741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [May 2021] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: May 14, 2021, 04:42:58 AM
And yeah electrum and fees
- next block fee 80.2 sat/b
- 1.0 MB from the tip 4.0 sat/b
Wonder what algorithm they use for the next block estimate

I believe they are also looking back to see what fees have been needed recently. Just looking at the mempool doesn't account for what happens if there is a long gap before the next block.

I marked 2 points, the first shows where 7 Sats would get you 0.2MB from the tip and then the second is 35 minutes later when only 50+ got confirmed in the next block.
If you look back that you'll see in the last few hours there had also been several occasions where similar fees were needed to get into the next block.

just a Question from my refferals XD
Is it allowed to use the auto claim script ?
If you're talking about faucet, I think no. It's not allowed to use automated software and scripts to claim from faucet. It would be faucet abuse.

Correct. It is also not permitted to refer yourself. I can't think why else a question about botting a faucet would come from the referrer.

Does anybody know if there's a way to slow down the auto-multiply BTC roll speed?

That's a first. Even though we are one the fastest sites there is I often get asked to make it faster.

Use: https://bot.seuntjie.com/

Quote
There are a few more settings available in the advanced mode, like a bot speed to slow the bot down (the bot speed setting cannot make the bot bet faster. If this option is disabled, the bot bets as fast as the site, your internet and your computer allows it to bet), randomizing server seed and zig zag (to change between betting high and low).
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [May 2021] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: May 10, 2021, 03:58:55 AM
Hi thanks! I've done it just now. The thing is I was not thinking about the small inputs of that address for a while, because they were part of the same address and as I am a bit of a noob I was not aware that although they are the same direction they are small inputs that will cost me more expensive to spend in the future if I do not consolidate them.

That's something a lot of people miss. Even if they are from the same address each UTxO has to be signed individually which takes up a lot of space. Fees haven't been this low for four months and it could easily be as long again until the next chance to consolidate cheaply. If you needed to spend them when fees are higher it could you many times more.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [May 2021] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: May 10, 2021, 03:21:04 AM
What do you think about it. Should I consolidate them next Sunday if fees are still low or maybe just wait?

I would do it right now while you can at 1.2 Sats because there will be a difficulty increase before next weekend. Fees can't get much lower than they are right now so there is no point in waiting.

I don't understand why you think that martingale is incompatible with automatic betting. I've tried this strategy in the past on auto bet and lost many satoshis this way. Sometimes it takes hours to hit a bad streak and sometimes it happens in a matter of seconds.

I was a bit confused by that as well. It's practically designed to make Martingale as easy as possible. Set ON LOSE = INCREASE BET BY 100% and ON WIN = RETURN TO BASE BET, don't set a profit target and just wait until you inevitably bust.

Someone just broadcasted 38 MB of transactions at 4 sat/byte:

In the same picture you can see an earlier broadcast of 6 MB at 3 sat/byte too. I see this a lot nowadays: the moment fees drop enough, someone (maybe an online casino) uses the opportunity to fill up many blocks (most likely consolidating a couple hundred thousand inputs).

I keep track of the total number of funded addresses. When fees drop, the number of funded addresses often drops too.

The 4 sats/vbyte consolidation is all going to https://btc.com/3EiEN1JJCudBgAwL7c6ajqnPzx9LrK1VT6

With a balance of over 3000 BTC I would guess an exchange rather than a casino.

INTRODUCING A NEW SUPER-FAST TOKEN

People might start asking why do we need to HODL Fun if there's yet another coin/token being developed very soon?

The next part answers that.

The new token will be pegged 1:1 with FUN. A new wallet will be launched to allow transparent and user-friendly swaps between FUN and the new token.

It's a way of making FUN usable on another blockchain to avoid high ETH Gas fees. It isn't a replacement or alternative to FUN, it's just a more user-friendly way to utilise it.

Seriously, if you want fast and cheep transactions, implement and promote Bitcoin Lightning Network for your members.  I think you'd be surprised at how many users would implement it if they used wallets such as Eclair, Phoenix or even Zap on the portable devices.

That's not going to help make FUN more usable which is the objective of the above.

It is still an option for Bitcoin going forward but the difficulties of running it on a site this large with well over 50 million deposit addresses and thousands of deposits and withdrawals every day probably still outweigh the advantages at the moment. Maintaining a node and all the channels to make that work is a lot more complex than using it as an end user.

You've explained it well, I only disagree with your last sentence. I think the chance of winning is absolutely the same either with martingale or betting with 1.1x multiplier. With this particular multiplier you have 10%+ chances of losing your whole balance right away, with the very first bet, even on a site with the smallest house edge.
You are right. I calculated the chance of winning in both cases.
Let's say I have 1 BTC and I want to convert it to 1.1 BTC.

If I put the whole 1 BTC is a single bet with multiplier of 1.1, my chance of winning would be 86.36%.

