1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 11:18:29 PM
If I knew the lady, I would say her fiance is a red flag; there are more scenarios like that that could happen to them in the future. What the guy just made is a decision wherein he didn't think before he used the hard-earned money. I get it; he only wants to help, but the method he chose is not a good idea. You see, it shows how reckless he is about money; he didn't hesitate to waste all that $5 million just to gamble. I don't care about his intention to help; if you are in your right mind, you will never ever use the money for your wedding for something that is too risky. I'm not saying to break up with him I know you love him but you should not trust your fiance in terms of money handling, because he did it once and it could hav more.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 26, 2023, 10:54:00 PM
Quote
But here it seems like there is little interest in this, is that because horse racing is just unpopular or is it because, well,.... the casinos that sponsor most signatures here are not promoting it?

I come from a country, where horse racing isn't popular at all. I mean literally nobody gives a sh*t about horse racing where I live. Sad
AFAIK, horse racing in popular in the anglo-saxon countries like the UK and USA. I don't know why. I don't mind betting on horse racing, but I just don't find it interesting. I can't predict which horse is better than the other horses and can't analyze the performance of the horses and their riders. I don't think that crypto casinos actively promoting horse race betting around the forum would change anything. This sport simply isn't popular in certain parts of the world.

There are countries where horse racing is popular but there are many countries where horse racing is not popular and here in my country I belong to unpopular in actual game which means  that, casino and gambling site here in my country don't have that game. anyways some of my fellow countrymen invented a game which known as Karera and when you bet 1 bucks then you have a chance to win 100x or more when you win but sad to say it's hard to win that game.

In my country, horse racing betting is still one of the most popular forms of gambling. Just like cockfighting, the game itself is a history and is considered a tradition and rare; it is only limited. Horse race betting is a fun game. In the past, we also had a digital version of it called "video karera," or video race. You just bet by putting coins in the machine and choosing which horse to bet on. But it is considered illegal since it is a machine that even a young person could play. I'm one of them at a young age. I used to play "video karera." It was fun because all you needed was a coin and you would feel the thrill, but yeah, it is illegal as many people at a young age are exposed to gambling. Sadly video karera doesn't exist now but the real horse race still exist and still popular.
1223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most weird thing you bought with crypto? on: October 26, 2023, 09:46:00 PM
Well, I don't think or have a thing that I brought using cryptocurrency, mainly because in my country, using crypto as payment is still not accepted or regulated. There are some, but they are rare. Things I brought with the help of bitcoin: there are many of them. Thanks to bitcoin investment and trading, I brought many things such as a PC, smartphone, TV, etc. Anything related to electronics, and of course, basic needs and even trips Maybe I don't have stuff brought with the use of bitcoin itself, but I brought what I have right now because of bitcoin and my dedication to earn from it. I know it's the same case for most of us here on this topic. But if, in the future, bitcoin or any crypto can be used as payment, then it would be a good idea; bitcoin will be more useful and powerful if that happens.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 26, 2023, 07:37:09 PM
I get why people keep betting even when they lose.  Each new bet feels exciting and hopeful, like maybe this one will be the big win.  It's kinda like chasing a high.  For other folks, it's just entertainment, even if they're not winning and  theres also the social part - some enjoy betting with friends and chatting about it.

What's so fun about betting, even if you are losing? Where is the entertainment there? Chasing losses is the worst thing that a gambler will do, and I don't think there is a gambler out there who is still entertained despite having suffered a lot of losses or facing numerous losses. I don't know if you know what you are saying. Maybe for you, you still enjoy that, but not for the other gamblers, because when you lose, there's no entertainment in it. That's why I don't disagree with your statement. Example: If you lose big, will that be okay with you? No, of course you are a person who loses money that you've earned. I don't discriminate against you; your understanding of gambling seems wrong. I know many readers here also disagree with you, and if you do what you are saying, please stop that. Losing in gambling is not fun; that's not entertainment.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is different from other means of investment on: October 26, 2023, 09:38:24 AM
Those who are confident enough to take risks, they can choose Bitcoin as the main investment. And those who want to stay on the safe side they can go for real estate investment.
The idea that Bitcoin is risky is what I find so confusing. In what ways do you think Bitcoin is risky? If you invest in real estate, you will give it some years before you break even. But if the investment is in Bitcoin, the profits will be expected within a short time... why the double standard? Since the advent of Bitcoin, anyone who invested in Bitcoin and allow a period of five to ten years is surely in good profits, where then is the risk?

