701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 10:17:08 AM
You can solve the problem with discipline and determination of not going against your gambling plan. A plan of having a budget every week of about 1 to 5% of your weekly income to be for gambling which you can afford to lose. If you have lost all, stop gambling for that week.

You have known that while losing in gambling, you are more vulnerable to more losses, you also really need to be disciplined about this. When you are losing little already while gambling, just stop. It is happening to all gamblers but we discipline ourselves by stopping to gamble at that time until we have the right mind to gamble again which can be the next day or week.

Right. Having a budget keeps things in check. If you hit a losing streak, taking a break until you're feeling right about it again is the way to go. It's all about enjoying the game without messing up your finances.I hope OP wont get too hard on himself. It's already dofficult to acknowledge your gambling problems. I think it would be too hard for you to start gambling responsibly
About budget, yes, it's most likely to be effective if a gambler has a budget for his hobby, which is gambling. He should have an allocated budget that is meant for gambling, and money is okay if it's going to lose. Not just that, a gambler should also have discipline in limiting himself from going over his budget. If you've faced losses and all that allocated budget burns, the gambler should accept it and will never bet again. In short, no matter what the result, a gambler could still be sane and control his emotions, which is the primary cause of gamblers losing more money just because they can't control their emotions. But budgeting or allocating only money and discipline is not enough if the person itself should have no problem when it comes to their emotions, because a gambler who is emotionally unfit for gambling, which is stressful and risky, should avoid that thing.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 28, 2024, 05:56:17 AM
Anything's addiction can be the cause so that a specific person is pushed to do crimes. Remember, a human is vulnerable when it comes to their urge, or, in short, their enemy is their own mind and urge, so yes, and it's common sense, gambling addiction is one of the reasons that there are crimes associated with domestic violence. Is there a case about that? Yes, of course, if you try to search it, you will see a lot of results stating that a man or woman does violence mainly because they are addicted to gambling.

I think this question is common sense. I'm sure you are aware that anything that makes them addicted to something has a negative effect on them, and because of that, they can do anything out of hand as they can develop many negative attitudes or happenings because they can't control themselves, so I think the question is answered.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hey Gamblers, Here's Some Questions for you. Would Love your Responses on them on: January 28, 2024, 01:48:39 AM
1. What's the most effective method for discovering a new online casino when you're seeking a change from your usual options?

  • Exploring the Bitcointalk forum

704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: January 27, 2024, 11:55:50 PM
So the earlier every newbie interested trader understands that the period  he/she could use to seriously learn how to trade no matter how short the period could be in acquiring the right ideas/knowledge about trading to make you selfreliance, you'll be exhuming yourself from days to years of reliance on signals that not even have the potent to making you profit compared to that which comes  directly out of your own self-made analytical work.
Common mistakes of those newbies in trading are being hyped and excited about the profit they are seeing when they see advertising or influencers that are flexing their earnings from trading. They think it is easy as that without knowing that those influencers or ads don't show the hardship or grey part of trading. Trading has a lot of chances of losing money depending on how competent and skilled you are. Trading is a continuous learning and trial and error. If you can't handle the thought of losing money, then it can't be sure that you can survive in this industry.

