1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My little research. on: October 24, 2023, 01:16:53 PM
You do not need to incorperate Bitcoin payment into your business at this level since you said its a "little business", the volatility that goes with the cryptocurrencies has no regards for what level of business you are currently running, it can make you fortunate and can also go north, depending on what the market presents.

I mean, SMEs and freelancers can simply put a QR code or even a wallet address just to enable Bitcoin payments. Why need for payment processor? It's going to convert everything to fiat anyway.

If you want crypto payments pointless to force crypto users to pay high fees for using processor when it's cheaper + secure to send to your wallet direct!

I agree; I don't see a point wherein the OP will include bitcoin or crypto payments, as he himself says that the business is small. I'm not discriminating; in fact, it is good that you have a business and yet you still study, like bitcoin, to earn more. I salute the OP with that, but I don't think including bitcoin payments will be a good idea for you and for your business. People, even crypto holders, are still not ready for that concept. Yes, there are some willing to do that, but not all. It is still a small percentage. And I think you are not ready to accept that concept, as you still said that you are new in this field or in bitcoin. I guess just focus on growing your business first, and then little by little, you may include bitcoin in your business. That would be great that you are futuristic.
1242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Before you take sides on: October 24, 2023, 10:39:48 AM
Before you take sides with gamblers claiming they get banned for winning too much, remember that casinos are good at monitoring and preventing fraudulent behaviors, you break some rules you are out, and no cheater want to admit that they cheat.

Many gamblers have the experience of getting banned and the next thing that comes to their mind was the injustice from the gambling platform, they wouldn't want to pay attention to the areas where they are also missing out, all the wrong steps they have also taken and the rate of what they have done in violation of their rules, all they will be shouting is for being banned, the casino is scam and they go ahead to report for scam accusation without mentioning their own side at fault.

But licensed casino will never ever do that according to this article Can Casinos Kick You Out for Winning  "In general, the answer is no. Casinos are not allowed to ask patrons to leave simply because they are winning. This is because it is illegal for casinos to discriminate against patrons based on their race, gender, or any other protected class. Additionally, this would be a violation of the patron’s right to due process and would be considered unfair and unethical." It simply state that no matter how much a gambler win he/she cannot be legally kicked out of the casino unless they violate certain rules, the casino that would do that can face charges from the gamblers if found guilty and it will cost them much or worst be closed. So I think getting kicked out in casino because of winning too much is more likely happening less, maybe some there are some cases but I think those casinos are scam.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 24, 2023, 08:52:20 AM
I don't know if there is a specific time when I'm lucky in gambling. Over the course of 5 years, I still don't know when or how often I'm lucky when I gamble, but I feel it. There are times that I have a strong hunch. If I'm lucky, I will strongly feel confident, but I still don't know the formula for or when that strong hunch will come. It's not always, but it helps me a lot, so I often follow my hunch and instinct as I prove that it has quite a bit of accuracy. But not because of that, I will be addicted. No, I still have control over when I play or how much money I bet. If I let myself sink into thinking that I have a strong instinct, I know it will be a bad decision for me, so I still gamble wisely and bet wisely to minimise my losses.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: October 24, 2023, 07:24:47 AM
How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin ?

Well, I think I still have opportunities to profit from bitcoin at that price, but if, for instance, it happens right now, I will lose a lot of money as I hold quite a bit of bitcoin as my long-term investment. But if it happens, I will accept it and start to analyse the bitcoin price again to see if it will rise again. If so, I will buy and hold a lot of bitcoin again and wait for the price to go up or bull run. Just like what happened earlier this date, bitcoin shocked a lot of holders as it made a quite bull run from $30,000 to $35,000, which I missed and regret. But I'm happy because it is a sign that bitcoin might do a huge bull run that many people await, and I hope it might surpass its own all-time high. and I can't wait for that to happen, so I think $1 million worth of bitcoin might be impossible.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 24, 2023, 05:29:09 AM
I experienced this in lottery games. I quit playing since I cannot afford to lose over and over again. I need to save money instead of using it into gambling. The salary I got from my day job was just wasted on gambling during that time. I only got small savings for my daily needs. I might gamble back but with caution.