The post gave a good example of the risk associated with real estate that was never envisaged. That is to show that even though Bitcoin is erroneously assumed to be risky and real estate safer, the reverse might actually be the case.

Maybe for you, bitcoin is not too risky, but as we know, bitcoin is a volatile coin, or its price is volatile. I prefer bitcoin to the real state, but I disagree with you saying bitcoin is not risky. Maybe not for you, but for other bitcoin holders or normal people that are starting to explore bitcoin, it would be risky for them, and it is also considered not safe all the time. Remember, bitcoin also has pros and cons, and not everyone could take the risk or manipulate the risk for their own good. Also short time? Not always. If you really aim for a big profit in bitcoin, it will take a long time, depending on your holdings, of course. So I'd say bitcoin is still risky, depending on whether the person who's investing in it is new or not. The wrong move could cost the investor, you also.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: October 26, 2023, 07:41:10 AM
I see a lot of people that is hesitant in KYC or doesn't trust KYC based on this wesbite KYC (Know Your Customer): Why Casinos Ask you for Documents "The purpose of KYC in gambling (and other verticals) is to identify customers to ensure that their IDs are legitimate and to identify risk factors with said customers." it is for customer's own good, and also for the casino, I get it many are worried that if they giver their personal information it could a scam but  in reality no, KYC is used to protect your funds and ensure that the money or balance you will withdrawn will be directed to you only. not just for the customer only. The casino ask KYC  because there are thousands of online casinos, and the KYC process of these might slightly differ as it depends on the Anti-Money Laundering legislation applicable to their jurisdiction, licenses, and markets. in short it is also used to avoid laundering or another illegal activity where online casino coud be involved.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is my plan. on: October 26, 2023, 05:29:45 AM
Here's the thing op. So many people keep saying that now is the best time to buy BTC since it's price is low and it will increase and reach its new ATH later, but that's all wishful thinking since BTC can even drop like crazy.

There is no guarantee that you will earn profit on your investment at any point in the future which is why you should invest only what you are willing to lose.
- Hey, can I ask you a question? If now isn't a good time to buy BTC, when do you think is a good time? When it hits its all-time high (ATH), right? Grin
- Investing always involves some level of risk, and it's wise to be cautious. But if you're overly hesitant and just keep waiting for a significant price drop, you might miss out on opportunities. So, I believe that buying BTC right now using the DCA strategy is a good option because we can't accurately predict when it'll hit its lowest point.

