8181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM to $10 Q1 2018 on: February 08, 2018, 05:25:13 PM
You just never know. NEM took a real hit with the hack on that unmentionable exchange in Japan, and they will be so embarassed that it happened as if they did not learn from the flaws of Mt Gox. But I believe this is one of those slow to rise coins, and the fact that it has dropped even more now and because of bad news makes it a really attractive LONG TERM investment. I am adding this to my portfolio this year. Regardless of the price. I have said it before anyway, and the news has not changed my mind.
8182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: KuCoin. Problems with the exchange on: February 08, 2018, 04:54:09 PM
Sorry to hear about your problems. I have been very fortunate thus far in all my experiences with various exchanges. When I run into problems, I usually get some help eventually, even if there is mostly a long delay and nothing I can do about. Now, just keep persisting, every 2 or 3 days, always use the same reference number so they do not get confused. And be polite, do not be rude. I know how you feel but trust me if you are rude, they will keep you waiting even longer.
8183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: February 07, 2018, 07:57:51 PM
Yes I agreed and I believed that Dogecoin has a good future, having a big community in different nations by this altcoin is a sign that it has a better future. Moreover this is one of the pioneering coin in crypto world. Which means it is more likely trusted alts compare to amny alts here.

Completely agree with you, mate. Dogecoin is one of the oldest altcoins in existence. As such, it will have more trust than most altcoins which are new in crypto land. Having a good number of nodes and mining hashrate will ensure its survival in the long term.

Therefore, I believe that if Dogecoin is used among many people for their daily transactions, it will have a bright future ahead of it. Of course, Dogecoin could gain more traction if it improves in development and innovation. To make Dogecoin better, it would be best to update it to the latest Bitcoin's codebase to ensure it has the last improvements such as SegWit and more. Until now, Dogecoin hasn't faced any scalability issues but as more people begin using it, it will have no choice but to implement an upgrade towards its transaction capacity.

Maybe, the co-founder of Dogecoin will return in supporting the same. Or, perhaps there will be a community takeover to make Dogecoin great again. Nevertheless, no matter what happens with this cryptocurrency, it will be here to stay for many years to come. Just my opinion Smiley

Yes! Trust and loyalty are so rare in crypto, and there really is almost no community like Dogecoin. I mean, I was so sad when Exodus took off Doge support, but to see the devs and the community hit back in the reddit post, was a real boost to my confidence. Doge is strong, Doge is always close to Bitcoin development, Doge is here today and will be tomorrow because we are all using it!

BTW latest version already has Segwit but not yet beta because of... developers explain it a lot better. Something to do with Segwit poses some issues to Doegcoin's network. Guys, just check out github and reddit to see there is no need for community takeover. It is already alive just quiet.
8184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will you buy marijuana with cryptocurrencies? on: February 07, 2018, 07:13:25 AM
Why would I want to go to the hassle of paying $1 for marijuana with crypto, when I can just do that easily offline and without leaving any trace of it on blockchain? I still want to visit countries like Malaysia who do not allow use of that. What if somehow they gain access to that blockchain and can trace me to it by associating addresses? Besides. I might smoke too much if I get it like that. Better hold and keep my crypto so it goes x50, then I get 50 x more marijuana direct from the farm.
8185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash is going to $3500 by June on: February 06, 2018, 04:43:53 PM
Just as I was asking a friend yesterday where all the Bitcoin Cash shills had gone! Hope Roger Ver and gang can see now what happens if they kill Bitcoin (not that it is dead, just taking a break), that they really do not know what they are doing with BCH. But sure, BCH will again be $3500 when Bitcoin is back at ATH. Try to get to 20% of Bitcoin first, then you can talk about scaling new heights.
8186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A little good news on: February 06, 2018, 12:29:28 PM
Individual payments in crypto doesn't mean much on a global scale. You will always find someone willing to take crypto. Even for something big as a boat.
What governments are doing is much more important than what a single individual is doing.
What is your country? Weren't the floating piers in Greece?

Do not underestimate these little pieces of individual Bitcoin use, small or big, they leave behind a mark and set a precedent. Remember pizza day? If some guy never bought 2 pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins, several times, maybe it would have taken longer for people to attach value to Bitcoin. It is still remembered today as the first real transaction involving Bitcoin. Maybe one day people will remember that boat purchase in the small country when everyone is using it.

What goverments are doing is one aspect, but Bitcoin survives and thrived before any government knew about it, not because of policy but because individuals used it.
8187  Economy / Economics / Re: How can you manage potential losses during a crash on: February 06, 2018, 08:01:13 AM
I do not really have the solid numbers but I feel it is not a good strategy in the long run,,, especially since I use the charts of a couple of coins I look at. Imagine if you did this at the start of the "crash", you would have kept buying coins as they got lower, and by now ran out of funds as the prices kept going lower. Of course, if they all rise again, then you suddenly become a genius for making more with each rise. But the real genius would have been the one who used stop losses, and bought in at the very bottom.

Stop losses are the only way to limit and manage losses.
8188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This day will be remembered as collapse of cryptos and alts on: February 05, 2018, 06:06:42 PM
Well, perhaps this will teach people the lesson that you cannot just create something like Tether and not expect it to fall down. Pegged currencies, pegged crypto, and centralized to the maximum. Beware, there are even more crypto projects now wanting to do the same thing (pegging values down). But when you create something and give it instant value, it becomes a fire you cannot put out later on.