If I use martingale method and set the base bet to 0.001 mBTC, the chance of converting the 1 BTC to 1.1 BTC would be:

(1 - 0.52510)100 = 0.852 = 85.3%

That's why Martingale is sometimes known as "the extra house edge".

What Martingale is really meant for is allowing you to bet on outcomes that are less than the minimum bet odds. Your example shows a 1.1x and you could reduce that to 1.01x. But if you wanted to reduce it to 1.001x then Martingale is the only way you can do it.

I think they learnt some lessons from hosting the Dodge coin faucet and it will be counter productive for them to open the platform for other Alt coins, because they do not want to create another use case for Alt coins to thrive, when they want people to buy their new token.  Wink

This does not look like a very large operation, with loads of support people that are available 24/7 .... so just imagine if you add 20 extra Alt coins and the support are flooded with additional Alt coin issues.  Roll Eyes

Disclaimer : This is just my own observation and opinion.. I might be wrong.  Wink

You're right. There's just wetsuit when it comes to running nodes and wallets and running an altcoin can be much more than doubling the work of running a Bitcoin node.

Making the deposit and receiving of the conformation(s) are 2 different things, mr. TheQuin, you know that very well.

No, they are not. That is the source of your confusion. Confirmation is an essential PART OF the deposit process.

We couldn't have made it any more obvious what depositing entails.

Quote
You can send bitcoins to your personal deposit address and they will be credited to your FreeBitco.in account after 1 network confirmation. We have no minimum deposit amount, we accept and credit all deposits to your account.

It is very obvious that a deposit has NOT occurred until it has been confirmed and credited. It might have escaped your attention that Bitcoin transactions are reversible until they are confirmed. Nobody in their right mind is going to give you a gift for what is nothing more than an intention to deposit.
752  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in- 2021 review on: May 04, 2021, 06:23:54 AM

We (FreeBitcoins.com) went the exchange route. Tongue

I'm glad our two services cover a nice spread of crypto stuff.

Our lawyer didn't like the idea of gambling/losing even internet magic money.  Exchange is a bit more straight forward, but a lot more complicated in my opinion.  (no fiat though, lots of people try to add fiat or things that act like fiat... that gets complicated.)

Another fast withdraw off FreeBitco.in... thanks fellas! Tongue

Almost to 10 million Bitcoins processed through the FreeBitco.in account.

My review of Freebitco.in https://freebitcoins.com/blog/freebitco-in-review/ (let me know if you see anything wrong, thanks!)

The mere fact of reading that: 9,500,000BTC and when they say 10,000,000BTC this makes me say in my mind that practically 50% of the total limited supply of Bitcoin has passed through freebitco.in, this data is something historical because it makes us reflect that each person who has had Bitcoin or fractions of Bitcoin has put it on Freebitco.in, honestly this data is of another level and speaks very well of what the platform represents.

Very few casinos have such a high traffic effectiveness rate for both users and negotiations, I don't know what the data of a traditional casino is like, of any casino in "Las Vegas" but with all the flow of money that is handled in freebitco.in ,I'm sure it makes a very good competition, Freebitco.in, Stake.com and bitcasino.io have historical data to emphasize.

We have been withdrawing from FreeBitcoin since 2014. Never once has there been a problem. The automated weekly cashout always arrived on time.

FreeBitcoin has processed almost 9,500,000 Bitcoins… You don’t have to believe me… verify it here: https://blockstream.info/address/329koRvovTyNnd4ADrpR2uJHzXxfvKxta5
Source: https://freebitcoins.com/blog/freebitco-in-review/]]https://freebitcoins.com/blog/freebitco-in-review/

That's only looking at one of our two hot wallets which we have used since December 2017. https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/329koRvovTyNnd4ADrpR2uJHzXxfvKxta5
There's another 1,720,665.25097504 BTC on the other https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/3LaNNTg87XjTtXAqs55WV5DyWASEZizCXZ

From 2013 - 2017 we didn't have the wallet consolidation process in place and withdrawals were paid out directly from deposits so it's not possible to say how went through in that period.

Once again i will talk about "GREAT PROMOTIONS"  of this service.
Now let see what they've claimed about 2 weeks ago:

Quote
"You can take advantage of a special promotion at FreeBitco.in: Bitcoin Deposit Bonus.

During the promotion period, we'll give you 10 Wheel of Fortune Free Spins whenever you deposit BTC at FreeBitco.in, regardless of the amount. Use your free spins to maximize your earnings at FreeBitco.in!

You can make multiple deposits during the promotion period and we'll give you 10 Free Spins for every deposit.

Claim your 10 Free No CAPTCHA Wheel of Fortune Spins."

So what i did ?
I make a deposit in expectation of their highly touted bonus.

It appeared then a message on the site, saying:
These deposits have not yet been credited to your account as they are still unconfirmed by the bitcoin network. We credit deposits after they have received 1 confirmation. Unfortunately we are unable to speed up deposit confirmations as it is done by the bitcoin network which is beyond our control."

