741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: May 22, 2018, 07:38:05 AM
Guys

Until the beginning of this year, i mined Dime with the original wallet (v0.8.3.14-g09e437b-beta) and i can tell you that neither pool or solo mining created any orphans on a regular basis.
I had many millions of this coin, but there were 0 exchanges. Then the coin got "re-developed" and put on an exchange, but strangely enough the exchange couldn't accept my coins.

So basically if you are all having the problems you are saying, then clearly the dev has done something untoward with the new wallet.
I have no idea what can be done, if anything.

If anyone wants to do a test sending some coins to my wallet to see if they orphan or do anything strange, i will return (minus any fees of course).

My current Wallet is version "v0.8.3.14-g09e437b-beta"
My current block height is "2880763" @ Tue 22. May 08:31:03 2018

Personally looking at all the issues you are having, the crazy diff (was under 200 when i was mining - i was making 10 mil coins a day easy), the price, i'd say this coin is well and truely dead.

Hi,
Does anyone have any live nodes please? (No Block Source Available - 219 weeks behind)
J

I've today contacted CoinEgg to see if they can provide the nodes they're using for their wallet.

Did you manage to find any nodes, I would like to synchronize my wallet too, but can't find any.

Hi, Yes, i have finally got my wallet synced.....BUT, as soon as i started to mine, realised that i have done this b4 about 6 months ago, and forgot the block reward is now ZERO.

If you still want to sync let me know.

In the meantime, if any kind person wants to DONATE some coin to me please feel free - F8Qs4B7xnNQZ8ATwBuE4ezAtZVv8NJ8UHC

Just wondering why the wallet is 300mb (seems large) and contains over 40,260 items (seems a bit OTT)

Advance Date to HardFork

GMT: Fri, 27 Apr 2018 13:38:09 GMT

Do not commit transactions after the specified date!!

A new version is available - v_0.7.6.6.

Hi Deff,

This is now the 3 or 4th wallet improvement, but there still seems to be no windows wallet?
Do you have any time scale for the windows qt please?
At the moment having mined this coin from its first month i have to say i am feeling rather screwed over, right when the fork came though and difficulty would have been low the linux guys have clearly been given a massive advantage.
Upto today i have lost 24 days worth of mining.

I have tried 3 devs who i have even offered to pay to compile the wallet and each one has been unable to create a windows-qt....
I would like to know where this project is heading please.
For me personally i would like to see the latest linux wallet, and new windows wallet, and pool released together, and then a new hardfork to reset the "fairness" of this project.

There is 1 action everyone can take if they truly want to help magi.

Each person move their hash to any pool  other than minerclain.net, and ensure that they dont use more than 250khs.
If everyone does that, it wont solve the problem, but will certainly have an impact.
Better still all move to the same pool than actual bans abusers....

It wont fix things overnight, but its the only way as a community we can break minernet's distruction of this coin

lets see what people power can really achieve.
The future is in your hands

Hello,

With an very old PC :

AMD FX 6300 @ 3.5 GHz - 6 cores
Motherboard MSI MS-7641

5 cores for mining

After 2 hours, i have found 1 URX

 Grin

Smiley Well done
Ryzen 7 16 threads 10 hours, no coins Sad

Sorry to hear that. Looks like we should set up a mining pool. Just spent an hour an got 1 URX, but i threw 15 threads at it. hashing around 9700.

I was hashing at just under that for the full 10 hours, thing is thats my 3rd attempt, and so far only 1 coin
I think latency must be coming into play

Thats my affiliate link to earn more.

I was looking for an easy and straigtforward mining operation
for just cpu but it also supports gpu, and has 2 pool's.

It pays out but with my 12year old intel pc im only getting 50 h/s.
or about 2euro a month at this moment running only cpu though
gpu can run at the same time it supports multiple devices.

It also smartmines the best value and transfers it automaticly to bitcoin
so you only need a bitcoin wallet.

try it here: https://minergate.com/a/718afa441a6fc5211ca004f0
includes:

Supported currencies

Zcash [ZEC]
Zcash is a decentralized privacy-centered currency, allowing users to partly conceal the details of their transactions, such as sending and receiving parties and the amount. It is possible due to innovative technology the developers have come up with, zero-knowledge proving. Zcash is a fork of Bitcoin protocol, thus they share some similarities, such as the total amount of coins to be minted and block reward halvings. Advanced privacy is the main major improvement.

