781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 16, 2022, 11:41:59 PM
This is what we called superstitious belief, right?

Well, I think every gambler has their own way of attracting luck, but for me, I'd rather believe in statistics and the chances of winning than luck. There are times we get lucky but we can never get consistent with that, so for me, Fengshui or whatever it is that would make me lucky is not necessary anymore as luck will just come when you are not expecting it, just like a thief in the night.
Most of the western gamblor go with the luck but the superstitious belief is very common in china.
They do most of the things with superstitious beliefs
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: July 16, 2022, 11:38:07 PM

People are not always that good when it comes to investment aspect where they do really believe that Bitcoin is the most hyped coin? thats really a very wrong idea to have.
Whenever we do play gambling then we dont usually mind about the money being spent whether you are making use of btc or some altcoins that they are accepting thats why i could really say that current market conditions cant really give out that much effect because gamblers are really that willing on spending their coins for their leisure.

If you do really think about investment while you do gamble then it doesnt really correlate but it would be a good bonus if you do win big and hit something significant on btc forum of course.

There are gamblers who are just aiming for entertainment, and if they use their crypto, they don't mind

if how much they use as long as they are being entertained, they will not be affected by any changes in terms of value, while
there are also gamblers who are very strict to this kind of enjoyment.

They are just allotting portions of their crypto and try not to exceed, some might be using their crypto for investment while
some really use it for gambling purpose.
And at the most of the gamblor quit.
Noone can gamble for a longer period of time - they win or they loose - but they quit at the end.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 16, 2022, 11:36:39 PM
The participation of Zimbabwe and the Netherlands confirmed the teams of the 2022 Australia 🏏 T20 World Cup, a total of 16 teams will participate in this year's event.
The teams are: 1. Afghanistan 🇦🇫 2. Australia 🇦🇺 3. Bangladesh 🇧🇩 4. England 🇬🇧 5. Ireland,🇮🇪 6.India🇮🇳 7.Namibia🇳🇦 8.Netherlands 🇳🇱9.New Zealand🇳🇿 10.Pakistan 🇵🇰 11.Scotland 14. Zimbabwe🇿🇼
15.West Indies 🏳️16. United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪
When small countries get opportunity to play against the leading teams they'll gain more experience as well as find ways to play in a professional and experienced manner. At times it is possible to see new teams playing good, but all of the sudden the.match used to change completely. They don't know how to withstand those situations. These can be learnt only by playing against the top teams.
England - Australia - India and Pakistan will be top 4 teams.
and I think Australia will win the tournament

The situation is not looking good, I'll say that. Economic warfares and especially large ones like the one we are facing generally transform in full-blown military ones. I pray to God that doesn't happen, but realistically speaking the political relations between China, Russia, USA and Europe are very fragile right now. Nuclear attack defense precautions were aired on public TV in the United States - what clearer sign do we need?

When you add to this the economic recession and the possible future waves of COVID you can paint a really dire situation.
I wonder - when the whole world was going through post COVID crisis why did Russia attack Ukraine.
There are people dying already in the whole world and they want to kill the people - and this inflation is killing us.
785  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 11, 2022, 10:01:11 AM
if for the olden days elders of that period Happened to gumbo with their animals that is to show you that the gambling is not for fun but gambling is only meant for addition or what you want or what you have I disagree with the so many people who give reasons that gambling is only to play and the cat form why ancient people use it for generating of fund and the agrarian Maltese with it
The history of gambling goes back to ancient time - even in the religious books we see the messages being conveyed to the people not to gamble - in the Quran, Bible and other religious books - gambling has been prohibited. But still we have our justification for the gambling.

This is amazing how everything is connected in the world. The Ukraine-Russian war causes more troubles outside contested territory, then inside. I think some countries are even feel pity that they took part in this war and now are involved into financial problems of whole world. They could have been sitting quietly at home, doing their own stuff. But now, as they have impose sanctions, they are hit with financial boomerang.
In all that war - the good take away is Russia is not stoppable. How they have started accepting Ruble for oil and gas trade is already a big game changer.
Russia have kept a tight control on their state bank and how they are bouncing back is exemplary also the way they have used their gold resources. They are going to fight back. Lesson learnt from this war is depend in your own resources.

Wait, what sport or league are we talking here? I'm not sure if I did follow but I think I'll just leave that to you whatever that is and I'm confident that you quite know the sports well to have that kind of speculation. Hopefully that's not a big league because I'm confident that big league games aren't easy to get fixed, you need to have huge guts to consider fixing huge leagues which is by the way spectated by thousands to millions of people.
Life is very fast these days - people just watch and give their opinions on it.
But I believe most of the big games are fixed .. like there were so many miscalculation and cheating which was done in World Cup qualifying round.