But we also need to understand that maybe he is not well known in bitcoin. Bitcoin may become high in the following weeks or months, but we can't predict it. He can't predict it. Maybe he has a plan, so let's not get involved with it. I also think right now is a good time to halve bitcoin, as it got hyped by the recent price spike. Many have caught their attention to it, and I'm sure many will enter and invest in bitcoin. With that, there will be a lot or big movement in the bitcoin price, which has a profit potential. But still it also risky, we can't ignore that maybe it will go opposite, well it is worth to risk as we know cryptocurreny has a lot of risk and investing to it take a strong mind and dedication, maybe that's why the op is hesitant to buy bitcoin right now or doesnt have enough funds to do so.
1228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you leave the country or will you stay, stand up and fight for your right? on: October 25, 2023, 11:57:00 PM
I will be more interested in working in shadow. Well, I think my country will never ban crypto currency, and even if they do, they will never stop me from investing and doing bitcoin stuff. I'm an IT professional, and I know how to do things untracked, so even if they ban any access to bitcoin, it is easy to bypass that. About the group that discriminates against bitcoin, I guess they are hired by the government, maybe, or anyone else that is afraid of the potential of bitcoin, as if it continues, we know bitcoin can be powerful in the future. and as it's powerful, no one could control the bitcoin, only us, the holders and investors themselves. I'm not afraid of anything as I keep my bitcoin stuff secret only known to my trusted friends that also do bitcoin and crypto stuff, we will fight for it? yes but silently.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: October 25, 2023, 11:24:46 PM
This is a common idea in poor and developing countries wherein it tries to act at every opportunity unintelligently. This is also happening in my country. So what about people being late to buy those penny stocks that are now worth a lot? We're also going to teach our 10-year-old kids about stocks early then. Founders of social media applications and platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Google turned its young founders into billionaires. So we're also going to teach our young kids about apps, social media, and programming?

Again, this doesn't make any sense. 10 years old is not even part of the youth, that is still a very very young kid who's supposed to play, and study the basics of education while exploring and discovering its natural gifts and skills.
for me that teaching is just for preparation for their mind and idea because we knew that children nowadays are having their great skills and knowledge in computer and internet in which they are the one who really the target of cryptocurrency.
so I also support that children must be told of crypto specially bitcoin no matter what age are they as long as they are ready to have understanding.
If they are too young, what do you need to prepare for them when they just want to have fun? Tell me when you were a kid, what did you want? You want to play your favorite games, watch your favorite cartoons... don't even want to go to school, so why would you force your child to do those things? Our society has evolved, children are smarter than our generation, but that doesn't mean they need to know about investing too soon. 10 year olds are even learning basic math, so teach them to invest bitcoin, what's the benefit here?

More importantly, do you have kids and have you ever talked to them and asked what they want?

I agree with you. Children are children, and such big responsibility and knowledge bomb should not be given to them at such a young age. We are already taking too much away from these kids, with rising expectations and pressure from the ever so competitive world that we live in. Let us not rush them in this case as well.

That's why I think it should depend on a specific age. For example, if a teenager or, let's say, a 12-year-old kid has exceptional thinking capabilities, I think they are the ones who are right to educate themselves about complex things like crypto or bitcoin. We know that not all young people are futuristic or ready to think about complex things such as cryptocurrency. Young people should enjoy their youth as long as they are young. Even if we want to teach them about that, it's up to them if they will absorb it or if they will be interested for a long time. Teaching them is a good idea, but we also need to remember that bitcoin or cryptocurrency is not for everyone. Let's not assume every child has the same interest. If I have a child, maybe I will just introduce bitcoin and guide them, but I will not force them to be interested in it.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 25, 2023, 10:23:55 PM
The first thing you did was very risky, and you followed it up with another risky move. First,  you gambled an initial capital to start; that's okay, but you kept on playing because you hooked up and wanted to chase your losses. You said 'for fun only' then why do you end up wanting to chase your losses desperately? Second, you deposit a huge amount and stake a big margin or big bet, which is very risky. What if you also lose the money you've deposited? Will you chase it again? If so, then the cycle will only continue until you have nothing to gamble on anymore. You see, it shows how passive a gambler you are; you decide without thinking about the consequences or what will happen next. Thankfully, you recovered your losses and earned some, but that is something not to be proud of. I thought you would never do that again based on Whatever happens to you, you can repeat it because you can't control yourself.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: October 25, 2023, 01:09:58 PM
I doubt that you can stop gambling when you are addicted since it’s very hard to notice the symptoms due to the addictive nature of gambling. The only way for a compulsive gambler to stop is if someone help him to change or he doesn’t have any money to gamble.

