661  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked account recovery on: December 16, 2017, 10:53:21 PM
Hello please help me.
my account was hacked too,
i sent message to @ Cyrus
But i dont know how to sign the message,

Follow these directions.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0

You will also need proof of your address from an older post before it was hacked.
Put your address into google search. Hope this helps a little. Goodluck!!!
662  Other / Meta / Re: Cant reset password old account on: December 16, 2017, 03:42:21 AM

so the only way to unlock an account is with a btc address ? i Dont see how that makes sense since i never associated any of mine with it. I'm assuming they wont do a regular email me password reset ?

This is the standard for hacked accounts because the BTC blockchain can identify your address.
Inside your wallet, with your address, you can create a message with todays date. Showing you can
still do that today with your address proves you are the owner.

You should  run those numbers through the blockchain to find the transaction history. If they can see
the address there, it coincides with the link I gave you.

I was just in your shoes, in this same situation, literally last week. Be patient. Do some digging
for the address. If you need more help just ask.
663  Other / Meta / Re: Account has been locked on: December 16, 2017, 03:20:09 AM
It is a fake email, anybody can make an email address there.

Just send a password recovery link to your original email:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=reminder

Don't answer any more emails coming from people that claim your account has been banned.

Pretty sure thats the same message I got with mine when it was locked. It goes to a white screen
with that message. Just might be a default message for froze accounts theymos put out when the passwords
got breached 2yrs ago. It's not an email. Chances are the account is locked so it couldn't be hacked.

Edit: not exactly the same as mine but close.

664  Other / Meta / Re: Cant reset password old account on: December 16, 2017, 03:07:50 AM
account name is just dickcheney

I still use my original email , Never associated any BTC address with my account as its been sometime since ive logged in (left the scene after BFL scam and military deployments).

There was a password leak about 2yrs ago and unactive accounts were froze to stop the
accounts from being hacked. Chances are your account was one of them.

I don't know what these addresses go to, but you posted them for some reason. You might be able to
Pull off some kind of blockchain wizardy to find something you can verify your address. Goodluck!

665  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda Pulled a Hillary Clinton, deleted 3k+ posts, will theymos out Laudas alts? on: December 15, 2017, 05:37:00 PM
-snip-
Also, where is this list for Alt accounts?
I didn't know about it and if I have too, I'll make my other account I used to get this one back public.

There's a thread here ->, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1702409 where users are trying to find out alt accounts by looking at wallet adresses, or other confirming factors. (Sometimes they compare the writing between accounts aswell. (QS)).

Usually when found out that you have multiple accounts, (it would depend on the severity of the connected accounts,) you could get negatively / neutrally trusted.

I see. I only have one because this one got locked while I was on a 2yr Hiatus. Can/Should I delete it?
666  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda Pulled a Hillary Clinton, deleted 3k+ posts, will theymos out Laudas alts? on: December 15, 2017, 04:58:33 PM
Aw dammit, I wanted you to compare me to Trump. You always seem to fail to live up to the expectations mr. Quickseller. Undecided

This thread though.

I know this is a little off topic....But this is the funniest damn thread I've seen in ALONG time--Anywhere!!!
Hahahaha!!! That gif.......hahaha!!! Thank You! Anyway....back to business.

Do senior members deal with this type of tom foolery a lot, or is this thread an
inside joke or something? It seems kinda tinfoil hat approved. Also, where is this list for Alt accounts?
I didn't know about it and if I have too, I'll make my other account I used to get this one back public.
667  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) AvalonMiner 741 7.3 Th/s, 1150W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: December 15, 2017, 04:47:19 PM
Great review! I really do like that cooling solution. Looks a lot like one
I have on an old Altec-Lansing power amp. How effective is it on a Hot day
with only the one fan? Anyone know? HagssFinn you do a great job of organizing
the flow of your reviews...Very pleasing on the eyes!
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone purchased a miner from bitmainmasters? on: December 15, 2017, 10:57:25 AM
Generally, if a Miner Manufacturer has a company that distributes their products,
they post it somewhere on their official website. To the best of my knowledge,
only a couple of Manufacturers do have official distributors. Be very, very careful
when thinking about buying a miner. Don't jump at the first deal you see, because it's
probably a scam. Be patient when committing to major purchases. Goodluck!
669  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: December 14, 2017, 09:06:16 PM
@Hagssfin

For my M3's I've ordered, I've decided to use a pdu(220) from the wall and 3ft 15 amp C14 to C13 cords
to the miners. How long are the "Stock" psu cords? I don't want to buy them too long for fear of overheating.
670  Other / Meta / Re: Identity stolen?!?!?!? on: December 14, 2017, 08:58:57 PM
What's the source of the problem? Is there an issue with the forum software? Anything that one can do to prevent it from happening again?

