CoinBr's fees are getting lowered on November 1st.
Account management fee : 0.019 BTC monthly.
BTC withdrawals and asset transfers : 0.02 BTC fee

I agree it was pretty high if you were only interested in one stock.
This is interesting.

It stil annoys me having to pay if they don't guarantee you anything, but if the price is so low it is at least reasonable, I could accept that, given the alternatives.

Openly bearish sentiment in the AM thread? Sounds like the time to buy
Put your money where your mouth is.

Don't expect repeat customers when they are fucked with ROI. If they lose money they will not buy again. Easy stuff.
Wrong.
The numbers were plain and simple, but those customers refused to do some math and blindly bought random stuff.
We're not talking about dvd players, mind, we're talking about "devices that create money", so there's really NO excuse not to do your math and see if it will be profitable.
This has two implications:
1. if they've lost money, it's entirely their own fault
2. since they are so brain-dead, they'll likely come back anyway, they might not even realise they have lost money (they didn't check before, likely they aren't checking now nor they will later)
784  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox BTC withdraw gone missing, MtGox claim its in the blockchain on: October 30, 2013, 11:49:28 AM
We are very sorry that it took so long but please understand that Bitcoin transaction confirmations are not under our control.
Much lol, it's things like that that make me think that outlawing lying might make sense...
785  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 30, 2013, 11:24:34 AM
Anyway it's not possible to prevent colored coins from being implemented, there's much interest and they'll hopefully be sooner or later, so it's again even more irrelevant to worry about that.

This however I agree with. It's going to happen one way or the other. However I would prefer it to happen later when Bitcoin is further established and entrenched within the economic sphere rather than sooner at Bitcoin's current relatively early state of existence.
Glad we agree on what's going to happen anyway, even if we didn't agree about the other details : )

No sovereign government will give up their right to print money.
it's sad how many people fail to read the first post, let alone the whole thread...
787  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ukyo G.ASICMINER-PT fraud. on: October 29, 2013, 04:30:30 PM
Since I've been saying over and over since July that Bitfunder was crap, may I and say "I told you", now?
788  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which country might switch to BTC? on: October 29, 2013, 03:01:32 PM
But their banks still use fraction reserve banking, right ? So whats the difference if these countries have own currency or not  Huh
And...?
You can use fractional reserve even with bitcoins, or with apples and oranges, for that matter...
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which country might switch to BTC? on: October 29, 2013, 01:54:30 PM
There's been a lot of talk about Argentina for example, but I know next to nothing about them.
There's a lot of talk about Argentina because they have very strict dictatorial policies about money, so some people are starting to use Bitcoin: quite the opposite of what you were seeking.

but some countries with less stable economies might.
Why and how should they do that?

How - if they already have an unstable economy, chances are they aren't skilled enough for the task, let alone do something completely new!

Why - what would they gain by accepting bitcoins, as opposite to accepting dollars?
790  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 29, 2013, 01:49:51 PM
I have some fears that polluting the blockchain with asset management may put bitcoin as a whole at risk.
Why and how?

Regulators might try to argue that each bitcoin client is a security exchange.
And what could they do about that, exactly?

Don't encourage him, man.
I'm not sure he's trolling, actually I think he isn't, that's why I'm answering Wink

And what could they do about that, exactly?

They wouldnt be able to stop everyone from installing it obviously, but the damage that could be done to bitcoin if just running the bitcoin client is deemed illegal is enormous.
Im not looking forward being put at risk of breaking laws from just about every regulator in the world and Id rather not risk finding out what exactly it is they could do.
Irrelevant: they might decide to do anything for any random reason, so we shouldn't really care about what they "might" do.
Anyway it's not possible to prevent colored coins from being implemented, there's much interest and they'll hopefully be sooner or later, so it's again even more irrelevant to worry about that.

793  Economy / Economics / Re: the effects of fractional reserve on bitcoins value on: October 29, 2013, 12:37:12 PM
Please understand that the government is a form of regulation created by the free market.
The government was not thrust upon mankind by aliens, it didn't instantly materialize from a Bureaucratic Big Bang -- it is the net result of people, and the free market, trying to regulate themselves.  It happened to be so fabulously adaptive & successful from the evolutionary & socio-Darwinian perspectives, that it is now pandemic.
Way to go, Invisible Hand.

The free market created fractional reserve banking -- it was created when the first goldsmith/money changer realized that he could write more IOUs than he had gold in his vault.  A no-brainer, really.

Fractional reserve banking predates any form of regulation, especially government.
For the wikipedos & men who love them: "Fractional-reserve banking predates the existence of governmental monetary authorities and originated many centuries ago in bankers' realization that generally not all depositors demand payment at the same time.[4]" --wikip.

Understand what it is you're against before speaking out against it, pl0x.
This post is very well written and thought, thank you : )

there's still 131,000 shares outside of Havelock. What's happening to those shares? I am not seeing panic selling on the auctions forum here. Are there other major BTC boards or forums where people trade BTC stock?
You could look at the direct shares list to know if they are being aggregated somewhere or not (I guess not).
I guess most people who still have some shares are in "wait and see" mode.

Stop asking for a refund in case of crash, since obviously they'll never ever ever accept such a thing, and focus on actually getting your money back, since you have some chances of winning that.

For a list of qualified shady accountants in your area, please contact your local Mafia representative.
This provokes many lols.
797  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Microsoft Product Keys on: October 28, 2013, 03:24:12 PM
Can I buy a key?  My interest would be in finding out how you would react if I told you I intended not to use the software (other than to test the key in a throwaway VM), but to publish the key in this thread, and then fill out a report at microsoft.com/piracy with a link back to this thread.  Given that, how much for an Office 2013 key and what bitcoin address should I pay? Smiley

I would then tell you the following: You have done incriminated yourself as much as I have, and will be just as guilty. So, for future reference this post shall be screen captured Smiley

But, feel free to send .15 to 1EwCHGXiTYotCAirxB7Ehxzc4ASTt6MyMM. You will receive a link to your ISO and your activation key on the 3rd confirmation.

OK, I sent it!
I appreciate you're doing this, thank you : )

All 6 posts about MtGox - and how great they are.

Fuck off, MtGox sock puppets ...
Thank you for pointing this out.
Now I ignored both of them.

I feel however, ideally, we should get some temporary transfer rights
Ideally you wouldn't get screwed in the first place.
Since bitfunder is already screwing you, you should already know you're quite far from ideal.
