701  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on December 27th on: December 22, 2014, 09:46:50 PM
@Pekatete,

Thanks for the idea!

Cons to EMS is package gets damaged or get lost too often than UPS Express Air Shipping.

Would be nice if Bitmain re-introduced the option to ship via / with EMS - I am sure it will be a lot cheaper than UPS (and obviously DHL). I know they are not as fast as the other behemoths, but we'd be selecting them in that knowledge.

Bottom = YES
Top = NO  (Open Top Design)

So have we heard definitively whether or not there is a top and bottom to this unit?
703  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on December 27th on: December 22, 2014, 09:43:58 PM
There is always a chance or possibilities, but we DO NOT recommend any over clocking.  S5 specific, may be but count it as not much...  Please don't count on OC potential when you calculate mining gain as power consumption usually goes up and the hard ware failure may happens.

BitmainWarranty, what is the overclocking potential of S5??
704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on December 27th on: December 22, 2014, 06:52:50 PM
Hey guys!!!

We have crunched numbers now and still crunching.  Stay tuned for http://www.bitmaintech.com

Hi Guys,

S5 is same size as S3.

Any suggestions, PM us!!!

English Support is getting better and will be...  (I hope, if not let us know  Cry)
+1-844-248-6246 Option 2 for the techs.
Native Speakers are limited so if the line was not answered in 3 minutes, please leave a message, someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

If a 10' pole is not long enough, we may have a 20' pole to share   Grin Grin Grin
(Sorry not being politically correct, but should be no pole needed for the S5  Wink)

New firmware Revisions to the S3 & S3+ are almost complete. This time, we are currently testing with over 2,500 S3 and S3+ with different batches to make sure it runs smoother.  *CPU performance seems to be getting better.  Hopefully the revision be uploaded once we confirm the firmware works better on these mass testing.

S5, you don't have to "hack" to achieve 0.51W/GH at higher $/GH, or better noise level

We are the support group but if you think the S5 price is not advantageous to customers, would you kindly PM us so we can forward the info to the internal sales team!!!

Happy Holiday!!!!

May be something got lost in the translation...  Huh

All Antminer Product comes with 90-day parts replacement warranty.

Sent you PM.  Please check!  Cheesy

Does the S2 lifetime warranty?

Could you confirm this?
...We have already contacted Bitmain and they state that item is under lifetime warranty and boards may be returned for repair or replacement for free.  We would like to sell item instead of going to taking the time to return. ...

Checking, might be a while as quite a few staff heading to the St Peters' conference.

Hi dogie, are there any news?..
707  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 21, 2014, 08:12:26 PM
Usually Batch 1 has the best value... Sticker Price may be ouch at initial look, but the long term view should be good. (No promisse but I could not resist...)

Happy Holiday!

is the price gonna drop ? i think i better wait for S5 but NOT batch 1 ....

batch 1-2 is ALWAYS the most profitable (if they work). My underperforming batch 1 machine made way more BTC than outperforming batch 7.
708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S4,3 Noise levels and the true realities of Bitcoin mining in the house on: December 21, 2014, 08:10:18 PM
Please wait for the official announcement from the sales group and then if we could, we will post the noise level comparisons for everyone to see!!

Happy Holiday!

so how will S5 be compared to S3?

THANK YOU, SIR!!!   Cheesy Kiss

@notlist3d

Hey, could you share the link to the pump you use?

Please!!!!!   Wink

Sure! I am using http://www.ebay.com/itm/380693788606 powered by www.amazon.com/Phobya-4-Pin-3-Pin-Splitter-Connection/dp/B007S3T4O0 .

There could be better ones out there.  I just had to get one in a hurry to get my miners back up.  Those did the trick.

hummmmmm   Cry

S3 and S4 uses BM1382 chips.  S5... I think you already caught it  BM1384 chips.  : Wink

Some works could be copy and paste, but we will be paying more attention to details.  Each time you catch something, please let us know!

Thank you for the video!

Yes, S4 is louder than S3 or S2.  S5 will be quieter than S4 Cheesy

@mdude77

Antminer S4 now ships with DHCP Activated as the default network setting.

First, please access to your Router's Control Panel and go to the DHCP Table (IP Assignment) page.

Connect your S4 into your Router, then power it on.

In 2-4 minutes, please take a look at the LCD panel and use the IP address displayed on the screen on your web browser to access the web interface of the Antminer.

If your router is not activated to handle DHCP, the screen will show the IP address of 127.0.0.1

Please find a router that has DHCP enabled, or please activate the DHCP on the router and connect.

Bank Wire Transaction Time....

Some bank you send the payment from may clear and shows up in Bitmain's Account the same day, some the following day, or the next business day or 2-4 business days.

