Nvidia Made Billions From Ethereum Crypto Mining Says Analyst

Quote
n analyst at RBC Capital Markets claims Nvidia made “$1.95 billion in total revenue related to crypto/blockchain,” significantly more than Nvidia’s reported $602 million.

Mitch Stevens of RBC says from April 2017 to July 2018 Nvidia should have generated around $2.75 billion in revenue according to hashrate data for ethereum and other gpu mineable cryptos.

Steves moreover says Nvidia accounts for 75% of the gpu mining market while AMD accounts for the remaining 25%.

Very interesting, I thought mining is dead in this bear market, but it looks like NVidia is still making profits selling boards to potential etheruem and altcoins miners.

Anyone here can verify if you have bought lost of boards to continue mining despite the worsening market conditions?
7302  Economy / Speculation / Re: new fork bitcoin at soon time will make bull run on: February 03, 2019, 04:08:31 AM
i dont know how this thing of fork like bch , btg , ....going but we can say the cause of crazy rising in prices bitcoin 2017 is free money . people love free money
i am sur if new news say we have new fork next month that mean tommorow prices can be over 4500

bitcoin need another fork for example bch2   it is go good
it is good way for hold bitcoin and pumping prices to 7000 again from current prices

At this point we don't need forks just to push the price higher.

And why we need another shitcoins anyways? The price rose because majority wanted to claim a free coins but after that what happen? We don't need short term spike, what we need is some positive news to bring the confidence of investors.

The space has more supporters as well as critics than before

Following your first point, it would be nice to gather the consensus of BTC on a larger/grander scale. I know we have things like StockTwits to somewhat cater to this, but it would nice to gather a global opinion (either via news, social media, etc)
Majority of trolls are out of bad news and are reposting old news to create more FUD?

Unfortunately, I don't think they are ever going to be out of FUD. Let's face it, as long as Bitcoin has hype, there's going to be journalists trying to bank on scepticism.

Correct, trolls will be trolls, they will continue to attack no matter what cycles we're in so just be cautious of every news that comes around. It might be a rehearse or something, but most of the time, people failed to read between the line and some of them succumb to this kind of news.

I just seen another thread regarding the impact of bitcoin mining in the environment, these issues pop up months ago, and still there are sites that's reporting this kind of news.
7304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Many cryptocurrency players have gone bankrupt on: February 03, 2019, 03:54:44 AM
Those players who got bankrupt as people who have invested on it when the price is at the peaked in December 2017. But for those early adopters, I think they're still on the net positive sides and I doubt that they become went out as well. Majority are still in the market and playing and shorting bitcoin to still earn even if we're in the bear market.

So I wouldn't say there are many, and for those who lost this is a big and expensive lessons. And I'm sure that they will not repeat the same mistakes again.
7305  Other / Off-topic / Re: Intermittent Fasting for weight loss on: February 03, 2019, 02:39:23 AM
Right, I used this method before, 16/8. 16 hours fasting and 8 hours window for eating. My schedule for my loading is 2 pm - 10 pm. I also hit the gym without any food.

It's very difficult at the beginning because of the hunger pains, but I learn to control it and my senses are even sharp when I'm on IF, but damn when it's time to eat, I eat like a pig and I don't give a f**k as how calories I intake because I know I need to feed that body right away. Lol. I did this like 5 days in a week and 2 days off or cheating day.
7306  Economy / Economics / Re: LESSONS FROM CRYPTO MARKET on: February 03, 2019, 02:34:37 AM
The main lesson is to understand the market, to know in which direction it goes, in what phase we are, why are we there, technical analysis? Fundamental? both fail, the main thing is to understand the market and only understand studying books, such as Wyckoff, Livermore, who were first-rate speculators, also Buffet who is a sensational investor.

I wouldn't put too much emphasize on all theoretical. I learn everything from this community and searching around the web. Technical analysis though is difficult at the beginning and you really need to learn it my practicing.

Also, if you become a successful trader and started to make big money then security is the next big thing to learn. Invest on a hardware wallet and don't keep big amounts in trading exchange so that at least you won't get mad if those exchanges get breached or something.
7307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 03, 2019, 02:25:14 AM
What do you expert from someone who is very young and a lot of money to spent?

It's a hard and expensive lesson for him, that's for sure. I'm mean blowing that kind of money in short amount of time?  Ridiculous. Anyways, perhaps what's make it easy for him to spend and wasted all this money its perhaps he didn't work hard and sweat for it. For sure he is hoping that we can have another bull run and get all-time-high, not so fast, dude. Lol.
7308  Economy / Economics / Re: Wyoming Senate passes bill recognizing Bitcoin and other crypto as money on: February 03, 2019, 02:18:56 AM
Will this set a precedence for other States as well to recognized bitcoin and the rest of the crypto?