It's a good decision to quit gambling at the start when you realise that you don't want to lose money anymore. It's a good thing you noticed, and you wake up early rather than sinking yourself into stuff you know you can't afford. As you say, you only use your salary to fund your gambling. I advised that if you think you will not win in that game or if you know that it will not be a good path, then I suggest you don't come back again in that game. If you really want to gamble, maybe find another game that suits you. Lottery games only rely on luck, so you never know when you will win. You might win, but it may cost you a lot, which is not good. So I think you better find another game and, of course, prepare capital that you can afford to lose.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 23, 2023, 11:44:40 PM
It's better to invest for the long term if you don't have comprehensive knowledge about trading because you might end up losing your capital if you mess up with the wrong moves. in order to be a successful trader you need to go through a lot of trial and error and you need a lot of money from that because it needs personal experience in order to catch up and learn the movement of the price and how trading works in the crypto market. therefore, you can just simply invest and hold for the long term and at the same time, read some basic knowledge regarding trade.

Investing doesn't mean you will just hold a currency or crypto; it still requires analysis and knowledge. why? Investing in or holding a cryptocurrency is not just buying and waiting to earn. No, that's not it. You will first need to know if this price is the right price to buy or if this is the right time to buy and hold. What if you buy bitcoin at a certain price but it doesn't go well? There's a right timing and certain point perfect to buy and hold a coin. So both investing and trading require knowledge and analysis; it's just that they have different levels. Well, it depends on the person's reference to what they can do and what they want to do. But for me, it has the same risk and a lot of profit potential. For me, I do both trading for short-term earnings and investing or holding for long-term earnings.
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: October 23, 2023, 11:15:58 PM

Quitting gambling is easy to say but very difficult to do, it's the same as being addicted to alcohol or cigarettes and maybe drugs too but that doesn't mean it can't be treated. It's curable, you just need to be strong, think positive always. You will get through it just don't give up.

One of the best thing to do to completely forget those addictions are to do something that will make you forget it by going with others who helps you not to think about it until you don't have any cravings about your addictions. That's why people when they are completely addicted to alcohol drinks or any other things like drugs, choose to go to rehabilitation in order to cure themselves along with others who want to change their lives positively with the help of some expert advisers.

But sometimes, due to severe addiction, even asking for help from your friends or family will not change anything; only you will make the change. Yes, we could rely on rehabilitation, but we don't have a guarantee that it will work. I know a lot of cases that undergo rehabilitation, but still, a few months later, when they have a taste of gambling again, even the slightest will make them unstoppable again. The only solution I think is to let that person learn his lesson; if he is beyond help, then let them suffer; let them discover themselves and the consequences of their actions. I'm sure they will face a certain point that will change them, and they will quit gambling by themselves. But still, things could go wrong, and that, I think, is up to them. They are the ones who want that; they are the ones who're responsible for themselves.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 23, 2023, 09:07:18 PM
Here in the Philippines, cockfighting is still popular among the middle- to old-aged; it is still around, and many people still do this stuff, especially men who are also fathers. It is very prominent in the Philippine province, and I'd say it is entertaining to watch this kind of betting because you will choose which chicken you want to bet on. I personally sometimes bet on this kind of game. Even if cockfighting seems like a traditional way of gambling, it still copes by means of social media. Right now, they offer online betting where you can watch the live stream of two chickens fighting. It only shows that this kind of traditional gambling can still be around by utilising the internet. So because of that, many more people bet on this gambling game because it's accessible and easy to play. Just place a bet and wait to see who wins.
Wihout judging, what do you see people getting from that? Do people in generally care that animals are needlessly hurt? Do you? What it was bigger animals? Like monkeys, dogs, cats, cows or elephants? Would it be as entertaining and why?