A blissful birthday to you. seeing 8 decades isn't an easy experience to go by especially looking at how things were while young and how things are now at your current age. It just buttress the saying that, "Change is constant".
It's true what you say, for those at the echelon of power are just milking the poor through unruly taxes, impositions and so on, in disguise to maintain their lifestyle and opulence.

That is correct - "change is constant", and than is survival of the fittest.
If you want to excel in the life you have to move along with the modern stuff. BUT keep the old one saved. They will be an antique later in life.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Type of Gambler Am I? on: July 11, 2022, 09:03:05 AM
I consider myself a "conservative player".

Now I am a very prudent and practical player.  I have very tight control over the size of the gaming budget and the time allotted for gambling.  However, this was not always the case.  I used to be a compulsive gambler.  I was completely obsessed with roulette and thought only of gambling.  My addiction to gambling was in the nature of a drug addiction.  I was aware of this problem and developed a clear algorithm for getting rid of this gambling addiction.

My method was based on the fact that one addiction can be overcome with another addiction.  I managed to get rid of the gambling addiction.

Now I am a "conservative player".
That is a good approach - being a conservative player. Did you know in many cultures gambling is not allowed.
Because gambling is a very dangerous gambling you can lose your good amount saving in a jiffy. And when you get up in the morning and come out of the alcohol  you get to know that what have you done to yourself.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 11, 2022, 08:58:15 AM
That's because a child only sees and imitates what his parents do so it makes us as parents be careful when in front of them. We must be able to set a good example so that they see and imitate it for their future provision. If we can set a good example for them, they will surely understand and be able to distinguish what they can and cannot do. This will also prevent their children from doing something bad when they grow up. Children need the understanding to understand things so this is what makes us have to be able to explain everything properly and correctly.
Parents have their own choices but I am sure that parents do not want their kids to follow what wrong they do or did in their life.
Like if a father takes drug he would beat his son to death if he finds out his son is doing the same. Likewise - if the parents are addicted drinker they would not want their kids to do that, Having gambling trait in DNA is not correct - its a choice.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 09, 2022, 07:16:07 PM

Depends on how the person adopts the system, might be true that if the kids don't like to do the same

they can stay away from these activities and find their own path, if they see that there's nothing for them or if they are not
enjoying but in that same sentiments, if those kids see that the parents are enjoying the mindset or the thinking is they can
imitate that just simply following how the parents deals with it.
But most of the time - kids become more smarter and more wiser to decide what to do and what not to..
However - life teaches everyone a great lesson every day. But saying that your are gambler because your father was gambler or you smoke because your father does. Is not correct.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 09, 2022, 07:13:40 PM

With this I can understand what are you trying to say but in subcontinent we can't bring things like SENA and West Indies because of environment and few other factors are also having serious concerns about women and here @Sithara007 is also right if we have Rohit Sharma then body language is having nothing with any player and just not this we already have too many players like these in subcontinent, but they have done good job and women's also can do in this way even some can better.

But, they need to have some better skills and improve quality which is big issue because if you are going to play against Australia, England and West Indies then surely you need quality which will give you better result otherwise they will throw out of stadium without any big trouble.
I believe most of the  South Asian players are very talented all they need is to polish their skills and become consistent and fitness conscious like Aussie players.
The Aussie are very smart - tough and very focused on their work.
793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 09, 2022, 07:09:10 PM
Now in the modern world - thing are more covered up there are new techniques and ways for the match fixing. But I am sure every big game has a big game behind it. To me almost every match if not approx 80% matches are fixed. Do you agree?

No. Big games are most watched. There is high money at stake here making it critical to be involved in a match-fixing.

Big games and matches are also recognized by most people around the world and I doubt something fishy will happen here. They won't ruin their reputation for that. Their fans are the reason why they are getting profits.

If we are talking about local leagues or small leagues, maybe there are a few cases of game-fixing but it's not 80%. That was too much.
I too believe most big games have big money behind. And surly most of the bookie would try to buy the players as well. But again now players are more concerned about their reputation and career they would like to stay clean and neutral because sooner of later the secret is out.

Oh, what are you talking about and fantasizing!? In Lithuania, it is just doing another, scheduled inspection of the railway tracks. Yes, it doesn't block anything. You just have to wait and be patient! And you have already fantasized about something incomprehensible! Smiley And what prevents "great Russia" from providing its territories by sea, by planes? Russia is the most powerful country and everyone envy her! How did the ruble get stronger? The dollar is already jealous! And the Americans too! Smiley Alaska will soon be taken away from the USA! Well, it's still great! Why are you so worried about some kind of NATO? They don’t even have analogues that have no weapons, a non-replaceable leader and the strongest currency, such as the ruble, in service?!
And the Lithuanians are slowly checking sleeper after sleeper Smiley
I think this wheat war crisis is pure propaganda and nothing is going to happen any time sooner.
Most of the south Asian countries are agricultural countries. And having a less wheat is impossible thing. So I hope - lets for the time concentrate on achieving financial freedom.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: July 08, 2022, 09:40:06 PM

