1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 21, 2017, 01:38:29 PM
Is mining bitcoin cash still profitable with the new prices? Is there any cloud providers renting bitcoin cash mining hashes?

Of course it is. 27 new blocks in the last hour only.

and BCC is progressively less behind than the original blockchain, reducing its gap..

It is extremely messy situation which is confusing people more and more. If you read arguments and points of one side seems to have weight and when you read other side comments they also seem same valid. It is better for non technical people like me to stay away from this unlimited civil war for the moment until clouds disappear and ways are clear like before.

OK but you have to take a  position during waiting. ..

1425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: August 16, 2017, 07:07:29 AM
Because the whales of the universe still need to have the experts invest for them. their own time would be too precious.

My worst investment for the latest 6 months. Let's see if ICN can recover till the end of the year.

Me too, I got in about 6 months ago. I dumped half after it doubled to take out my initial investment. The rest I will just let it ride. It's like free money so even if it goes bust I am not out anything.

ICN just has piss poor management and their communication sucks. The future will be bright once everything is rolling.. assuming that regular investment portfolios are still prohibited from investing in crypto. If Fidelity can start investing directly into crypto their won't be much need for ICN. Why would anyone learn crypto and jump through the hoops and verification if they can invest directly within their 401k?

don't be too us-centric as there is a whole world...
anyway we were told that ICN does not want american clients.

ICONOMI, the globally licensed and regulated bitcoin exchange, announced on Friday it has named London-based Columbus Capital its first asset management partner. According to the company, Columbus Capital has been selected to main and grow three funds, comprised entirely of blockchain-based assets.

https://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2017/08/120588-iconomi-names-columbus-capital-first-asset-management-partner/

thanks for reference.
so we have an entirely new scheme of (all cryptos) funds after this partnership with columbus capital, and ICN appears to be regulated in London.
if I understand correctly:

-BLX ex ICNX, 3M in lower risk management,

-Pinta ex ICNP, centered on ICO, 45M managed

-Blockchain.ONE, regulated fund quoted on bourses.

The arguments against Segwit are:

The block size increase is not enough to satisfy the growing needs of Bitcoin’s user base.
Others see a hidden agenda as a large number of people working on SegWit are also employed by a company called Blockstream, whose primary product is side-chain solutions.
Because a side-chain’s transaction will be verified by a trusted third party it is an unacceptable compromise because this is what the blockchain is supposed to eliminate.

The SegWit is providing solution to the following challenges in the network;

Resolve the weak spot in the Bitcoin software
Increase of the block size limit to an absolute maximum of 4 MB. The actual block size will depend on the network conditions. It is predicted by experts to be in the range of about two to 2.1 megabytes immediately after SegWit’s activation.
Remove the barrier to the implementation of second-layer solutions (side-chains) like the proposed Lightning Network. Second-layer solutions remove the bulk of the transactions off the blockchain to a side-chain.

(bcc solves these issues and more)
Bitcoin Cash is a split from Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain capacity.

If Bitcoin Cash gets majority of PoW then it becomes de facto Bitcoin.

clear for me....

"Russia's National Settlement Depository (NSD), the central depository for Moscow Exchange, the largest exchange group in Russia, is developing a blockchain platform to provide deposit and settlement services for digital assets and cryptocurrencies.

Built in partnership with Waves Platform, the public blockchain project designed for the launch of distributed applications had previously said in a blog post that it had struck a deal to become the NSD's technological partner, at the time, noting that it had has already started developing a prototype."

Yeah you're right. "Good" is not enough to describe that  Grin

It's good if the NSD platform is built atop the Waves platform and is fueled by Waves, otherwise I don't see the benefit.

soon 60,000 funded accounts
50,000 were not a long time ago !

Hows things m8?
happy to see your input and views  Smiley

Hi Pumpertits, Cheesy thats what she said lol

I've been enjoying (IE been helplessly addicted to) all the usual crypto-drama, especially Roger's "Bcash" vanity project.

This elective rage-fork is harmless by itself but set a terrible precedent w/r/t exchanges being forced with invalid 'pregnant cow' analogies to support every shitty airdrop for all time (because muh Fiduciary).

