761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Most Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 7 Markets on: October 23, 2014, 08:49:25 PM
HYP has one of the most secure PoS networks and the difficulty has been consistently above 1 the last few days.
New record established: diff reached an ATH of 1.97

Some things to add to the wikia, please (I'm busy on other things that cannot be done by other than me - the more people to edit the wikia, the better - many thanks for those who already do):
the FAQ
Just an orphan. You and somebody else submitted the same block at about the same time. They won. It just reverts to staking, nothing lost. It happens a lot with all POS coins.

With the increase of difficulty, popularity, and weight does the recommended minimum block size still hold? Do you guys have any particular strategy? I have 12 inputs of 250 HYP with an age of around 21 now and considering biting the bullet and combining them now...
https://bit.ly/hypsize

List mode shows each block, tree mode shows each address. I never use tree, don't even see it's purpose, but that's me.
Tree mode only makes sense if you have several addresses in you wallet. It helps monitoring each address independantly. Could be the FAQ too or a section devoted to coin control (we don't have one yet!)

Max stake maturity is thirty days. After that it gains no further weight, but will keep trying to stake and should eventually do it. I have staked ONE coin. Took bloody forever, but I wanted to see if it worked. It went way past the gain.
What happens after 30 days? is a recurring question worth an answer in the FAQ

Best of luck, welcome to the community, and if you find good answers, please share!
And add them to the wikia Smiley

I always thought u are supposed to make new addresses for every incoming transaction-- for privacy reasons?
If you want privacy, use Monero (buy them on the XMR/HYP market as part of your monthly selling of stake, for instance). Anything else is just an invitation to examination (blockchain transparency, anyone?). Maybe one day HYP will have Monero-like privacy, but I am very well positionned to tell to not hold your breath on it Smiley

Personally, I wouldn't want to see automatic coin control added.
[...]
Honestly though, consider not adding automatic coin control - you'll take away what I see as a big part of HYP's addictiveness.
I think it is GREAT IDEA!!!
I also support this idea.
I do not believe barrier to entry is a good thing for a coin that want to be popular. Automatic coin control will probably leave room for fine-tuning any way, the same cars have manual transmission or even sport mode, whilst other have automatic transmission. Then, who's right on cars? Everyone is. Different audiences and preventing one audience to access the coin is not my vision for HyperStake. Not everyone wants to be addicted - I am, and I'm fine with it but other people just want it to work well, without this feeling of losing money because they don't understand coin cointrol.
Plus, I tend to think there would be a bit less day-traders if coin controlling was not only automatic, but even encouraged with a potential stake displayed right in the wallet's main window, an "executive summary" ('you have X HYP at the moment - in around 20 days, you should have Y HYP if you leave your wallet open most of the time").

For the happy winners of the auction: I will handle the reception of XMR for Risto. I will PM you a paiment ID and the address for sending the XMR.

Huge selloff on Poloniex. Next wave of new investment will follow.  Smiley
Very nice way to look at it!

The hyper POS is great feature to prevent dumping.
I could have soled my 5.9K coins and make 100% short-term profit but then I lose my potential stake and that prevented me for take the short-term profit. Next time when the price is 10k or more I sell maybe the POS reward and wait for a dip to buy back.
Good. You are starting to understand how coin control works Smiley

Thank you David for your gracious presence. Doublespeak much?

maybe you just read what you wanted to read. I quoted cycoinminer.

Nice work on the wiki, are you planning to convert Ristos original google document on the inner workings of it to the wiki as well?
Some I already did. I expect YOU, the community, to do it (me included - I am part of the community)

Aaah,,, finally. Kiss of death to the auction price rise!  Grin
Not exactly, since no one knows how much I will sell (maybe not even me) and I will definitely have less than the king to sell. So "I'll wait for David" might not be a good strategy, no Osbourne effect. You don't know the price or if, whatever the price is, there will be some gold left by the time you want to play. So, better safe than sorry, buy when you can Smiley

The risk is that the game never takes off, which would make playing not so prestigious (but nevertheless fun).
That should remain the most important thing. Money is a means to an end, not an end in itself (this I say for the crowd, not for the King who already knows it).

For information: if you notice something factually wrong here, please report it to me. Otherwise, let fudders give us free publicity; it is always appreciated to increase volume, which leads to lesser volatility and wider adoption, which in turn are fundamental for continuing experimenting on a grander scale.

Hi created a wikia for Crypto Kingdom. Wikia is like Wikipedia, but for communities and proved time and time again a great tool as a reference for hardcore game, introduction for newbies and promotion for would-be players. Help us achieve the same goals for Crypto Kingdom and remember: any can edit everything!
http://cryptokingdom.wikia.com/

Nice work. Impressive.
Who is currently selling gold right now ?
EDIT : Oh yes, the auction thread. Never mind.
Hmm... really hard to decide.
For those who cannot get gold from auctions, I will sell some of mine.

how hard is this to set up on raspi? just curious..thanks
Beginning of a Rasberry tutorial. You are welcome to improve it.

Now, if you decided to add an automatic coin control feature, then why not benefit the community wallet with it - set aside 1% of the S4C going towards the community wallet. If people aren't willing to optimise the results themselves, let them pay for it. 1% is nothing in the whole scale of things.