And still i am not judging but just wondering what their and your motivations are. Do you realize that anmals can't give their consent to being part of it? It's not like they choose to fight. They are in the situation that humans put them in where they can't escape from and it's basically fight or die. I am just interested how some people see this as entertainement, and how their thoughts on this differ to me. To me this is just a sad and cruel way to see that people's empathy doesn't reach to animals.
"Cockfighting" it only involves chicken, and based on this post legalonlinegambling Philippines set up a law which is HB 8910 gives the GAB the ability to completely oversee e-sabong gambling regulation and governance. This will bring the act of online cockfighting out of the back alleys and illegal betting operations and into the limelight of legal gambling in the Philippines. It means even cockfighting is illegal in the past, now they set up a law which will make cockfighting legal just they should follow a certain rules and law. And cockfighting doesn't mean that an animal or the chicken will die, its like a boxing, there are certain grounds that could determine who is the winner. I understand your concern but we can't control this stuff, just like horse racing or such, don't be a hypocrite, you eat meat everyday.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 23, 2023, 12:40:46 PM

If you take a look at the history behind cockfighting, you will realize it is a very ancient practice in many places where those animals were available for the folk population to raise and breed.
I do not know much about Bangladesh, but I would not be surprised if it was very widespread in the past and now has continued to be practiced in villages in that country, because the traditional weight it has.
Here in my country, we may not have as much history with that tradition, and yet we still partake in it, being Bangladesh a country of the old world with longer history and access to cocks.

In the end, all of this goes back onto the tradition versus progress argument. Whether tradition is such of a an important thing, so it is necessary to make animals to fight themselves in a savage way.

The cock fighting was the very old way of the gambling by our previous generation, the ancient people use the animals for the gambling. The history says that, the gambler will play the cock fight and breed the winning cock to the next generation.Actually they will kill the beaten cock and eat as their food. This was the strongest belief by the cock fighting in most of the cock fighting origin countries.Actually in your country Bangladesh, the gambler will do the cock fighting. The cock fighting was still available at the Pakistan,India,Vietnam and some of the Asian countries. This country people had huge wish on this game.

1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin were a physical currency. on: October 23, 2023, 10:31:01 AM
If bitcoin doesn't exist or is a physical currency, then nothing; if bitcoin is just a normal currency, then it is like what we use now; we don't have any forums like this or anything related to bitcoin. And I think nothing will change if bitcoin is just a normal currency because it is physical. But thankfully, bitcoin is digital. Why? Because from a project to nothing, now the most famous digital currency has created a lot of opportunities to earn. It also marked the beginning of the crypto currency era, with more currencies emerging to provide more options for investors and holders. And now bitcoin is becoming the future currency and will eventually change a lot of things in terms of finances. I'm glad I spend time knowing and studying bitcoin as it gives me opportunity to earn and do the things I like, buy the things I want.
1251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: October 23, 2023, 08:27:32 AM
I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
Some of them I think has this addiction thing but some may have the ability to be a profitable gambler or might have the higher chance of luck. If you bet once and then become successful then that is 100% pure luck. Ratio could be 1000bets/1luck so we need more bets to become successful in gambling therefore if we keep on chasing the jackpot I think it might lead us to addiction.
But that only makes you addicted and, in the worst case, suffers from great loss. As you said, the ration can be 1000 bets per luck. The word "luck" implies that we will never know when it will come, so it has either a good or bad impact. Relying on gambling to become successful is not a good idea. Maybe some people become rich because of gambling, like Lotto, but that doesn't mean it will apply to everyone else. Based on my research, there are more people who become poorer or richer than others because of gambling. Yes, because of addiction, and what factor leads them to addiction—simply hoping to become rich or just for a hobby? So I think "successful" and "addict" are not good things to be together. Why? Addictions mean bad. Even if you've gained a fortune in gambling and still gamble excessively, there's still a chance that you will get back what you've started or worse, become worse.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: October 23, 2023, 06:46:53 AM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.
Like in gambling, if there is no win, there are also no addictions, because what makes people more addicted to gambling is the some of the gains they get from gambling, but if there are no winnings in gambling then there will also be low gambling addictions, however, first time gamblers can not be easily addicted to gamble because they haven't experienced big wins but if incase they starts experiencing winnings the addictions and love for gambling will start.
I disagree. I know a few people who get addicted to gambling, even if they start gambling and face losses. According to them, they become addicted because of the thrill, even if they don't win at all in a day. They still play. It's not about how big or small you win or whether you win or lose; it's about the desire of people to earn money in an easy way. Desire is the root reason why people are addicted to gambling; it's the same as any other vice; they smoke because of their desire to be relieved. So I'm against what you are saying; it just is not always the case that there are gambling addicts. Some got addicted because of others influence; there are many other ways to get addicted. I personally admit that I became addicted to gambling at some point in my life because of the desire to earn money and buy the things I desired. It's all about "desire.".
1253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 23, 2023, 04:55:00 AM

That's what we have to do when gambling so that we won't experience any problems and there is no desire to recover losses if we lose. If we can gamble with small money, that is enough, especially if our goal in gambling is just to get pleasure so that even if we lose, our losses will not be too big. But it will be different if we place bets again in the next round many times and cannot control our gambling. Even though it is small money, if we calculate it as a whole, the amount of loss will be large and if we don't realize it, we will lose a lot of money.

