721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can't add GPU's to B250? on: May 14, 2018, 12:37:06 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need 1 PCI express line per  GPU (hence only PCI-e X1 being used for mining) so you also have to look for CPU with correct amount of lines?  So for example Intel Celeron G3930 would  be a no go.

I believe the these B250 based mining motherboards provide lanes from chipset rather than CPU.

@yrk1957 I think its not that case.

that's 16 lanes from the CPU.... where's the issue?   the mining boards just have custom bios's, and less extra hardware like audio, extra SATA/IDE controllers, etc.  Nothing super fancy past that for PCIE;  its all the CPU.

G3930 has 16 lanes, just like my I3-6100 and I3-7100....

--but none of the real questions asked previously will be answered......
We have not started selling so far. We do not even know the exact price. Do you want a guarantee now?..

YES, I was a guarantee of a real product reviewed by a trusted member.
and most of all, I want PROOF of a product as described BEFORE taking or requesting ANY payment; as well as GUARANTEED shipping/receiving terms; even if its no guarantee or promise whatsoever.  at least you would be honest about it.

Just like anyone else out there that is interested, I would want to purchase one: if what you say is true.
Everything else you say means nothing if the product is just a scam or a ruse... because you are simply trying to push a product;  that's not being manufactured yet.... you haven't reached a manufacturing agreement even, you haven't sent any review samples out.... it's all hot air and fancy photos.

Do you understand me now?

Look at the history of miners that have been introduced and marketed the same way you are doing it now.  Now, look at how many of those "miners" are actually retail/purchasable products OR that have existed at one point.....    At most 1 out of 15-20 of them is an actual product now.

Look at how Pandaminer came about and was first introduced to us;  and subsequently, what steps they took.

Take note.  We are watching.  We are willing to purchase if it is worth it.

It may seem like I am being pushy, or harassing you:

What I am really doing is I'm trying to hand you the key to a successful sale;  should the product be legitimate.  I suggest you be extremely transparent from now on.

progress is always good =)

Im still waiting on Nvidia to add support for the current version of VS2017.....   Havent been able to do a simple recompile in over a month now....

How would the URL and difficulty settings look like to run an Bitmain s9 at 13,5TH optimal on zpool?

do not set manual diff.

address would be as per example on zpool.ca mainpage, or use a google search for the example that has been repeated here a million times over.

Just look on the zpool.ca main page, on the left under the heading "STRATUM SERVERS"
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][FlexFee™][SegWit] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ on: May 13, 2018, 11:49:14 AM
will it work "ccminer.exe -a x17 c=BTC,mc=XVG" ?
explain what you are trying to do, as there is no mc argument....

and be sure to read the FAQ;  its most likely answered on the zpool.ca homepage or in the faq.

you only pick your payout coin, and what ALGO you mine.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What Mining software do i use? (Background, PC remains usable, Monero) on: May 13, 2018, 06:54:40 AM
XMrig-STAK

you can edit the amd/nvidia.txt as per instructions/docs; you can maintain perfect usability....

also, check the batch link in my sig.   follow the "second batch thread" link.... you will find right there a visual basic script that will start the process in the background like a system process.   there's notes, and its simple as can be with easy deployment.  Be sure you have admin rights as notes specify.... I ythink I called it "JK's silent miner launcher"

put whatever you want in the background.

no charge on my scripts BTW; They are provided not for profit.  just dont sell them or use them for profit in a shady way is all i ask Wink

728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is there an advantage to using a static difficulty? on: May 12, 2018, 11:49:35 PM
internet bandwidth, if you are on 4g and limited, random or low difficulty can be costly.

simplest and best answer.

manual diff is basically your way of saying my machine should be calculating this fast, so always get a workunit this size.  This is really only beneficial if there is significant delay to the stratum server, or if you get disconnected frequently and need to "ramp back up" to the proper diff.

Here is how I understand it. I might be simplifying it.

Let's say you were trying to empty a pool with a bucket of water and each time you filled the bucket with a random amount of water. Sometimes too little and it was too easy for you to lift so you were using more energy lifting the bucket than lifting the water in the bucket. Sometimes too much water, still not too much for the bucket, but almost too much for you to lift that you struggled sooo much that you might have been able to lift 1/2 as much 2 times or 3 times in the same amount of time... get it...? So static diff allows you to set the amount of water just right for your rig. I've spoken to a few pool operators and they have all told me to set it per the total hash rate of the rig that the mining software reports, not the pool. It won't flatten your hash rate on the pool, but your average hash rate should be higher.

Downside of the work being too easy is that you spend more time sending results and receiving work than doing work, or at least your work to send/receive time is lower.