We need more friendly and supportive legislature and I'm sure this is a welcoming news for those who lived in Wyoming. 28-1? Who's the lone anti-crypto? Lol. So let's see how it goes, we might not feel the effects, but in the long run I hope that other States will follow as well.

"The bill also recognizes digital assets as legal property and authorizes banks to supervise and hold them in custody in trust funds."

I'm not sure about this though, crypto and banks?
7309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Exchanges][cdaevip.com][market][cryptonity.io][token] SCAM! on: February 03, 2019, 02:12:45 AM
I was part of this campaign for 3 weeks and has received my tokens. But I was quite surprised to see the prices goes down to $.01 in CDAEVIP.

What's going on with this project? I have high hopes but disappointed at the current market. Maybe cryptonity has nothing to do with it but maybe, wanted to stop the dumping as someone has mentioned.

We will just have to wait and hope that this project is not a scam.
7310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On what kind of gambling you got maximum reward from betting? on: February 02, 2019, 11:48:10 AM
We have lot of games in gambling and each have different kind of probability of winning and their rewards also depends upon the probability level so on which game you got your maximum reward in signle bet?

I love sports especially NBA and this is where I mostly gamble and most of the time, Im winning and earning a lot from it. I have been a fan of NBA and with this help, Im having the easiest ways in predicting on which team to bet for a maximum bet. Everyday it has a minimum of 3-4 games this helps me to earn a lot because its east for me to predict.

Then you should open up a tipster thread here so that we can tail your tips as well. That's one advantage though of being a big fan of certain sports. Most of the time you really knew the game very well and it's very easy for you make a bet and win some.

I'm also a fan of NBA and bet at a sideline, but I'm more of traditional based casinos and won big on several slot games in the past.
7311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XEM team scam peoples for millions of dollars on: February 02, 2019, 11:43:27 AM
this is confirmed informations about the XEM scam
In binance more then 1000BTC worth of XEM dumped and more then 100BTC dumped on polo
XEM team start dumping the supply and scam peoples for millions of dollars exit from XEM shit before it fall more
XEM fall from 1400 satoshi to 1100 satoshi in less then 24 hours i think XEM will fall to 500 satoshi or less in the few next days

You need to show up some proof though.

Are you sure that it's the XEM them doing the dumping and not just whales? And the last time I checked the price is CMC,

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nem/

NEM (XEM)
$0.040860 USD (2.68%)
0.00001175 BTC (1.55%)

They are still in the positive, or I'm missing something here?
7312  Economy / Economics / Re: Romania has approved a 10% tax on profits from cryptocurrency trading on: February 02, 2019, 11:38:41 AM
At least this is recognition by the Romanian government that crypto or anything related to crypto is here to stay so they might as well tax them for revenue purposes.

Yeah, 10% for you is not that big. As compare to other state crypto backup currencies such as crypto rubble who have been reported to be tax by more than 30% if I'm not mistaken.

So it's a fair trade and I'm sure Romanian crypto enthusiast will be happy of these developments.
7313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bakkt really an overrated event? on: February 02, 2019, 11:33:21 AM
This month, Bakkt implementation will push through or maybe not as what they always do(postpone it) and I see lot of people talked about how it affects the price. Question is will it really make the price soar/higher or this is just an overrated assumption?

As this point its still speculation as how it will really affect the market. And since we are in the bearish trend, a lot of people are waiting something to stir the market, sort of catalyst so that the market could at least make a recovery and be in a bullish state.

So I woudn't say its a overrated assumption, unless we really see the net positive effects. Imagine if investors will pour their money again on the market, it will make a lot of difference and everyone will be happy short term. So let's see how everything pans out.
7314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Exchange Run ICOs may be a bad idea on: February 02, 2019, 10:18:10 AM
It doesn't makes any difference, whales have been manipulating the price of every ICO in the horizon so I wouldn't be surprise in this case.

I don't think there can be no manipulation, instead it would help regulate the ico because the exchange will be the one conducting the tokensale. And it could boost the popularity of the coin.

