Is it a scam? Anyone knows something?
I got 1 btc worth of altcoins in limbo there. Any chance of getting it out?

It was 'hacked' long time ago, check this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=956738.0
665  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for Free Bitcoin Debit Card on: July 14, 2016, 11:19:30 AM
As the title says, I'm looking for a Bitcoin Debit card. I do not want to pay for a card I may use 1 or 2 times a month if that. Are they any services that offer a free Bitcoin-USD card?

Xapo offers BTC debit card. In past the order used to be free I think, but never tried and not sure how it is now ..  you'd better do some search.

I looked at them, and they do charge a small amount for the card. I will keep researching, but its honestly not worth it to me to spend $40-$50 on a card, I'll be lucky to spend $20-$30 in btc a month through

Wirex (formerly e-coin) offers a mastercard plastic debit card for ~13 dollars (if you register through a ref-link , check my signature). It offers also virtual cards for 3 dollars and you can also 'buy' bitcoin through your paypal account (if you have one).

What was the Initial price of Rise Huh Roll Eyes

What about this cake?

From the Boston halving party.

Ok it's a cool tradition, everyone was celebrating the halving but me in fact! ^^

I just find a bit strange that the halving is celebrated as an incredible event.
Because it's a long term planned event. It's not like it's something incredible that was surprising or unexpected.

Also your birthday is every year on a certain day and it's not an unexpected event but you celebrate it anyway or am I wrong  Grin?
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 13, 2016, 04:15:14 PM
I think LISK is primed for a huge rise, the only question is when - could be few days, few weeks or few months. I'm all in LISK and just chilling, it's one of the best opportunities in crypto ATM. I'm not in a hurry for profits, and even if LISK falls to 10 cents in the meantime - so be it, I will just wait patiently.

I think you should diversify your 'wallet', it's not wise to put all your money in lisk.
669  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.3 BTC loan. 0.325 return. Legendary account collateral. on: July 13, 2016, 03:35:00 PM
So this was a hacked account after all.

Next time a Legendary/Hero member has a sob story and wants a loan I hope people will remember this thread.

Yeah, it's not the original owner/creator.

They were all almost certainly hacked using the password hashes that were leaked a year ago -- these users never changed their password since then, and were probably using fairly simple passwords.

Anyone who thinks non crypto people are going out and buying STEEM on Bittrex is living in a dream world.

It is an obvious orchestrated pump very similar to what happened with SYNEREO.  In a few months it will be forgotten again.

Yeah I think the same, it's just a pump & dump scheme. Like what it's happened with EMC2 and MYR few days ago on poloniex.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: July 13, 2016, 03:02:30 PM
True, bitcoin doesn't have the power to replace fiat. Fiat is an established form of currency and regulated by government. It is also backed by some tangible asset like gold.

On the other hand, bitcoin doesn't have any central regulatory authority and is not backed by any asset. It is just backed by trust of the people. So it will never be possible for bitcoin to replace fiat in the coming 100 years.

Are you sure Roll Eyes ? Bitcoin is about trust ...you are right, this is why we are still here ~8 years late. I trust much more bitcoin than any other FIAT currency, don't get me wrong but this is what I think.
672  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitcoin debit card recomendations? on: July 13, 2016, 02:11:42 PM
I also suggest you the bitcoin plastic debit card of wirex (formerly e-coin). Now they are giving a mastercard but in the beginning it was a visa card, their internal exchange rate is pretty good and at the moment they are offering a 25% discount if you register through a ref-link on all the available currency (usd, eur & gbp).

675  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening? on: July 13, 2016, 10:21:17 AM
Everyone was expecting a very high price increase during the block halving period. But nothing happened, the price left hanging at the same price range. What happened, are you expectin that it will maybe rise soon?

You are wrong, the majority of people was expecting a decrease of the bitcoin value the same day of the blockw reward halving. Now I think we will stay in this range for a couple of weeks maybe months.
I did not see more than maybe 1 or 2 users thinking that the price will decrease. The majority of users thought it will rise in this period, and they were talking about an increase in almost every thread in this section. Maybe I am wrong, but I think that there were more optimistic people here than those who thought the price would decrease.

In a long view period  (5-10 years) bitcoin should increase more and more, imho.

Exactly, that was the common sentiment. The halving day was only just symbolic, now it will start its effect.
The record amount of shorts on the halving day on bitfinex is an evidence to the contrary. Longs are also high - but now slightly below the level it had 2 weeks ago.
676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 13, 2016, 10:09:00 AM
Yesterday a friend of mine was asking me:
So now that the block reward is 12.5 BTC instead 25 BTC your BTC should have grown in terms of value?
I said:
Yes, now I own coins which value more in terms of production costs.
My friend:
Ok but waht about the value, is it higher?
I replied:

not yet... Cool

price was between $200 and $300 for about a year until last november. price tripled in the last 10 months. some of the rise was maybe due to the anticipation of the halving, since it was known all along.

So you think that this is the 'real' price now, right ? Because the price already double tripled compared 10-11 months ago.

There is no real price of btc.
A real price would mean the number of user is stable enough so their is not more demand than supply. It is not the case.

You know what I meant, real price = miner farm can still continue to 'mine' bitcoin.  With 500-600$ of the past months and the block reward of BTC25 they were in profit ... but now with BTC12,5 and ~600$ are they still in profit?

I think yes, they are.
677  Other / Meta / Re: What's your "Report to Moderator" % rate at? on: July 13, 2016, 09:55:11 AM
I swear that those crap bot-generated posts that appear every 5 minutes in Bitcoin Discussion are generated by someone who wants to improve their Report to Moderator %.

No, I don't think. I suppose that there are a lot of users opening those 'crap' threads for the only purpose to reply with their main/alt forum accounts and be paid by the various signature campaigns. Improve your report to moderator % doesn't give you any benefit.