There are many posts or topics about advice or reminding new traders of what they should do and not do, but it will not be effective if they don't read those topics. How about those traders who are not familiar with this forum? How can we reach them about this kind of topic so that they can avoid what they are doing wrong in trading?
705  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: January 27, 2024, 11:26:52 PM
Ideas and money are beneficial to each other, and vice versa. Ideas can bring out money, while money can also bring out ideas. Example: a rich man and a man who is an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur brings his idea into business and shows how he can earn money. From that, if he can manage his business and money efficiently, it can lead to his success in life. The rich man has a lot of money; he has businesses and investments, but because he has a lot of money, he will not stop to have more ideas, build ideas, or seek ideas to make his network grow. See the bond between the two things? Idea can be money, and money could also make you think of an idea to grow your asset. But of course there are also people who have the idea but sadly can't execute it because of a lack of money, while some might have the necessary money but can't think of an idea to grow the money. That's why in corporate idealistic people and the upper man who has money are together to make a profit.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 10:32:04 PM
One example that a gambler is beyond help is: Who's sane will leave his child alone just to gamble? It means that he can't control himself anymore and that he can sacrifice or leave anything just to satisfy his gambling hobbies. The thing is, he also tells a lie just to get out of the question without thinking that lying in a police station is impossible. If you experienced that kind of urge where you can't fight it anymore because you are addicted to something that you will abandon anyone, even your own child, just to do what you want, then you should seek help. Imagine if something happens to the child, then it could be a big regret and trauma to the father and also to the mother of the child. That's when his life will be ruined and broken just because he prioritised his gambling hobbies. I hope he learned his lesson.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 27, 2024, 12:10:11 PM
As far as I'm concerned there's nothing really fun to do at 60 it's time for young people to have fun and they bet on having fun with their friends. But they can't go to addiction if they go to addiction there will be no fun. After the age of 60 years old people become very incapacitated and they are very worried so gambling is never possible to play with a worried mind. Many people have tension in terms of money.
Although they are old, older men or people tend to have something that could accompany them so that they will not get bored, and gambling is one of them. It doesn't mean that someone is gambling; there is always money involved. I've known a lot of older people who play gambling with their friends or younger people just to have fun, money aside, so it depends on how the people treat gambling. To answer the question, maybe younger men enjoy gambling the most, but they are also the ones that tend to be addicted. So it depends on the individual; we can't be sure which age group enjoys gambling the most until we have a solid survey about it. But for most new generations, gamblers tend to be addicted because they treat gambling as a source of income or are hoping to earn some money from it, which is a bad indication.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: January 27, 2024, 03:29:13 AM
It’s not a misunderstanding. The government is restricting it because they understand it. While I like to think that they ban and restrict it so they can be in control, I also see that there are worries about cases where people use Bitcoin wrongly (to even pay for illegal things) and due to anonymity, you cannot trace it. Also, the government likes tax, they know that Bitcoin not being able to be traced wouldn’t let them take their cut of one’s money. Over time, more government will come to terms with Bitcoin, you can tell if you compare the present to the past.
Exactly! But to add to that, the government can't accept bitcoin or the use of crypto currency because it will take a long time before it can be mainstream; what I mean is, before it can be implemented by a large crowd, it's not easy to understand crypto currency. That's why even the government knows how this technology can help; they choose to ignore it as it can't be easily used by anyone, and they are aware of how powerful bitcoin can be; it can dominate the fiat currency if they just let it be regulated or accepted. But we bitcoiners are still not losing hope that someday the world will be cryptocurrency friendly so that the illegalities of crypto currency will be ignored and we can just focus on how it can help many people. But even without the recognition or acknowledgement of the government, we are still free to access bitcoin, as they can't stop us from using it; they don't have the means.
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Can Explain What This Guy is Saying About Bitcoin On Reddit? on: January 27, 2024, 01:47:13 AM
I think it is just a bluff or lie because from how he constructs his statement, it is evident that he doesn't know what he is saying, and he doesn't have enough proof that he actually did it. If it's just guessing, then who's sane will believe in him? a different combination of words? Are you kidding? There are many words existing in the world. How could a mere person unlock a seed phrase just by guessing? That's why seed phrases are one of the most secure ways of securing an account because the combination of the words makes the password complex, and even a program that would run different combinations just to unlock a seed phrase will take a very long time. We would appreciate it if you also paste the reddit link to that post so that we can validate if he's provided proof that he actually did it or if he is just bluffing to attract attention.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 27, 2024, 12:23:43 AM
Well sad reality but whenever people know that you are doing gambling or you like gambling, they will classify you as Gambler, which is when they hear the word gambler it is something bad to them because it become a social norms that if someone is a gambler automatically it is an addict in gambling but little they know, gambler and an gambling addict is different, yes both gambler and an a addicted to gambling both do gambling games and waste money just to play and hope to win, but a gambler cannot be classified as gambling addict is he/she still can control his expenses in short responsible when it comes to money, while gambling addict is becoming worst as they let themselves swallowed by the gambling. So associating a gambler as bad is not a good thing; before they do, they should just know the person first, and yes, I'm a gambler, not an addict to gambling, because I know I take responsibility for my gambling expenses.
711  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 26, 2024, 11:50:20 PM
This remind me of a popular phrase that "enjoy your money when you are young". Yes to some extent it is good to enjoy life when your young but don't forget to save for your old age because when you are old you can't do job and anything to survive so at that time you can only eat from your youthful labour. So when you enjoying at your youth don't forget to save for the old age. If you are poor in your youthful age then it will also affects your old age because in your old age your can't do job again so you eat from others. And that is a shameful life.

