701  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is buying an ASIC even worth it? on: April 12, 2013, 04:43:06 AM
I thought the 5 GH/s seemed tempting too, even if just for the hell of it as it probably won't get much profit, and I would buy it, that is if they shipped and I knew for a fact that I wouldn't have to wait more than a month for my purchase to arrive.

They are going to ship in two weeks.
702  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 11197-03-40G (7970) - need help optimizing for LTC mining on: April 12, 2013, 04:41:09 AM
I've got 2 of these cards so far, each hitting ~580 Kh/s with stock settings.

I have tried lots of Sapphire 7970 cards (Vapor-X, OC, GHz Edition, 3 and 6GB versions, etc. ...), but the best one for LTC mining is the bog-standard Sapphire 7970. It does 680 Kh/s with no overclocking.

No idea why the other, much more expensive (and supposedly faster), Sapphire 7970s cards are much slower mining LTC.
703  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I think BFL deserves a bit more benefit of the doubt on: April 12, 2013, 04:32:37 AM
First you write:
Bottom line is that your free to take a refund if your not happy to wait.

... and then you write:
Quote
My only fear is that they will some how go out of business before I get what I paid for.

So ... why don't you just stop your whining and get a refund yourself?  Wink
704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is buying an ASIC even worth it? on: April 12, 2013, 04:12:36 AM
No body seems to even be shipping yet but with people like BFL selling 5 gh/s units for about $275 its tempting.

Sell yes.
Ship no.

If they are waiting on new boards with new power regulators then of course they wouldn't be doing anything besides software tweaks.

Which makes on think: What did they do the last 9 month (besides waiting and playing Minecraft)?
706  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Timeline - illustrated on: April 10, 2013, 07:15:15 AM
However, their claims of having a prototype when it was clear they did not is misrepresenting the facts.

AFAIK they never said they have a working prototype (until recently).

I have asked them a gazillion times during the last 7 month and they (Inaba/Josh) either ignored this questions or weasled its way out.

709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [LTC] To all pool operators on: April 09, 2013, 06:48:57 AM
It seems almost all LTC pools are having troubles at the moment.

I would like to know the reason for this.

Is it mainly because of the large number of DDOS attacks?
Or because of the many new users mining Litecoin (and your sites have not been prepared for this unexpected load).
Or because of changes / new features the pool software itself (Stratum, vardiff)?

If it's mainly due to the DDOS attacks, do you have a suspicion who's behind it?
710  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overc monit fanspd RPC stratum linux/windws/osx/mip/r-pi 2.11.4 on: April 09, 2013, 01:10:18 AM
Would it be possible to set the upper difficulty limit for Stratum in the client?

E.g. while mining Litecoins on ltcmine.ru I sometimes get a very high difficulty. The result in cgminer is that I only see something like this:

[2013-04-08 03:08:26] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:08:48] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:09:04] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:09:43] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block

No accepted, no rejected - only new block messages.

LTC: Since a day or two (maybe longer) I have a very high reject rate. About 10%.

I didn't have this problem before. coinotron, did you change something?

I'm working on it.

Out of curiosity: What's the problem?
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC][Pool][PPS]notroll.in PPS Pool | Port80 Mining | Stratum | US&EU Servers on: April 08, 2013, 06:45:44 PM
notroll.in - pps w/ 5% tax, pps share = 0.00011271139645285000
coinotron - pps w/ 5% tax, pps share = 0.00022557

Find the differences.

The difference is difficulty  Tongue

I thought they are on vardiff now. Why do/would they still use a fixed pps share?
713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs on: April 08, 2013, 06:12:52 PM
Would it be possible to get a new shipping estimate from an official BFL employee?

I didn't find up to date information on the BFL website.

Asking on the official BFL forums, I only got trolled & ridiculed, no valuable information was given to me.

Two questions:

(1) Is there a way to trigger a manual payout? I only see an automatic payout option.

(2) Is automatic payout working for TRC? I have an amount > payout threshold, and nothing happens.

are shares not being recorded properly on eu?

Same here. Seems there are again problems with the EU servers (shares not counted).

717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have applied for a refund from BFL Labs 03.April.13 (Refunded 05-April-2013) on: April 07, 2013, 02:58:05 PM
Compared to the other (failed) ASIC vendors, there's only one thing BFL seems to be good at: refunds.

So the only logical choice for all BFL customers would be: Get a refund. At least that's working.

720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some sub forums up in hur? on: April 07, 2013, 11:46:24 AM
Sometimes I want to read about LTC, sometimes TRC, shit even BBQ... Why can't we just have subforums for every crazy ass alt coin so I don't have to search through all the herping and derping about Ripple to find out something about why my TRC wallet is messed up? Thanks.

+1 for subforums
