Just waking up, having my morning coffee, still holding. It's amazing what I'm seeing here.

I have 3 BTC at the ready to buy at the next support level after the whales are done playing. James your trading advice is spot on.
its just luck, I have been told it is impossible to do better than 50/50 random chance. They even have scientific studies. just ignore the clown on the trampoline

Smiley

I didnt get much coding done today, but I hope everybody can understand. That whole IRC thing was unexpected and it took me totally out of coding mindset for today.

was it really less than 24 hours ago the price was trying to push through .007?
What changed?
The IRC chat had dozens of people who all seemed very positive toward the end
Also, I am making some good conversations on risto's thread and I have gone from being accused of using sockpuppets to promote BTCD to someone that maybe has some interesting ideas. At least they have all been quite civilized, I had no idea what to expect as I now find out it is quite the XMR camp.

Anyway, without whale games the natural price action is to retest the .01, but we did break past it before the whale games, except were the whales playing some pregames? So, not sure with this X factor. But .009 as support and .01 as ceiling is just fine for now.

At some point when we reach an equilibrium, then we should start painting a nice flag again. That was so cool.
So, when in doubt hodl. We are still below my calculation of theoretical value. I will let you know when I feel it is reaching an overvalued point, with the assuming that I will finish all the tech and that there will be at least some new coins joining the supernetwork.

If the latter gets us a large volume coin, then that would really boost the value as the more users in the supernetwork, the more value. I can only guess with random luck what the price will be on a day to day basis

James

I totally understand all this crazy action got in the way of coding Smiley I read the IRC pastebin and the way you and the drk dev discussed was beautiful. I am so glad that with btcd all the regular fudding and name calling seems to be absent. Just true hard work and awesome development, I think people are starting to realize this that btcd is different. I like your post about the BTCD vortex, where good things revolve around the BTCD core.

I am thankful for being part of this community, its a breath of fresh air. As I said before, it is very much like bitcoin in its early days, a pioneering spirit and positive atmosphere. You guys are doing a great job, the market cap finally seems to be starting to reflect BTCD's dilligence and idealism.

[17:08] <CHAOSiTEC> jl777: hehe sometimes things comes to you and the strangest moments... good thinking, and im looking forward to seeing it in action :-p

http://pastebin.com/qr81Y52q has log

and while you all are quoting me, please also read this quote from me from irc:

Quote
i might be one of the dev for darkcoin, but im always open minded, i just have this curious mind, that has a need to understand how things work

since the paper didnt make some parts clear enough, my conclusion might be wrong, but i hope the chat can shed some light on the points that where highlighted in the chat..

CHAOSiTEC

Good to have you here, thank you for your respectful and open minded approach. It's a good thing people in crypto can question each other in a polite manner. Furthermore, an appreciative nod from a Darkcoin dev is held in high regard.

Can someone tell me how looks price development for next few hours. Is this peak, for current period? Or should I jump in. (noob here sorry)

personally, i feel were about to breakout. and breakout hard. so hard that these recent breakouts will look like small bumps Smiley sell support is thin, buy support is heavy, we are near completion. remember blackcoin + darkcoins epic breakouts to 80m+ market cap. this will be similar, but with less sells, more support and a whole lot more confidence.

like right now if a whale wants a small chunk, lets say 38bitcoin worth of BTCD, it will drive the market to 0.0131, almost doubling the current price.

These are my thoughts exactly.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 25, 2014, 07:03:51 PM
My hands are sweating, but I am not selling. This is truly a long term coin. If aurora reached $70 with no development whatsoever BTCD should at least be $50 with all of its functionality and an anon credit card in the works

When you are up 10x sell 10%. Now you are playing with house money.
10% at 10x is sound advice
never lose money!
this way you always have a bit more money.
some sell 50% at 2x or 33% at 3x, etc.
all depends on how early you discovered BTCD

Well im feeling all Klingon, because I am holding since 20k satoshi.. 10% might be sound advice, but I am not in need of the money. I do appreciate the advice but I feel uneasy selling, not out of greed but out of principle, btcd is still undervalued imho. It should be in the top 5 and it will get there, a rocky road perhaps but it will be.

Maybe we should also translate to some other major languages?

Shall I get some price quotes from professional high quality translation services or is it not necessary to translate into more languages atm?

You can get translations done for pretty much every language on fiverr.com very reasonably priced.  I have used them in the past with great results.

Spanish would be good. South America is increasingly interested in crypto (I know some countries speak Portugese, but the majority can at least read Spanish)

BitcoinDark Block Explorer: http://stakexplorer.com:1234

Enjoy it.

Donations to R9kZxVTw2hk4oU8cKbSPcjFxnE7wBf1rWr are appreciated.

just checked my a/c using the Explorer and got a nasty surprise - the balance showing was approx half what it should have been. Reasoning (or more like fervently hoping) I hadn't been hacked - why would any hacker leave half the balance? - I opened my wallet, waited 5 mins for it to sync (seemed longer somehow) to find the entire balance showing correctly.

Unless it's my wallet that's wrong, it must be the Explorer - they can't both be right

These sort of shocks I can do without  Smiley

The balance will only be correct on a fully synched wallet.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Geolocation Reward System & More! [C-CEX Presale STARTED] on: August 24, 2014, 05:27:36 PM
Would it be technically possible to implement Bitcoin on the Checkcoin infrastructure?