Many gambler are doing the random betting with low money as the capital,So if they loss the complete money at the initial time. This won’t affect the gambler because of the small money used for the betting. Some gambler with huge interest in gambling will made the big betting on certain games,If they win means it will be far better one.But if they loss the game, leads to the big loss in the gambling. So the gambler who get the big loss will wait for the longer period to get into gambling again. The gambler should allow some gap between each loss in the gambling,So the next games will be the winning for the gambler.

Yes, a gambler who puts in little capital means minimal damage if they experience a loss, but those little capitals will have an impact if the gambler has a lot of bets or games; more sessions or bets with a small amount are not different from one played with big capital. The most efficient way to stay away from gambling and minimise the damage is to set boundaries and limits. I also experienced that case wherein I only put a small amount as capital, but I didn't notice that I do a lot of betting, resulting in a big loss that affected me badly. That's why it's important to me to set only a limit in terms of my bet and the betting amount itself. So I disagree with your opinion, but this is also my opinion, so no hard feelings. But sometimes I do big betting which is risky but also have a huge profit potential
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 23, 2023, 02:34:36 AM
Bitcoin investors desire quick returns and may become tired of holding their coins due to fear. However, they can still be part of Bitcoin by being open to new ideas and not viewing it solely as a means to make money. They perceive Bitcoin as riskier than their professions, as they don't fully trust it.

Well, we can't blame them; they enter bitcoin hoping to earn a lot, as they foresee the potential of bitcoin or how popular it is right now. I'd say bitcoin is not for a person who doesn't have the patience or financial state to sustain their investment. Why? It's because investing in bitcoin, while potentially lucrative, requires a significant amount of time and patience; unlike trading, you don't place your trade and expect it to profit the next day. But in order to earn a lot, you need to wait, and of course, you need to think carefully before making your trade or investment. So for those who desire quick profit, sometimes they are the ones that face a miserable situation because of bitcoin; they are the ones who blame bitcoin, but the truth is, they are the ones who place themselves in that situation. You are right; bitcoin or any crypto is not for people who desire a fast profit.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: October 22, 2023, 11:40:31 PM
Well, I have two boundaries when it comes to playing gambling in a casino or online casino. The first is that if I hit a significant amount of profit from it, let's say I have $100 in capital, and if I double it, that's it. If, for instance, it goes the opposite, if I lose my capital, then I will stop. I will not chase my losses, as I know it is risky and can go bad further. Well, it depends on how people set their limits; some do not, and some, like me, follow a certain limit, which I think is the most efficient way if you want to earn and minimise the loss. But I'm a person only, so sometimes I go by my limit. In instances where I feel I'm in luck, I would bet further, but of course I will secure my capital; I will only bet the money that I have gained, like a break even in trading.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 22, 2023, 11:00:16 PM

_ Avoid trading altcoin: you are not a genius trader, you will eventually get burned.

This is one of the most common problems for other crypto traders or holders. They tend to risk new coins just to hope to ride the bull run, but it can be the opposite because some of the altcoins are scams or, let's say, don't have the potential to earn. One thing is that many people on social media promote altcoin just for their own benefits. I personally trade or do stuff in altcoins, and it didn't go well. That's why I only rely on bitcoin, as I can see a lot of things related to bitcoin, get some tips in this forum about bitcoin, and because bitcoin is more popular, there will be a lot of potential profit, especially in trading, as many people trade on it, and because of that, the price could change. In short, it creates a potential profit. So from now on I don't get involved in altcoins.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 22, 2023, 09:29:07 PM
What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
One way to tackle gambling addiction without spending a lot of money is by finding an activity that you enjoy, and that keeps you entertained and engaged enough to lose track of time. The key to finding such an activity is to understand yourself better. It's important to explore your interests and passions and find something that truly resonates with you. Once you've found that activity, make time for it regularly to help you stay focused and prevent the temptation of gambling.

