721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: June 25, 2017, 07:33:08 AM
Just a quick update re. the forthcoming 'White Paper'. We are just completing the last bits on Spectre v.1.3 which will have quite a few updates so the first version of the 'White Paper' will be released in the wake of v.1.3 to incorporate the changes and also outline what comes next.

Sounds very promising, thx for the update!  Smiley

Hey Gandalf (Love your nick),

Where do I store it the, is there any wallet? in which platform ESP based on? (Any thing similar to the ERC20 of Ether?)

Which PoS rewards?

There is a wallet, you can find it in the ANN and on the website. ESP is one in a row of different software forks of Bitcoin, which you can see in the copyright statement in your wallet:

Quote
Copyright (c) 2015 Espers Developers
Copyright (c) 2014-2015 BlackCoin Developers
Copyright (c) 2013-2014 NovaCoin Developers
Copyright (c) 2011-2012 PPCoin Developers
Copyright (c) 2009-2015 Bitcoin Developers

(Note to dev: Fix the copyright statement)

Most coins today are not a "token" on a different chain, but run their own chain. Espers is such one as well.

These PoS rewards:

I don't understand, I have my ESP on my wallet but I can't stake/mine. Can't click on the button. Someone know how to stake or/and mine ESP?
The in-wallet miner is not built yet, and staking will start automatically after you unlock your wallet (if you have encrypted it) and keep it open. It just takes awhile since there is alot on network weight. The minimum staking age is 2hrs meaning it starts staking 2hours after you have received them in your wallet.

I guess it's an online mining? as I have to keep my wallet open in order to stake.

Staking is working, but the procedure is not clear to the end user in my eyes.

I am staking 27 millions for example and I got 3x a share of 63.000, 76.000, 53.000 over a month. For example, staking in Blackcoin is different. You will always get 1,5 BLK no more no less but
the more BLK you have the less time it takes for the next 1,5 BLK. This is easier to understand and more predictable.

You are right. IIRC Cryptocoderz said that he wanted to change the PoS payout scheme in such a way that it is easier to receive stakes for small holders, i.e. so that you get stakes more often, but maybe in smaller portions. We're all looking forward to what solution he will come up with!  Smiley

4 questions.

ESP based on NXT so I can hold the ES tokens on a NXT wallet like ETH vs ERC-20 ?

How many coins one is need to run a masternode? can't find this info anywhere.

Is there a limit of masternodes?

Is there any other benefit for ESP holders other then masternode commissions?

1. No.

2. Hasn't been decided yet.

3. Hasn't been decided yet.

4. You can benefit from the increase in price, and you can receive PoS rewards.

Sorry if it's been gone over a thousand times

Esp - yobit (bad)
Esp - coinexchange (good)
Esp2 - novaexchanhe (good)

So esp = esp2 for nova and coinexchange

But esp yobit is not = esp OR Esp2 on coinexchange and nova respectively?

Or another way

Yobit one stay away from yobit* the others are good despite one being called esp and the other esp 2

This is confusing

In addition I've tried sending a test amount of esp from coinexchange to nova but the tx id is not found when I use the block explorer

Yes you got it right!  Smiley There are two ways I would summarize this:

1. Yobit should delist the old ESP and list the new ESP. Nova should change the base market name ESP2 to ESP.

2. The markets listed in the OP, on espers.io or here: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/espers/#markets are valid.

Here is a summary of today's conversation (jun-21-2017) with @cryptocoderz on discord.

https://blog.espers.io/questions-answers-dev-discussion-69e0ff4f8c08

Very insightful answers indeed. Let my quote my favorite parts:

Quote
17. Could you describe the vision of Espers in a few sentences. I feel like many people don't really know where it’s exactly heading to.

To provide a system where finance, communication and data sharing can be safe, private and intuitive. To create a very secure chain with loads of addons (sites on chain, sidechains, messaging on the chain just to name a few).

Quote
19. Will the messaging system work on the mobile wallets?

The messaging system and staking is planned to be 100% functional with mobile wallets.

