762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Alpha folding pool open! New and improved - Ready for round 2??? on: August 27, 2013, 01:27:09 AM
How do the mining rewards for this compare to mining Litecoin?

I would switch over all of my rigs to this pool if the rewards are just a bit higher than LTC. ^^

For now id ask people with extra rigs to just point one or two rigs at the alpha pool, you will want to know how to fold in advance of curecoin being launched !!

Ok, so just point my gaming rigs card at it.

I have a pretty high power bill to pay with my other rigs. lol

what mmm I like thanks for the card

Thank you for shopping with us.

We have been a bit delayed in getting the automated system up for everyone to use. Its done, we just don't have a good supply of cards to put on the site for sale.
we have some $10 and $20 cards the rest are bought from a local store as they are purchased from the site.

The plan is to have 3 denominations instead of 6.
Instead of $10-$60 cards we will have $20, $50, $100.
To do this we really need $500-$1000 to buy inventory.
I just transferred $300 in BTC and will have enough cash soon to have 1 of each $50 and $100 cards and a few $20 cards.
Its not ideal but its a start.

If you would like to help us buy inventory I have a loan up on btcjam waiting on funding.

769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Seems GPU mining is getting difficult on: August 25, 2013, 03:00:31 AM
You guys should factor your cities utility tax anda ll the surcharges. The rate in california for me is 0.0873 kw/h but after all fees and tax, its actually 0.175 kw/h.

About 30-60% of mining revenue is going to your power bill whereever you are.

mine is $0.08 kw/h after all fees ect. Its 0.045 per kw/h for the usage and 0.035 per kw/h for delivery charge/tax/fees.

Good job you even thought about air filter. Only disadvantage I see is that this kind of fan draw a lot of electricity.

I don't have a meter but my estimate is that its pulling around 300-400w. Its less than my window AC unit and it does 700w. I am going to install a dimmer switch so when this heat wave lets up I can turn the blower down. I think once I optimize everything and get all the components out of the crates I will be able to run the blower as low as 30-40% which should cut power usage alot. Its still cheaper than running it inside and having the AC fight it for sure. And my room is now a nice 75f Cheesy
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Seems GPU mining is getting difficult on: August 24, 2013, 09:26:14 PM
I currently pay $0.08 per kwh flat rate. It doesn't change.
I have 4,000kh/s and mine about 3.5-4btc worth of alt coins per month.
I mine on middlecoin pool, but If I mined LTC my earnings wouldnt be much lower.
My power bill is only $100 over what it would be not running the rigs.
I know this by comparing my bill to my neighbor in the apartment next door.

So 3.5btc ~ $400 - $100 power = $300 profit per month.

Difficulty still has a way to go b4 I stop mining.

I picked up 2 more 7970s so I'm now up to 5,400kh/s so I should be near $400 profit a month. Smiley

Off topic but I supplement my mining income by reinvesting most of my profits back into btct.co, I make more and more in dividends every day. I'm at about 0.012btc dividends per day and have about 0.7btc invested. I plan to invest alot more.

Is Goldcoin on your site?

Not yet, but if you can talk coinpayments.net to take it I will gladly enable it on my site.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Possible Overkill? Old Trunk Litecoin Mining Rig on: August 24, 2013, 06:57:32 PM
My ac went out so I had to macgiver this shit.

I took an old trunk, like the kind your grandma keeps at the end of her bed and fills it with blankets and stuff. I attached a furnace blower (squirlcage fan) from a fullsized house furnace. I then stuck my 2x milkcrate rigs inside. I have a hole in the opposite end. It pumps so much air its crazy. I put the hole thing out on my porch that is pretty open, lots of windows. Even at 100f outside the hottest card is only 83c and the coldest being 64c.

I'm going to make some custom mounts with 1x1s in the box and put the components directly in the box, this should allow me more cards and more boards. I'm thinking I could put atleast 12-15 video cards in that old trunk and keep them all below 85c at 110f outside. Cheesy

774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP! Talk me out of buying more GPUs!!! on: August 24, 2013, 06:50:49 PM
A box from Newegg showed up yesterday with 3 brand new HIS Ice-Q 7950's in it.  $703 total !   Shocked

hehe, good luck. I've had the same GPU addiction for years, however cooling costs are what have prevented me from completely filling my house with rigs.

I have partially solved my cooling issue. Smiley

If you dont want to spend coin and still want to test my system please use the code   2OFF   at checkout. This only works on the $50 and $100 cards and will make them free. Please remember this is only a test and all cards are just place holders and have no value.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: >>>[ANN] www.Visa4Crypto.com Prepaid Visa cards accepting 16 different coins<<< on: August 22, 2013, 07:19:37 PM
Ok seems to work. I was emailed a locked rar file, and a text file with pass for rar file.

sweet. good to hear. PM me your address and I will refund you.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: >>>[ANN] www.Visa4Crypto.com Prepaid Visa cards accepting 16 different coins<<< on: August 22, 2013, 06:55:58 PM

Edit: I did notice you can't buy multiple of same card? Tried to add two $20 cards, and it says its already in cart... Not sure if this is much, just noticed...

Each card listed is a physical card, that is why there are 4x $20 cards and 4x $100 cards. I couldnt find a plugin that would let me list it as one item with a unique card or download for each purchase. Its my compromise. So to add 2 cards choose 2 separate cards.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / <><>Visa4Crypto Automated Virtual Visa Alpha Test<><> on: August 22, 2013, 05:40:27 PM
Who wants to help me with an alpha test of my auto-delivery system?

http://visa4crypto.bugs3.com/

All prices are lowered by 100x so a $20 card costs a little over 20 cents.
All sales are for testing purposes and all card numbers are place holders, none of the cards will work this is just a test.
I would have done free but I want to test coinpayments system and my auto delivery system and make sure I dont have any cards getting to ppl that are not paying ect.

Please email me at Admin@Visa4Crypto.com to request a refund after you are done testing or PM me here. Please include any bugs you may find.

Thank you.

The official service is still running, don't get the 2 confused.

post here if you have any suggestions. I'm looking for a good "free" woocommerce compatible wordpress theme.  Wink

780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is my 75 Kh/s GPU beating my 1.1Gh/s ASIC miners? on: August 22, 2013, 03:08:30 PM
get the newest cgminer v3.4

Instead of showing total shares it counts the difficulty of the share. So like im mining on middlecoin pool that has a static difficulty of 512, so every share my accepted goes up by 512. This should give you a way better idea of whats more efficient.