All the pressure on Coinbase, etc. does it make it impossible for US-based exchanges subject to lawfare (legal blackmail) to compete with those in less litigious jurisdictions, because they will now forever continue to be pressed into service supporting the latest trendy new contentious hard fork.

Thus I propose Bitcoin Core supporters create a Bcash Disruptor Node with the following functionality/UX.

1. Bcash Disruptor Node (indistinguishable from normal node) is installed, synced, and loaded with user's Bcash
2. Easily malleated tx are construed and broadcast with no out-of-pocked expense to user, targeting (exchange?) address with the largest/most active balances
3. Malleated tx construction is accelerated with users GPU
4. Attack Client uses airdropped Bcash to flood network with malleated low/med fee spam tx, forcing exchanges to halt deposits and withdrawals
5. User may select from Slow, Fast, and Random attack speed options for constant, instant, or unpredictable crapflooding fun

The more BTC you own, the more damage you get to inflict on Bcash using your free airdropped JihanCoins.  The force of the attack is multiplied by the stupidity of eschewing a malleability fix and the power of OpenCL to quickly malleate transactions.   Cool

My other idea is to fork Bcash into Bcash2x, which honors Satoshi's Vision (everybody take a shot) by implementing Segwit2x on the Bcash chain, where the egregious heresies of GregStream Corp cannot harm it.  Grin

This forcing to list forked coins ..began with polo and etc.
The rest....BDN system...lols great idea..

end of the day, bcc is here to stay and will be worth alot more than its current value...(BDN or not lol)
bcc is another coin in my basket for long term
All crypto is growing...grab em cheap while you can, i say  Smiley

nice to see you there, Pumpy, all the best for you !
1434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 09, 2017, 02:34:04 AM
I was actually hoping for BCH to go down so that I could scoop up more of those.   I think taking a long position on both is probably the best way to go if you can do it.

We are a week into it today.   There is no reason to rush into dumping the BCH that early.

Grab a surfboard and ride the BCH waves! Should be an interesting ride.

Buy low....HODL...Sell high.  The BTC way.

Bitcoin ABC (Bitcoin Cash; Bcash) is about 900 blocks behind BTC...not so much...
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [announce] Namecoin - a distributed naming system based on Bitcoin on: August 08, 2017, 05:21:49 PM
what are the relations between namecoin and blockstack?

https://www.namecoin.org/docs/faq/#how-does-namecoin-compare-to-blockstack

Note that that FAQ section is pending an update, but it's mostly still accurate.

it seems that blockstack implements a new internet system based on namecoin ?

Blockstack isn't an Internet system, it's a naming system.  Blockstack seems to be betting that the general public is too uninformed to figure out that their claims of being "an Internet" are bullshit.  Which, to be honest, might be a safe bet.

edit: seems pretty quiet here.

Do you expect our programmers to spend all day on BitcoinTalk?  We're a public benefit technical project, not a company with a PR department.

thank you very much for responses.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 08, 2017, 04:08:05 AM

Thank you for knowing that because many will know what will happen this August 1,

today is august 8th.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Buy ChronoBank TIME on Bittrex or Liqui.io ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: August 05, 2017, 12:57:13 AM
This coin has probably been the most dead coin since its launch lol. I feel so sorry for its ICO investors  Cheesy

It's the truth anyway. I'm thinking a few large investors who bought 60% cheaper than ICO just got barely little profits. They must have been dumping out slowly to chase other pumping coins.

I am an ICO investor and have lost nearly 40 percent in btc terms. TIME is very long here, waiting patiently.
I dont understand why the plane seems taking off.
You should quit some stars, and assess being slowly taxiing the runway.
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-23: update to 0.9.12.0] on: August 04, 2017, 12:31:03 PM
Are AEON wallets on bittrex only suspended, or are they completely gone including the AEON in the wallets?

Wallet is just locked for deposits and withdrawals. You can still sell your aeon there for btc and then do whatever you want with it. Its your money. Optionally you can transfer to hitbtc to rebuy the aeon for even cheaper than bittrex.
Rank is now 209
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 04, 2017, 06:45:45 AM
thank you for this info,,,
but my opinion about BCC/BCH is that the BCC/ BCH would be like BTC itself..
and after this day BCC will be raise day after day

we shall see.....