Honestly though, consider not adding automatic coin control - you'll take away what I see as a big part of HYP's addictiveness.
Fine-tuning your control by going manual, go in cruise control mode when you want it to; focusing on other things than stake control, widening the adoption.

There are reasons why there are cars with manual transmissions and car with automatic transmissions. There are even cars with "sport mode".
Autocoincontrol is not an either/or proposal.

The 1% mandatory S4C is a dangerous idea. Default 1% that you can deactive (whether you are in manual or auto mode) could be worth considering. But 1% mandatory if you don't want to go manual.. I wish you luck to convince me.

BTW, if someone want me to store coins on a Linux computer, you can ask me.
I'll ask 1% as fees (min 10 XMR).
As an individual (not as a core team member), I vouch for superesistant. You can trust him. I can even financially back up his claim (up to a certain amount of XMR, I don't have that much).

A.D. 1400

* David Latapie has been created Earl (L10). "I wish to honor David, Earl of Armagnac, for his great contributions towards the game in this first day of game development. As a token of my gratitude, and a tribute to HyperStake, of which David is a lead developer, I wish to gift the first 10,000 gold existing in this game to him. Since CK gold is a staking asset, this will give the longest possible staking period for Lord David."

* David, Earl of Armagnac (David Latapie), has been gifted with 10,000 gold.

I never properly thanked His Majesty for the incommensurable honour He bestowed upon His humble servant. His Majesty may rest assured the earldom of Armagnac will show his gratitude toward the King of all Crypto Kingdom.

HAIL TO THE KING!
773  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-13] The Imminent Decentralized Computing Revolution on: October 21, 2014, 12:28:31 AM
This is an awesome article. Not only it is in the Wall Street journal, but it explains what it is and what is at stake in a clear way and connect the dots together.

A must read.

Quote
There are three technologies that will form the foundation of the decentralized computing stack — mesh networks (decentralized networking), block chain (decentralized transactions) and autonomous agents (decentralized decision making).

[...]
And it opens up a whole range of possibilities:

Decentralized voting (e.g. Agora), where voters pay using a crypto-currency into an account representing their choice, with the winning candidate being one with highest balance.

Decentralized Domain Name Registration (DNS) (e.g. Namecoin) would be based on a crypto-currency model, and operate independently of ICANN (so technically immune from Internet censorship). Namecoin uses the .bit top-level domain.

Decentralized storage (e.g. Maidsafe and Storj), where trustless nodes would work together (using crypto-currencies as means of payment) to exchange storage space and bandwidth.

Smart self-validating contracts for real-time revenue sharing (e.g. Secure Asset Exchange); helping artists secure and verify their digital artwork by logging it in the block chain (e.g. Monegraph); and even decentralized Twitter-like P2P asynchronous messaging platforms (e.g. BitMessage and Twister).

Document certification (e.g. Proof of Existence) is a clever use of the block chain as a publicly visible and authenticated timestamp.

In fact, asset registries/keys that could theoretically be implemented in a block chain model are endless — land titles, private equities, mortgages, vehicle registries, passports, birth certificates, voter ids, gun permits, wills, escrows, degrees, car keys, house keys, patents, trademarks, coupons, genome data and even nuclear launch codes!

Companies like Ethereum and BitShares are now building their own, new block chains, platform and programming language to help developers build next-gen decentralized apps.

And just last week, a couple at Disney World had the first block chain marriage, recorded forever within the block chain!

We have more ideas than abilities for the moments. I said before that I like to kill several birds with one stone; I also like to avoid reinventing the wheel.

I would like we focus on working in tandem with other coin when it will makes us grow stronger. Here are the one I identified:

when HYP will be added in bittrex,..
HYP had been submitted some days ago. They did not reply.
Ask them.

A new entry in the FAQ: FAQ - What is the best block size?. Hope you'll like it. As always, you are welcomed to correct, improve...
Once the calculator will be available, the entry will be updated.

It will probably just not split your stake if it is under a certain amount and leave it all in one block.
Which means there will still be room left for some serious manual optimisation - at least for now.

Update: new entry on the HDJ: teaming up for new heights.

Looked at rich list, funny/strange that guys at very top apparently do NOT use coin control, all kinds of haphazard small amounts in there..do you guys NOT care about maximizing your holdings..or does it really all grow the same anyway  Undecided
Oh I do use it. Enough to know that automatisation is required (coin controlling 184 blocks is pretty time-consuming, although fun).

On an unrelated note, I just created slogans on the wikia. Have fun!

HYP is #32 in marketcap on CMC (#22 on cryptocoinrank) and, probably more important, also #32 on volume.

Remember guys: volume matters more than price. Volume is an indicator of actual interest (it is still too early to talk of utility, but we are working on it).

It's too late to profitably invest at this moment, isn't it?
Don't forget that HYP has unlimited amount so it is never too late - there are just time now when you can do some insane profits (it is mostly a matter of luck) and some moments when you just stake and cash with time. The virtue of inflation is that it is never too late.

So, no, it is not too late. You will just need more patience.

Will annual interest rate be reduced sometime?
Or it will be always 750%?
Always 750% (this is not NVCS) but a max generation mechanism will kick in in two months.

Just the Typography on a black shirt would be pretty slick looking
