from what the OP stated, there are more important aspects to be considered for a gambler to be responsible.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 09:31:10 PM
It depends on your skills and knowledge. I think first you need to identify what you are good at, whether it is trading or holding bitcoin, because even just holding bitcoin, you still need some analysis of where to enter or what price you should enter in the market. Trading can be more complex because you will need to know a lot of things, such as technical analysis and indicators, and many more things that could help you trade efficiently. Although it's too complex, the reward will depend on how you trade, so the answer depends on you. But for me, I do both. Yes, I'm not at an expert level in trading, just enough to earn some good profit, but will I trade? I also do bitcoin holdings, saving up for a bull run or selling in a profitable position, which is more like a long-term profit, so even if you are just sitting your assets there, you can guarantee a profit in the long run.
675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tokens or coins, which one is better or gives more profits? on: January 31, 2024, 03:17:17 PM
Well, for me, which of the two could provide more profit? Yes, there is a difference, but the thing is, the amount of profit a trader will make depends on how skilled and knowledgeable he is. No matter what coin or token you tried, if you don't know how to properly trade, then expect the losses.

Coins are crypto coins that are created from the same or derived from the bitcoin technology, while tokens are created solely for a project so that they could support the project and will act as the centre or currency of that project. But in terms of which is more profitable, as I say, it will depend on the trade and how he timings the entry and exit in the market. There are many tokens that increased in price, but not for too long, so if you see that movement through analysis, then it will be a big profit.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: January 31, 2024, 11:13:35 AM
Well, I experienced and am experiencing this problem right now when it comes to loans or debt. Currently,  I have quite a large amount of debt, and I'm paying it little by little or when the payment is due, before or on time. The thing is, because of trading, I pushed to do loans because I made one mistake that cost me a lot and tried to recover it, but sadly, it didn't go well. That's why I end up using loan apps to have money when I'm short financially. What is the lesson here? Well, despite having debt through loans, I didn't miss any payment date because I knew the consequences of delayed payment. It would make the debt bigger even more, so as much as I could, I did my best to pay on time. Where do I get the money? Well,  I have a stable job and found other side hustles and crypto investments. Right now, I am trading because I need to pay all my debts first.
677  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 31, 2024, 08:23:28 AM

No progression means you are no different from someone who have no source of income, I know someone who work so hard, I mean the hard jobs, that I can't even do, but at the end of the month when he gets paid he always waste everything on gambling, as if something told him that gambling is the way in this world for him.

Even if a person has a successful source of income and he still stagnant on what he is doing, just like a cycle over the years, there's a possibility that this person will not become successful in his life and tends to become broke in the future. All the money that he got will surely spent in a not so important things. I didn't meant to say that gambling is not that important, but if you can't handle yourself, you will become addicted. Just a piece of advice, Always know your priorities and know how to handle yourself, your spending habits and your self control.
No, from the looks of this, that person will never succeed in life or even survive in life if he keeps on doing what he is doing. Imagine you are working your ass so hard and you still think of wasting it on gambling. Does that person don't know the value of money despite how hard he works to earn it? If he still prioritises gambling before anything and keeps on doing that, then there will be no future for him.

If a person wastes their hard-earned money just to satisfy their addiction to gambling, then they deserve to experience the consequences of doing gambling. I'm not saying that people who have a minimum wage should not gamble, but limit or know when to gamble, because if you need that money and you lose it in a gamble, then you just add another problem and you make yourself deep in suffering.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: January 31, 2024, 05:31:24 AM
We can't blame them, but in sad reality, this is what the people who own a gambling establishment or online casino are taking advantage of. They are taking advantage of the people's desire to have a lot of money through gambling and also of the desperation of the gamblers. and the OP's friend is one of the examples of gamblers who become desperate, and the only option he thinks is to gamble, even knowing the risk of losing money. Imagine the pressure and feeling of losing money from gambling, and worst of all, that is the only money you have left. Did the example do it right? Why would you risk your last dollar? In a bad situation, the feeling would be crashing for that gambler, but it's his fault he risks it, and then he pays for the consequence. So the important advice here is that if you are desperate to have money, then stay away from gambling because it will bring nothing good.
679  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: January 30, 2024, 11:34:07 PM
Both are risky, and no matter what level of risk they have, they still have risk, so I think I will treat these two kinds of businesses as the same. So in my opinion, what business will be more risky and which business you should choose will still depend on the business owner or the person who will do the business. Not all people have the knowledge to do business online, as it is complex, and not all people also have the knowledge or skill to do business physically, so it depends on the knowledge or skill the person has. That would be his business type, and of course, choosing what you are good at is what you must do in order to make your business grow. Choosing where you are good at and what platform or place you know where your business will boom is part of handling the business, so no matter what risk a physical business or an online business has, if the person who will build a business is good at one of these, then no matter how risky it is, that person will choose that platform.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the challenges people who accept bitcoin face in their businesses face on: January 30, 2024, 10:29:37 PM
Well, both reasons are one of those reasons why many businesses can't easily apply the crypto payment, and those two reasons are just a few of those reasons why adopting bitcoin or crypto currency payment will be a challenge to a business. Some of those businesses are not knowledgeable about crypto currency. Even if they want to offer this service, they don't know how to handle the process or what the best approach and strategy is when it comes to accepting crypto. The other is that some crypto investors or holders will choose not to use their assets as payment. Imagine always paying using bitcoin; then you will not have enough holdings, and honestly, for me, I'd rather not use my assets as payment because they are for my investments. In short, there are much more challenges to face when it comes to adopting crypto currency in a business, and it is risky if not handled and managed correctly.