You really don't understand it. How can it regulate or prevent manipulation? Exchanges has no control whatsoever. Just look at those exchanges conducting their own ICO's, all of them are below ICO's price, the bearish sentiments might be a contributory factor, but for me it's pure manipulation.
7315  Other / Off-topic / Re: $145 Million Lost After Death Of Crypto Exchange Owner. on: February 02, 2019, 10:13:12 AM
Very interesting, is the CEO only the person who has access to the funds in either cold or hot wallet? Why not they implement as multi-sig so that in cases like this the funds are still accessible to those others who can sign with the keys?

I'm sure exchanges like Binance has a contingency plans in place already, they wouldn't be the top exchanges if this simply business continuity plan is not on their list.

And It must be very disappointed and frustrated if you are amongst the traders and you have a lot of funds in that exchange. It's another proof that we don't need to put all or large amount of money in an exchange.
7316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 02, 2019, 10:08:16 AM

We all know that Nadal's strength is clay and there are years wherein he was really unbeatable on clay court. So I think he is still the man to beat in French Open. However, we have seen Djokovic emerges and young prospects coming out of the shadows although they really choke on big tournaments, I wouldn't be surprise for another Nadal vs Djokovic finals in Roland Garros 2019.

If this happens and Nadal is again on his A game I will try to watch the final in RG. Tickets aren't cheap but it's definitely worth it.

RG is a great experience especially if you are blessed to see Rafa Nadal's game. Some year ago I was lucky to be in France and I went to the court to see a game that Nadal was playing. It was one of the best pieces of experience I have in my entire life.

I haven't seen any live tennis in my whole life, lol. I envy you for having the chance to travel and watch tennis greats like Rafael Nadal.

The closest I can think of is watching Davis Cup eliminators in my country, but it's nothing compare to watching at least one grand slam tournaments in my lifetime.
7317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptopia Hacked. Will BTC Crash? on: February 02, 2019, 10:03:09 AM
It seems like hackers and thieves who steal all the assets from the cryptopia exchange are smarter, they won't sell their assets at very cheap prices like now, they will wait until prices become expensive as they did last year and at that time they will make the price fall again because the assets of the thieves are sold when the price is high.

Of course they're are very smart, just imagine how they bypass and was able to hack and sweep all the money in Cryptopia, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to wait as long as they can before dumping and taking home what they have stolen.

There are reports that up to this day though, hackers are still stealing the money so I don't know if Cryptopia is that incompetent and lost access or it's just a inside job and they're trying to exit scam.
7318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Seems to me Bitcoin is getting over the bear sh*t on: February 02, 2019, 05:02:40 AM

In all, I can say that the drop in the last 24-48 hours could've been scary but it got a support.

Nah, it's just the usual dump on weekends, but we have a strong support along the $3000-$3200 so it didn't go that low. Right now the price is on the green so nothing to be worried.

Maybe some good news are incoming, we can't be sure for now but in general i was happy for the last 24 hours. Let's see what the coming weeks also have for us.

Good news or not, the price looks solid to me, maybe the bears is at the point of exhaustion so I don't see a dramatic drop or even hits another all-time-low.
7319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN CAN'T BE DOUBLED. BE WARNED on: February 01, 2019, 09:04:45 AM
Yes, I was one of the those statistics before. Well, I was fairly new in the ecosystem and someone message me to join under his referral so I oblige since he is my friend and started to invest a small amount.

And just like any other bitcoin doubler, it will pay you off in the beginning, so you think its not a scam afterall. So i re-invest and the next thing I know, the site went offline and pulled a exit scam already. Good thing is that I only invested a couple but I heard my friend was able to get referrals who invested thousand of dollars, ouch!!!
7320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 01, 2019, 08:55:24 AM
There was a tweet sent out from Andy Murray and it looks like he just complete his hip surgery as he was dressed in a hospital gown and laying in bed with a thumbs up.
So he should recover from it by the time Wimbledon starts in july.

I thought he said that he is done already with tennis?

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/tennis/1064366/Andy-Murray-Australian-Open-retirement-claim

And this hip surgery will take months to heal perfectly. So I won't think that he is thinking a tennis comeback right now, recovery should be his first priority.
No.
He mentioned he will be retiring from tennis. But he wants to do it infront of a Wimbledon crowd so he was planning to come back in this last one tournament all along.
The surgery was done so he can recover intime so to compete in it.

My bad, I totally forget that he is still targeting Wimbledon as his last Grand Slam before finally retiring. It's fitting though, imagine a British player used to be number 1 and saying goodbye to all his fans, it will be a epic ending for him.

I do hope it heals so we can see him, even if he lose in the first round of Wimbledon, I'm sure lots of tennis fans will cheer for him.
