761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you picky with ICOs? on: September 14, 2017, 08:55:40 AM
Of course I am very picky when it comes to investing in ICOs and I strongly believe that everyone should be too. With the rise of number of new tokens doing ICO everyday, many of them could just be plain scams and run away with all the investors' money. Running through the description of the project and related links like whitepaper, core developers etc can always provide a good idea if the project could be successful.
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin you wish you had bought when it launched ? on: September 14, 2017, 02:50:51 AM
NEO for sure. The way it appeared out of nowhere and took the market by a storm was amazing to watch. Although it is dropping of by a considerably margin after the recent news, it still would've been a mint investment for me if I grabbed a few coins right at the launch of the project.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ico team salaries on: September 13, 2017, 02:49:19 PM
whatever the ICO manage to raise divided by the amount of team-members

Haha! Great one!

To answer the question: if you are a founder, then you should not even take out a salary. The ICO tokens you get is the compensation you should enjoy, and the tokens should be distributed in a vested form, with a long term vesting period and cliff issuance.   If you take out any salary, it should be well below market salary, imho. If you go over market salary, and you don't produce in the ICO, then investors can go after you legally.

Very well said. The whole point of ICOs is to raise funds towards project development and not even a part of funds raised should be taken as the 'salary' for anyone either the employer or the people working under him. Most ICOs hold a good amount of coins for 'the team' and this should be their takeaway from the project for all the work they would have put into it. It would be a blunder if the funds raised in the ICO were termed 'salaries' for the team and they fail to show any signs of developments towards the project at hand which is happening with a lot of projects lately.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Baptism of fire??? on: September 13, 2017, 01:50:37 PM
I am new to cryptocurrency and it's been a very interesting 3 months.

The Segwit2X, BTC fork and the thrill of up or down with BTC price was the first.  Then it was all "sunny" for a month or so and I even I enjoyed a 250% gain for a while.  Then the Chinese ICO debacle came and still here.  Today, I am barely even LOL

I know many "hardened" folks will say it is nothing compared to the dips they went through.  True this may be nothing but a scratch but I've learned several things in the process.  To which I am thankful since I only have a few BTC in for now.

These "challenges" are (honestly) bitter-sweet.  Looking at a low balance is a downer but at the same time I see these "dips" as opportunities and I do take advantage of them.

Anyway, crypto sure added spice in my life. Cheesy

If you're actually completely new to forex/crypto trading market, I welcome you aboard the most thrilling roller-coaster ride ever! Fasten your seat belts and rest assured you will love your time watching the market go up and down.
It will get even more exciting if you began following altcoins which almost every time follow Bitcoin's suite of rising and dropping. The best part of this would be watching your money hitting highs and lows sitting at home.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Website to track balance of multiple Crypto adresses on: September 13, 2017, 01:08:07 PM
Hi,

to have an easy overview of all my crypto currency holdings I am looking for service or website where I can paste a few public keys of my crypto wallets and it gives me the fiat value of every coin combined.

Preferrably with an android app.

Is there something like that?

How do you track how much you own in every coin?

