722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Friday - Ask All Your Bitcoin (Newbie) Questions Here! on: September 06, 2014, 01:26:40 PM
What can I do with 0.5 BTC? i want to double it but im scared to lose it in a stupid way  Roll Eyes
I don't think there is a versatile answer for your question.

My advices:
- Hold it (you won't get more bitcoins, but more value comparing to fiat)
- try lending, see section Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Lending
- invest some part in HYIP - check my signature (but its risky, as all hyips)
723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i get some free Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2014, 06:01:13 AM
ask nicely?

This is not working. Can be considered as begging which is not allowed here.
724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stuck in Istanbul, Turkey with no cash on: September 05, 2014, 09:23:31 PM
Localcoins no good. The only person buying with cash has a minimum balance requirement of 15BTC Sad
The ATM at the airport is one way only. The money gram or similar will rape me with fees and commission.

Then just ask, ask, ask around ... or hang a sign around neck "selling bitcoins cheap" .. or in Turkish?
have you tried Turkish section of forum?  use google translator  Wink
725  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: is satoshiponzi.com real? on: September 05, 2014, 08:53:36 PM
Has anyone tried the site satoshiponzi.comHuh
I am interested in this site and really want to try it. Hoping for some users who got any payment from this site

sounds like "real ponzi".  so use carefully, it's sort of gambling.

You'd better try offer in my signature. it's also kind of gambling (hyip), but quite new and ROI in 1 month.
+ special offer for signature campaign. I can recommend it so far.
726  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I still don't understand how mining works on: September 05, 2014, 08:43:09 PM
1) How does your computer solve complex math problems?

2) What gives a miner precedence over another miner in terms of how many coins he/she gets?

3) And how does transaction fees / broadcasting work?  How does the network decide to allow your transaction to go more swift than another transaction (both initiated at the same time).

1) computing?

2) compare to real mining (horse power is like hash power)
by using plastic shovel you won't mine as much coal as using regular pickaxe or excavator ... and Schaufelradbagger 288 ( but powerful tool = lot of energy )

3) higher fee = faster confirmation ... sort of bribe for miners (bitcoin bankers)
it's connected to size (complexity) of transaction. Complex transaction takes more effort (time and power) to process and miners simply want to profit, thus will simply choose the best ratio size/fee.
727  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: September 05, 2014, 06:31:21 PM

732  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offline Mining Rig on: September 05, 2014, 03:26:52 PM
Simple question -
Can I build a rig that I can connect to the internet only as needed to upload/download or do I have to remain connected constantly?
Thanks
SF

Connected constantly.

Agree, while mining you need to be connected. e.g. you have to announce your new block to whole community.

p.s. "offline mining rig" sounds to me like a joke  Cheesy
733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help Please on: September 05, 2014, 03:23:21 PM
Hi, there is not so much to do with such a small amount, you can try gamble (risk of losing all). Dice or I like the luckyb.it
or sign in some hyip program (check my signature) but at your own risk.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins with fixed block find time? on: September 04, 2014, 09:25:54 PM
Hey all, some while ago a quite long block occur. I know in past there were much longer ones, but this time it was quite uncomfortable for me ... bad timing.
So just wonder if there is some altcoin with fixed time of finding a block.
If anybody could make a list for me,  I'll be happy.

thanks

738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Writing: How to start using Bitcoin. Suggestions? on: September 04, 2014, 07:31:31 PM
I think all new users should learn some basic terminology - tx, blockchain,  mBTC, fee, wallet, confirmation, change addy ...
Briefly about wallet types (full client, lightweight, web, paper...) their pros and cons, how to use, pass protect, backup ...
How to buy BTC, list of bitcoin accepted service, roughly about mining, trading and other earnings.
maybe some warnings like many small transactions in single addy, do not lost pass or make backup, double check before payment confirmation, tips how to stay anonymous etc.

hope it helps
