661  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you going to invest in now that the Bitcoin Fever is gone? on: February 20, 2015, 07:16:22 PM
...The Bitcoin Fever hasn't even started yet...

That's what I keep saying about BTCeanie BTCabies, but the mass media-trusting sheeple just laugh.
Wake up, people!

BTCeanie BTCabies are not a get-rich-quick scheme, it's a long-term investment with scientifically irrefutable fundamentals; we're at the tipping point, ready to disruptively black swan the dying world of fiat!  Hell, like Satobeanie Nakobabyan said, "We have only to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down!"  Yeah!  Who's with me?
662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 20, 2015, 06:40:23 PM
Bitcoin stolen? Somehow this is bitcoin's fault! If it didn't exist, muggings related to it wouldn't happen!

We should make it entirely useless so as not to risk anyone ever wanting any, and resorting to violence to obtain some.
...

That's why Mr. Katz brought along $3.5k in real cash money, else Anon might not wanna rob him @ gunpoint (or feel gypped after doing so).

Apparently New York is not such a Nice town after all.

Looooo Cheesy

"A New York City firefighter named Dwayne Richards was recently held up, stabbed and robbed by thieves who were after his bitcoin, the Observer has learned. From what we’ve discovered, Mr. Richards—who is a firefighter in lower Manhattan—was mugged and left bleeding after meeting the robbers under the pretense of exchanging bitcoin for cash in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He’s alive, well, and refusing comment."

Yo yo, let me buy some of them bit coins ofa you, let's step into this dark alley, behind that dumpster--for extra precautions & privacy Cheesy
Also love stuff like "stabbed and robbed by thieves."

What I'm saying is that, if you think that this comes as a surprise, then you're stupid. I also noticed that the guy who did get stabbed and robbed also said that bitcoin is still wild west and things like this are expected.

Fuck no it doesn't come as a surprise.  You mix greedy idiots and anonymity, this sort of thing is pretty much guaranteed.  And the greedy idiots are usually paranoid fucks pantshittingly afraid of The Man, and prob'ly shady as fuck themselves, so the stabbin' robin' thieves have little to fear Cheesy

*Edit re. wild west comment:
That was made by another rocket surgeon, Mr. Katz:

"[Mr. Katz] is like a weed delivery guy, only instead of delivering drugs, he’s bringing people the future of financial transactions.

One day, he received a call from someone who had heard about his services, either online or through a referral, who wanted to visit him out in Queens at a secure location.*

“He called because he wanted to gamble during the Super Bowl, which is pretty common,” Mr. Katz told the Observer.

When the person arrived, he held Mr. Katz up at gunpoint and forced him to transfer $8,500 worth of bitcoin. Then, the robber took $3,500 in cash and split." Cheesy

* See "let's step into this dark alley, behind that dumpster--for extra precautions & privacy Cheesy" above.

Bitcoin is working great.  The thief was able to get the btc transferred to him just as quick as the cash!  The only difference is the police could attempt to recover the btc (they won't but they could)

Bitcoin worked as intended, Bitcoiners got owned.
Re. "like cash":
Cash criminals are nowhere as dumb as Bitcoin criminal scum.  Take the above-mentioned Mr. Katz, who went off to Anon's "secure location (lol) in Queens" to sell Anon $8.5k in BTC.
Naturally, Mr. Katz brought along an extra $3.5k in cash, because...  because BITCOIN!!!

I mean, that's so unsafe!  Anon could have died of happiness and laughter Angry

^All of the above become thieves by engaging in theft, i.e. stealing.  Stealing is the defining quality of a thief, both necessary and sufficient.
Not being sarcastic tho, just love the "stolen by thieves" bit.

How is it that bulls haven't yet figured out that they're allowed to live just long enough to get fatted & slaughtered?
I mean, sure, they have  pretty much the shittiest brain-to-body-weight ratio of all mammals, but still...

...I am pretty sure people buy oil and  invest in it, despite it being manipulated.

Unlike oil, Bitcoin's ONLY value is speculative.
I need to buy gasoline, even if the price may is being manipulated.  Bitcoin?  Not so much.

*click* Unignore NotLambchop....

I'm tired of being approached by ignorant statists and told that we Bitcoin enthusiasts are only using our revolutionary currency for buying CP.
Help me scientifically refute this myth by participating in this [grantedly, rather informal] study.  It's real short, a single question:

1. Would you still own Bitcoin if there was a simpler way to satisfy your child pr0n needs?

  a)I'd rather not say
  b)No
  c)Hell no!
  d)Definitely not, stop being stupid

Thanks.

Sigh...
*click* Ignore this user.  Grin

So that's an (a)?

"Something which forces people to turn on their brains, learn a new skill and take responsibility for some part of their lives? How is that a bad thing?"

"Using your brain" means finding simpler, quicker, "smarter" way to do things.
Learning the most complicated, convoluted & hilariously error-prone way of reaching the same ends is just plain stupid.*

... Nothing is happening its just a good ol comedia dramatica.

Slow l'y but surely, This is just going to end up in misery and death.
Like if anyone cares anyway.

Are you talking about this thread?  If so, well put!

So many ignorant statists making the same boring arguments over and over and over and over and over and over..

I want to cry.

I am living in a cage full of slaves and I am surrounded by other slaves telling me how great the cage is. Sure I get to vote on what's for supper every now and then. But whenever I propose we work together to escape the cage I am met with hostility and labeled as dangerous, radical, naive, Utopian, and selfish...

Aww...  I know what'll make all that angst better!