It is always risky to import your private keys into third party applications and websites. From my past experiences, I have lost my money that I had stored in an online wallet that was hacked so I never trust online wallets or third party tools/applications with my coins. If you still insist, you can manage your coins on an exchange like Poloniex or Bittrex without having to import your private keys, otherwise it is best to hold coins in their respective wallets provided.
766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading style? on: September 13, 2017, 12:56:47 PM
My strategy towards the cryptocurrency market is pretty simple and straight forward. I call it the 'snipe and wipe' technique.
It begins with an intermediate research about the current trending coins which are going down and finding the best among them to invest into. When I find the right coin, I put my money into it and basically buy in. This is the 'snipe' part of things and yes its pretty hard to find a coin sliding down which will rise in the coming days. Once the coin improves on the market, whenever I think the price and time is right, I wipe the floor and sell all my holdings of that token.
Of course the down side is if the coin never rises back up and just dies off, but being in the crypto market from a couple of years has given me enough experiences of shitcoins and I can easily filter the best among the worst.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling? on: September 13, 2017, 12:28:04 PM
This happened to me very often and even in the present. I usually place bets, make profit and walk away happily while the profits still last in my pocket. Sometimes greed gets the better of me and I place more bets from the former profit derived and lose them. At this point I'm breaking even but the bet placed and the time taken for the outcome of my wager is clearly waste of productive time may it be my college or work.
768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous ICOs? on: September 13, 2017, 12:19:36 PM
The hardest part of running an anonymous ICO would be to accept an anonymous token like XMR or ZCash and to implement a smart contract like the one on the Ethereum platform. Most of the tokens which undergo ICO are ERC-20 tokens and contributions are mainly made by ETH through smart contracts which lands the tokens directly into your Ethereum wallet and by no means is Ethereum considered to be an 'anonymous coin'.
769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening again? The market is looking all red! on: September 13, 2017, 11:19:51 AM
A lot of happenings are influencing the current price of Bitcoin, the main ones being the Chinese government's decision on banning Bitcoin and altcoin exchanges across their country and JP Morgan CEO, James Dimon's utterly baseless statement of calling Bitcoin a 'fraud' worse than the tulip mania. Its pretty saddening that just baseless news is enough to bring a flourishing market down to its knees and it only gets worse as more FUDs appear as we watch the market tumbling.
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Presale vs. ICO on: September 13, 2017, 11:12:12 AM
ICOs which are coming up with clear cut and focused objectives are the ones making the most out of presale (reaching the max presale cap within no time) and this is the effect of offering an incentive to the investors a discounted rate at the time of presale. Of course it is a gamble for the investors but it is much better to obtain tokens at a better rate than during the ICO itself.
If an ICO presale gets a lot of investors buzzing and fills the max cap very quickly, rest assured the ICO stage's hard cap will also be fulfilled soon and this is exactly why a presale before the actual ICO would mean the difference for many new coins out there.
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cant believe a Tweet can cause $billions blood bath on: September 13, 2017, 09:10:08 AM
Has the china ban been confirmed yet by its government as I can't see anything?

These rumour tweets should be banned by Twitter as they can be false or incorrect.

When will this china ban FUD fade away?

If there really is a china ban then how long does it take for the chinese government to pass and implement this law?

Just to confirm its chinese exchanges only? Mostly all exchanges are online so does that mean chinese exchanges can bypass this ban law by moving their websites out of chinese servers onto western servers where the ban does not apply?

It will definitely take some time to pass and implement laws regarding cryptocurrencies that too in a communist country like China. The amount of uncertainty is still large and this is causing a discrepancy to the price of Bitcoin from over a few weeks now. From another angle, it looks like a group is trying to spread the FUD and take advantage of what is going to happen next. In other words, they are trying to buy in when the price hits lows due to the chaos that is being created.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon says bitcoin is a 'fraud' Whats your take? on: September 13, 2017, 08:33:03 AM
I had this news pop up in my feed and wasn't amazed that JP Morgan called out Bitcoin to be a fraud. They have their own blockchain technologies ongoing and anything above in the chain is clearly head on competition for them.
This isn't the first time someone is calling out BTC to be a fraud and it definitely won't be the last. It's the people's decisions to invest and use the system which is as transparent as glass, open source and most importantly secure.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you really loved an altcoin? on: September 12, 2017, 07:31:02 PM
To fall in love with an altcoin is to look at its price go up and get all the happiness in the world for most people, no better sight than one's money going higher and higher.
Personally, I liked Skincoin a lot because I was very much into CSGO skin trading/gambling and implementation of this token would make everything much easier from trading to betting and even cashing out. Been following the coin since its development phase and it has been pretty disappointing so far because it dumped badly as soon as it hit the exchanges.
774  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to sell bitcoin on: September 12, 2017, 03:22:02 PM
I want to sell bitcoin. I have 12 BTC that i want to sell. I only accept WESTERN UNION payement.

