dude friedcat is the man, every time I see him update us I grow more faith in asicminer, he seems like one of the greatest bitcoin economy ceo's.  I am sure we will see allot of bad ones in other companies that will try and destroy bitcoin because of greed, I think friedcat may be the guy that saves the bitcoin world.  Thanks for all the work you do friedcat!

the more you give more you get  Cool

Guys don't forget to tip Xiangfu for his great work Smiley

Good call.  Tip sent.

I've been using his build-avalon-image.sh script to build my own firmware images for WR703Ns with support for the various FPGA miners enabled.

I've been using them to mine on Bitforce FPGA Singles, CM1s, and Ztex 1.15y boards.  Unfortunately the Ztex bitstreams can't fit into the 4MB flash memory, so I've been loading them into RAM in /tmp after each reboot.  I plan to try a usb-storage solution for that later.

I can post my builds if anyone's interested.

My 703n still running very old cgminer, if your build is ready for Icarus Im interested! Thanks.

So are these just the developer orders ahead of the trade-ins? It doesn't look like it.

I think because the price is so much higher and the likelihood of getting ROI is so much lower for the regular Batch #2 orders, they are going back on their promise of doing the trade-ins first. This is not honoring their word, but is probably more "fair".

The whole premise of trading in the Icarus was based on the idea we'd get the Avalons soon after sending in the Icarus, though. Not that I'm too upset, it seems like the guys that paid upwards of 50-60 BTC on February 2nd (Batch #2 part 1) and 16th (part 2) do deserve to have theirs shipped first (hell, even I have some orders in that timeframe as well), but again, at the time I ordered I was under the impression that I was doing a trade-in order whereby the details would be worked out afterward, so now I still have little to no idea what is going on or how "special" I actually am. Smiley

I do know that I am missing a few BTC that my Icarus weren't able to mine the last three weeks or so since they were in operation, however. I have to imagine there are some guys who did 0 Batch #2 regular orders but sent in 10-15 Icarus that are going to be quite upset about this. My condolences in advance to those in such a predicament.

Doesn't seem like there's a way they can both honor their word to the trade-ins and remain fair to those early batch #2 orders here, and they sided on the "being fair" end. I don't fault them, I just wish they had communicated this to the community first.

Yifu, stated that tradein and regular orders have separate queues, so, in my understanding, the priority handling means tradein will be shipping at the same time as regular costumers. Like in parallel lines. If this is the case, its fair and honors the old costumers without screwing with the new ones, but in this scenario only the lucky ones from the random pick for the 20 units can be considered special.

Anyone tried this with the original Icarus?

Tried what?

Sorry, hashvoodoo firmware, can I flash one original Icarus with it?

They were mining with some, they told this before.
733  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Mining rig under 1BTC on: May 16, 2013, 06:33:16 AM
How much you would pay for a FPGA that makes 380mhash?
734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 16, 2013, 02:56:54 AM
Yifu your google phone mailbox is full, just saying.

edit: Alright, no surprises: 20 units are out, testing the new shipping techniques to avoid damage on packages, expect to hear the next news from San Francisco, trade ins are a in differente queue, they are still working on production line but, whatever that means, they will get priority handling. Soon costumers will be asked to pay.

The machines are lightning fast but, god, they know how to create a delay. Godspeed in this last mile.

Trade-Ins. Avalon believes in continuing the trust that have build up with our old customers. Reinstating our policy of $300 per Icarus, $400 per Lancelot, limited one FPGA trade-in per ASIC unit. The trade-in program will continue to be available and will apply to 1st-gen Avalons when the time comes.

so i think/hope batch2-price

Yes this is correct, we uphold our words. expect a news letter soon with details.

I ordered and paid early on Feb 2. I've even received confirmation from WalletBit about the order, but nothing from the two tickets opened up with Avalon and still no orders showing in the store.

I am happy others are going to see their orders soon. It would just be nice if Avalon could follow through with any of their communications in the past. I have no idea what to expect right now regarding my order.

I sent Yifu an email inquiring about this.  He stated orders would ship in order to when payment was received so orders placed on Feb 2nd should ship first and then so on and so forth.  Things seem to be moving so lets just see what happens.  Contact him or open a ticket today asking about this.   Who knows how many tickets they have from before, it could be lost in the shuffle.

would you please PM me with Yifu email? thanks.