If someone is going to help change the gambler is a plan that's very hard, unless the person acting as the helper will devote 85% of his or her time for the addict, because is like a kid that you monitor 24/7 so he (gambler) can't go offline.
And we know how difficult it will be because you as the helper can't have that comfortable time for yourself. Keeping an eye on the gambler has to be under strict rules, no messing around or having pity for him or her. So I can't say is going to be very easy to accomplish.

Instead of that, it's better to put the gambling addict in rehabilitation; there, they will be monitored and slowly helped to forget about gambling. But no matter what we say here or suggest, the change will depend on the gambler itself; if he does not help himself to get out of the influence of gambling, then nothing will happen. The other things will be just support for that person to change. Let's say all your advice is followed by the gambler, and he will not be cured as long as he chooses to still play gambling. So I believe only that person could help himself; I believe people have the dedication to do that. But that will be a different case if the addict itself is beyond help, even if he can't control himself. Possible solution? Ban gambling that's it but we know it is impossible gambling is everywhere even in life it is a gamble.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: October 25, 2023, 10:02:38 AM
A couple of my friends have a slot game that they play together. This does not affect their relationship, on the contrary, I can say that when they lose, they lose with fun. When they are going to put money on the site, they all put up a capital together and take turns playing. If I give an example, 5 friends and each of them puts 100 dollars. This is 500 dollars in total and they enter the slot game with 500 dollars. Although they don't have an exact figure in their heads, if there is 2000 dollars, they play with the idea that if we take our money and let's split it. When this happens, the loss is everyone's loss and the gain is everyone's gain. There are also methods that do not affect friendships in such a way. Because they know this risk themselves and provide an investment accordingly.
There is no issue about it if they both understand and make fun of gambling. But this is a different story between husband and wife (and family) as usually they have been affected by this. Some family breakups have some common problem and issue which is finance --and one reason is one of the family members has been into gambling addiction which causes financial problems.
If ever our partner doesn't support our gambling habits/addiction, I would say that don't ever attempt to do this because will be the start of family problems and misunderstanding which leads to broken relationships and breakups.
If they have similar views on gambling, it will be easier to understand each other, of course they can gamble simultaneously. Yes, you are right, I have also seen many husband and wife relationships destroyed because a husband does not give the money they earn for their household needs, the husband spends a lot of money on gambling and this will of course lead to separation.

Even if they have similar views about gambling or a partner is both open to gambling, it still could affect their relationship as it affects their lives. I witness many relationships, not just those between husband and wife, but even friendships. Because of gambling, one of your friends could become greedy in terms of money. I remember seeing a topic here in the gambling section where, because of gambling, one of their friends started avoiding them as that friend won a game. Which shows how a person can show his true nature just because of money. Gambling exists and is valuable because of money. Even in gambling, money could become a root cost for many crimes and affect any relationship, but that's reality. We are all hungry for money, and we are all circled around money. As with gambling, gambling could affect many things, even a solid and pure relationship.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: October 25, 2023, 08:25:52 AM
Well, unfortunately I haven’t been able to get AI to flat out predict the winner of sporting events yet. Sure, there’s ways around it with nonsense, but I’d really like to get the AI’s genuine opinion of who the winner of a sporting event will be. I guess this is still a no-no in the world of AI, but I’m certain it’s only a matter of time.

I guess it will never happen. The word "sport betting" refers to a game or gambling wherein real people are involved; they play sports like basketball and such. How do you think AI will predict who will be the winner? AI doesn't have the ability to predict the course of the game as it involves humans, which AI can't control, so it's nonsense that some will rely on it. Maybe AI could predict the winner. That's because there are only two winners in two teams; it is 50-50! I don't understand why some rely on AI; they don't think what the only capabilities of an AI are. Unless AI can control or manipulate the course of the game, that's when AI would be realiable in terms of sports betting. I'm not against AI; don't get me wrong, but I don't think AI has the capability to outsmart or predict anything that humans do.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 25, 2023, 07:26:13 AM
I choose table games, as I'm more expert in those games, or rather, those games that I think have more chances of winning. why? because table games require skills and thinking. You fight other players who bet, and you need to outsmart and defeat them in order to win. I personally pick this one as I'm good with table games, because I think slots and other games require luck or are based on luck, like in slots, where there are probabilities yes, but it depends on your luck when you play and the probability hits you. Many choose slots, maybe because it is easy to play; you're just going to place a bet, roll, and wait to see if you will hit a duplicate combination. But I see that there are many opinions on what game they have a high chance of winning, so I think it will depend on the player itself and what he or she is good at.
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: October 25, 2023, 06:48:45 AM
~