It is all depends on if the wire was sent on the same business day cut off time, if the bank you sent the payment from has any intermediary bank before reaching to Bitmain's Bank Account, mis-spelled "Bitmain Technologies Limited" in the wire instruction.

If you can, please add what you are paying for in the note and OrderID or your e-mail address associated with Bitmaintech.com account or Bitmaintech.com website username.

If you din't put anything in the note, please don't worry, please take a few pictures of the wire receipt and e-mail it to info@bitmaintech.com and someone will be in contact with you.

715  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: anyone got a spare 1352.254 BTC on: December 21, 2014, 03:35:58 AM
Hardware failure rate is average less than 0.5%

Current S4 has different PSU than batch 1 and partial Batch 2.  Hashing PCB is newer design and the control PCB has newer design and internal cables are different.

I'd be interested in how often they are replacing burnt out power supplies and costs associated.
716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 19, 2014, 04:58:37 AM
What PSU do you use?

HELP!

Each miner goes though rigorous quality control by QA staffs multiple times.  Sometimes the air turbulence during the air freight may cause damages to the miner as we use International Express via Air to deliver miners to the end customers.

Please PM here or contact +1-844-248-6246 Option 2 to request the replacement parts sent to you.  Please prepare the original order confirmation page to submit to the techs on the phone or in PM.

PS: some are beyond our control, however, we do not point finger at UPS and say, UPS's problem deal with them, but, rather, when we are notified, we will handle the DOA RMA process as fast as we can.

@techgeeks
If you have a blank LCD screen during the bootup, then more than likely the loose contact MicroSD card, or currupted MicroSD card or damaged MicroSD card.  Please try to reseat the microSD card, if that doesn't work, please try to reimage the MicroSD card from the image available at http://www.bitmaintech.com

Thank you

Bitmain Warranty - Are there issues with the power supply - I just received my 16 S4's and 2 had bad power supplies out of the box - yellow/red flashing lights.  Now 3 others have died doing the same.   Running at 240v in a NOC at 65 degrees F.  Help...

Also 2 have 1 board show x's

I am about to order another 16 pack, but concerned about the reliability.

Dang, I had it up and running and then had to go change something.
First start had no display and forum help said to pop out card, back in, reboot. This worked… DHCP assigned an IP and it was displayed in the LED. So far so good.

I logged in, changed the password, and Hostname to AntMinerS4 (I also have an S3 so I added S4 as not to conflict with DNS name).
Changed Pools and all worked great all night.

So here’s where it goes wrong. I went to the NETWORK tab and changed the Subnet to 255.255.255.0 and the Gateway and DNS to my Router, 192.168.1.1. I had NOT yet changed the setting from DHCP to STATIC before hitting SAVE and APPLY. Once the S4 rebooted the LED displayed the local loopback 127.0.0.1 instead of an allocated IP. So, I rebooted again and this time I have no display again.
I’m trying to do a factory reset on it and just leave the NETWORK setting alone but can’t seem to get the unit to reset. Not 100% sure how to do this. From what I’ve read, you press a paper clip into the small hole at the bottom left of the LED panel for 3+ seconds to reset. I’ve also read the red light will blink and then it should restart. With the unit on, when I press the paper clip in and hold for 10 seconds and remove, nothing happens…

Am I doing something wrong in order to get the unit to factory reset all settings?

720  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: December 04, 2014, 10:01:42 AM
SSH into the S1,

then please edit /etc/init.d/cgminer file

comment out the whole IF statement near the end of the file with the last line "fi"

vi cgminer

then press "i" to enter the edit mode

Place "#" in front of each line.

then press "Escape", ":" "wq" then "Enter"

Please login to the control panel, then go to the "System" tab, and uncheck Time Sync

then hit "Save & Apply" will fix this issue

Hi Sam,

If you could, pleaes power off the S1, then turn it back on.  Wait for about 4 minutes, then could you please copy and paste the entire SYSTEM LOG for S1?

if  you could, lets test the S1 control PCB first.  Remove the S1 control PCB and place it on the working S1 and see if it hashes.

If the control PCB is good, then remove one of the questionable hashing PCB and connect it to the known working S1, and see if it hashes.

Repeat 1 more time with the other PCB.

If any of them shows problem, then you 'll know it is the damaged item.  Contact the seller and ask for exchange or refund.

Thank you for your help!

By that time in the log, the problem had already occurred (no hashing, hardware fault "XXX"s)

Otherwise, I'm not sure I want to start taking several of my S1s apart.  Whether the control board or the hashing board is broken on this one, either way I'm going to return it.  I was just hoping that maybe there was a fix.