Prepare your life when you are young. When you are old and still poor then you have lost your glory on earth. It is better your poor in the youthful age and be a rich man in the old age. One can become a rich man in the old age base your hard work in the youthful time. Therefore don't give up and continue working when you can do that in the youthful days.
This is somehow true, but for me, I have different beliefs in life. I want to enjoy my youth and do the things I want while saving up, but it is not literal that I will limit my expenses just to put them in the savings. No, that's why I'm doing investments and planning to have a business; that's the definition of "enjoy your money when you are young." Even though I will spend a lot of money just to enjoy my life while I'm still young, I'm making sure that I have retirement plans through investments and also business, because when the time comes that I can't work in the corporate world anymore, I want to have something that could make me money, and that's when investments and business come. Don't limit yourself just because you want to save up for your future or retirement; make it possible that you can enjoy life however you want while you are securing your future and retirement. That is the best retirement plan I could think of. You've enjoyed your youth at the same time you are secured in the future.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a group or organization that specifically supports Bitcoin as currency? on: January 26, 2024, 11:28:52 PM
It depends on where you are residing. Well,  it will be good if there is a group or organization that supports bitcoin as a currency; they mainly promote bitcoin or the usage of crypto currency, and among the members, they are using crypto currency as their mode of transaction. But if the group or organization has only a small number and can't grow because of where they are, then that group or organization will struggle to maintain their group. So it will be worth it if the place you are in has a majority of people who are open-minded or open to new discoveries and aren't afraid to try anything new. Remember, a group or organization will be called an organization if there are a lot of people who support it and are ready to spread the mission and vision of that group. I'm sure there are many communities that are centered on bitcoin and crypto currency; they are just on the internet.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 26, 2024, 11:08:08 PM
Addiction to gambling is not a problem for some gamblers because there are some gamblers who are addicted to gambling, but it doesn't affect the other activities of their life. They take care of their families, wear good clothes, smell nice, meet up with appointments but still cannot control the urge to gamble. It doesn't affect their life because they can afford to gamble and manage the loses they make. So, to these people addiction is not a problem. They are addicts, but because they are successful, their addiction is ignored or excused as it is not a problem.
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

The word addiction, from its meaning,  is something that people do execcably, and anything excessive and too much is bad. Maybe you are in the shoes of someone who has wealth and is also a gambling addict, but are you sure it doesn't affect anything? Maybe not in the field of money, but how about how that gambling addict treats other people? or his well-being, are you sure that he doesn't develop anything bad because of his addiction? addicition, meaning he will spend a lot of his time doing gambling that doesn't treat him as bad or a problem? I think not. Even rich people who have money and abuse that money through excessive gambling can have an effect on their financial state. Money is not infinite for them, and they are also people, so what makes you think that gambling addiction will not be a problem for those wealthy people?
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 09:19:05 PM
Do you really see gambling as more of fun than a means to a financial end?

how much can you put into gambling before it removes the fun aspect of gambling out of it?
Why not both? I mean if you really love that sport that you even play with it and at the same time you can make a bet for your favorite team or player, I think winning over it would be just an extra for you having fun but sure it involves both. As I've said you don't have to sacrifice the fun just to say you're earning out of it, you can let it stay with the chance of winning some money.
Exactly! Many people are being hyprocrites or gamblers, saying they are doing gambling just for fun so they can't be called addicted or hoping for financial benefit from gambling. Honestly, I would say I'm not hoping to win in a gamble as long as I'm enjoying it, because I don't want to hope and expect so that it wouldn't hurt if, for instance, I still don't win anything at the end of the day. But it's not that I waste money for fun or entertainment; I allocated a budget wherein no matter what happens in my gambling session, that money will not affect my financial state, more like that money is meant for gambling, so either I win or not, it doesn't matter.

Of course I'm a human too; sometimes I feel frustration, but it's normal. As long as I can maintain myself by using only the allocated money from Ganblin, it's alright. So yeah, gambling can be both fun and a financial benefit; it will depend on the gamblers how they implement it for themselves.
715  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: January 26, 2024, 12:35:24 PM
Holding, or HODL, is not as easy as it sounds or looks. We all know from years of experience in the cryptocurrency world that holding any kind of crypto is challenging because yes, it's easy to buy assets and let them sit there for a while until the price increases, but without proper knowledge and analysis of the market, you can't maximise the potential profit, and you also can't be sure that the price of your assets will increase at that point, as we know crypto currencies are very volatile. So newbies out there who don't have a proper idea and knowledge about Bitcoin shouldn't just buy it because they got into the hype and heard of the upcoming bull run. Holding assets is also not a quick-rich scheme, as you will not do anything aside from wait for the assets to increase, so before entering into holding assets, you better be prepared.
716  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the best indicators for following trend in cryptotrading? on: January 26, 2024, 09:31:01 AM
To be honest there is no single strategy which you can rely on forever as it's an evolving thing wherein we need to keep testing numerous indicators to apply the one which is suitable for the market trend. Never ever stick to any particular indicator but rather do lot of back testing with multiple ones and find the best one as per market trend. I am would repeating what most of the users would quote which is DYOR and don't fall for any premium channels impersonating to be experts.
Well, you do have a point, but that's why the OP's asking for different kinds of indicators to follow for trading. It doesn't mean that we will stick to that; in fact, there are no specific signals that will work every time. That's why it's best to know many kinds of indicators so that they can help you in plotting your technical analysis. Honestly, I've learned quite a few indicators or trading methods, and sometimes it takes more than just one trading strategy and indicator to plot an analysis in the market. As we know, the crypto market is volatile. That's why you can learn a lot of strategies, indicators, or anything else that could help you increase the accuracy of your analysis to trade efficiently. The most important thing is to adopt, for example, this kind of topic. Because of this, you can gather and discover different kinds of indicators or strategies from different traders, and then it's up to you to study and apply them in real trade.
717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Playing crypto for many years without holding Bitcoin. on: January 26, 2024, 08:05:11 AM
Well, based on the OP's statement, the guy is trading coins, bitcoin, shitcoins, and memecoins, and the sister is doing HODL, but based on the OP, the sister is more successful than the guy. Well, it depends, because for me, both trading and HODL are profitable as long as you are doing them with knowledge. Yes, trading is very hard and risky and has the chance of losing money, but it's the same as holding assets, because if you buy a coin in a bad position, you will lose your asset as the liquidity can't keep up. There are also more traders who are successful than those who hold coins, because some holders of coins just buy coins without knowing about them, so I think the success of the crypto industry depends on the knowledge and skills the investors have. If the person or investor will invest first in acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge, then there's nothing possible in crypto.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To any Bitcoin holder who lost their seed: How did you lose it? on: January 26, 2024, 05:34:57 AM
What mistakes did you make, and what advice do you have for others to be careful?

