i think he abuses the trust system,

False AFAIK.

because quickseller states in his neg-trust that op is impersonating another one

True.

AND will scam

False. Where is that part?

Quote
Quickseller 4: -0 / +16(16) - 2015-03-15 - Not the real ACCTseller

the second part is implicit by selecting the neg-trust instead of comment
(as written in my post, but you failed to quote that part)

copied from the btct-page:

Positive - You trust this person or had a successful trade.
Neutral - Comments. Your rating will not affect this person's trust score.
Negative - You were scammed or you strongly believe that this person is a scammer.

well, if you convince me i'll remove that comment.

but Quickseller is not in my trust list (i removed him a while ago) because i really thinks he is way to fast with a scam accusation - so they are just useless to me. that's just the first time i thought it might be necessary to point it out because IMHO it has gone to far.

(btw i dont think Quickseller will scam. i just dont share his opinion about this matter; hence comment as trust abuser)
722  Other / Meta / Re: My account was neg trusted by Tomatocage for no good reason. on: March 16, 2015, 12:16:25 PM
"The person is a scammer or i think he will scam"
^ thats the reason when you give neg-trust...

that doesnt sound like a warning to me.

i've added a comment on quicksellers account...THAT is a warning... neg-trust is saying "he will scam"

"He will scam". Roll Eyes Cheesy

I don't think your feedback says that:

Quote
onemorexmr 0: -0 / +0(0) - 2015-03-1 - abuses trust system. please check references from people who get neg-rated by him very carefully and decide for yourself.

IMHO ACCTseller and AccountSller are very easy too differentiate on first sight.

impersonating an username works if they look similar on first sight. as ACCTseller has uppercases in front (which is unusual - means more people will remember it) they are easy to differentiate.

People usually only see one name when doing business with someone and not all names that look somewhat similar. Thus someone might vaguely remember AccountSeller or ACCSElller or ACCTsElleR or something along those lines to be trustworthy. Now someone with a very similar "sounding"/looking name comes along and might be considered trustworthy because they are confused with someone else.

Yes, you should check that when doing deals.
No, not everyone does so.
Yes, its perfectly fine for someone from DefaultTrust to add a warning. It should not stop anyone from doing business with said Account, but will make sure there is no confusion. I have traded with accounts that had a warning attached in the past and never had problems.

-snip-
Numbers and red letters don't mean anything, what matters is the content of the feedback itself. The source it comes from, the reason, and the backing.

"The person is a scammer or i think he will scam"

724  Other / Meta / Re: My account was neg trusted by Tomatocage for no good reason. on: March 16, 2015, 06:11:57 AM
My negative trust has to do with the fact that his name is very similar to another account seller who has been around for a while without major incidents (and as a result people would potentially trust enough to send bitcoin first to him).

I think it is fair to say that his username is closely sounding enough to ACCTseller that someone could potentially mistake him for it.

IMHO ACCTseller and AccountSller are very easy too differentiate on first sight.

Since you are a newbie it would be best to use escrow anyway, even without the negative. So if you use escrow then there should be no problems with you having a negative from me (assuming of course your intentions are good).

lol... if you think what you write is true please tell theymos that we should neg-rate all newbies...

seriously...i know here are much scams. i hate scammers...

but neg rating newbies just because of that name (as stated.. the only possible accounts which could be impersonated are newbies too) is just abusing the trust system.

btw.. your negrating has nothing to do with the fact that he is trying to sell accounts like you do?  Roll Eyes
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: March 16, 2015, 05:33:05 AM
But some people arguing here do want a permanent 1 MB block.

Which ones?

I don't remember names, and honestly I won't go dig through >130 pages of mostly garbage.

You made the claim, now back it up with evidence.

Or STFU, and stop making strawman arguments.

Come on smart guy, where is the list of those who want a permanent 1MB block?

