Short answer is, if you want any chesscoin, your best option is probably to put some low orders on yobit and try to catch any that fall your way.

For all intents and purposes, the ICO is really over, as it stopped making sense to invest using bela after the switch in swap value (unless you have tons of bela). It's been sort of a weird ICO setup, and doubly weird with yobit trading while the ICO is still ongoing.

I just remembered there is a giveaway restriction in these forums, so requiring 10 pics, or people to just post random stats, might not be looked upon favorably. Probably best to just have folks PM you their pics/info if they want to enter. Or just call the thing 24 hrs from now, regardless of number of pics ... sure kaicrypzen won't mind.

I wouldn't exactly call 2 btc whale activity. Maybe chesscoin flavored whales... which is like being a bela whale, where 1btc throws the charts all over the place.

Not bad for that size exchange though, but volume needs to remain steady and price rise for it to be considered a good thing.

There is no logical reason to invest with bela now (it made a lot more sense yesterday and earlier), unless you just happen to be a bela holder with a ton of coins, and not enough liquidity to cash out in the bela markets. And not much reason to invest using btc now, since previous bela investors have a huge advantage. Guess the best place to get chesscoin now if someone wants it is on the exchange.

Dev here must have realized this and just wanted to wrap things up. Coin wasn't taking in a ton of btc or bela even with the generous bela terms. That's fine, not all coins need a lot of btc to meet their goals.

I do find the scam/negative comments by some a bit odd, to be honest, as it's like trying to kill an ant with a flamethrower. I'm not sure if any of them bothered to even see how much was taken in -- about equivalent to 2-3 btc. This coin is closer to a semi-free coin than a typical ICO.

It's been ages since I watched coins do the voting thing to get on exchanges (during the old Mintpal days)... guess the dev here would need to do an organized campaign for it though to really have an impact.

It already exists for bela, so assume it doesn't take a whole lot to change it for chesscoin. Not sure where its code is however. App already exists though, just with different branding.

Cat is out of the bag there, locking it on yobit would accomplish nothing at this point. Not sure yobit would listen anyway, as they tend to do their own thing -- they traded Lisk IOUs while the devs asked them to stop.

Nah, don't assume the worst whenever anyone brings up criticism. If the person goes the giant font/red colored scam text route, then yep, he's a troll/fuding. Someone bringing up reasonable concerns, that is fine, for all coins. You can usually tell the difference by persistence. If someone bashes a coin non-stop, for days/weeks, then either they are fuding, have an ulterior motive (wants to buy coins cheap), or is unstable... or all three. If it's someone just stating their case, even a couple of times, and seems sane... that is normal criticism.

There are certainly enough red flags to give one caution ... keep in mind that this isn't exactly a huge ICO, where folks are throwing tons of btc into the ICO, however. It's almost equivalent to those 'near-free' coins that used to be run here, where folks would throw .05 btc or similar crumbs for a stake.

So just for fun, I personally don't see a problem at those sorts of ICO purchase levels. Definitely some oddities with how things were set up, including the bela connection and selling some coins early. The social media campaign/yobit are non-factors to me (unless it's the early trading aspect), which I agree is a bit weird, but lots of coins use social media campaigns, so not a problem there in my opinion.

Bots is the bigger issue, and not sure if that one is easy to get around. Only way I can think of is either tons of annoying captchas during a game, or that the max. amount of coins allowed to be transferred per match is really small ... too small for most folks to bother using bots.

Still... all I expect to see is a chess android app, ideally a chess web portal, some minor chesscoin sorts of betting, which would be at the level of a decent-sized faucet. If the devs manage that and support the coin, that would be a reasonable expectation in my mind.

Will chesscoin get professionals using it? Nope. Major organizations? I'd be amazed. As for the project being done to make money for its developers, of course... no developer here is doing this not to make money. Look at amount invested so far, and you'll see they aren't exactly making a ton of money though. So if you ask me if this is an ICO to throw tons of btc at, or should be considered a longterm, hold for years, sort of coin ... nah, not to me anyway ... cheapo coin just for fun, worst case we get an android chess app + faucet level competition... sure, not a problem to me. Unless the devs abandon the coin at some point or do something extremely shady, that is, then it's not exactly something just for fun.

Staggered freebie payouts make the most sense. That is how Lisk did it (sorta), and their dumping level was very manageable (actually not sure if freebie people even dumped much at all over there... just a natural decline from initial high).

In my opinion, I'd say they'd be better off releasing coins to ICO investors first, bounty people about a week later. Reasons being ... bounty people always dump. For all coins. It doesn't matter in regard to coin development, features, or any of that. Some ICO people will dump too, but since they spent at least something for their coins, they are more apt to hold onto them if prices get into ridiculous low levels. Bounty people have no such limitation ... they paid nothing, so no minimum for them to cash out.

Now the trick is to minimize dumping by announcing coin features 'coming soon' or the lure of a larger exchange. The extra week would in theory give the coin more time to get on a proper exchange (bittrex ideally), or at least provide the lure of a larger exchange on the horizon.

Regardless of scheduling, I do think ICO people should get their coins first. Everyone at the same time, investors + bounties, tends to result in terribleness for all, at least short-term.

Not quite sure where you got those numbers from. You can check the btc donations to see current btc participation. I wouldn't assume 1000 btc participation, or 100 btc... it's a touch lower than that.

To qualify you must be signed up by the end of the day on July 12th (11:59pm EST). Also, you must have 40 posts by the end of our ICO period which ends July 14th at midnight (EST).

You should get less of a bounty as you are signing up late, and need to get the number of posts in, but you can still sign up.

I think it was better to just go with the signature campaign and invest in the ICO using bela than buy any coin on yobit .. or just set insanely low buy orders on yobit if you want to go that route.

I expect some people felt chesscoin on yobit would work like it did for IOU coins ... almost like it's own separate thing, where the coin would rise higher than it would than when released on proper exchanges.

It never made sense for anyone to buy the coin on yobit otherwise. I mean why buy there when you can get it using bela coin? It's not a 1 for 1 swap with bela ... should be much better than that. So I don't get this whole yobit thing to begin with.

And of course the price will dump on yobit, someone either mined coins, or bought some pre-ICO, to try to cash in on this 'early ICO' thing ... yet there should be very little buy interest on yobit, due to bela being so cheap. It's basically a formula for the price to get killed before the ICO is even over.

I wouldn't rule out price manipulation at some point to raise the price, so who knows. But logically there should be very few buyers on yobit right now. That's why it's nonsensical to have a coin on an exchange before the ICO is even over.
