7861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is still Ok to invest in Etherium on: April 30, 2018, 01:42:40 PM
Every now and then I feel the need to comment about Ethereum. First to say I was never a supporter, and am still not one, but have now seen that I no longer feel harsh feelings for the project. It has really moved on from 2016 and the scandal of the DAO, so much so that it will success on the strength of its product. I still do not think it has a very bright future in 10 years, but for the next couple of years, for sure. I bought a bit and am happily holding. Would still buy some now if I had the cash.
7862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: seling or holding your altcoin ? on: April 30, 2018, 01:13:53 PM
Selling for short term trade and holding for long term investments may depends on the performance of the altcoins. For a safer reasons it is better to divide it into two options to prevent FUD,FOMO and regrets like 50 percent sell and 50 percent hold. Due to its volatility this is the better strategy to win with your altcoins but sell what you can afford to lose and hold what you can afford to wait.

Do not bother with complicated strategies, I think what you say is an example of keeping it simple.

1. Set the amount you are willing to lose. This is your all time stop loss.
2. Set the amount you want to gain. For me, most alts are 100%. Set sell order at 2x the price you want or whatever x the price you need the gain. Then sell everything and hold all the remainders. Automatic hold.
7863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: We as a community must boycott Coinmarketcap.com on: April 30, 2018, 07:38:31 AM
This is called decentralization in a sense, or democracy of choice. Boycott coinmarketcap is not necessary as long as many other sources as you mentioned and even others are taken into account. Bear in mind in China and Russia also people use other sources because of language and location, not everyone is using coinmarketcap as you think and not every traffic is counted in the internet spaces we are accustomed to.
7864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bearish trend is over on: April 29, 2018, 05:55:27 AM
The trigger is all about the mass buy walls being created as bitcoin starts overcoming its resistance really. People now see the opportunity to buy more and profit themselves form this. I mean it would be bad idea if no one is getting into it right now as they will miss their so called profit train in the future!

This is just past reporting itself and people do conclude the future depending upon that and hence more and more buy walls are being created. The market is smooth for now, no one is panic selling and mostly buying. Bull trend is going to bigger the same way we had bearish trend!

Yes, the buy walls were seen all the way from tha 1k spike to 8000 a few weeks back, everyone saw the massive buy orders stack up and it was impossible to resist, just as the sell walls were impossible to resist when supposed Mt Gox trustee sold everything off. It is definitely not a bad idea to buy into it now even though the dip has passed. Anything below 10k is well below the expectations for most of us and I would be buying well into 12-13000.

Smooth market smooth seas ahead!
7865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Greed and crypto !! on: April 28, 2018, 08:29:02 PM
I feel that i never have enough coins. To day i just bought another batch with Icon (ICX) i am not only bullish on ICX but wish i had more of WAN,VEN,ONT,NAV,OMG and EOS.

Do you guys feel the same thirst/hunger to buy/add more fiat to the crypto world. And when is enough ?

Because of the long downtreand we have been withness to now. Do i start to be positive to what i see right now. And want to take a loan in the bank 50k to buy more of the coins that i have mantion in this thread. The plan is to make 2-3x and sell some and pay back the loan. I know this sounds crazy to most of you and i know it is.

Positive and negative comments are all welcome in this thread. Thanks

I totally get you so I will not say you are an idiot (do not care if others do). I will say that the good time to buy is always during dips, which I try to do as much as I can when the market is red. But I suppose buying now is not such a big mistake either, since most of the coins you mentioned are still below their all time highs. Also, if you are a holder for years, then you need not worry. Just buy and accumulate and believe in your own decisions. Do not buy hype, buy what you believe.
7866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano going to the moon! on: April 28, 2018, 08:10:02 PM
it's one of project that i kept looking for everyday to gain profit.
from my trading perspective,it will explode and it may reachs its ATH this year.
but i do not dare to hold it for a while because it does not has any product yet and it lacks compared to other project.
truth to be told, the reason why this project kept increasing because people liked the CEO instead of the project itself.
and a lot of people shilling it.

It also interested me a lot last year, but I admit that I was drawn to it during a time when I also linked projects with the founders/owners, in this case it happened with Cardano. I was also eventually put off by the fact that it was highly shilled, as you say. Then again, I did buy into Verge precisely because of the shilling, and so far it has resulted in some decent gains. Maybe identifying the good shill is a skill in itself!