Downside of the work being to hard is that you might not finish the work before the round is over and the network moves on to the next block. This can not be avoided 100%, but it can be reduced.

Good analogy =)  Too high of a diff can bite, but too low of a diff could cost you in overall hashrate due to constant low diff spam.  Some stratums will cap your calced hashrate based on the excessive low diff shares; or flat out disconnect/blacklist you for share spam.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 12, 2018, 11:41:14 PM
The ironic thing is that these forks will actually drive companies like bitmain to make the miners and never sell them to the public, thus causing real centralization.  Most of the people who complain are those who spent a lot on GPUs and refuse to adapt to the future.

Bingo! You speak the truth brother.

here's the rub;  if the average joe miner wont make a profit;  it will be down to the major manufacturers only;  thus driving the value down.  IF they are the only ones mining and selling the vast majority;  well... they could hold out for an epic dump in the future... but I doubt companies like BMT can work in such a way.
notice how mineable coins always raise in value up until asics?  Theres a reason behind this.

Instead;  if they take their heads out of their asses, like SHA256 manufacturers behaved early on;  things would be more similar to the BTC side of things on the mining side with all the newer asics. If they operated in a  forsenCD (transparent) manner about their projects;  they would be trusted more and less of an overall problem.

Theres always room to argue more points further;  but this is the root of what I see that matters most out of the rest of the details.

Again to comment about my re-quote previously:

we need to change the meta.
purely calculating power was the meta in the past.    ASICS are best at calculating and you want to limit their effectiveness.

Don't focus on the calculation side.  focus on changing the meta surrounding the calcs so that the speed of the calculation itself, is less of a concern.

We can also do things like penalties in the blockchain code for 'n' blocks reported by single sources within 'x' time.

Whittle it down small enough, and you end up with only being able to mine a single GPU from a single wallet if you so desired.   Balance 'n' and 'x' based on the current hardware that is known to be available.

Such a simple and elegant solution to large hashrates.

Just think outside the box guys.

Change the meta.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can't add GPU's to B250? on: May 12, 2018, 09:28:35 PM
This is why you shouldnt run Windows as a mining OS. Its a piece of crap. Dont be lazy, run linux and profit.
This is an old quote but worth bringing this note to attention:

The main computer userbase is windows.  There is no denying this....   Thus solutions that fit the most widely accepted and used OS;  tend to be the most sought after by "the masses".

Not saying windows is better;  or anything close.  Most people straight up throw their hands in the air when it comes to linux.

The need for my batch files to launch ccminer are a prime example of people's lack of ability to decipher and assemble a command line argument by running the "xxx.exe --help" command.....  and this is just in windows where its widely accepted for apps to have minimal or no command-line arguments.

Facts of life drive the meta.

But its good you guys have been getting good results.

I'm waiting on acquiring more GPU's for hooking into my D8P board and testing the limits of card count in windows myself on the B250 chipset.

What happened to the coins listed display?  And algo's listed? Just a blank page.
im seeing everything fine;  may be a cache issue....

notice all posts about having the product verified by a trusted member get completely ignored?

Ironically this post will probably be quoted and replied to but none of the real questions asked previously will be answered......
733  Economy / Exchanges / Re: yobit.net is a scam ? on: May 10, 2018, 08:27:14 AM
Binance, Kucoin, cryptopia, bittrex are all solid choices - poloneix, maybe cobinhood for odd new crypto but they do have some high withdraw fees for certain coins. Etherdelta if you can stand the hassle. I used to chase coin on all the exchanges, but it gets old dealing with bad exchanges. All it takes is one burn so might as well avoid the burn. Yobit burned me.
I whole heartedly admit;  everything I have on yobit is a risk... same with what I keep on cryptobridge and others.....  it can happen anywhere.

Their support is less than stellar, and leaves much to be desired.   Real explanations etc. are just not given sometimes.  For instance if you send funds to an offline or bad chain wallet;  they will most likely ignore any support request because there is no point (in their mind) to tell you they can't recover for X reason such as no nodes available, or broken wallet, etc.  People need to know these things.  They must be better defined than simply "Maintenance" for reason the coin is offline.

But I myself will buy and sell some of those coins that are "locked on the exchange".... Ive made quite a bit on things like BUB, and NKA to name just a few.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 10, 2018, 04:13:47 AM
ASICs increase network speed. Increased network speed leads to a more secure network.

they increase network hashrate, not speed.  Nothing but the design of the coin and block time scheme effect the speed of coins generated/transacted.

to increase the network speed; you must remove transport overhead and other associated data.....

Adding a S9 to the BTC network doesn't speed it up at all... it just adds to nethash and block diff requirements....

If there was a way to limit nethash;  then you would be onto something useful in your conceptual goal.

