Proposal for FoldingCoin Dedication Reward

At the monthly meeting, I talked about using 5Mln of the 100Mln undistributed tokens we received for rewarding long-term folders. This way we can also reward small contributors for their dedication. What I propose:

We count the number of days an address has been included in the daily distributions. We then reward the folders via weekly distributions for reaching the following milestones with X amount of FLDC:

Level 0: New Folder - 0-10 days - 0 FLDC
   Level 1:   Junior Folder - 11-25 days - 200 FLDC
   Level 2:   Folder - 26-50 days - 500 FLDC
   Level 3:   Senior Folder - 50-100 days - 1000 FLDC
   Level 4:   Hero Folder - 101-365 days - 5000 FLDC
   Level 5:   Legendary Folder - 1yr-2 yrs - 10000 FLDC
+   Level 5+: Folding Champion - +2yrs - 50000 FLDC

These rewards might be small to huge miners, but they are sizeable to smaller ones. We could also only do it above a certain level. Next to this we can make badges for this (Like a FLDC logo with a number on it) that people can proudly use on bitcointalk.

For the next week, I would like to get feedback from the community on this and then we will put it up for a vote in this thread.

So, what do you think?

I'm in favour of this, the reason im still folding is not because of profit but rather the value of the work units i process.

I like it!!!  Waiting for GPU #2 to get returned from repair!!  Gonna double the folding power!!

Thanks for the feedback! I will ask Robert to create a poll in this Bitcointalk topic, which will run untill the next public meeting to see if the majority is in favor of trying this out.

Why BLOCK price has fallen so much recently?

Not a clue I'm afraid.

Personally it looks rather nuts to me. Sell before the decentralised exchange is released? Crazy.

At least it's actually a very low volume. Perhaps it's just a couple of people who need the BTC or something.

I think it probably has something to do with all your links dying on the main post:

The op is still full of dead links...  How are people's experiences with slack? I don't feel like yet getting on another site.

Price rising... What is everyone aiming for?

We're going for the 384,400 km or 238,900 miles. Google it Wink

Diana is a false goddess. Change that focus to 140 million miles Cheesy Takes about the same fuel, and has resources to make a new home for humanity.

Forgot that we already reached the 238,9k and going to the next level Smiley

I hope whoever's holding those bags that got bought all the way down is rich enough not to care.  Shocked

Will we rebound?  Huh

highly likely, looks like it has started already

Rebound? This coin is rising so fast that a couple of small dumps are inevitable.  This puts coins of weak holders in the hands of new supporters.  I'm gonna hold anyhow, as i already have my initial investment back, so everything else is profit ☺

Would be nice to get on that exchange again as it is more targeted towards mainstream traders.

I have just put a proposal to the devs that they update me every Thursday on Slack with a view to me collating and providing a full community update on BCT every Friday.

I want this update to include a clear snapshot of the roadmap and the project's progress against it and a summary of what the dev team have been working on, problems encountered...bugs found...new ideas...development progress.  I like project updates to be PR free and consist of simple factual statements.  Obviously these updates will contain good news and bad news about the project as it progresses.

Does anybody have any suggestions on anything else that should be included?

Good idea!

Maybe include a questions from users section?

Anybody else getting this error when trying to login?

logged into my wallet no problem.  reading through counterparty support forum and it appears a few people have had this problem.          https://counterpartytalk.org/t/counterwallet-login-issues/926/18

Fixed for coindaddy's main net implementation. It was a mem overflow due to Bitcoin spam flood.

Thanks for fixing! Smiley

trying to deposit fldc to poloniex and have been told due to issues with counterpaty that folding coin is affected.   does anybody know what the problems are?

I had some issues with counterparty login today,  so I think they're having some issues.  Usually it works out itself pretty quickly

FLDC market is looking good for a change, solid buy support at 40 sats

Just checked it and we have a buy support of 13BTC at 40 sats! That is incredible news! This is a win win for three parties: the buyer that gets FLDC at a bargain, the folder that will be able to sell some FLDC to pay for electricity and finally of course the future patient that can be cured. Am also interested to see if Bittrex relist GMC, as it was delisted when the coin was going through a difficult stage in development with dysfunctional blockchain.

With the rise we just experienced, people will demand a lot of exchanes to simply add the coin. I am pretty sure we will see a  lot of "Gamecredits is no listed at ... exchange" the upcoming days Smiley

Will there be a way to port GMC into old school games?

Why not use bitcoin? Why do we need GMC?

...

Well put, Biomech!

I have been following this coin for over 18 months now, because I knew the gaming niche made a lot of sense. The original developer was a great guy, but could never offer what you guys are doing now! I am enjoying the rollercoaster ride to the top and it feels like we lifted off to the moon instead of going down Smiley

Thanks for the replies! it makes sense to do it that way. I noticed the coin for the low spread and high volume.  Does the link to the market price work or has it been manipulated in the past?

Until now it has worked fairly well. But as Bytecent gains increased visibility and popularity, it will be interesting to see if some will try to manipulate it to their advantage.

Basically a higher price would mean lower mining reward right?  So the likely scenario is somebody dumping and then mining itself?
