@SlavaGrove,

Trying to prove the globe is why there are so many flat earthers today, there is no proof the Earth is a sphere or that it moves.

@BADecker,

You're the one with a cognitive deficit, you have no fucking clue how optics works. Go hang yourself.

So that's how it works huh, simply tell someone that he has no clue about how optics work, well then, notbatman you have no fucking clue how optics work, did I win the argument now? You literally think no one except, 2 or 3 scientists who support your idiotic claims have any idea about optics, science, etc?

^^^ Actually, the moral code written in the Koran and Hadiths has no place in the world now, or ever in the past. It was something perpetrated by Satan to destroy the work of the real God. The god of Islam is Satan.

Cool

Well, god himself killed a ton of people, satan? Not so many, it almost seems like Satan is better than a God who creates people to simply wipe them out eventually, knowing beforehand he would do so, pointless, an all powerful and knowing being would simply not do that, it's illogical.
723  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: May 13, 2019, 08:57:10 PM

Things are true or false without me choosing them.

I think that's something religious people cannot understand, the fact that you cannot choose to believe in god or anything for that matter, when you believe in something is because you are convinced of it for some reason but if you don't, you simply cannot force yourself to believe in it just like you can't force yourself to be gay if you are not.

...Human reasons can indeed only take you so far. Beyond that it is a matter of faith. Not everyone is capable of faith. ...

Where faith begins, human reason stops.

Some people are always in control of their reason, others let go of it and become religious.

Faith can be easily proven to be garbage. Take 100 different religious or believers in anything mystical/supernatural. They will all claim they have faith in their specific gods, etc and yet not all of them can be right, most of them claim their god is the one and only and yet some of them have to be wrong even if one god is real but they all have faith, clearly faith is not a good path to the truth.

^^^ So what you're saying is that I have failed to provide evidence in the form of YouTube videos that objects can't be seen when they're too small to be seen. Thank you for your insightful analysis of my statement regarding convergence Bozo the fucking clown.

"With 4K monitors becoming more and more affordable, it appears that the long-standing reign of 1080p may finally be coming to a close. The question is: can the human eye actually see the difference with a 4K monitor or are manufacturers just using the hype to sell you a more expensive product? ..."

Thousands of videos of boats disappearing bottom first and the camera zooming in and the bottom is still hidden just as much. Being to small to be seen =/= disappearing bottom first while shrinking. I think you are confused mate.
725  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bits-Pays.com Launched [150% for advertisers, Free Miner Game,Company shares] on: May 13, 2019, 08:53:03 PM
Bitspay's sequrity is bad. They run after your internet ip rather than you PC.For instance in my home there are four laptops mine and my brother's and a wifi, by the time I came across bitspays I told my brothers to join the site as my referrals but when they join the site all bitspays think is I cheated because bitspays uses your internet ip to track you rather than your laptop.According to bitspays for me and my brothers to use the site we have to have four diffrent internet connection which is unaffordable and restricts bitspay's number of users. But instead if they  track your pc we all can use the site and cheaters wouldn't be a problem like adbtc. Since that is not how bitspays operate, when family joins the site through the same internet connection they block your account. This way bitspays is pushing hard working users away and restricting number of users just because you are on the same internet connection, can you imagin facebook ,youtube and other sites operating like bitspay. Its like my brother can't have facebook account just because he is on the same internet connection as I am.I am still so frustrated for losing my old facebook account over bitspays just to get blocked on bitspay the next day

Oldest excuse in the books. Scammers use the same excuse when they get caught on Bitcointalk using multiple accounts to join campaigns/bounties. It's like that for many, many websites, they will only allow 1 IP and it's quite easy to understand why, otherwise if you have 10 laptops, you could just have 9 refs on yourself and get a ton of free money on many websites.

727  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: May 13, 2019, 05:22:34 PM
I believe no religion actually preaches hate or has hatred or killings in his holy books but just that some religion and your case sample have a lot of extremist and fanatic, who want to comply everyone to their religion. I have quite meant a few Muslims who showed me love beyond my imagination and they will let you know thats what the holy book preached. But i also think its two various sects in Islam that raises the eye bras

Actually the bible and the quran both literally tell you to kill people, it's literally written in both books, clearly with no interpretation or anything, in fact both gods from both books killed people, god himself got rid of 99.999% of earth's population with the flood.

