What the hell is happening here, where all these trolls did come from? Guys seriously, I know account farming seems to be a good idea to spread some imaginary FUD over the forum, but it is against the rules and hopefully you get a nice ban for this. Take care.
While I concede the last few posts I've placed here have been critical, it is (I believe) for good reason. Watching Waves slip down from #18 coin to #34, even as they implement the NG upgrade and more polished DEX, is concerning. Considering the massive surge in altcoin market cap this last few months (hundreds of billions of dollars) Waves has received barely none of it. Now Bitcoin will likely surge and money flow away from the alts, where will that leave Waves? I still hold over 30k Waves and am genuinely concerned about the marketing strategy, the lack of interest in the overall crypto community, and the fact that barely any exchanges bother to even trade in Waves. There have been a few questions about how the rebase will affect current coin holdings, whether there will be a 'coin swap' etc. The short answer is that coin holdings will be completely unaffected. The rebase is about introducing new software to support the same blockchain. Coins are unaffected and there will not need to be a swap. You will probably need to restore your wallet from seed or keys using the new wallet software.
On the question of tail reward there has been ongoing discussion of this over the years and it was recently brought up on the rebase thread. My call on this is to simply adopt the same tail reward as Monero (that is, 0.3 AEON/minute). As such the rebase work should just carry over Monero's existing tail reward code. I know there have been some suggestions to try to differentiate on this basis, possibly have an exponentially growing reward (fixed annual percentage instead of fixed amount), etc. I don't think they are a good idea. The economics of a fixed reward that likely converges to a sort of fixed-ish money supply (given some percentage of annual coin loss due to lost/erased keys, deaths, etc.) both "get the job done" in terms of the reasons a tail reward is needed and also strike a decent balance with concerns over a coin serving as a store of value not having infinite dilution of coin holdings due to inflation.
Summary:
1. Existing coin holdings will not be affected by rebase
2. Tail reward to be implemented in the new code base will mirror Monero at 0.3 AEON/minute.

there is some analogy with WCT: waves holders need constant animation, and this is not a critic. waves is now a functional project, upgraded, able to bear much more activity. a good action presently would be to be accepted by some merchant sites and organizations, the concurrents work very much on this. |

Simply put Waves NG is "just" a different algorithm used for generating blocks, which will allow to process much more transactions/sec, making Waves much more scalable than Ethereum for instance. As this is a quite big change, it will require a hard fork of Waves. However your old Waves will still exists on the blockchain using Waves NG, and they will still be called "Waves". If you are not running your own node, and if your funds are stored properly (ie you own your private keys) or are on reputable exchanges, you have nothing to worry about. I hope that having your waves lent at the time of this fork would not endanger your waves somehow. Anyone knows? i tried a transaction today, and it was spectacularly rapid ! |

No, 11k - 12k will happen only if more holders dump, which is not a possibility for now. Also, the Aeon community is still hopeful, and in general, happy except for a few people like sammy007. I reckon he may have already dumped some of his coins on Bittrex.
