781  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: rpietila's Crypto Kingdom game is a scam, heavily in debt. Do not deposit funds. on: April 29, 2017, 04:42:07 AM
Haven't been around for a couple years but this is certainly an interesting turn of events. Who would have thought.

There seems to have been 2 Bitz. A Bitz and a BitzCoin

Bitz ANN

Both have been dead for at least a year.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Random Lightning Network question on: April 29, 2017, 02:43:12 AM
I haven't looked into LN deeply (still trying to sort out all the pros/cons about segwit) so can't answer with any solid details. Might be some good info in here https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/56ehi1/fractional_reserve_on_lightning_network/

Course you need to sort out all the FUD and comments from those with ulterior motives.

Couple more i haven't read yet myself
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4f17bd/are_we_opening_up_bitcoin_for_fractional_reserve/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5kwdsq/the_bitcoin_lightning_network_all_you_need_to_know/

Basically it appears that LN and bitcoin itself no. But that's not to stop some company doing it using LN. Which they could pretty much do now anyway.

785  Other / Meta / Re: Where are you 'Iamnotback'? on: April 29, 2017, 12:36:14 AM
AFAIK he's permabanned for repeated streaks of trolling, breaking the 24 hour bump rule (consecutive posting) and ban evasion. If you have other questions related to it, ask.

Please quote his troll posts if possible. This is interesting Smiley

You could just go read some of those last few posts. Keep in mind this is a guy that at one point asked the mods to ban or disable his account to make him stay away. I think that was the anonymint one. Then he came back later with I think at least one other account prior to the iamnotback though I can't remember what that one was as it was well over a year ago. He has some inciteful things to say at times if you can strip away all the nutty stuff but much of the time he just comes across as a raving nutcase. Some of the stuff he's said recently, like how bitcoin was about to crash (I think it was over a week ago), how segwit had been defeated on BTC and LTC, just makes it hard to take him seriously and in the case of the LTC talk, like he was simply trying to pump LTC for his benefit

Edit: Had a look. This was one of his other accounts after he had them shut down anonymint.

786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Graveyard or do you know what happenend to this coins? on: April 29, 2017, 12:18:50 AM
I'm certainly not going to do your work for you to list the status of all those. But from looking through the list, I see a lot that are completely dead, some that haven't had anything happen to them for a couple years at least but the bag holders are keeping it limping along with dreams of the dev actually doing something, and others that have been relaunched in some fashion.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's wrong with all the green rise of altcoin today? on: April 28, 2017, 06:41:30 AM
Back when I first started hearing the "alt coins drop in price when BTC rises" stuff, it was after the first BTC pump. People would take money out of ALTs to put into BTC. A year after BTC reached it's first all time high, it was down around the 220 mark and stayed around that level (220-300 or so) for pretty much all of 2015. I think people learned their lesson that diversifying is a far better idea.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Crypto Portfolio. Will I be able to Retire in 5 years? on: April 27, 2017, 06:57:45 AM
Potcoin? Steem? No BTC? Really? In the past 4 years, what coins have doubled in value every year and maintained that (which is what I think you would need to happen). Take bitcoin. It hit a high around the current price in 2014. A year later is was down to around the $200 mark for almost a year and then started climbing again to where it is now. Cyrpto is not like "real world" investments and you can't treat it like that. So no, not a chance in hell of you achieving your goal. Unless, the world turns to hell and people turn to Crypto. But somehow I think that if the world would turn to hell, most wouldn't even have electricity and/or the internet so not like they could use it anyway.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens at end of the PoS? on: April 25, 2017, 11:50:13 AM
Most PoS coins are only mined for a short period at the start. After that they go pure PoS forever. Meaning, there is no cap on the number of coins that the coin will generate.

Why owns 51% is whoever owns 51% of the coins. Taking control of a PoS coins is not the same as a POW coin though. Each PoS method is different in that aspect which you'll need to research.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading of LTC, ETC and other altcoins might be halted in China on: April 25, 2017, 11:46:42 AM
The more important aspects of that are these:

"Note: the authenticity of the source is still uncertain and the story will be updated constantly. More could be found on 8btc forum"

and

"The report has not citied any source to support the above claims."
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - NAVTECH NOW DECENTRALIZED! on: April 25, 2017, 04:35:50 AM

the price is 3k going up again ..... exactly when the dev announced that is coming back to work again !!!!
Cause the pumpers were buying slowly the previous several weeks when the coin was flat lined at around 1300. Looks like they were accumulating some XST since the start of the month with it around the same price. hmmmm.. Who was in both those coins? lol
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | update v1.3.2.4 on: May 21, 2015, 08:36:57 AM
any efforts right now will be wasted. i dont know how many times i have to repeat myself: only morons and gamblers are going to see an incomplete project in a vast ocean of scams as a good investment. we may pick up 1 or 2 people every week, but the vast majority of people see no benefit in buying SDC right now.

