Asking OP or sending notification to OP does not have any meaning if OP is also not active.
It is better to just lock them after 120 days of inactivity and only OP/mod can unlock it if required.

I am confused in some point.

1. Is it the same (exact) software that will be we are using in future or it is some beta/test version.
2. If we put software as open source then phishing  site like bitcointalk.to will not take advantage?
3. Why theymos want user to test it voluntarily only? Is it not good if forum spend couple of grands and user here and hired QA both test it together?
4.Requirement Doc need to be updated first before any testing.

Not only OP is introducing lot off new ranks but changing the activity periods of existing rank. Changing activity period of well established ranks might cause confusion and chaos.

Responding to the retaliatory feedback  is no required because when you see a -ve trust on user X profile by user Y then you also check user Y trust to find whether you should consider user Y rating or not. You will immediately understand it retaliatory feedback on user X profile.

I guess OP measure will reduce retaliatory feedback because some of the retaliatory feedback exist because trust page have no option to respond/link with their own side of story.

I guess changing the colour from silver to platanium will solve the badge problem of badges color.

But badge will make things too much difficult to understand. For a same rank of ranked up Senior Member  ,badges should be different if somebody ranked from  Member to Senior Member, Newbie to Senior Member or Full Member to Senior Member. For a same rank you have to create so many badges that it will  not look practical and easy to remember.

How "PM Ad Spam"' ban take place? Does somebody reported the PM's sent  or moderator take notice on their own if you are sending too much PM's. ?

Actually I have the same policy in my work environment that you need to change password after every 30 days and you cannot keep previous 5 passwords. Guess what happens with me?

After every 4-5 month when I change the password if I do not note down my password (against the password policy of the company) , I end up raising the ticket to reset my password.
If you want to take all these pain and give all this pain to theymos then you are welcome.
A good password is always good until you did not tell anybody else or get phished.

A safe browsing habit is must ,though changing password occasionally  will do no harm.

What do you mean by still receiving sMerits? Apart from Merit source nobody is getting sMerits now. (forget the airdrop sMerits or sMerits earned by virtue of earned Merits).
Old user also wear the badge according to the Merits earned by them after introduction of merit system. Only the handful of legendary will be able to wear the badge according to their rank.

Yes,look like Theymos is considered alternative punishment to the permanent ban for the plagiarism. Does this mean all the  old banned users can appeal again? Will Theymos again going to see their case as per case by case basis?