What are the best and worst ways of storing a seed in your opinion?
So far over the years of my crypto journey, I didn't experience that I lost my seed phrase or forgot about it, maybe because I have my own way of securing it and accessing it. Honestly, in my first years or early days of my crypto journey, I only typed my seed phrase in a notepad on my computer and let it sit there, but luckily I didn't encounter someone who hacked my computer and accessed my passwords and seed phrase. But maybe because I have knowledge when it comes to technology and the internet, I know what to avoid and what to do to secure my properties. Remember, if you are storing your seed phrase on the internet, like Google Drive or cloud storage, then stop it immediately because hackers could easily access it. But if you are storing your seed phrase on your device only or on a computer, remember to encrypt your files containing seed phrases and don't access malicious websites because there are places where you can get malware that could access your device and steal what it can.
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: lucky check club lottery on: January 25, 2024, 11:40:17 PM
this is not a casino - this is a lottery
users pay with a credit card, but not with cryptocurrency, that's why we're interested
What's interesting about this? No offence, but you posted in a crypto-based forum and suggested or promoted a lottery website that doesn't accept crypto currency payments. Do you expect anyone will be happy about it? Maybe some might try the website, but the majority here is crypto currency-based, so I guess that's why the topic doesn't have enough comments or replies because, as you said, it doesn't accept cryptocurrency payments. It's not clear if you own or promote this website, but if it does, if you can still add crypto currency payments, it will be a good thing for your website, and by promoting it, you might attract many players to your website. Also, you can add more information about the website so that viewers will see if there's anything interesting about it. In short, you should learn how to attract potential players to the website you are promoting, that's the basics of promoting.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: January 25, 2024, 11:06:17 PM
Gambling mostly depends on a individual and his game management. Cause some games are totally on luck like slot machines! No need skill just try luck and some samilar games  available. then Cricket, football, basketball are kind of games where a gamble can calculate team performance and only can predict what could going to happened but things will depend on players, so this is also kind of luck and kind of skill matters. Then blackjack, rolloet depends on luck but also how strategic a gambler are! And with experience and Stategy, a gamble can make result in his favor, in my opinion

While knowing when to quick is surely considered a skill in gambling, I'm not sure the actual game is anything but luck.  2 players with the same strategy could see entirely different outcomes just based on the amount of luck they have.  Sure, some will say that there is a science to it, but at the end of the day gambling is about odds, and odds are just the expression of luck.  Whether someone beats the odds or not (or gets lucky in other words) is typically the deciding factor on whether or not someone wins money, especially over time considering the odds (or luck) is skewed towards the house.
True! skills in gaming or smart people doesn't have the thing to win if they are not lucky, some games depend solely on luck, like slots machines, roulette, and many more. That's why I avoid those games as long as I can because I know I don't have enough luck to win in this kind of gambling game, because if I push through to win in this game, I know I will not go anywhere and will only lose money. That's why I'm more into gambling games that require skills and using the mind—card games, to be exact—or sports betting. In these games, I can have a basis and more likely have a chance to win and earn a lot. But of course there is still a factor of luck in these games, but it doesn't matter as long as it's more on skills and wits. Then I'm confident enough to gamble in them.