I honestly don't know what the source is in general. I've read a few opinions that make sense,
but I've also read that theymos is working diligently to correct the issues. I think WE as users
need to do our part to keep our accounts secure. My account was "frozen" from the password leak
a couple years ago, and I think there maybe some users still in that boat. Hopefully, between the Admins
and the users here, it gets resolved.
671  Other / Meta / Re: Identity stolen?!?!?!? on: December 14, 2017, 07:01:45 PM
OK, I sent Cyrus a PM, here's another signed message (without my email) in case it helps

This is a Myriadcoin address

Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.msg6919083#msg6919083

Thanks

I ran it through this web checker: https://myriadexplorer.com/messages/verify

Now..... You need to find out from a Mod or senior member if this method is accepted.

I hope this gets resolved for you. Hopefully sooner than later! Goodluck!

Thanks so much man, really appreciate your help

You're welcome! I just went through it myself, and a few good people helped me so,
I'm gonna do a little to help as well. Doing so will make it a better place for people
on this forum, and hopefully save the mods and admin a little leg work.

I was trying to login today after a few months of absence, and to my surprise I couldn't do it because someone else has been using my account since Nov 4th!

My handle is dazz:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=244203;sa=showPosts;start=20

My last post was the one on: June 02, 2017, 09:41:52 PM, the rest are not me! what gives?

Can some admin please help?

You'll need to follow these steps in order to get anything back.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Before you get into it though, did you ever stake your BTC Address in a post anywhere?
Cause your gonna need that to. Be patient, it is possible to recover if you have the proper info.
If you need any help just ask.

Thank you Shazam. Unfortunately I did not (as far as I can recall) stake my address. I guess that means I'm out of luck?

is this your account?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.msg6919083#msg6919083

Yes! That's me and that must be a Myriadcoin address of mine. Can I sign that?

I would think so, but I honestly don't know 100% the rules on that. There is a verification tool online for it, so I'd think you could.
Hopefully a Mod or senior member can weigh in on that. But for now I'd get all that info ready using it, so if it works
you can send the request to Cyrus.

676  Other / Meta / Re: After so long, my hacked account is still roaming free. on: December 14, 2017, 05:08:50 PM
The admins set out the procedure for recovering accounts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 which is pinned on this board so it is always in view. You were negligent in not securing your account by not staking an address you could use to reclaim it.

Why the admins strongly insist on signed bitcoin messages as the one and only acceptable way of validation?
Yes, I agree signed bitcoin messages is super secure and cannot be easily tampered with, but why is it the one and only way acceptable?
Why wasn't every other security measure in place to prevent fraud?

Are the admins trying to set a precedence to show to the world that signed bitcoin messages is the only secure way to go?

Now my hacked account is making Turkish comments and there is nothing I can do about it because of the insecurity of signed bitcoin messages.

I'm pretty sure they use this method because, YOU are the only person who can create a message with That SPECIFIC address.
Even if an account gets hacked, and you still have access to YOUR wallet with the address, Only YOU can add a message to the signature.
I understand your frustration, but it is a good method of verification. Had I not been able to use this method, my account would have been lost.
I literally just got my count back a few days ago.

Perhaps was there any OTHER place on social media or another website you may have staked the address? For a campaign or something?
677  Other / Meta / Re: After so long, my hacked account is still roaming free. on: December 14, 2017, 12:36:12 PM
Did you follow the instructions here?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Have you made a request to put a freeze on the account to a Mod or Admin?
There are people on here that are helping people in you situation, You've got to
follow the guide in that pinned post. If you need help with that, you'll need to request it.
678  Other / Meta / Re: hacked account on: December 14, 2017, 12:23:33 PM
Verified!

Op sent me a PM with the email in place of the XXXX and it checks out!
He doesn't want to make his email public on this thread.
I have a copy of the verification request if needed.
can he be Advised to send Cyrus this corrected request?

I am not a Mod I'm just helping out
679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New miner. Completely lost O_O on: December 14, 2017, 10:50:06 AM
So I have Simple Miner setup, and I followed VoskCoin's gudie here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8EF8gjItp4&t=305s for Zencash, but I'm failing to find where I'm supposed to be entering my wallet address for Zencash. I feel so lost. Am I supposed to use Simple Mining's default settings or do I find a pool? Where can I find a comprehensive guide on this type of stuff?

Thank you so much.

Check here in the Alt Mining section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

I'm sure someone there can point you in the right direction. I would suggest mining in a pool.
You'll have a lot more luck that way. There is also a POOL section in that area as well.
Goodluck!

Goodluck and I wish you well!

Thanks alot for your attention and for your help and hopefully someone will help me.

You are Welcome. I want to suggest that maybe you should EDIT your post, and change the title to
include your proof is verified. It might gain a bit more attention from a Mod or Admin to look into it for you.