Wrong section, use THIS for all your currency exchange needs. Make sure to read all the help docs and use a trusted escrow while trading.
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price point per BTC will it be too late for the average person on: September 12, 2017, 02:44:40 PM
Four words to sum up my thoughts on this subject - Its never too late.

Back in late 2013 when I came to know the existence of Bitcoin, I thought I was already too late to put my money in but decided to throw a small amount of my savings when the price was about $250 per coin. Though I couldn't get a full coin at that time, a year later with all my hard work and perseverance, I managed to get my hands on 1 BTC and it had already crossed the $600 mark by then, although it had a lot of fluctuations at that time. Ended up selling all my balance for $750 when I thought it was right and still made a decent profit.
Today we're here at $4000+ and its still an ideal time for the average person to put some of his money into Bitcoin citing the long future ahead for Bitcoin.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Posting/Sharing gambling related topics & news in facebook on: September 12, 2017, 02:32:25 PM
In general, I don't like posting any gambling related links or topics on my Facebook feed not only because it makes you me like a gambler in front of my entire friend list but also as I don't want others to involve into gambling unless they know what they're doing. It gives me bad vibes that someone saw my gambling related post on a social networking site and lost their money because they did not know what they were doing. Moreover, it might cause an unnecessary addiction towards gambling which might affect their futures.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin will become the main coin, what will happen to the money we are using on: September 12, 2017, 02:18:00 PM
The possibility of Bitcoin replacing fiat in every day trade is almost nil. Taking a simple example of the recent developments in China, it wouldn't be possible to make Bitcoin universal in terms of usage. There are a lot of other concerning issues like carrying out micro-payments without having to shell out much in transaction fees, sometimes the network itself, possibilities of more forks etc.

Thanks for the good laugh! xD
778  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will rebound tonight according to theory! on: September 11, 2017, 05:28:42 AM
It's almost evident by now that all the FUDs are sidelined and there is only one way Bitcoin is heading, to the top! Even I am predicted a sharp rise in price after the previous week of FUDs disappearing and it could even reach an all time high again of over $5k which is going to be great news for all the holders.

780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cryptocurrency and the Blockchain coming to an end? on: September 10, 2017, 01:10:09 PM
Does the Illuminati trying to stop the widespread of Cryptocurrency and the Blockchain, under the banner that they only want to protect the "poor" investors from being scammed? It seems that the powers at the helm of this world are trying to do the last evil effort to keep the power concentrated in their grimly devilish hands. Unless one is under a rock somewhere on a deserted Island, one can see an onslaught of negative news about Crypto Currency in the mainstream media out of all places. In the wake of the news that the Chinese government is cracking down on ICOs and virtually deeming them as Ponzi schemes. The whole Crypto world seems to be shook to the core. Massive panic sales are taking place, people are selling the Crypto currency assets in gigantic proportions. If only they would stop for a moment and look around them. Stop and take a deep breath and see, see what is really happening. This is -dare I say- one of the great opportunities to get in the Cryptocurrency market. One can say that this is a process of cleansing, this unfortunate series of events are happening just to purge the people who got in the Cryptocurrency business because they saw yet another "get rich fast" scheme. They have now found out the contrary. Who will ultimately prosper in the business of Crypto? Those who are in it to win it? Those who are not getting scared away by the desperate decision of a totalitarian regime, that is trying to grasp the concept of freedom and crush it with unfounded allegations to make sure that freedom is yet again set back for a few more years. WE the free people of Crypto, WE announce and WE declare, WE promise and fulfill, that WE won't be thwarted in our path, WE won't be intimidated by any false power that try to stop us, WE are the future, WE are the next evolution of humanity and WE KNOW THAT FEAR IS THE OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING WE ARE, WE ARE HERE TO STAY!!!

Talking about Illuminati in 2017 makes you look like a stone age man, claims of the "eye being everywhere" makes you seem even more deluded. But I agree with the part where 'not so rich' investors are losing money to these 'get rich fast' schemes.
For now, China is the only powerhouse opposing cryptocurrencies and ICOs and even the good coins won't get the Chinese market which is a massive drawback as it usually amassed a good part of the investment.