^^^ You forgot already? God gives what people ask of Him.

Be happy that God understands that you don't understand. He is being merciful with you, and patiently hoping you will turn away from asking for death.

I mean, how much more slapping in the face will He take from you? How much more disrespect? What's extremely interesting is that God is way more sensitive than you or I. But he still puts up with your disrespect, even though it cuts Him to the quick.

You should love Him for this.

Cool

So why hasn't he killed me yet? If im asking for it, he should have killed me already just like he did with those millions of people, why is he suddenly not killing everyone like he used to? Where is the logic here, I see none, you argue that god killed everyone because they asked for it and you tell me I'm asking for it and yet god doesn't kill me, perhaps he is scared of me or something?

^^^ Fucking horizon distance calculator motherfucker!

http://www.ringbell.co.uk/info/hdist.htm

Eye/camera height matters (for perspective on plain), and is accounted for in the calculator. You globohomos are just trying to create confusion, you've got no valid arguments left.

Objects vanish when they are so far away that they are smaller than the smallest object the eye can see. This is called the vanishing point and it forms a horizon line for all objects on the plain past that point at the center of your vertical field of view. When eye elevation changes the apparent height of objects in the distance changes. The increased apparent vertical size, from the greater viewing angle, allows more objects that would be too small to see at lower elevations to become visible thus extending the horizon and the distance that objects can be seen.

Since objects are being viewed through a medium (air with water vapor & droplets) that has a non-linear density gradient, the distortions and lensing effects it creates via refraction need to be accounted for on top of, those caused by perspective and convergence.

''Objects vanish when they are so far away that they are smaller than the smallest object the eye can see.'' And yet you have failed to provide any kind of evidence for this, you keep claiming you can ''zoom in'' boats back into view but there are no videos of it, only videos of boats disappearing bottom half first, I wonder why....
731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: May 13, 2019, 05:15:56 PM

Materialism is an assumption. It is a chosen framework to understand the universe.

I hold it to be a very flawed very problematic framework with multiple consequences....
....
...
Our reality is material, whether you like it or not.  If it was not, I would not be a materialist.
...

Ok af_newbie you have clearly made your choice.

I have done my best to clarify our differences reduce them to their most basic divergence in thought. I appear to have failed in shifting your position in the slightest. It is time now for me to disengage as I have nothing further to add. I wish you well.

The Big Decision about Life...
http://charltonteaching.blogspot.com/2017/10/the-big-decision-about-life.html?m=1
Quote from: Bruce Charlton
...Is a metaphysical one - not a matter of 'evidence'. And that insight (metaphysics not evidence) is the first step.

The situation is that Life is a mixed-picture: the decision is whether Life is validated by its best moments or times; or destroyed by its worst.

As I said, evidence does not help - the question is not quantitative. This is a matter of primary assumption.

And the question is not answerable in isolation - Life can only be validated if Life has 'meaning'; and the nature of validation depends on the nature of that meaning.

On the other hand, if you have already accepted that life has no meaning - is merely determined, or random - then you have already made your Big Decision. (Whether implicitly or explicitly) your basic assumptions ensure that for you Life is defined by its worst aspects - indeed the single, most extreme worst-of-Life is the truth-of-Life (both for individuals, and en masse).

Nothing can be done for you - because any possible Good will be negated by One Bad Thing - even when that Bad is merely the evanescence of Good.

On the other hand; if you understand, and live-by, the conviction that the best of Life is the truth of life (despite that this cannot be continuous) - then you have indomitable strength, assurance, and hope.

You clearly do not understand my position.  I do not have a choice.

My brain does not allow me to accept things that cannot be validated by science.  My epistemology is based on that.

The things that science cannot explain, I am ok with simply not knowing.

You think I have made this choice but I am telling you I do not make choices to know what is true and what is not.

Things are true or false without me choosing them.

You have a choice, actually infinite number of them, you are limited only by your imagination, I, on the other hand, am confined to what science can discover and validate.