Yes, that is indeed true and it is been already proved but as you said, it really takes some courage for that habit to change into something positive. However, that 90 days is already long enough to make a new habit. There's a new study that it only needs 2 months or 66 days approximately to change that habit. Nevertheless, days won't be counted if that certain person is ready to change his/her routine for good and also, it would really help if he or she will take a safe distance to these activities as well as friends or family that's also into gambling.
The courage comes from within. It is hard to leave the bad habit though they are easy to adopt.
But once you decide - stick to the your goal and have a go getter attitude. I hope once a person makes up his mind and strive for it there is no stopping at all
796  Economy / Economics / Re: You win or you learn. on: July 08, 2022, 09:37:37 PM
Perhaps it is more interesting and more fun to live this way, but I try not to repeat the mistakes Smiley it is remembered much more often, and more often it protects us from repeated wrong steps. On the other hand, if you live 40-50 years without a negative experience, then a minimal problem will simply kill such a person. It's like falling in childhood - we remember that falling is painful, bumps, abrasions, blood. And each time we try to better control our movement, because otherwise we will get pain again. Here, the truth is an example from physical experiences, financial losses are mental anguish Smiley
Every second day I make the same mistake and think that I am not going to make the same mistake. And I do it again.
Life is a lesson every second day - but I wish and hope that God do not put me in the test which I am unable to bear.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 08, 2022, 09:34:30 PM
That is applicable if the Casino has no bet limit  Grin.  Even with unlimited resources, if the Casino implements a bet limit, the Martingale method is automatically doomed.  The reason for that is, the bet limit forbid a player to bet beyond a certain amount, and with the martingale strategy with a scenario of long series of a red streak, the bet will hit the cap which unable it to recover the lost amount with 1 win.

No. You're wrong.
As i said above the main problem with your balance amount. It must be endless to fulfill matingale probability. Otherwise you at risk to lose everything and not to achieve victory (winning outcome). Because Martingale doesn't promise that winning bet will be after 10-100-1000 bets. It can be after 1 000 000 bets. So you need endless resources.
I think gambling is for those who have lust for money and luck side them . . . I am not sure if all the gamblers are happy and satisfied with their money.
However people want to have money - whatever the way is they hardly care. But life, fun entertainment and of course the gambling is for big bags. Poor are to worry about their paychecks and bank accounts.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 08, 2022, 09:28:11 PM

I cannot really say if that's somehow true but who knows, right? I just think that your figure is quite high considering that it is a big game, I think it's just 40% or lower than that but that specific games doesn't much require crowd or large group of spectators because rigging big leagues or big games is really risky for them as they know that there would be lots of organizations who will watch it. That said, bets on that specific game are also soaring high, so that's why they can't just risk their motive with that kind of games.
The recent match between India and England. I think that match was fixed.
Both the team looked so lousy on the field. And rather it appeared England is going to win the match very easily and the end was different all together.

Sri Lanka Women vs India Women

The India women's tour of Sri Lanka has been a successful one. India lost one T20 match and won all the matches easily. India has good similarities between the men's team and the women's team. Both teams are ahead in cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest run for the team in the last match. Pooja Vastrakar and Shafali Verma also gave good support by scoring 56 and 49 runs. As a result, India won by 39 runs and that was the final match between Sri Lanka Women vs India Women in this tour.
Indian women team did well in this tour. However it was expected that SriLanka would have performed better on the home ground.
But India took the lead. But it is great seeing women playing on the fields and giving the best they can.

Well, i have observed this from my neighborhood, that most of them have turned into gamblers. Maybe heredity still counts as whatever the tree, so is the fruit. But having an environment that is full of gamblers may also have a big effect on the young ones. It's like their young minds have been motivated that gambling can make them rich, or the reason that they don't struggles in life. However, when they grow old and mature, they will eventually discover the real effects of gambling, and its their choice whether to do the same or just get rid of gambling.

Me as well, my neighbor turned their house into a small mahjong place wherein most of them are the players and other of my neighbors as well. I remember a time that a police came to their house but due to the influence of the owner in the compound, police turn around and left. It is prohibited to play a local gambling without a permit and license from the government, but people will still play since there will be a chance that they will get more money when they win. Environment do affects a person behavior and also what will he about to do in his life in the future, but that doesn't mean be cannot be change, gambling addiction doesn't run in the blood.
Environment do affect. But the OP is about the transfer of gambling from parents to kids - which is not possible - because not all the kids become gamblers if the parents are gamblers. However it is also one of the possibility that gamblers kids refuse to gamble incase they dislike gambling.