But on Cardano itself, this is the problem you point,,, the lack of proper product to use.
7867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Upcoming Airdrops and Coin Burns - which coins can x5? on: April 28, 2018, 07:37:30 PM
Good call on altcoins like Syscoin. We know that if exchanges already will not give it out then people have no choice but to hold it in their own wallets, but just watch out you do not get caught by buying at the end of the demand. All these types of drops definitely increase in price, as well as tokens with dividends. This is not exactly airdrop but most of these types of coins give out dividends and experience slight pump before the giveout date.
7868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New altcoin. DOX COOP- Digital Objects - Traditional Banking - Blockchain on: April 28, 2018, 03:14:59 PM
Trust me guys, not to pour rain on your parade but you are not the world's first to do this or to try to do this. Almost everyone is claiming to be the first in the world, why not just show us what you can do and let us be the judge?

Need more information on your "smart mining" concepts first. Basically one question: why should we switch to something no one is using yet?

Also, St Lucia crypto friendly? First time I have heard of this. Lack of crypto regulations does not necessarily mean crypto friendly by the way.

7869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS next on coinbase? on: April 28, 2018, 01:42:38 PM
Recently I have been thinking that its going to be EOS to be next listed on coinbase. A huge mining company are raising 100million to get a huge stake in Eos once they move on to their own blockchain. Another huge exchange is also opening its own dedicated Eos driven decentralised exchange which is also super bullish!

Coinbase have also come out and said they do supports ERC20 tokens, they have also announced new coons will be listed this year. Im getting a strong feeling one of the coins will be EOS! (I must add that there is something about broc Pearce and his connection to tether that gives me a seed of doubt)

I do not really have any special feelings for these types of tokens. EOS especially people seem to have forgotten how they ran a terribly unfair ICO that just took advantage of a lot of people and only gave benefits to the rich whales. But I can say that if it is listed on Coinbase, then it means that your token at least should have a larger shelf life since Coinbase is all under the eyes of US government. Just do not forget your tax responsibilities. I cannot buy at Coinbase anyway.
7870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best way to earn money on: April 28, 2018, 08:38:57 AM
The best way to earn money is through ICO investing, one just need to have better success rate, not all the project one invested in is going to succeed, but if out of every five project 3 is doing well, like giving 5X to 10X return and flipping it into another project you will be greatly fine.

Wow, please stop spreading this kind of crap into the forum. If the best way to earn money is to invest into "success rate ICOs" then everybody will have an easy time, let us all go home rich and never work hard anymore.

Crypto is not easy, making money is not easy. Get this into your head guys, please. The sooner you see crypto and take it more seriously, the better for your expectations and your health.
7871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto going strong! on: April 27, 2018, 05:24:48 PM
There is a lovely period of time. But do not allow yourselves to rest, opposite. Work work work. to get some profit now while its green

I think there is no period to work less hard or less seriously, but anyway I agree that crypto should always present opportunities that should be taken and not ignored. Personally, this means that I always work extra hard during dips (to earn more crypto when they are cheap versus fiat). Prices going green means I earn less, but since alts are still far from old ATHs, it is always good for me. Buy and earn forever as a holder!
7872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH worth buying now or wait? on: April 27, 2018, 08:27:37 AM
I do not know if I can call myself a genius or lucky, but I bought about 25% of my ETH when it was below $450 recently last month, and managed to trigger all of my sell orders on $700. And with all of that extra money I bought back that same balance all into ETH at $620 yesterday, and today it looks like it is climbing back towards $700. Slowly, but surely. It is not much in terms of total fiat but to make an extra 10% (if I am right about 700) is a great day for me.
7873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The secret of Ripple’s success on: April 26, 2018, 08:40:09 PM
I am not sure now we can say any of those things were exactly secrets. What is really secret and not good is why and how the developers can contain so much of the supply and release as and when they require, with almost no transparency about those plans. What is also secret is how the banks signing up to use the technology have any stake in the XRP token, if at all.

