this coin will be relaunched after a couple of days, why mining now ?
You will never see 60-70 satoshi again. Just like I said with DOGE when it left 50 forever...... Price keeps rising. Buy walls solidifying and you can see no one really wants to sell much below 80. Then look over at the buy side for 35-60 it's filled up with people that won't get those prices. Except for now, it is back under 60 and falling FUD, yeps that will help alright. Just remember, relaunch shortly. LEAF is taking some attention away from MEOW at the moment, good time to sneak in for a few more MEOW!

It's changing by the minute by many GH/s. I think someone is playing.
If you think about it, if you have huge hashing at your fingertips the most efficient method of mining would be to hit a single coin, grab all the blocks at the lower difficultly then switch to another coin before the difficulty goes up. Do the same on that coin, then switch to another, round and round. You would be taking advantage of the delay between difficultly changes. Not saying that is what is happening here, only speculating.
Yes, this happens to coins with longer difficulty adjustments *all* the time, it is commonly referred to as "strip mining" Start mining first block after diff adjustment, SLAM with everything you've got, as soon as the diff retarget kicks in, bail out. For coins with a long diff retarget (say, 8 hours) this can be really bad. Once the huge diff adjustment occurs, the coin is no longer profitable so the hashrate that caused it disappears, leaving everyone else mining stuck with a much higher diff than they should have. Say for example if the diff adjustment is normally every 8 hours, huge hashrate comes in and the diff increases by 3x, then the hashrate goes away . . . now everyone else is stuck for the next 24 hours (3x normal diff adjustment) mining at the higher diff until it readjusts again. Fortunately, the KittehCoin diff adjustment period is only 1 hour, so if the diff goes up by 3x due to some monster multipool jumping on, we're only stuck with the high hashrate for 3hours before it adjusts back down to where it should be.

Don't push too hard for this listing yet -- the coin is too new. Too many new coins being mined per day in relation to total coins in circulation, it will just die on the exchanges right now. Need to get dev involved, if he's still interested - otherwise, thar will be MUTINY!!!!

But, serious question though. Wouldn't those whales be here, reading this forum, and know that this is supposed to go much higher? Where else are they going to learn about and get MEOW if it's supposed to be not re-released yet? I know if I had invested in 50 million or 200 million MEOW (~100 BTC right now, $75,000) i'd be F5'ing this thread and all the other kittehboards every 10 minutes looking for the latest information. I sure wouldn't be dumping it all before 'relaunch'.
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Like I said earlier, most traders are like kids with ADHD, they hop from wagon to wagon as fast as they roll by. If I were holding 100M MEOW that I had purchased @ 2 satoshi, sure would be tempting to sell at 100satosh and make 50x profit. Why wait a week to make 200BTC when I could make 100BTC right now? That's the mindset of most traders.

KittehCoin Relaunch is coming! Client update required! Target relaunch date: February 3, 2014
These are exciting times for KittehCoin! Everything is falling into place for the relaunch on February 3 with a revised coin spec, new services and merchants, games, and more! The community involvement on this coin the past few days has been outstanding, we appreciate the support! As you may have read in the previous update, the coin specifications are changing. The block time is changing from 30s to 60s, total coins have been reduced, and we have altered the block reward halving intervals for a more fair and reasonable mining period. WHAT WE NEEDThis will require a client update to remain synchronized with the network and we need to make sure all pool operators are aware so they can update to the new client when released. The official pools list is located in the Wiki at https://kittehcoin.info/wiki/category/mining/If your pool is listed - GREAT. Please PM me with your contact info, or just reply to the thread letting me know you're the owner and I will PM you here on BitcoinTalk when we are ready with the new client. If your pool is NOT listed - please reply to this thread letting me know your pool address so I can update the list. This topic is self-moderated - please keep chit-chat in the Official ThreadThank you again for your outstanding support!

@danosphere: The new exchange(s) will be on the same date?
We will try out hardest to get listed on Cryptsy and other exchanges as soon as possible after relaunch, however, the exchanges pretty much do what they want, so there's no guarantee we'll be listed right away. We have spoken with a few already and received positive feedback so far

Bugger it, holding what I have and just bought more. I'm holding 45M but no one btc left to buy more There are single individuals holding 45M MEOW? I am selling out now while I am ahead. Maybe a bad idea, but prefer to get out while I am a little ahead than have to worry about guessing when one person can switch on "dump" and crash the price all by themselves, and leave me at half where i started. Yes there are persons who hold big amount of meow and they are can dump and some or one of them did it several times already but they do it for buy cheap and they will pump it back. Just do not play that game with them, do not sell. When it will come to cryptsy, volume will increase and much more people will buy/sell it i belive less influence of one man. Although i hope dumpers are reasonable persons and will not dump after relaunch, after relaunch nothing should stop kitten from moving to the moon! There will definitely be whales dumping right after relaunch to quickly take advantage of any price jumps... that's what i'm worried about. I would rather just hold on to all the coins for the long haul but i'm afraid of all the crashes that will happen and how soon we recover. I am guessing most of the big holders of MEOW are already out. Most of them probably purchased at 2-4 satoshi which is where it held for weeks prior to the recent uptick in price, selling at 80-100 for 25-50x profit just makes sense to do, especially since the market has been plenty busy enough to handle that kindof volume if spread out over a day or two. At one point yesterday, I saw 126BTC worth of sell orders at 57 - that is about 221M MEOW, it was gone within a few hours. 600+BTC total volume in the last 24 hrs At current price of 57 that is a little over 1 BILLION MEOW traded. almost 25% of total market cap. And that's still with about 3% (144M) new coins being minted each day. Incredible.

no need to fork any because 99% of those coins will die on their own. wheres doge tho lol
100% agree - your hashrate is probably better spent on making BTC, most of these are going to die off within a month or two anyway