In a way, I envy you, you are an ignorant simpleton who is only limited by his imagination.

I wish I was dumber, life would have been a lot simpler.  Instead, I see a very complex world and I am sad that other people are dumb as rocks.  Where is the natural selection when you need her?

I think that's something religious people cannot understand, the fact that you cannot choose to believe in god or anything for that matter, when you believe in something is because you are convinced of it for some reason but if you don't, you simply cannot force yourself to believe in it just like you can't force yourself to be gay if you are not.

^^^ You didn't receive the command to not eat the fruit, did you? In fact, God never even told you which fruit it is, did He? So you are going to die for some other reason. Here's what the reason is:

People are similar enough now to what they were then. So, it's easy to know what they thought back then. All we need do is find out what they think now.

Since now-people don't have enough faith in God to cry out to Him for salvation, they will die, just like those others who partook of the corrupted genetics of Adam and Eve, after it was corrupted by whatever chemicals the fruit had in it.

You partake of the genetics, and you don't even acknowledge God. So why should He save you? You are just like those people of long ago... except that you are a bit dumber.

Cool

So why didn't he kill more people then? Aren't we just as bad as those ones he killed with the flood? Why didn't he get rid of more people? Why did he only kill those people and not more afterwards? I mean, he didn't come back yet so it means we are just as bad, right?

Well, we might have but you never actually provided any solid evidence that ''outside the universe'' is real because there is none, in fact you never even defined what ''outside the universe'' would even be, it's a very abstract concept anyways because, why is it ''outside'', it's not like the universe is a thing, it's just what that we call it universe but it's literally everything that exists.

^^^ And Jesus's biggest, first instruction for us is to spread the Gospel. Now all we have to do is figure out if spreading the Gospel is a religious activity.

Cool

And God's biggest action was to wipe out the whole world except a few people, that isn't very helpful when you are trying to spread the Gospel, is it? Perhaps Jesus and God are angry and each other and they do opposite things.

You keep saying this. Don't you realize that people aren't strong enough to wipe themselves out and yet remain alive?

People asked for destruction by eating the fruit, and then by acting against everything that was good and right. When their request for destruction overcame their request for life strongly enough, God simply gave them what they asked for... just like God gives us everything we have.

If God hadn't given them what they asked for, you would complain that God wasn't the giving God He says He is.

They were a warning for you, those people were. Do you really want destruction that badly? that you keep on asking for it like those people did?

Jesus is the way that God made so we can ask for both, destruction and life... mostly because we don't have as big a choice either direction as those pre-Flood people did. However, just to please you, God set standard life limits to less than 120 years, generally. He did this so that you know by example of all people that you only have so much time to make your life request stronger than your destruction request.

Turn while you have time.

Cool

Well I certainly didn't. I didn't eat the fruit myself now, did I?

''If God hadn't given them what they asked for, you would complain that God wasn't the giving God He says He is.'' WOW IT'S AMAZING, NOT ONLY YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST WITH 100% CERTAINTY BUT YOU ARE ALSO ABLE TO KNOW WHAT PEOPLE FROM THE PAST WERE THINKING, IMPRESSIVE. Are you a god yourself or why do you keep claiming that people ''asked'' for it?
737  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: May 12, 2019, 07:38:19 PM
The distance to the horizon proves the Earth is flat, and it's something anybody with a good zoom lens (Nikon P900) can confirm for themselves.

Refraction can't account for a horizon that's 15+ miles out for somebody standing at sea level. Choose a cool, dry, clear day with almost zero refraction and you've got nothing to say but that the Earth is flat.

How do you know it can't account for it if you don't have the necessary scientific studies to understand it? Anybody can do it and yet you haven't, you literally haven't tested anything of what you claim and you still claim it like it's 100% a fact, you are clearly paid troll from some organization to spread lies.

The level of porn addiction in the society today is at an alarming stage and this is effecting our morality in all reunification because how can a brother be having sex with his own sister or father doing daughter that is insanity of the highest order. We have to really work on our sense of reasoning and avoid acts that will provoke our creator.