Not good secrets to have, no?
7874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO short time investment on: April 26, 2018, 06:42:23 AM
Not a good strategy. You can never tell the performance of ICO tokens any more. Sometimes the free airdrops can even perform better than huge ICOs, particularly because this is the exact strategy everybody tries to perform. The listings are controlled, and the pricing of these by big whales and even bounty hunters. Beware of ICOs that do not sell out sometimes, developers can dump their tokens and cause price crashes.
7875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Correction incoming? on: April 25, 2018, 08:38:18 PM
in my opinion it's not a correction, it's just a stabilization phase, in this week the market growth with an huge pump, almost every coin was having nice gains, it was almost like dicember but it was not health for this market, we need a costant stable growth instead of these big pumps made by speculators

I think you are right that this is a stabilization phase, which started at least a month ago for Bitcoin (not for altcoins), but this cannot be seen as not a correction. It definitely was a huge pump, so it is perfectly natural that corrections should happen, and as you can see, the slow climb is starting again. Bitcoin is back above 9k, ETH is back above 620, and most altcoins are trimming losses from 20% to 10% now in past 24 hour period.

Healthy for the market, I definitely approve.
7876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Portfolio doubled in 3 weeks. on: April 24, 2018, 04:57:48 PM
It is nice to see continuous recovery the past several weeks.  Within the past 4.5 months, my portfolio dove down losing more than 75% its value from ATH to the low around April 4.  Since then, it went up and doubled...and while it is still less than 50% my ATH, it is an encouraging sight.

Hope this trend continues.  BTW, I am aware things will continue to oscillate (up and down) but as along as the general trend is upwards it is good. Smiley

What's your story?

The same happened to me and the same happened to most of us, I believe. However, this was the second time for me actually as I also experienced the same from buying in middle of 2017 and experiencing alt losses all the way to December, and then doubling after that and then slowly reaching break even, before slightly profiting. I had to wait six months then. I only needed to wait 2 or 3 months this time. Still break even overall from the 2nd time, thanks to Verge profits. But slooooowly going to green.
7877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: why facebook and twitter are too low on: April 24, 2018, 03:43:14 PM
I think it depends on the target of the project and there are more investors in this forum than on social medias. And it is easier to do the job through social medias than making good quality post in this forum. You have to think of something that can be beneficial on this forum by your own words and understanding so I think it would be fair enough to have greater allocation on signature campaigns than on social media campaigns.

The more I think about it, the more I believe social media followers are not true investors in crypto. I always believed they were low quality but after now reading all the complaints and whining, I see that is mostly coming from bounty hunters, and people looking for free coins and HYIP participants. The actual investors do not care because their sources have always been outside of social media. Like you said, even on this forum you find most of them rather than on FB and Twitter.
7878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: can eth reach over 700 on: April 24, 2018, 07:01:11 AM
Actually if viewed from the growth, should Ethereum (ETH) able to compete with Bitcoin (BTC) price in the future. Moreover, many factors have now become important support in the scope of Ethereum.
but for the next 30 days I think ETH can reach 700, although Ethereum has not been able to become a major competitor of Bitcoin in the value of save and exchange rate (as Asset).

It has always been trying to compete with Bitcoin, but it seems to lose momentum every time it reaches a high. Looks like it will push higher on now, moving so quickly from 400 to now 650, very likely to continue past 700 and maybe even 800 before April is over. It will always be a competitor of course, but will never reach Bitcoin's price in many years, if ever at all. But let us see what happens with Proof of Stake.
7879  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex is automatically selling my coins on: April 23, 2018, 06:59:17 PM
1) How do I prevent Bittrex from selling my altcoins automatically? I don't see the "auto-sell" option any more.
click on Lab ---> Auto Sell.
Check whether you have enabled the automatic sale of any of your altcoins.

2) How do I buy altcoins again on Bittrex in the new interface? I don't see a way.
I love the old interface but there are few problems regarding the new:
The tokens/dollar value does not appear.
It seems that all your problems are in dealing with the new interface, this video from YouTube will help you interact with the site again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y8rYJns9sg

Oh that is a good video, thank you for sharing it. I was wondering why they no longer showed the dollar value for some of my tokens. I do have one issue I cannot fix, though,,, how do I force a coin to show up on my wallets list first? For example, I have to scroll to 3rd page every time I want to see my balance, can I bring it up to page 1, does anyone know? Old Bittrex had my coins listed if I hid the others, but I could not hide coins on my new screen now.
7880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The art of price predictions on: April 23, 2018, 12:23:44 PM
Let me tell you a secret. The art of price predictions is language and communications. Now take a look at the past big headlines about price predictions, both bull and bears.

Notice how very few of them use technical analysis. And even if they do, it is only circumstance with not much evidence other than the charts they want you to see.

McAfee made his prediction first, then others made charts for his model. So do not be fooled. Every prediction is a guess. Nothing more.