Ethereum [ETH]
Ethereum is currently the most ambitious blockchain project. It runs its own cryptocurrency, called Ether, but goes beyond being just digital currency. Ethereum is a decentralized platform that allows building smart contracts: decentralized applications (dapps) that run as they coded without any possibility of censorship, downtime, fraud or third parties interference. The applications can move value through Blockchain and represent the ownership of property. The big idea behind Ethereum has attracted millions of users (crypto-enthusiasts, miners, investors) and boosted the market value of Ether coins, making it the most popular cryptocurrency after Bitcoin.

Bitcoin BTC
Bitcoin is decentralized digital currency that enables instant payments to anyone, anywhere in the world. Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority: managing transactions and issuing money are carried out collectively by the network. The original Bitcoin software by Satoshi Nakamoto was released under the MIT license. Most client software, derived or "from scratch", also use open source licensing.

Litecoin [LTC]
Litecoin is a peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant payments to anyone in the world. It is based on the Bitcoin protocol but differs from Bitcoin in that it can be efficiently mined with consumer-grade hardware. Litecoin provides faster transaction confirmations (2.5 minutes on average) and uses a memory-hard, scrypt-based mining proof-of-work algorithm to target the regular computers with GPUs most people already have. The Litecoin network is scheduled to produce 84 million currency units. One of the aims of Litecoin was to provide a mining algorithm that could run at the same time, on the same hardware used to mine Bitcoins. With the rise of specialized ASICs for Bitcoin, Litecoin continues to satisfy these goals. It is unlikely for ASIC mining to be developed for Litecoin until the currency becomes more widely used.

Bytecoin [BCN]
Bytecoin is a first CryptoNote-based cryptocurrency. A CPU-mined coin, it"s primary advantages are extraordinary transaction untraceability and unlinkability features. BCN is stated to be much more anonymous than Bitcoin and all its existing forks. The developers claim a person’s right to privacy is their primary concern and strictly observe their own privacy. Bytecoin was started on July 4th, 2012.

BCN is based on CryptoNote, an open-source technology for anonymous cryptocurrencies. It utilizes ring signature and one-time addresses for completely anonymous payments. CryptoNote is designed in a way, which makes block chain analysis impossible. CryptoNote is focused on CPU-mining in order to make the special purposes devices useless.

Monero [XMR]
Monero is a new coin using the CryptoNote protocol. It's based on Bytecoin, which was coded from scratch and is not a descendent of Bitcoin. XMR was launched on April 18, 2014.

Monero Original [XMO]
Monero Original (XMO) is the anonymous cryptocurrency based on Monero Helium Hydra, targeted on supporting original Monero blockchain. In other words, this will be the old Monero before the fork (April 6, 2018).

Bitcoin Gold [BTG]
Bitcoin Gold is a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain. At block 491407, Bitcoin Gold miners will begin creating blocks with a new proof-of-work algorithm, and this will cause a bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain. The original Bitcoin blockchain will continue on unaltered, but a new branch of the blockchain will split off from the original chain. The new branch is a distinct blockchain with the same transaction history as Bitcoin up until the fork, but then diverges from it. As a result of this process, a new cryptocurrency born.

DigitalNote [XDN]
DigitalNote is an experimental open-source cryptocurrency based on CryptoNote technology and CryptoNight algorithm. It is a fork of Bytecoin - the very first implementation of CryptoNote. Nobody own or control DigitalNote. It is a scalable decentralized cryptocurrency with strong privacy protection. DigitalNote uses ring signatures, to provide unlinkable and untraceable transactions.

QuazarCoin [QCN]
QuazarCoin is a new cryptocurrency based on the CryptoNote and uses the CryptoNight algorithm. QCN protects your data and privacy with help of completely anonymous transactions with ring signatures.

