701  Economy / Economics / Re: The New Zealand Pension Fund announced a $ 17.5 million bitcoin (BTC) investment on: March 29, 2021, 07:18:49 PM
First, it should be emphasized that this is not a large investment (if we look from the perspective of large investors), but a test driven probably by speculation that pension funds around the world allocate part of their assets to Bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies. Such funds are looking for opportunities for long-term and stable returns, and if the term digital gold is increasingly used when BTC is mentioned, we should not be surprised at all that such things happen.

It is speculated that a significant portion of the investment that goes through Grayscale is actually partly from pension funds, and the money they keep under their control is significant. Still, it would be interesting to know what those who actually pay into pension funds think about such investments, because although none of them will complain about higher pensions, what if Bitcoin follows its usual pattern and enters crypto winter again after a while?

Grayscale Investments LLC’s new chief executive officer says the world’s largest manager of digital assets expects increased interest from institutional investors such as pension funds and endowments to continue to fuel its rapid growth.

Small or big investment this shows how another area of investing will be conquered by bitcoin in the next years! The self-fulfilling prophecy of the asset that's becoming better than gold is here. Once more and more states start to do that I can't really think of a limit for the price.
Let them buy
702  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after the pandemic on: March 29, 2021, 07:15:55 PM
The fact is that during the pandemic, Bitcoin is recognized all over the world as a very profitable asset, along with the usual assets. Based on this, the benefit of the pandemic is that once having believed in Bitcoin, this trust will remain with investors forever. Thus, the capitalization of bitcoin will only increase, of course, given the market corrections.
No other asset performed like bitcoin during the last crazy year, nothing can compare against the our greatest orange friend! Regarding your comment about the fact that people believed in bitcoin, I hope don't just rely solely on belief but they should do their own research about why investing.
That's the way to go.

 Huh
Sometimes too much analysis could kill the fun but could well save people's money, even though is not all that it's required to win the house. Also, too much analysis is another form of craziness and so I don't advise anyone to put too much effort into that.
Just play for fun for God's sake!  Wink
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 29, 2021, 07:09:18 PM
If this year is Porto eliminates Chelsea, Porto will go to the final. It would be a surprising result.I remembered that Greece won the european championship. They chances were low in Euro 2004, but Greece became the champion.Porto could win UCL this year. They should have good luck sure.
I do believe that Porto came to the end of the road here. The reality is that Juventus is not doing as great as they did in the Serie A neither, they are not doing that well, which is why I do understand them losing on champions league as well. But Chelsea is a well oiled machine and they are working great. They are doing good on premier league as well and fighting for champions league too, which is all great if you ask me.

A battle between these two should be going to Chelsea for sure, it looks more possible. Of course there is a chance, of course Porto may win, it is football and more unlikely stuff has happened in football before, but beating Juventus and beating Chelsea is not the same, if you can beat Juventus you are a good team, if you beat Chelsea you are a great team. Sometimes unexpected teams beat some big names, remember Ajax few years back? That could be Porto but I do not think that will happen.
Porto has got no chances to get past Chelsea in the quarter-final. I have to agree with the majority of posters here because Porto doesn't look like can do harm to the Londoners. But whatever what we may think, eventually this is going to be a very entertaining quarter final with plenty of goals. We need to wait only a few days.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 29, 2021, 07:05:20 PM
Bayern Munich is trying to win in the race to sign Reading FC starlet Michael Olise, who is also a target for Premier League giants like Chelsea and Manchester City. The guy is emerging from his premiership glory and the bavarians want to take him out of England. This shows how widespread Bayern observers are in terms of talent discovery.
Michael Olise is talented enough. I think he will become more efficient in the future if he gets close to a skilled and experienced coach. He is only 19 years old. Now is the right time to develop his talent. He has to choose the right club.
I agree he's a great player for that age and I think Bayern Munich could be the best team for him to develop his football skills. But will he leave the United Kingdom? That's the thought I'm wondering about.
Can't wait for the international boring games to be over to go back to our fav leagues.