Are they the same people who are mostly altcoin/Monero shills?   Cheesy

for some people their is only black or white....esp the ones who doesnt read the whole thread and think the first line of a post answers all questions Wink

(well....i am gulty of not reading all threads on btct too)
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 16, 2015, 04:39:19 AM
The market is crazy right now. 2k coins back to 0.0024 and someone is still market buying everything up to 0.0029. That's an insane spread.

a few hours ago we had a 100btc buy wall... maybe he got a little impatient Wink
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: March 15, 2015, 10:37:56 PM

I'd think it would be wise to get some sort of p2p pool going with smart mining. The chances of finding a block solo with a small hash rate are such that people may be tempted not to bother.

The whole point of smart mining is that it isn't something people bother with at all. It just happens, and it is unobtrusive enough there is no reason for people to turn it off. It's just part of how the software works, like nearly every p2p system in existence with the exception of bitcoin.

Pool or no pool, a single computer will yield next to nothing and there is no reason for people, individually, to bother. This is not about "being a miner" it is about people who aren't miners doing mining.
[/quote]

@smooth i think you are right about that everybody should mine and if that would be the case they wouldn't / shouldn't really care.

neverthless i hope for a p2pool implementation (best would be directly inside reference client) as i have the hope that it could lead to more and smaller poolers.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocoins-Dice.com - Looks like another crypto rip off scam. on: March 15, 2015, 02:33:42 AM
Bobbax's phone number, which I promised to keep private (but obviously I do not feel tied by this promise anymore) is  0622150740. This is a French mobile number. Due to Charlie Hebdo events, police doesn't record complaint after 8 PM and today I had a general meeting (unrelated to crypto). Today, Il go back to the police station to see if I can register a complaint (it will be hard to explain, though). And if they are closed to the public on Sunday, I'll try again on Monday.

For the sake of completeness, I'll publich what I replied to [Suspicious link removed] in a recent PM:

Quote
I talked with him on the phone (French mobile phone) on several occasions and for hours, including for debugging the site - accent was clearly French, not Belgian, Swiss or Quebec or Africa or foreigner. We also agreed to meet. First the 7th, then I had to postone to the 30th at the last minute because the places I wanted to show him were closed on week-end.

He basically abused me and since I put my reputation on this, you can imagine I feel very bad.

Everybody can make a mistake - even if it is real bad one (I have deleted the HR-Database from a real big (Top 5) executive consultant / accountant company in germany once - learning they don't have backups).

Thank you for your apology. Learn from it!

regards

731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attack: if I change the genesis block. on: March 14, 2015, 12:41:04 PM
suppose ...

You can't do this on 6400 nodes (full nodes !) in less than 2 minutes.
Danny explained nicely what would happen. Something like this can't be done.
On the other hand, only 6400 full nodes is a bit worrisome. I find this quite low. Where did you pull this number from?

https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/
6484 nodes...

i have one running... do you?
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 14, 2015, 02:38:48 AM
it's just a pump/dump game.

if it would be only a pump and dump game i could accept it (not like it though).

but IMHO they are deceiving people by making claims.
eg
 - anonymity
 - latest claim by eduffield "i have solved the blocksize problem with Masternodes"

and what still irritates me the most is that the drk-community accepts that eduffield has a privatekey which allows him to make settings (like enforcing on/off) on the fly (and the only argument i heard from drklers was: its OSS, you can just remove it.. WTF?Huh?)

and i still see no other "endgame" for them other to go full pos. only 20% for the blockreward(+fees) are for the miners. the rest is for running a node with 1000DRK colleteral (=Masternode) - who do they think will secure their network? and why 80% reward  for hosting a node?

sorry for the rant Wink
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: March 14, 2015, 12:11:31 AM

danielpbarron: I guess I care more about it being accepted by MPEx than I care about the blocksize
danielpbarron: that is, if MP says the blocksize needs to go up, then up it shall go!

no comment needed...

what have you done for bitcoin if i may ask?