But it is under your control to promise special promotions, that are depending on speed by the bitcoin network, right Huh

So, actually today (or probably yesterday) i saw finally , that my deposit has been approved in blockchain, but
guess what....

There are no 10 free WoF Free Spins, as people at freebitco.in generously claim in their one more "PHONEY PROMOTION" !!!

I want to be clear - i've deposited an amount during the required period, the confirmation by bitcoin network did happen today (or yesterday). It is not my fault,
but it is obviously 100 % their fault, that they do not fulfil pledges, undertaken in writing as it is evidently from the upper  quoted declaration   ...!!!

Really !
Come on you can not in all seriousness expect them to give you your BTC or free spins with out at least 1 conf ?

If I were to give you a cheque for $1000 would you give me the cash ? No of course you woudn't, you would bank the cheque and wait for it to clear and then give me the cash.

I do get that you may well have deposited in time but then the conf came after the end of promo but that is just how it is they had to have an end time somewhere didn't they.

Chill out and be thankful you are even able to receive free btc from this type of site.

My 2 cents worth anyway

Thanks
TT

TT has a good point. We run promotions on deposits when the Bitcoin network is congested to give you a little thank you for paying the high network fees needed to get a fast confirmation. Deposits obviously need to be confirmed in the 48 hour window of the promotion to qualify.

Sometimes I get promotional emails from freebitcoin regarding the deposit promo after I clicked it turned out that only bitcoin deposit methods were available of course I avoid everything that uses bitcoin for deposits so I mean why not provide other methods such as altcoins
Maybe because name of website is FreeBitco.in, not FreeAltco.in
But yeah, it would be nice if they would start supporting altcoin deposits. I remember they planned to support few main altcoins year or two ago, but so far it wasn't implemented. When transaction fees is so high, Bitcoin deposit isn't good option.

That plan got shelved mainly because we don't really want to get into being an exchange. There's a lot of regulatory implications involved in that. You might remember we used to offer ShapeShift deposits before they were forced to implement KYC. We are looking at alternative solutions to avoid high fees when the network is busy. At the moment Lightning Network still looks like it would be difficult to implement and there probably wouldn't be enough usage to make it worthwhile.

The good news, for now, is the mempool is clearing out and there should be many opportunities for low transaction fees until the next difficulty retarget (about the next 9 days).

Kindly consider to reduce the minimum reward points exchange volume. Btc price all time high.

It could be helpful like me..

No. RP are earned for every 0.00000500 BTC wagered so are not pegged to USD.

Why a hacker would want to gamble your funds, I don't understand the point of doing that?  Huh

The source of most hacking is either through database leaks from other sites where people have used the same passwords or through malware and malicious applications. That means the hackers will have compromised a large number of accounts at the same time. If they try and make a large number of withdrawals simultaneously there is a high chance they will be spotted and blocked by us. If they try to gamble up the balance on each account first they will have a much smaller number of larger withdrawals to make and greatly increase their chance of going unnoticed.

Speaking of Premium, can the FUN tokens be linked to any TRC or BSC chain? I'm still stuck with them on Binance due to the massive fees.

Wanted to join since March and God knows when the fees are gonna drop.

Maybe the Ethereum upgrade in July will help for lowering the fees  Wink.
As Jemzx mentioned, if you have some funds on freebitco, than buy some FUN tokens directly.

This is what I did to be able to have FUN Tokens, indeed the price on FB bit differ (around 1 sat or lower) from the actual price on the exchange on the day of purchase, but when compared to the fee that must be paid to send to FB it is much more expensive, so buy on FB is a wise choice if want to have premium members.

The only alternative idea you have at present is to sell the FUN, withdraw BTC to FBC wallet and rebuy it once here

We do have plans to make FUN available without ETH but they are a long way off so the suggestions above are what I would also recommend.

It's difficult to balance these two:

Eventually troll Will stop if we don't give them a time to continuously Bump the thread.

This guy is out to destroy Freebitco.in's reputation. His main account was tainted and now he is using Alt accounts to attack Freebitco.in. It is just #TheQuin's responsibility to protect Freebitco.in, because he is paid to moderate this thread and to communicate with it's users.

I'll get criticised by people rightly annoyed at the troll ruining the discussion here by bringing more attention to him when I reply or I get accused of having something to hide by not responding to ludicrous allegations. Unfortunately, the "No trolling" rule is one that the forum very rarely moderates. This isn't an ordinary troll who will get bored when they don't get the attention they seek. It's a psychotic criminal with an agenda.

Just Let It fade mate , Eventually troll Will stop if we don't give them a time to continuously Bump the thread.

I only replied a few times to give him enough rope to hang himself with. It's obvious that he's the only person who could have written those when you look at his old post history. I don't have any intention of doing anything other than ignoring him from here on.