Bought $500 at the bottom around $50390.
 Cool
Boy this felt so good! Being the worst trader in the world I supposed that buying that amount could have aided the drop to get bigger. For the first time it was not the case and I can proudly admit that I bought the dip at the bottom!

707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Investing on: March 28, 2021, 02:33:09 PM
my 3% altcoin exposure is lowering my overall btc amount today. Most of the famous altcoins are in red waters and I can't wait to swap them for BTC again. Even such a tiny stupid diversification does not help in boosting the bitcoin amount that can be done with it.
100% BTC is the ultimate goal for me in the next few months.
708  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: March 28, 2021, 02:29:53 PM
Personally I believe that for every job there can be some average working conditions. Let me explain, if you are bus driver you cannot even think to work from home and hence you must have shifts in which you do your task whereas if you do software development it's really up to you on how to determine the effort needed to complete a task.
For all the jobs the fall in the second category, working by objectives with flexibility is the way to go.
To put it simply, we should be starting valuing time more in terms of what can be done in certain time-frame rather then thinking that a certain task can be done in one hour.
709  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Ray Dalio predicting bitcoin to be outlawed on: March 28, 2021, 02:23:48 PM
A general ban on bitcoin and crypto in general is not viable right now. The state could well find a way to put some indirect bans but that won't help with their goal. I think they guy only want to throw the ball in the arena to see what's the sentiment and get a feeling of could be a possible reaction to it. IMHO, I don't see it happening.

711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teams on your personal blacklist on: March 28, 2021, 02:13:26 PM
This year both Juventus and Leverkusen deserve a special mention in my up-to-date personal blacklist: I think I lost at least 10 bets because of these two teams combined! Worst lost bet happened on March 21st when I was hoping to go for the jackpot but Leverkusen lost 3-0 with Hertha and smashed a bet where I picked 9 results out of ten correctly!
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 28, 2021, 02:09:58 PM
I'm watching Kazakhstan - France and while the French are dominating and leading the game by two goals I can say this is the most un-entertaining game I've witnessed recently. France's supremacy is there but they are not pushing the throttle too much.
In fact, most of the games are so boring.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 28, 2021, 02:05:25 PM
Leo Messi will probably leave Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain this year (I think only three teams can pay his contract and these are PSG, MCFC and Bayern Munich). I think the guy needs a break from his actual playground and going to France can only benefit him.

I think he can go at PSG only if they will sell Mbappè. I can't see how they can pay Neymar, Mbappè and Neymar salaries:Smiley
They should also get Sergio Ramos according to rumors.

Also, Ronaldo if he will leave the ends in PSG or United...
That's true, before signing with Leo Messi they should either sell Neymar or Mbappé considering their actual salaries. Maybe they could offload Neymar, he's done his part and Mbappé is on the verge of becoming a new golden boy so if I'd go for Messi, I'd make sure to sell Neymar first.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Miners Hodling Rates Increases. on: March 26, 2021, 07:48:07 PM
It's a natural movement at the moment and I'm not worried if miners unload some ammos for sustuaning their businesses in the future. Don't forget that mining is a very complex business which involves a huge money and risk management to stay competitive as the hashrate grows so crazily.
I don't see this as a problem, really.

716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: March 26, 2021, 07:43:04 PM
Yeah, forget about leaving your life to some fate you cannot see let alone conceive. We are for a reason, okay? Let's do our choices and let's take our own responsibilities with the way we live. We have to experience everything in our life to be able to master both the good and the bad, because one thing's for sure: we'll experience both of them, trust me.
Apply this to gambling and live with it, you'll avoid losing your money and your mental health.

I would prefer to call it freewill, that's what governs our choices when gambling, when choosing our jobs, when asking that girl to meet us and so on. I don't believe in fate, it's a big excuse for us not to take any responsibility in our real life and I don't like it. Let's ride our life, and let's avoid to be used as a taxi.
