741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: December 06, 2018, 07:39:50 PM

A MSM paper for waves who is very encouraging.
however there is a lesser phrase:

In Crypto Briefing’s latest digital asset report, we found a few problems that might make you think twice. While the platform is strong on technology, the marketing side is comparatively weak, potentially causing the token to be undervalued in the market.

745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano the new NEO? on: December 01, 2018, 06:52:53 PM
Have not heard of this coin before.
Questions to ask.
1. What purpose does it serve. I mean what problem is it solving.?

2. Does it have its own blockchain.?

3. Who are the team behind it.?

4. Is it past ico for this project?

Will be glad if I can get answers to these questions

Q: What purpose does it serve. I mean what problem is it solving.?
A: Kindly read: https://whycardano.com/

Q: Does it have its own blockchain.?
A: ofcourse it has.

Q: Who are the team behind it.?
A: Cardano foundation, emurgo and IOHK, read: https://www.cardanohub.org/en/team/ - well, it's good to highlight that IOHK is the engineering team founded by Charles Hoskinson.

Q: Is it past ico for this project?
A: The token sale started way back Oct. 2015, read: https://www.cardanohub.org/en/genesis-block-distribution/

All of your questions can be answered with just a little research as the info are public.

may we have an update? what is most interesting here ?

It would also be preferable to be as close to Monero's codebase as possible [...] I reckon we might have a better project.

How could it possibly be better if it is almost identical?

These are our advantages while maintaining our codebase close to Monero. We have a smaller blockchain for an easier initial sync. We also have the Monero developers working for Aeon because smooth and stoffu can copy the code that Aeon needs anytime while doing improvements of their own.

But I do not know how advantageous cryptonight light is anymore, with the 1mb scratchpad instead of 2?

les pristy thinks that a smaller blockchain is a decisive advantage.
waiting for his new achievements.

750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 28, 2018, 02:15:32 AM
So I am noticing a pattern.

1.  Big BTC Market selloff.
2.  Big BCHSV rally with BCHABC even or selling off.
3.  Small or Medium Rally in one or more of the Privacy Alts (XMR, ZEC, DSH, XVG)
4.  BCHSV selloff

These three events have repeated at least 2 times, and I think we are currently on time 3...  And this time ZEC seems to be getting the most attention with XMR and XVG takng a little sunshine as well.

Thoughts:

It seems pretty obvious to me what is happening.  We are seeing a few whales selling of BTC to fund their "war" which has catalyzed the extension to the bear market in general.  Then we are seeing mass BTC and BCHABC being converted to BCHSV on captive exchanges which explodes the price since we do not have the ability to deposit SV on exchanges fully working yet.

The SV angle is very tenuous.  Once deposits and withdrawals and wallets are all working well we should see some pretty serious action, and I am thinking a fairly large selloff.  The whales buying it can only keep this up for so long, and once the floodgates open it's going to be a bloodbath.

Sadly, this is setting mainstream crypto acceptance back. There is no question.  The volatility will make the current SEC chief very reluctant to allow mainstream products like ETFs.  It frightens Joe Public. And it makes crypto look like the playpen of crooks and manipulators... which... frankly... it is.

As to the privacy coin bumps... this is most interesting.  It does seem to be happening in this same cycle...  after BTC and SV cool down from their respective dump/pump we see action.  Why?  Who?  Dunno.  Discuss amongst yourselves!  Looks like ZEC is getting the love this time around, but XMR and XVG are also seeing volume and action.

so the "bitcoin cards" are widely redistributed presently.
it was previsible for me, due to recent evolutions in 2017-2018.
when done, begins a new cycle, where privacy coins will get their role.

Tokenomica will be a holistic platform combining the best of the two worlds of traditional finance and blockchain. DEX, compliant STO platform, decentralized KYC and more — Tokenomica is coming.

i understand that tokenomika is compliant with kyc, but different than waves dex.
i am not sure however.

Ne eindeutige Aussage sieht anders aus...?

Die sind doch in der Schweiz domiziliert, nachdem sie in Grossbrittannien waren?

Du hast recht Waves AG Sitz in der Schweiz! Tokenmica Sitz in Malta! So richtig verstehe ich dann aber nicht für was wir beides brauchen...

Es wäre ja dann momentan noch so:

2016 WAVES - Decentralized DEX NO KYC!

2019 Tokenomica - Decentralized DEX? NO, KYC!

what i suppose is that there is (or will be) 3 different entities
-waves dex in switzerland
-tokenomika in malta
-vostok.io in russia
probably functioning similarly but differently with separated goals

clarification needed

Tja und was heißt das nun für uns??? Wenn ich es richtig verstehe unterliegt WAVES durch den Sitz in Malta nun dem
"The Virtual Financial Assets Act"

Beim Überfliegen des Papers würde ich sagen entwickelt sich WAVES vom Saulus zum Paulus:

2016 WAVES - Decentralized DEX NO KYC!

2019 WAVEX - Decentralized DEX? NO, KYC!

Oder wie seht ihr das???

einfach mal nach:

"CONSULTATION PAPER ON THE VIRTUAL FINANCIAL ASSETS REGULATIONS TO BE ISSUED UNDER THE VIRTUAL FINANCIAL ASSETS ACT"

googeln...

what's happening ? explained :

(at least one opinion)

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/a02j45/bitcoin_breaches_4000_in_15_minutes_what_is/eaeeupv

my uncle who works for a major investment bank explains to me... MASSIVE leverage is coming unwound in the equities market world wide in the form of enormous margin calls (after years of long positions)— people are frantically raising cash/flight to safety. truth is there is NO conspiracy. BTC/crypto is simply a casualty of this global risk off behavior...

coincidence? I think not.....

Well, arguably, we finally have capitulation, so... mission accomplished ?

I want to install WavesLiteClient on my Linux system. All I found on the website is a debian installation file (.deb). I do not use a debian-based system so it does not fit for my system. Can I find an alternative Linux file somewhere? A jar file for example?

All I found was waves-lite-client-mainnet-v0.5.18.zip (unpacked includes a jar file) on https://github.com/wavesplatform/WavesGUI/releases, but for one thing it does not seem to be a lite wallet and the other thing the latest version is more than half a year old.

i have installed waves-client without any problem on my ubuntu 16.04 from the official site wavesplatform.com/product
it runs without any browser.
i think that the waves-lite-app is out of date.

Well, I think you have used the deb file which easily let you install Waves client on your Ubuntu system because Ubuntu is debain based. However - as I wrote - I do not use a debian based system. For that reason, deb file is not an option for me and therefore I need another option to install it on the Linux system. That's why I was asking. If I would use Ubuntu or an other debian based system then the question would be superfluous.

OK, then waiting a little you would have a response from waves support here, they visit regularly this thread.