Fantomcoin [FCN]
Fantomcoin supports merged mining. It can be possible with Bytecoin, Monero, QuazarCoin or any CN based coin. New blockchain needs no additional hashpower - it uses Bytecoin, Monero, QuazarCoin blocks or shares as PoW. Miners are free to choose "donor" chain they like. In case other chains based on CryptoNote will appear they also can be used as "donor" chains.

MonetaVerde [MCN]
Moneta Verde is the first CryptoNote-based cryptocurrency with blockreward increasing together with difficulty. It supports merged mining with Monero, QuazarCoin, Bytecoin or any other CryptoNight-based coin.

AEON coin [AEON]
AEON coin is the anonymous cryptocurrency which is based on the CryptoNote protocol and uses the CryptoNight algorithm.

Dashcoin [DSH]
Dashcoin is a Next generation anonymous cryptocurrency and the first automatically mutating cryptocurrency created with CryptoNote technology.

Infinium-8 [INF8]
Infinium-8 (INF8) is a new privacy-centric coin using the CryptoNote protocol.
The open source reference implementation of CryptoNote was coded from scratch based on the CryptoNote reference implementation, and is not a fork of Bitcoin.

Infinium-8 aims to be a fungible and untraceable digital medium of exchange. It intrinsically has a higher degree of anonymity than Bitcoin or an

753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: May 18, 2018, 05:55:18 PM
Forget about CPU mining coin. This type of coin usually shit-coin. And believe me, it will never grow if you only depend on the CPU to secure your coin's network.
Several coins can be mined with both CPU and GPU like Monero and other Cyryptonight based algorithm. But remember that you're also compete with GPU rigs, therefore your profit will be really small.

Why are you giving such bad advice when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Many of us are making good money mining cpu only coins (yes some are even finally gpu mineable with minimum gains).
Simple fact is, that some of us spend days / weeks, even months finding coins, so are unlikely to give away the crown jewels, at least not in public.

For the record, right at this moment in time i am making nearly double cpu mining over gpu mining, you've just got to look really hard.

Does anyone have a AMD EPYC server that they would be willing to run a couple of hashrate benchmarks on for me.

This isn't entirely true. This just means each is solo mining. Honestly, what I think you want is a private pool. That way at least all the PIs are on the same page. Otherwise it would take eons to see profit.

I think.

Yes, realized that too after i set it up. Do i really have to set up my own pool? I don't even know how to set something like this up.  Huh

But as it seems it would be better to switch. On minerclaim my coins aren't confirmed for more than 12 hours now. Can someone recommend a good and reliable pool for XMG?

The 12 hours is probably due to the 520 confirmations XMG requires...

So much for enforcing limits  no wonder this coin ends up forking everywhere

https://ibb.co/hgyWbJ

minerclaim.net, right now.....

Top 15, lowest one is at 500kH/s, top one nearly 15MH !!!

Can minerclaim be regulated any way or have its right to pooling revoked?

Sure, we'll fine them $5000/day until the problem is solved? Maybe throw the owner in jail for 6 months? Would this fill your need for justice?  Roll Eyes

Or, you could just choose not to mine there if you don't like how they run things. Seriously, will you fucking crybabies ever stop? You want rules, crypto is probably not for you.

LOL
Its not about mining there or not mining there.
Its about a community at least attempting to stick by simple guides and respecting each other.
There are literally 1000s of other coins the idiots can go screw if they want to.

Joe, please if you can, re-engineer this coin to to mineable from the wallet only.
There seem to be quite a few coins out there that are achieving that now ( i know they will be cracked - eventually) (Zettelkasten is doing well so far)

758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: May 16, 2018, 11:42:12 PM
Unitus is a good coin mineable with CPU. It can also be mined with GPU, but CPU mining is also profitable. There is 5 algos which protect the blockchain. Some coins are too hard to mine, but this one is still ok for an old CPU or a notebook. You should have a look at it. Unitus is also going to be POS at the end of June or July.

X11 is one of the algos it supports. It is supported by ASICs. That means CPU an GPU is useless. Zpool has 42TH pointed at it right now on x11.
How can you beat that with laptop CPU?

As far as i can tell each algo has its own difficulty and reward, so in any given 24hrs the total coins mined per algo is equal.
I could be wrong thou.