Prove it, how is the ''addiction'' to porn at any alarming stage and how is it affecting our morality? Are you arguing we have less morals now than 100 years ago when we used to kill gays, torture people, execute people in front of the town, etc?
739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: May 12, 2019, 07:35:15 PM

What was the life expectancy in the US 100 years ago?  50 years ago?  25 years ago?
Was the US more Christian 100, 50 or 25 years ago?

The proper way to analyze this is to isolate the effect of religion independently of technological progress.

At each interval of history one should compare the life expectancy of Christians compared to non Christians.

If you do that you find that Christians live longer. This is true today.

Religious people live four YEARS longer than those who don’t believe in God, study reveals
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/science/religious-people-live-four-years-12704829.amp

It also appears to likely have been true as far back as early Roman times when Christian charity led to increased life expectancy social power and eventual cultural victory over the Pagans.

The Christian Conquest of Pagan Rome

Who is against stem cell research?  You know, the technology that can save and extend lives.

Most if not all of current stem cell therapy is a scam. It’s an utterly unproven cash pay business that thrives on the vulnerable and desperate.

Much of what little research there is has been shown to be fraudulent a example of the corruption of science in our time.

Stem Cell Research—Shattered After Fabrication Scandal
https://www.tctmd.com/news/stem-cell-research-shattered-after-fabrication-scandal-needs-rebuild-says-ehj-editor

That said Christians are generally opposed to embryonic stem cell research as those lines were derived from aborted fetal tissue. Christians by and large don’t believe it is moral to experiment with the remains of killed human life.

Healthy, stress-free life, with lots of social life, is not the domain of Christians or religious people.  I would argue that being religious adds more stress to your life as you have to worry about what your God will think, every second of your life, you have to constantly think: "Would I make it into heaven or would I end up in hell?"  Atheists do not have this issue.

When you know you have one life to live, you take care of your body, your mind, your relationship with others because you know after you die there is no second chance.  You, on the other hand, think that afterlife is what matters, this life is only temporary, 120 years at most vs the eternity.  So rape here or there, abuse of your wife or your body, kill few men here or there is all ok, as long as you accept Jesus as your savior before you die, LOL

You have this very very wrong. Every major study on the issue shows a health advantage for the observant religious. Here are a few I highlighted in the Health and Religion thread.

In U.S., Very Religious Have Higher Wellbeing Across All Faiths
http://www.gallup.com/poll/152732/religious-higher-wellbeing-across-faiths.aspx

Married Couples Who Attend Church Services Together Are Less Likely to Divorce
http://www.christianpost.com/news/married-couples-who-attend-church-services-together-are-less-likely-to-divorce-study-171853/

Religious upbringing may be protective factor for health, well-being in early adulthood
https://www.forbes.com/sites/alicegwalton/2018/09/17/raising-kids-with-religion-or-spirituality-may-protect-their-mental-health-study/#68c6ba2c3287

Now, who has a more healthy outlook on our life on this planet?

Easy Christians do. Next question.

PS. What is the global population growth rate?  Should it be increasing at 4 or 5% as is the case in communities of most orthodox religions?

Global population growth rate is somewhere around 1%. It peaked long ago and is declining towards zero no outside intervention required.

The religious communities won’t grow at 4 to 5% forever. It’s just the process of the unhealthy segments of society being replaced by healthier variants. Overall the growth trajectory of the society at large is unlikely to change.

PPS.  On average, are Christian or Atheists more educated?  Who do you think would make a better manager, better policymaker, better scientist, better engineer, better doctor?

Atheists are for the moment more formally educated on average.

As for who would make a better manager, better policymaker, better scientist, better engineer, or better doctor. I would have go with the educated Christian or Jew. Best of both worlds.

I recommend putting some more work into understanding these issues af_newbie. I don’t have the time or inclination to continue tutoring like this. You need to rectify your own deficiencies.

Of course religious people live longer or have less stress, after all they believe they are going to be saved or immortal. Any delusional person that believes he is immortal or something similar will be ''happier'' and have less stress but that doesn't mean it's good for him, you would agree that someone who thinks is superman needs help, right? Similarly someone who believes in god, also needs psychological help just like transsexuals as you argued.