It is like this, things should always be destined so that we have the ability to respond to what we know, for example you can win $600k, which is enough a little more than half a million USD, not bad, you can buy a nice house, a good car, and the rest of the money you cannot throw on yourself, not even by buying unnecessary things, you should invest the rest of the money, why? Why is it the only way to multiply, but you don't know what to do? easy, ~

Yes, because with buying a nice house and a good car you've spent some money on yourself already, right? And that's not a small amount of money, to say the truth, that can easily take almost all of your won money. I'm not a big fan of cars, so, can't say about that, but I know that a nice house can cost you half a million USD, and I'm not talking about the most expensive ones. An average price in California is $780,000, for example, so, $600k wouldn't be enough.

And I totally agree with you about investing the rest of the money in Bitcoin. Especially today, when the price is low.

What if that person doesn't have an idea when it comes to bitcoin? So what you've said about "investing the rest of the money in Bitcoin" is not applicable to all people who don't have a slight idea about it. But maybe for some people like us that are prominent in the field of cryptocurrency or bitcoin, the number one thing that we will do is invest some or a large amount of our winnings in bitcoin because we see the potential profit in bitcoin, which is good timing right now. But treating yourself to some luxury things will not be bad, either because you deserve it or because the winner deserves it. Just control the expenses and buy only the things that you necessarily need. How I will I will win in lottery I already have plans on how will I spend some and how will I invest some.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should have taken this risk earlier. on: October 25, 2023, 05:00:27 AM
Maybe I should have invested when Bitcoin was 26 thousand dollars then maybe I could have made a good profit at this point but there is no point in regretting what I didn't do Of course I will think about the present now. I think the price of bitcoin can cross 40 thousand dollars so investing in bitcoin now will not be a wrong decision for me at all.

Well, buddy, think before you invest in bitcoin. Maybe you discovered bitcoin because of its sudden surge in price recently, and I think you only got hyped because of that and decided to invest in bitcoin using the money you've saved. I think before you invest, you should study first how bitcoin works and if you are really sure that your prediction is correct. because what if bitcoin decreases after you buy? Your capital could be gone if the percentage of downtrade is too low and your equity can't keep up. So do further research and study while you are also studying for your college, and if you are ready, then you can engage in investing, but of course with caution. Try a small amount of capital first, and if it is earned, then keep it. and invest the money you've earned in such a way that even if you lose it, it will not be hurtful for you.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 24, 2023, 11:57:25 PM
As the gambling industry is evolving, I think innovations would have kicked in that can make someone create a career from gambling. I do not know how this can be achieved but I feel it is possible.

Making gambling a full time job might be seen as risky but I still feel one can make gambling full time job and a career.

What do you all think?
Gambling is completely based on luck. Those who came to build their future careers around this game have ruined their careers. To my knowledge no one has ever made a career out of gambling. One in a hundred or  million has made a career out of winning the jackpot.  But winning the jackpot is the ultimate luck.  And winning this fortune usually does not happen to everyone. Moreover, to my knowledge no one has ever made a career out of this gambling platform.