ASICS become paperweights.

If your notion that ASICS are good overall;  you are sorely mistaken IMHO.

And Ill quote my original reply from this thread many pages earlier:

the real fix I can see for this is:
someone needs to come up with a hashrate stabilized way of mining the algo;  how this can be done purely client-side:  we need to brainstorm.

SSL uses timestamps;  maybe we can figure out some sort of deal like this to give an overall hashrate impact on result difficulty requirement.

I.E.  After X hashrate, your diff increases to offset to be a virtual  X hashrate.  This type of scheme, can be made to force out high hashrate devices but mainly pools in general.

*snip*

There are solutions to "anti-asic".  people need to "think 4th dimensionally" and consider the objective not the mathamatics side;  because the math is what the asic is good at.    Make the "meta"; the way of obtaining the result: the anti-asic strategy itself instead of the algo's individual mathematic calculations.

food for thought.

Guys! It was an announcement only. Video and full information will be available within a few days.
Please do not send technical questions to the e-mail! Our sales managers can not answer. This is for sale only. I will answer here whenever possible.

I'll say this, without concrete trusted reviews:  you will see no major sales from most members....   Too many scams in the past Smiley
736  Economy / Exchanges / Re: yobit.net is a scam ? on: May 08, 2018, 11:45:07 PM
does the term "never risk more in someone else's hands than you are able to loose" strike a nerve?

firstly;  there are no details about these magical large amounts that are owed;  DETAILS BAZZLE.  More can be extrapolated from all the solid evidence.  TXID's, addresses sent from and to;  what type of payment (in ETH, there are smart contract forms of payment as an example), what blockheight is the exchanges wallet VS the one you maintain??  These details are important to find out if you make a big mistake, got hacked somehow (very common via telegram, 3rd party sources, etc), or if they are truly being dishonest and outright stealing your funds.

for instance the NKA wallet:  Ive seen people try to send funds into yobit's offline wallet and scream its yobit's fault...... which clearly its not.
Same with VSync coin... they are on their own chain compared to private wallets and other exchanges.

This is the kind of research people don't do... and it bites them in the rump all proper like.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dwarf FPGA – the anti-ASIC on: May 08, 2018, 05:30:14 AM
OP.  I would be willing to review if necessary.  Im sure Phil would be willing to review himself.. and he's the better candidate.

until then, I will remain more skeptical than the above replies are.

People can get around this;  purely flat out random nonces and result ranges.   This is definitely possible.... but imagine a stratum trying to keep all of its clients records in this manner... what its checked and what it hasn't....   if you require the previous 3 nonces results as salts to the 4th nonce;  you are required to do sequential workunits..... and the random card is out the window as an option.

and FYI:  a subpoena on records, wallets, exchanges, etc... let alone the chip order purchase dates, board MFG and RX dates, etc for the XMR units would EASILY show if they were operating in a dishonest manner (selling used as new, etc etc etc).

The pure fact of drop in nethash at the split;  means that YES;  some of their machines were running.   Not beyond the shadow of a doubt;  but its more than circumstantial, as well as enough to go off of to open a lawsuit and obtain said legal documents/records they would have to prove their innocence.  Im not saying they were the ONLY ones with a XMR asic;  but;  Occam's razor.  I dare the imitation pundits to provide a simpler and more logical explanation.... I bet you can't.  If it were merely an issue of people not updating their miner apps;  the nethash would have climbed substantially after the fork to m7.

Sitting there and commenting with mostly denigration is extremely childish, and shows you know little about what you are speaking of... you only see a narrow slice of the big picture.

How does zpool select which coin to mine for an algorithm with multiple coins? Is it always the most profitable one?
you are gonna have to figure out how the yiimp pool code chooses.....   crackfoo knows not the trickery afoot...

neither do I... I just have an idea based on what I have observed.

In the simplest terms;  its complicated.

So I've been trying to select the algorithm for the top coin I see on whattomine.com. Is this not a good idea based on how the coin choosing works?

There are many stratigies talked about in these forums with the bonuses and drawbacks of each.

The pool chooses how to divy out the workunits to miners based upon coins available, nethash of those coins, price currently for sale at the exchange for, price last sold for, hashrate calculated of your miner over x time, and a bunch of other variables.  Stratum does the job for you;  or someone's implementation based upon whatever data they draw from to arrive at a decision what to mine.  depends on the mining package, and it depends on the way you connect to the pool weather stratum or the app picks.

As I said... complicated.  There are many strategies.  I suggest reading through the faq's that are available on the mainpage or discord forum as well as the many discussions searchable on this site.  Reference the yiimp pool code for any questions on the autoexchange process or stratum's decision making, and reference the program creator/source notes for the miner app you are using.