So, the goal could be summarized as having similar features as other contemporary high-tech coins, but implemented more securely and is more intuitive to use! That's also why there is an App coming and we have an auto-updater. It's not just a funny gimmick, it's an essential part of the plan! So it is easy to use for the masses in the end.

how much did this coin raise at original ICO??

Roughly 16 or 17 BTC I think.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: June 20, 2017, 01:43:23 PM
Just to confirm, all 20,000,000 coins are in circulation?

Yes currently according to coinmarketcap

The first post mentioned
Total number of coins:   20,000,000 XSPEC

But i am not sure if it will stop at 20M or 20M + 5% P.A

There is no hard cap, it's 20M + 5% P.A.

When I ask yobit support, it tells me :
"Deposit\Withdrawal coin will be available after you upgrade the source code of the wallet. Unfortunately the developers are in no hurry to send you updates
- therefore, in order to avoid the loss of users, the network is not available.
If you have updated the source code of the coin, send us (https://yobit.net/en/maintenance_request/ Free)and we will promptly correct the problem on the coin.
Thank you for contacted the support."

Actually this is an effrontery. The truth is, there was a chain upgrade and they missed it (although being notified of it a hundred times) and now they are fucked. How can they ask for an update for the old incompatible version, this is incredible.

YES ESP1 IS UNMAINTAINED NOW, that's why you have to delist it.  Roll Eyes

zu viele Begriffe die mir so nichts sagen , erkläre doch bitte auf deutsch was dein Problem ist dann kann ich dir weiterhelfen Smiley
("Delegate aktiv Coins forged" ??)

mfg

Hehe.

I've got a thought, maybe delete "currently" and use the new free line for a more visible website (it's a bumper sticker, right?)  Cheesy

Nice.
I'd say: go with the minimalist version! Smiley Even get rid of the "http://". Simple "spectreproject.io" will do.
the font family of looks a bit random to me though.

Thanks for your feedback! I'd say the details can be agreed upon with mandica later, e.g. whether to include the "http" or not (I put it there because many "normal" people don't even know that .io is a valid domain ending!). This is a design contest, to find out what kind of sticker design is preferred by the community.

Editing a line of text is a matter of seconds, there can also be multiple slightly different versions of the sticker (e.g. even without the URL) or with slightly different wording. When certain versions of the stickers will be agreed on before the print, that's a different question then. Also localized versions in different languages may be possible!

Ok thanks guys, I'm sure some of you know much more about Asian markets and investors than I do. So what would be your strategy now to enter Asian markets? Wait to get on Bittrex first? What else? Wait for new features? So that would mean it's essentially too early trying to get into those markets.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOICO]Suicide Coin | FULL POW | Scrypt [COMMUNITY] on: June 19, 2017, 06:30:14 PM
Why did the Dev just disappear and let this coin die ? It was a very good idea killing off useless coins to get a new coins . The Dev was so amped and now it looks like he has just abandoned and given up. He was back and said he was back and said sorry then vanished again.  I'm a bit sad and very disappointed about this one. It could have been great.

Maybe the coin committed suicide. Maybe the dev will come back and the coin will come back to life and will be swapped to Zombie Tokens, who knows.  Grin This coin was a pretty tasteless joke from the very beginning, so keep it up!  Tongue
738  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Steuer auf Altcoins - Kompakte Einschätzung? on: June 19, 2017, 12:29:46 PM
Danke Euch beiden.

Staking.

@Gandalf86
Something like this but better :-)

Yeah, I was rather thinking of some anime stuff but you totally get the idea!  Smiley  The task is to really get the theme and idea of Espers known in the context of other big currencies.

> Japanese people are about technology.

your inside is somehow correct. on the other hands, majority of Japanese are tech savvy particularly about blokchain technology.

So, that's why I am asking some of devs, what's beauty part of your coins and solutions.