 - german translation of bitcoin-qt
 - ui for bithopper
 - ui for p2pool

its not much, but i dont attack people who have proven interest in bitcoin (well expect mp once, but i apologized)

edit:
yes paymium is for-profit organization. but it was opened as bitcoin needed such a thing! and i have used it as it was the first which has a cooperation with a bank (davout: please correct me if am wrong on the last point... not sure anymore...such a long time...)

edit: (sorry for this... too much edits.. i am a little drunk)
bithopper: i joined this project because i wanted to make bitcoin miners aware of pool hopping (i did state this on my old flower1024 account publicy before joining the bithopper project - i am just to lazy to search for that post.) and why pool hopping this is a bad think. i think i am part of the reason that there are no more proportional-pools. and i am a little proud of it.

Unlike MP, you, and the rest of the three idiots, Gavin has the platform of Reddit, MIT, and all the news media outlet. You're relegated to this little room with me, and I will constantly remind everyone what a fucking moron you are.

A paid shill like you will have to share room with a paid troll like me  Grin

what have you done for bitcoin if i may ask?

davout has done many things (eg paymium, staff on this forum) and i value his opinion even if i dont share it.

never forget rule number one: think for yourself.

Exactly, nobody's got a gun to my head.  That's why I'm just laying down facts without hate.

no hate here too... i just think bitshares is stupid  Grin
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this genuis or stupid? on: March 13, 2015, 03:20:04 PM

Love or hate

Which pill will you choose to take?

one thing to remember: bitshares is a chain where marketing folks calls themselves a miners...
so be careful if you read long and wellwritten post... its like a builtin shill-support Wink

never forget rule number one: think for yourself.
738  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is someone monitoring large parts of the network? (evidence+firwall rules) on: March 13, 2015, 02:57:09 PM
the question is what you use the data for...i have no doubt that your intentions are honest btw.

Here's your answer as to what the data was used for:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=978088.msg10756505#msg10756505

I don't have an issue with people not trusting me, is not that what the world has come to? Wink I just repeat that the only reason I did nmap on that host was because I found some of the same ip's; 46.105.210.194, 46.105.210.11, 46.105.210.255, 46.105.210.138, 46.105.210.196, 46.105.210.246, 46.105.210.220, 46.105.210.204, 46.105.210.179, 46.105.210.189, 46.105.210.10, 46.105.210.42 in the debug.log of my bitcoind, upon reading OP I did the investigation as you can see in the link above. The intention was to find out what & who was behind the monitoring on the network. If you want to label me, then give me the whitehat label please, I really have no further to add to this particular question. Smiley

sorry (blame my english) i did not question your intention (i already knew it). it was more in the line of "its the question what the guy nmapping other people has for intentions"

IMHO: it is easy to use iptables and a small script to autoblock anyone who is nmapping... so i just dont understand people yelling when someone does it.

btw "I don't have an issue with people not trusting me, is not that what the world has come to?"
sadly...yes...
739  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is someone monitoring large parts of the network? (evidence+firwall rules) on: March 13, 2015, 02:41:52 PM

Dear primer-,

I run a node for altruistic purposes, to support the network. Here's the stats and info page: http://node.cryptowatch.com/

You can connect with any node you want to that node, and you will see there's no portscanning on your node conducted by my node.

Nmap (nmap.org) is a program that can be used manually to scan any host for open ports. When I read this thread, naturally I wanted to see if I could do some simple investigation to learn more of the nature of the party monitoring large parts of the network. As it happened, I found some public available information and shared it with the community, see my earlier posts.

My intentions are good, as I'm a big bitcoin supporter.

I hope this cleared things up. Thanks for the question.

imho nmapping anyone is not a problem - its like knocking on doors.
and i think i am allowed to knock on the doors of someone who enters m house (=connected to my node)

the question is what you use the data for...i have no doubt that your intentions are honest btw.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this genuis or stupid? on: March 13, 2015, 02:08:15 PM
Thanks to everyone for contributing.

btw i think BitShares is stupid. i mined some PTS in the early days (at start) but sold them a few days later and have never regretted it.

If you think its stupid, then why do you think it is stupid?  And are you basing it off its current form or something that happened a year ago?

its POS (or a variant): enough said Wink
and i think most (nearly all) alts are scams (and most of its users gets deceived by scammy groups)

please remind: its an IMHO and everybody should make up his own mind.