For now, our software will only support Checkcoin. But yes, we could definatly change it so that other cryptocurrencies can also be used. this would definatly be possible. We believe that Bitcoin is here to stay. However, we feel that it would only be fair to early ICO investors if we keep it a Checkcoin exclusive at first Smiley

Would you be able to set "private checkpoints" ? Say I wanted to set a checkpoint only for a specific person or mobile phone, can you either password/encrypt the checkpoint or only share the checkpoint specifically to that person instead of publicly?

Yes. We are currently testing different ways to secure and protect private checkpoints.

Thanks for your reply. Excellent, that is what I wanted to know. I've invested and will keep a close watch. If you guys pull this off, it will be as groundbreaking as facebook.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Geolocation Reward System & More! [C-CEX Presale STARTED] on: August 24, 2014, 11:04:51 AM
I have two questions :

-Would it be technically possible to implement Bitcoin on the Checkcoin infrastructure?
-Would you be able to set "private checkpoints" ? Say I wanted to set a checkpoint only for a specific person or mobile phone, can you either password/encrypt the checkpoint or only share the checkpoint specifically to that person instead of publicly?

I see a lot of potential, especially for commercial purposes. Stores could reward you for coming to them, it's like a direct reward advertising system. In this day and age brick and mortar stores suffer revenue loss because people shop online. So a way of attracting customers to visit could be very valuable. Build a mobile app that converts Checkcoin to fiat and you have a winner, you could impose a minimum time for the checkcoins to be paid out, as to "force" customers to browse your store (or link checkcoins to a specific product etc) Also build a minimum interval between checkcoin payments, so that you won't get people loitering your store for days on end.

If this is well executed it will be a linking pin between cryptocurrency, advertising and true real world applications.

Have you guys been advertising outside the cryptocurrency realm? This project looks like it could attract some venture capital

This basically could cause a "million dollar homepage" like hype if it's done right. (for anyone unfamiliar with the million dollar homepage see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Million_Dollar_Homepage )

Best of luck to you sirs

First of all, we would like to thank you for your imput. I think you have a very clear image of what Checkcoin will be all about.

This is exactly how we came up with project Checkcoin. BitSend (our company) focusses on bringing cryptocurrency to the people. By setting up bitcoin ATM's in citycenters we have created several "bitcoin zones" in the Netherlands. After this is done, we focus on helping businesses to accept Bitcoin using different hardware and software solutions.

A lot of business owners are expeting alot of new customers after they started accepting Bitcoin. Unfortunatly, in most cases this does not happen because there is no real reason as to why customers should start using it as a method of payment. Why pay with cryptocurrency if you can just pay with FIAT?

We then started thinking about different ways to attract new customers to shops and introducing cryptocurrency to the people. Checkcoin will do exactly that. Store owners can set up checkpoints in their stores and reward new visitors with checkcoins on their first visit, or offer a discount when paying with Checkcoin. As for company's in the Netherlands, we will help the first store owners set up, it will just work.

Thank you for your reply. I think you are developing something that is essential to facilitate widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies; a true incentive for people to get involved with crypto. In this Western world,  people are mostly motivated by discounts or financial gains in any shape or form. These prospects will expose people to crypto with the help of checkcoin, where the adoption of crypto is essentially a byproduct of your business model but a very important one.

I envision a future where established shops in The Netherlands that are tech oriented (like Coolblue or Mycom for example) entice people to come into their stores to buy products, because they are offered an "in store discount" with checkcoins. Companies should start calculating what their overhead is for shipping and advertisement costs. The in store credit costs are likely less than those, and the extra generated revenue by sales could offset initial investment in the checkcoin infrastructure even more.

I normally don't invest in ICO's out of principle, but I made an exception for your offering because I truly think it has a future.

Regarding my two questions, could you elaborate on those?

EDIT: An app that would convert checkcoin to in store credit would also be a very good option, as to avoid people just coming to your store, get the coins and leave.

Well the best of luck to your future endeavours, but I am out. You had 13 BTC to start developing, write a whitepaper or be more active in the thread. I am not putting my money into this coin without tangible evidence that there is indeed something in development. I am not saying there isn't, but with all the ICO/IPO drama of late I am hesitant to invest on words alone.

If all this pie in the sky talk comes true.....

.025btc/xc by Christmas
and if xc becomes a common term like Skype or Facebook
Then ... parity

XC has the potential and technology to realize this. I ain't selling a single coin.

I'm very excited about the anon debit cards. I will use them for cashing out my btc to euro's. Is there any limit on how much I can withdraw or receive? Also is there anyone that can explain me what exactly the teleport function will be used for? Thanks

The exact limits for the anon cards are being debated on. Anywhere from $5000 to $10000 per month if I'm correct. A couple of pages back James commented on this.

Ah ok. Doesn't really matter though I will just buy multiple cards if needed  Grin

Can someone withdraw cash from ATM with those anon cards?

Yes, just like with a normal credit card

Edit you can also link PayPal to this card, so effectively you have anon PayPal
