I was looking for an easy and straigtforward mining operation

5 cores for mining

After 2 hours, i have found 1 URX

 

Forget about CPU mining coin. This type of coin usually shit-coin. And believe me, it will never grow if you only depend on the CPU to secure your coin's network.
Several coins can be mined with both CPU and GPU like Monero and other Cyryptonight based algorithm. But remember that you're also compete with GPU rigs, therefore your profit will be really small.

Yes, realized that too after i set it up. Do i really have to set up my own pool? I don't even know how to set something like this up.  

But as it seems it would be better to switch. On minerclaim my coins aren't confirmed for more than 12 hours now. Can someone recommend a good and reliable pool for XMG?

Sure, we'll fine them $5000/day until the problem is solved? Maybe throw the owner in jail for 6 months? Would this fill your need for justice?

X11 is one of the algos it supports. It is supported by ASICs. That means CPU an GPU is useless. Zpool has 42TH pointed at it right now on x11.
How can you beat that with laptop CPU?