You possess the power to transform your life, which doesn't always require therapy. You can make positive changes on your own.

But also keep in mind that there are gamblers out there who're beyond help by themselves. Although therapy is a good solution to aid the addiction of a gambler, it's still up to that person if he's going to change. The therapy is useless if the person doesn't have the conviction to change. It's two-way therapy. That's why I believe the most lost cost to aiding addiction is yourself and your drive to change; without that, the gambler will never stop until the end of the line. A possible solution also is to socialise with friends and family; they could help you divert your attention; they could help you realise how bad it may be for you if you keep ondiving yourself in your addiction. I think therapy or rehabilitation is the last option if the person is in need of help; it is costly and doesn't guarantee that the person will change.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 19 years old boy living in South korea. Please give me an advice on: October 22, 2023, 01:05:37 PM
Do not listen to people saying you will lose money, there is no way you can lose money investing in Bitcoin
Op can lose their coins if they do not know what they are doing, i don't think op understands much about BTC and it is worth mentioning to newbies that BTC is not a risk-free investment. Op has to understand what they are doing, if not they can easily lose their coins to scammers. BTC doesn't also give profit immediately, so if op isn't patient, they can sell their coins at a loss and lose a part of their money.
I agree with this. It's better to say to a newbie in crypto the harsh reality that crypto or bitcoin isn't something that if you think you want to invest in it, you will do it. It's not that simple; entering into bitcoin without knowledge or an idea about it will cost you badly. I'm not gatekeeping, just saying that bitcoin should not be taken lightly just because you see its hype or you see that it is in demand these days. And bitcoin can't give you a guarantee that you will earn from it. That's why I suggest that someone who wants to be involved in bitcoin first read forums like this one so they can pick up a lot of understanding and knowledge necessary for their bitcoin journey so they will not be in a miserable situation and regret their decision. So yeah its okay to be honest and harsh if you want to help somebody.
1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: October 22, 2023, 12:10:29 PM
~ Emotional problem will arise as the main provider will have a big problem with his finances, gambling addiction affects the lives of everyone that surrounds that person, especially if he's already have an obligation to provide the needs of his family, I guess all are depends from how the person carry the load, addiction might not be possible if the person is busy taking care of his life and the obligation that he needed to take care.

That is certainly true. To avoid gambling addiction it's important to keep yourself busy with other things. Don't think it's boring in the first place. It's not. Life is also gambling in a way, and if you look at it like that, you'll find all those attractions of gambling in your life too. Gambling also can take part in all that, but only a small part, not the main one.

Yes, instead of gambling, find another means of earning. If that person really aims to earn money and does gambling thinking that he or she could profit from it and doesn't do well, then I suggest finding another hustle like investment or trading. In that way, they could divert their attention to other things. I personally once experienced being a gambling addict and experienced a great loss, but when I realised that I divert my attention to trading, which is also hard but worthy, right now even if I do gambling just a little or a few times, I still have a decent way of earning. It is risky, yes, but it's more fine than wasting too much money on gambling. I only treat gambling as my hobby and make sure I don't go overboard with my gambling boundaries. So I agree to divert attention to other things instead of getting stuck in gambling and suffering more.
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your doubt has no effect on gambling. on: October 22, 2023, 08:23:31 AM
I disagree. It's normal to have doubts about gambling or your play, especially if you are experiencing a continuous loss. It will affect your gambling strategy and your decision-making. Maybe in your situation it's not because you won, or, in short, you didn't let yourself be affected by your doubt. I have experienced a lot of that kind of situation. That's why I train myself to not be affected by my doubt; instead, I use my mind and focus only on what I'm doing, because I believe having a clear mind in the middle of gambling will help you to decide and think carefully. If you let doubt take over, then it's over. You will certainly never think straight while gambling. Anyway, congrats on your win. From a small profit, it becomes a big profit, which is a good sign that you have luck. Keep up and earn more. I hope I also have the luck you have.