If you highlight "HMQ1725" is the one, you will not get buy in from those investors. While there are may English translates in Japan. And also there are  some algo experts in Japan. However, we do not have much of them having "both capability". So, the potential of "HMQ1725" can not be impressed to those investors whom lack of English.

Someone PMed me if I can provide a Japanese translator for your dev, yes I can. but please note that as I said, capable resources are so limited and quite costly. Those party are also favor to do their job for potential project only in a sense - in that case, cost can be reasonable.

If I recall correctly, this ESP1 has distributed freely when you register somewhere other than bitcoin talk. That was an beauty part of the project. However, it's over and not happening again. even ESP1 is dead and ESP2 is running.

not FUD.

show me something beauty part of ESP2 then.

Your remark is a really good one! I have asked Cryptocoderz multiple times how he would summarize the ultimate goal of this coin, the "core idea" so to say or, how you put it, the beautiful part... he seems to have difficulties putting it right on the spot like that himself. The essential problem here is not only having an idea (which I am sure CC has), but also expressing it precisely.

"Features" is not what impresses investors, like a cool algorithm, masternodes, some chain magic ... but the core idea that links everything together so that everything makes sense! All of what is currently being worked on is laying the ground, but for what? That's the real question. If CCz does not want to reveal these things yet, or is still in the process of developing the idea, we'll sure have to wait with this promotion effort until things are ready, as Tekna says correctly.

That's just my little opinion, but I want to share it with you. I'm studying asian markets in general, and I think that japanese market is too difficult to get in considering this stage of the coin. If japanese people are involved in technology and investments, they want to know more than DEV himself about the project and want to have the best part of the project ready. If we want to invest in asian market, Chinese - Korean - Japanese markets would be the best order for getting in. Just an opinion, guys!

My impression was that Chinese exchanges are more difficult to get on, but I may be wrong with that.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN]⚡ ▐░Espers [ESP]░▌▐░PoW/PoS░▌▐░HMQ1725 Algo░▌ ▐░New Features░▌ on: June 19, 2017, 09:21:49 AM
Did you think hit chinese exchange is possible ?
or/and have a chinese community ?

There was a strategy plan created by me to get first to Japanese and then Chinese exchanges, which is still pinned in the Cryptocoderz Slack, but nobody has tried following it yet.  Wink I would also like to see this happen, but all I can do is giving suggestions.

What is the strategy ?
Explain us, perhaps yet the community is ready to help.

Blackcoin as a good chinese community.
Chinese like technical coin, espers is one of them.

Ok here is the quote:

Quote
so, we spent like 5000 USD paying Livecoin to list us. Now here is my 9-step wizard plan to spend 5000 USD to get on big exchanges:
1. Focus on the Japanese market, first. Japanese people are about technology, Chinese are more for profit. Get the Japanese on board.
2. I agree with @cryptocoinc that manga/anime is the key. Spend at least $2000 on making a ton of ESP-themed comics
3. Focus on the Ethereum-like aspect, like, the really big picture.
4. Spread the comics and news on sites like 4chan or similar ones where a lot of Japanese people are
5. Get added on a Japanese exchange
6. Add japanese translations for ANN, website etc.
7. NOW focus on social media, hopefully we find someone who knows his way around japanese social media channels
8. Chinese + Korean exchanges will follow
9. Profit

So generally, my plan consists of a few key points:
  • Really try to explain where Espers is heading in the end, with all the "service on blockchain" things. Probably CryptoCoderz would need to help with expressing this in the way he intended it.
  • Make comics about Espers "competing" with or against other big players in the cryptocurrency space to symbolize innovation.
  • Establish one comic character that has the "Espers" eye, so Japanese people recognize the theme before they read more about it. Also just a few cool pictures of that anime character will be nice.
  • Start social marketing campaigns only after it is already possible to buy Espers on a Japanese exchange, and after there are Japanese translations ready, so that people don't lose their initial excitement and the network effect can really kick in.

This plan is based on my own insights in mass psychology. The difficult thing will be to coordinate this because some didn't seem to get it and wanted to get certain points done before others, which would break the plan.  Wink
