721  Economy / Goods / Re: What store would you like added to spendbitcoins.com next? on: August 27, 2011, 03:31:00 AM
We have just added a new page which allows you to purchase from practically any website with your bitcoins. The bitcoin rate is slightly lower to cover our costs, time and produce a profit, but it does offer you the chance to buy anything at practically any website worldwide.

You are also voting with your bitcoins. The more orders we get for a particular site, the more we will push to get an affiliate relationship with them to put them on the main page with the NO FEES rate.

So, go shopping anywhere now... http://anything.spendbitcoins.com.

I don't think you can add it to an existing account. You'll have to open a new account for the discount.
723  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend bitcoins on amazon, Go Daddy, barnes & noble, etc with no transaction on: August 24, 2011, 08:24:34 PM
If we buy stuff from amazon through your link, even though we already had an amazon account long ago, do you still get affiliate sales payouts? I don't have enough bitcoin to buy anything worthwhile but still wanted to support you next time I make an amazon purchase.

Wow, thanks!

Yes, anytime you add an item to your cart and checkout through our links we get credit, no matter how long you've had an account.

Happy spending!

725  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Android Bitcoin Wallet on: August 23, 2011, 06:51:00 AM
Did you assign a fee?

You can reset transactions + blockchain in Options Menu -> About. The app will need to re-download the blockchain afterwards, this will take some time.

No fee.

I did the reset and it just came up as a hung transaction again. If I delete the app and redownload it will my wallet file still be there?

Nevermind. Transactions came up fairly quickly but it took several more hours to update the blockchain. While that hung transaction still showed, my balance in the end was restored. I sent the coins again and they went through just fine.

Thanks!
Jeremy

Hi Goonie.

Firstly, amazing app. Thanks!

I am having an issue, however, that I hope you can help me with.

I made a transaction approximately 30 hours ago which is simply hanging in the app. It is not showing in blockexplorer and has not arrived at the recipient's address. It just shows as grey (unconfirmed) in the app but has been deducted from my balance.

Is there a way to either force it to resend or to reclaim the coins?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
728  Economy / Services / Sponsor Spend Bitcoins -- put your bitcoin accepting store on the shelf! on: August 21, 2011, 11:03:38 PM
How to sponsor Spend Bitcoins:

1) Email your logo & the url to which you wish us to link to sponsorATspendbitcoinsDOTcom and request a unique bitcoin address to send payments to.
2) Send a minimum of BTC 1 to your unique payment address. The more you send, the higher you are on the shelves* (stores are ordered by total amount sent in sponsorships over the previous 5 week period).
3) Your store will be featured from the day following your payment for a minimum of 5 weeks. It will be bumped down the shelves if others send higher payments than you did. To bump yourself back up the shelves, just send more bitcoins to your unique payment address. Each time you send a payment of at least BTC 1, you are guaranteed another 5 weeks from that date.

*Please note, if we are signed up for an affiliate program with you, any time you send affiliate payments to us, those will count as a payment to bump you up the shelves.

What about zazzle.com? they say they do 15% for affiliates, plus you could make spendbitcoin.com t-shirts and get an extra cut if you affiliate linked to those.

Sounds great! I'll look into it ASAP.

737  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend Bitcoins on Memory Dealers on: August 13, 2011, 07:40:19 AM
I haven't actually ordered anything from Memory Dealers, but I have done business with the owner. He has been very helpful with the continuing operations of Spend Bitcoins.

Also, he is the man behind the famous "Bitcoin Billboard". He is doing a lot for bitcoins. If you need anything transceiver, memory, hardware, or cable related, have a look at the site, and support someone who supports bitcoin big time!

would you be willing to work with small companies to help provide the potential for bitcoin sales. (i.e. customer->bitcoin->you->usd->us?) I think that could potentially resolve a conflict we were having about the potential risk of volatility with accepting bitcoin for sales and having to keep a close eye on prices.

Hey there,

Of course I would!

Please PM an offer to me and we'll get the ball rolling.

We haven't made it to market yet, still in development just keeping an eye open for options.

Cool. Let me know if you have any questions.
740  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help me brainstorm for Spend Bitcoins on: August 12, 2011, 06:56:54 AM
Once Bitcoins goes back up to 11USD per 1BTC (if it does), then I'll be more than happy enough to bring back selling steam games.

Cool site.
