721  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S3+ B11 boot problems on: December 04, 2014, 09:56:02 AM
PM Sent!!

Hey all,

I have a S3+ B11 right here which stopped working. I'm not sure why, but after I changed the IP I cannot connect to the machine anymore. I tried resetting the machine but nothing worked. The green LED and the red LED are on (not blinking, both just on). When I run a network scan I can see the IP from the machine, but I cannot ping it or connect to it.

I tried a crossover cable, setting a static IP to my computer and connecting it 1on1, tried resetting it.... I got no ideas left. Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas?

Edit: when I try resetting the machine, the LEDs just stay on.

After reading pretty much all related posts on Bitcointalk, still no working solution for this issue. Help! Sad

If you open the case and see PCI-E power connectors being connected to the PCBs inside, then you can connect your EVGA 1600 PSU's PCI-E connectors t each connection point and it should work.

1 PCI-E connection to the Control PCB (Behind the LCD but the connector is facing up)
4 PCI-E connections to the hashing PCB (should be front side 2 on the top and 2 at the bottom)

If you have the newer batch, then the power spec is the same but it uses almost like a terminal screw type connection to each hashing PCB.  One is ground and the other is positive (red)

How did you guys connect a different power supply to your S4? I think I had a power surge and one of my S4s wont turn on anymore and I want to see if it works with a 1600 watt EVGA PSU. Do I just connect the PCIE cables to the hash boards and then turn on the PSU? I assume the LED screen will no longer turn on as well since it is connected to the factory PSU.

Thank you for any advice on the matter!
725  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ANTMINER S3 HELP on: November 13, 2014, 08:48:11 PM
This means the reset didn't work.

Please power on the S3 and let it run for 3-4 minutes.

Press and hold the reset button with a paperclip for 5-10 seconds.

Let it go and wait for 3 minutes.

Power it off and wait for 1 minute

Power it back on.

It should be 192.168.1.99 and clear all the setting by then

S3 unfortunately doesn't use microSD card for the firmware.  So there is no swapping the card.

does anyone know where is the sd card so I can reflash it from my mac? any tips?

Please be ready to have your Bitmaintech.com order confirmation page and the screen shots of the Miner Status page!

The image file and the free software to write the image to the MicroSD card is located at https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140413044945482bs4xshkh072D

The software to write directly to the MicroSD card is

https://bitmaintech.com/files/download/SD-partition-tool.zip

Looks like my flash card got corrupted when the power went out recently. Won't reboot. This happened once before but it was a long time ago so I don't remember the procedure to recover. Thanks for any help!

use a class 10 card when reimaging. It will survive power blips that often crap out the class 4 cards

Where can I get a working image?

730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【ACTIVE】AntMiner S2 Tech Support- 4300 units powering a stable 4Peta GHS on: October 31, 2014, 11:37:11 AM
If it works at Nicehash, please let us know if there are any issues hashing there.

731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【ACTIVE】AntMiner S2 Tech Support- 4300 units powering a stable 4Peta GHS on: October 31, 2014, 11:35:15 AM
Let us know the test result!  Hope it works well for you!!!

Flashed new firmware... So far everything is great... I am testing on nicehash now, and with old firmware I could not mine there...
732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【ACTIVE】AntMiner S2 Tech Support- 4300 units powering a stable 4Peta GHS on: October 31, 2014, 11:02:37 AM
YES!

Also, there is a hardware, factory-reset switch.  It's the hole on the bottom left of the LCD display of the S2.

After logging in to 192.168.1.99 - perform a factory rest.
I guess this is the last question: is that "Reset to defaults" on System->Upgrade tab?..

And if you could.... Take klondike_bar's recommendation!!!  (It does make a big difference & a Time Savor)  Thank you, klondike_bar Smiley

Ouch, you may have a broken off parts from the hashing PCB may be...

If you could, could you unscrew the top case and see what is fallen off from the PCB?

or you can return the miner to the following address with Printed Original Purchase Confirmation Page with the shipping address portion included.  Also, a brief letter describing what's wrong with your miner.  The return address is

Hi everyone,

I have one miner that has something rattling inside of it. Right from box open, it has been like that. Also, I cannot login into the 192.168.1.99 IP. The fans turn on when the power supply is connected, but absolutely no lights blink when I plug the ethernet cable from the miner to a router or computer. Ideas?
734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 28, 2014, 12:42:29 PM
Programmers are currently working on firmware revisions.  Any issues with the firmware, if you could, please include the screen shot and may be the error log and PM.  Thank you!

Its saying NO but things can change any moment.  Its a wild wild BTC world.  Happy Hashing!

Tough question... Would say.... start plan for the S3+ unit...   Cry  sorry  or may be miracle would happen but S3+ be the best bet!

Does anyone know if Bitmain will sell the S1 upgrade kits again? I'm very happy with the couple I purchased and would like more.
There is something strange, you service the Bitmain warranty yet you do not know that Bitmain expressly said in these pages that the S1 upgrade kit has been discontinued ..... anyway, there you have it.

+1-844-248-6246  or 844-BIT-MAIN  Option 2 or 0

Hi there, the right side on my controller does not works, neither the right blade.
I not bought from the factory, instead ebay and probably one of the first batches.
Was working fine since July and this last sunday all of a sudden the right blade fail.
Tested both using another S3 that is working, left side and left blade are good.
Any chance Bitmain sell controllers and blades as a part?
Or simply better to buy another?

I connect other control board (from working S3), but result is the same. What can it be? Blades are not tested yet.

And what does Red light saying about?

740  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Repair a fried Antminer S4 beaglebone card on: October 27, 2014, 08:27:14 PM
Currently, the direct warranty is provided to the customers who purchased the miner direct from http://www.bitmaintech.com , http://www.bitmain.com , http://www.bitmain.us

The warranty is valid for the original purchaser only and it does not transfer to the second hand owner.  The original 90-days warranty is valid while the 2nd hand or even the 3rd hand owner continue to own the miner, however, the warranty has to be serviced by the person/business reselling the miners.  (Meaning, non-direct purchaser has to contact the person/business who bought it from to deal with the warranty service)

OP stated in the POST#1 that OP purchased the miner from other than the URL managed by Bitmain.

ASIC Miner Company and other manufactures provide the very similar warranty service and this seems to be the norm of the industry at this time.  After Sale Service is being improved at this time and accepting any opinions, suggestions and comments, please PM.

Hope this clarify.

Before i start I want to give out thanks:
1) I want to thank cryptocrane.com for quick delivery and being stand up and helping with the Antminer problems-- super cool

Thanks guys for the support, here is the email they sent me when I was asking for help...
