781  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Block Eruptor USB Overclocked on: December 17, 2013, 11:39:20 PM
I took one of mine and changed the timing to
Quote
--icarus-options 115200:2:2 --icarus-timing 2.0=75
Now it's averaging about 520Mh/s
Stock hardware.

Edit: Five of them are running at 500-550 Mh/s.  Hardware errors are still in acceptable ranges.

Is that according to the pool you're using or the mining software?
782  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: December 17, 2013, 10:16:36 PM
You seem to be missing an important point. Drillbit support is not part of the standard cgminer release, I am quite sure it could have been if you sent Kano a board to develop on. Nevertheless, the Drillbit devs took it upon themselves to fork cgminer and patch it for Drillbit boards, but they didn't do it properly, there are issues with libusb disconnects, if Drillbit requires a certain version or configuration of libusb then that should have been done, it is not up to the cgminer devs, trying to deflect the blame back to them for managing problems in the Drillbit fork of the code is rather childish.

I think "irk" would be a more appropriate alias.   Shocked

If you were paying attention to the appropriate forum you would have seen this thread: http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=235.0

I have read the thread many times, stop trying to deflect the blame back onto the cgminer devs for code problems with a non-supported product.

I'm not deflecting blame, I'm nicely trying to tell you to go use the other damn forum where you may actually get a response!!  It's really not that difficult of a concept.

784  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: December 17, 2013, 07:50:32 AM
So after 5 hrs, my "overclocked" cub has climbed to 33.9 gh/s (87.21% efficiency), while my standard/low clocked cube is operating at 31.6 gh/s (96.14% efficiency).

Huh Any idea why it won't get anywhere near the 38 gh/s??  voltages all test out correctly too.  Can Cubes be too cold?  the outer case is cold, and the air exiting it is pretty cool as well (feeding it freezing air from a window).

I'm also unable to break 95% efficiency on the cube, any tips??

Take it out of its case and put another fan on it.  I run over 38.2gh/s on both of my 2 cubes.
785  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Site! MineCTRL - Mining Dashboard on: December 17, 2013, 03:58:12 AM
Thanks for the heads up on this!  I personally reached out to them two months ago when I was testing out different pools and apis for the this project, but I didn't actually state that I was a dev....or mention mineCTRL... in hindsight, I suck. I'll reconnect with them this week and go from there!

Awesome, hopefully they give you guys access!!
786  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: December 16, 2013, 09:31:37 PM
I have seen at least half a dozen reports of people with these USB disconnects on the 8 boards.  Anyone closer to a solution? (no it's not the cable or hub)

Seriously... it's been discussed to death in the Drillbit forums.  They know about it... it looks like some USB transfer issues that were supposedly fixed in CGMiner 3.8.1, but seem to have cropped back up in 3.8.4.  There's even C code snippets on some of the threads pointing out where the problem should be.  You'll get a better idea about it talking directly to the engineers and developers for Drillbit over there than you will in the generic Group Buy thread here.
The people who bought from this thread have a right to know there are issues and the answers. I am not talking about some configuration issue, but a bug in the product which many users have reported. It's not my fault that the thread was in group buys and not custom hardware. I fail to see why something important has to be buried in the corner of a tiny product specific forum. I can't see any thread about the USB timeout problem over there, so I guess the issue is buried in some other thread.

It has been stated many, many times that specifics will be discussed on the drillbit forum.  Yes, it is in a thread over there.  Of course you're free to post here, but don't expect an answer.
787  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Overclocking a USB ASIC on: December 14, 2013, 01:12:26 AM
Or you can try to find a Drillbit USB and hit 3gh/s with no mods needed.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crapsy - still a train wreck after all of this time :( - fix this dump will you. on: December 13, 2013, 11:21:50 PM
I already posted that. first time happening to me today, so still 1000% improvement.
had over 50 successfull trades today, all the deposits and withdrawals worked fine all of the time. can't say that about other days in the past weeks.

Troll...
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crapsy - still a train wreck after all of this time :( - fix this dump will you. on: December 13, 2013, 10:42:02 PM
wow, all the deposits I made today came in quickly. trades and withdrawals all went smooth.

seems like a 1000% improvement to last week!

Give it a few minutes, it'll go back to molasses speed...

what about coinex.pw are they any good?

No traffic...not worth trading there IMO.

But guys, they're adding new servers "soon"...   Roll Eyes

After some back and forth with ghash.io (cex.io) they did mention they are able to provide an API for mining to developers at their discretion.

Maybe you could reach out to them (via support on cex.io) and try to get access?  You'll need to be specific that it is not their public API rather their mining API for ghash.io as they were initially confused.

Hi,

Thank you for your request.

We do have an API live report for mining information.

This information can be accessed, and is available for developers to use upon request, at our discrepancy.

Let us know if we can assist you with anything else.

Thank You

Sorry guys, it's been an insane week but I do plan on getting this started very soon!  Looks like quite a few of you would find it helpful!

Uh, definitely watching.  If you need any project management help give me a shout but I'm sure you've got that covered at this point.
795  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Open Hardware Project] Hive & Wasp - Prototypes Coming in December 2013 on: December 12, 2013, 11:17:51 PM
I saw a mention of BA and I hope that's not alluding to using BlackArrow for ANYTHING to do with this project.  If you want to know why I'm sure bobsag has some stories to share.

Also, what exactly does this $100 membership get you?  Any why doesn't your website you advertised work?
796  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: December 12, 2013, 11:08:53 PM
I tried to do as you said and nothing changes, only one LED is on and I have not heard any clicks. This is the power supply (fal600typ)

Is the fan plugged in correctly?  When the fan is unplugged only one of the green lights will light up and the asic will not hash.
797  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Black Arrow Software real or fake? on: December 12, 2013, 06:31:21 PM
Warning.

I suggest you all take a look at the Drillbit thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=266235.msg3898239#msg3898239

BlackArrow assembled the boards and look where we are today...having MAJOR issues requiring repair.  Beware.
798  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: December 12, 2013, 05:56:31 AM

Yeah sorry to hear about your problems...if it is any consolation I did the "forced upgrade" to a monarchs route ...have 900gh supposedly coming in Jan/Feb (yeah right) so at 8k in BFL it likely would not have mattered anyway imho.....I'm also gonna be in your boat soon we can bail $$$ into the Sea together......I doubt that BFL will get anything out to me before middle of March at the earliest (I was an early monarch order) and when the stuff does arrive (the 300gh a bit later I imagine) it will likely be 400gh in reality instead of 600gh monarch and too little too late..with the usual BFL 'it is not our fault and your risk" arguments....

so don't feel too bad a brick "now" or a brick "later" I'll meet you in the same rowboat soon enough imho

not sure if this helps but from past BFL issues it is likely correct

I'm going to get delivery asap and start mining and ebay them. Seems people are out of their mind for gear on ebay so who am I to argue. I guess it will be me who is going to have to deal with the whole chargeback issue perhaps..... my how the worm turns.

Yea man, you'll get good $ on ebay.  I haven't had any chargebacks on 30+ transactions on USB's...

I'd take one off your hands but you're better off on ebay.   Grin
799  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: December 12, 2013, 05:26:57 AM
Has anyone taken their out of the case in order to keep it running cooler?

I took mine out of the case and I'm getting ~400mh/s per cube increased.  The board with the heatsink nearest to the case has numbers on par with the rest of the boards now.   Does anyone else notice their end board hashes slower?