Why? Why would adding things like the market make one bit of difference to a CURRENCY's long term prospects. Right now, the coin is "done" and anything else is just "stuff" built on top of it. It's an anonymous currency that can be used by the masses. Things like the market are only going to create a bump in the price and will simply be home for mostly things like SilkRoad. The masses won't care about those things, they're going to want a coin they can use to buy real things with simply and fast. The coin is ready to do that now without any "fluff". 99% of the coins out now will always be "failures" because they have no plan or effort for adoption. How many faucets are there for SDC right now? How many gambling sites and/or games can you use SDC on? That's just basic crypto stuff and SDC has pretty much none of that. Until people stop waiting for more "stuff" and actually start getting it adopted, it's never going to be more than just another coin to trade on exchanges. The coin doesn't need investors, it needs adoption.

Are you claiming faucets, games, and gambling make coins? Half of the coins out there have these things, but I wouldn't go about claiming those to be successful. In my opinion, for a coin to be successful it needs to have it's own ecosystem. When the market is released and the SDK is put together, then we can see this come to fruition.

That's not what I said. Reread it.

You claim we need adoption. I claim that adoption will come as more things are released. Pushing for adoption too early can be dangerous. Satoshi warned against it with bitcoin and I agree with that. Just let things develop naturally. No need to force anything on this baby coin.

The thing is, the project will never really be done. Going back and reading stuff shortly after the ShadowSend2 release, it appears that it's not the final version and that there will be a ShadowSend3 and maybe even 4. There will always be things that can be added and updated. Taking a "if we build it they will come" approach rarely works and I've been involved in a number of projects outside this realm that have proved that time and time again. At it's core, SDC is a currency meant to buy and sell things. That's "done" and so there's no reason for there not to be an effort for more adoption and real world use. Adoption is a slow process and should be constantly ongoing.

As for waiting for the marketplace, NXT has a marketplace. I haven't got myself back up to speed on that project but it seems to have had little effect on that coins adoption. Maybe it's too limited or something, as I said I haven't got back up to speed on that coin. At least from a price standpoint, it's around 3700 now and late last year when I was trading it, it was around the 5000-6000 mark. So really, thinking that the market will somehow change the coins adoption/popularity appears to be just based in wishful thinking.

At a quick glance, the nxt marketplace requires a seperate software download and only has games, music, and ebooks as categories. It also doesn't offer the same anonymity as sdc.

I had a look at that site as well.  However, today I finally got all the NXT blockchain downloaded and had a look around. There's a marketplace built into the wallet with 671 products for sale. A heck of a lot of domains for sale. Services like FB likes, some physical products, steam keys for games etc. It says there's been 759 purchases to date but not sure where they all are. Someone sold something like 54 copies of some their music for 99 NXT a pop. Some t-shirts have been sold. There's some drugs for sale but didn't see any sales. Funniest one I think was someone bought "how to make 1kg of TNT" info. lol

Overall, not very encouraging but not sure how long it's been out. Usability isn't all that great but I find that with any of these browser based interfaces like NXT, Counterparty etc.

Because of your constant trolling, your credibility here is close to zero.

I quickly browsed your post history, but couldn't find the post where you claim to have problems with the wallet that was downloaded from the link that Erok posted, could you post that link here? If that happened, you'd still need to prove that Erok's post was modified after this theft happened, before you can claim to have any kind of proof of him doing anything.

There is a post that has a different link to an infected wallet.  Here is the quote from Viper1 that shows the link.  The post is not from Erok but Erok could of re-quoted this infected post.  Not sure.

Or Erok downloaded it and is infected with that guy having access to his account now just as what's happened to lawgicc. "lawgicc" (the virus guy must have logged into his account) posted in another thread with an infected link as well lol

so, is erok from aboutshadow team or what?

Did you actually pay attention to all the posts about this topic? There's a DIFFERENT post that looks the same as that one that has the bad link in it, not the Erok one.

i downloaded from erok's post

where is the bad link, Show me?

found those exact csrss.exe files with SDC logos in my local/temp folder...

Since csrss.exe is an actual windows thing, virus guys will often name their stuff the same thing so people won't notice.

Erok quoted the guy that posted the swapped link to the virus. It wasn't Erok. I posted the original post with the bad link above.

No...he didnt. Erok reposted Rynomasters post.

the same day my coins go bye bye. Coincidence?

Yeah, I edited what I posted. As I said though, there's a different post that has the bad link in it.

Allrighty.. Just going to post this here and an admin can delete it later I guess.... Here's a post with what I assume is an infected download in it...

[edit] That guy was busy posting virus links for a bunch of things all over the place it appears.