I agree with this; I think the OP is not in the right mindset. Well, I don't judge it; it is what you want to do, but making gambling a career is crazy to hear, and I guess many here have their violent reactions to the post. Only gambling as a career will do you nothing; you will only lose too much money. Unless you are very lucky and you win a big jackpot, one jackpot will change your life totally, but it is too much to ask. I advised the OP that if he really wants to continue that career path, you better be ready because you will not instantly earn much.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: October 24, 2023, 11:35:34 PM
Gambling as a main source of income is a big no; it will only bring misery and bad effects to the person who gambles. But sad reality: many gamblers are hoping to get rich instantly with the use of gambling. It's their desire to keep gambling until they get rich or have a good hit, but in reality, it will only make you suffer. Even if you win at some point, it will only cover the money you've lost, or worse, it is still enough, and little by little, you won't notice that your debt will only increase than you've earned. So gambling can never be a source of income; it can only be treated as "entertainment" or a side hustle. Maybe some become rich because of gambling, but that is their luck that brought them there, and not all of us have the same luck as they do. So gamblers out there, remove the hope you have that you will be rich by gambling; it will only hurt you.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: October 24, 2023, 10:27:22 PM
~snip~
yep, indeed everything you say is very correct, when an addict who wants to recover from his addiction gets great support from the people around him, it makes his mental strength become more enthusiastic to recover from his addiction.

this is the negative impact of gambling too often, ignoring the risks and not being able to control oneself, becoming addicted, which has a slightly complicated stage recovering from the addiction, and conversations like this should make us all understand how risky gambling is if we take it too seriously, such as thinking about getting money, which ends in regret. chasing defeat and becoming a loss. I just hope that anyone reading here is a little more aware to really understand how gambling works.
It will also raise awareness in him that he can heal with the help of the people around him because he knows they care about his life. This will give him greater enthusiasm to quickly recover from his gambling addiction and not repeat the mistakes that made him fall into gambling.

He has felt the negative impact of gambling, so he intends not to experience it again. And even if he returns to gambling, he will be more responsible than before because he has experienced bad events in his past. However, some people will not return to gambling and will probably help other gambling addicted people to provide something useful that can help other people recover from their gambling addiction.

If that was the after effects then it may give it a good practice but most of the time, when an addicted gambler goes back to his usual way of gambling things is un-controllable there's always a possibility that he will just repeat that same mistake and will undergo with the same problem that he just went thru, it's best not to come back or not to try playing again to surely quit away from it and if chances will be given, guiding others with this possible problem to raise will be a good help avoid anyone to engage and possibly get addicted.
In not all cases, I have experienced what the OP says, or I get addicted to gambling, but I quit at some point because I notice how I become miserable. But it is not easy; you will still have the urge to gamble, so instead of totally quitting, I let my mind and hobby adjust. What I did was still play, but in a controlled state, and slowly I limited my gambling expenses until I noticed that I didn't hunger for gambling anymore. Of course, I did many things to achieve that, but I started to find other things that could get my attention. Like trading crypto or playing games, and playing sports with friends. In short, in order for me to overcome my addiction, I simply find other things that are more meaningful than wasting money on gambling. I don't literally quit gambling; let's say I only play once a month just for entertainment, and the money I use is the money that I can afford to lose.

Hello mates,

So sometimes don't think just flex it and let luck do it part friends.
If you  are only use High bets that moment ? am not sure if we are  still talking about this here now because the  faith of Luck may change or even the system will bring you this huge winning percent.
and about Flexing ?
for me  this is just a coincidence and not as how it use to be portray here , but still a way to congratulate you is enough to address this thread of yours.

Even if it is a coincidence or not, he is still lucky because he hit a bet, which is great, but my concern is that we only see the good part; how about the other bet? I'm not contradicting; I just want to raise awareness for everyone. You see, we only see winnings, right? But how about the others? This is worth the flex I get, but is it worthy? Why do I ask? Maybe you won that amount of money, but on the back side, you have lost bets that could be higher than your winnings. You see, not just the OP, but other gamblers tend to flex their abilities, and there's nothing wrong with that. It could just give false hope for the readers that also do gambling; they will have hope that they can do it and will never be satisfied until they also have a win that they could flex, but in the process, you lose more than you win.