Hold tight everybody. Let Tether get its fall, and crypto will climb back up again.
8189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: February 05, 2018, 11:44:49 AM
Interesting to see how much has changed in the six weeks since this post started, yes? Minus all the crappy posts that do not mean anything of course. Written at a time when Bitcoin was on a crazy bull run, today it is below the price it was when the posts started. I can imagine on January 1 we had the doubters and today in February the bears will be smiling and telling us all that they knew this was coming. I think the reality is that 2018 is going to be a struggle for Bitcoin to stabilize. It had such a fast 2017 it has not settled down to understand what is going on around it. I have high hopes for Lightning Network. If that works out, we will never see a 100k mempool again.
8190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano knocks off BTC's Crown on: February 05, 2018, 09:32:36 AM
No my friend ico coin will mever surpass btc. Bitcoin has a natural growth and we got it from mining and i dont think any ico coin out there will surpasses bitcoin. Bitcoin is king of crypto and will be always king. The pioneer of thia industry even if the bitcoin tech is obsolete but many people will think about bitcoin if they talked about cryptocurrencies.

And that is actually a fact. And let nobody forget that Ethereum is an ICO coin. So whatever people say about Ethereum building and such development and marketing done. Hiring great developers, going to conferences and promoting the platform, remember that they started by raising millions, got hacked, reversed the blockchain and here there are today. Cardano is no different. Nobody worked on it for free, all the ICO money is the one building the hype and getting the community interested.

Bitcoin's crown is there and cannot be taken away, not by price not by position in market, not anything.
8191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone seen this crazy white paper? I need some advide...plz.. on: February 04, 2018, 09:37:14 PM
OK. First impressions. First few posts here are from new accounts, one claiming to be a programmer. Shilly responses if you ask me.

Secondly, the whitepaper has a .docx.pdf extension, which is just sloppy for me.

Thirdly, I know my English is not the best. But even I wonder if the founder's ending note means nothing: LIBERATE IN VERITAS. Liberate is english, veritas is Latin.

As the intro itself was confusing, I did not proceed except to pick out this funny phrase: "shatters the boundaries of confinement that obstruct human potential". Yes, someone please use this project and let me know how your potential is no longer confined.
8192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal to build a crypto currency without ICO on: February 04, 2018, 07:04:41 PM
I think an ICO is a must for launching any new coins. If you launch a coin without an ICO I don't think there will be much people who would like to consider buying your coin at all. Where as, after an ICO your coin's demand might rise. So I don't think it is a good idea, and you should conduct an ICO, or else your coin might die and your money would be wasted.

You are the reason for this crazy ICO trend. Plenty of new coins launched in the past without ICOs, I own several now, Bitcoin is the most notable. Even Byteball is something I am very proud of, yes it was an airdropped coin (on Bitcoin balances) but its development is superior to so many ICO coins. Or look at Litecoin, or even more recently raiblocks (now Nano). Wonderful projects, wonderful communities. And they are doing so well in price (not that it is a problem if they are not).

Usage, tech. Those are important. Not price.
8193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best competitors to Ethereum? on: February 04, 2018, 06:01:47 PM
Ethereum found Vitalik said himself last year, the competitor to Ethereum is Ethereum, the successor to Ethereum is Ethereum. All the others who want to compete and bill themselves as Chinese ETH or Korean ETH should really look at themselves and ask, why are we competing with the victor? Why not differentiate and let the users decide what is good for them? Performance should speak for the product, not marketing. But that aside, personally, Waves and Stratis. Not Neo, Not Ripple, those two far too centralized for my liking.
8194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Privacy Coin of 2018? on: February 04, 2018, 01:40:00 PM
It must be DeepOnion , so what is the reason?
1)DeepOnion has a very powerful community , it’s very important . Because it can get lots of support and I have never see so strong community exclude BTC .
2)There is no ICO in DeepOnion . If you want to invent less money and get the largest benefit , it’s only the deepOnion ,join in us airdrop . There are 11 rounds left
3)The growth of deepOnion.

Not so sure about that. It was a big community that keeps getting bigger, sure. But powerful one cannot say. The development is very much centralized. Half the community is there for the airdrop, and the other half will never be able to explain to you what deeponion is all about. Bitcoin's community is still the strongest, but second place DO? How about Ethereum, How about Litecoin, in fact even Dogecoin has a bigger and more loyal community. Deeponion users still have a lot to learn about what it means to support their project.
8195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Litecoin on: February 04, 2018, 09:14:25 AM

This further confirms that the future of Litecoin will not be good.

I guess in your spare time you are also a stand-up comedian.
Launch February 26  Zero fees to load, 1% to spend, cheaper than current available visa cards (most charge 3% some even more).
https://www.bitsonline.com/litecoins-payment-processor/

also
Litepay will be released in February.
Litepal is another Litecoin to fiat merchant processor to be launced in Q2/3
    AliantPayment will add LTC support
    Litecoin and XMR partnership(pending)
    Litecoin added to Zebpay
3 Marketing Initiatives (Alwayshodl/IG/Grandparents explain crypto contest)
It's only the first week of February.

Thank you for pointing this out. I knew Charlie Lee should not have announced his sale of Litecoins, even though it was a respectable and transparent decision, people would see it as a betrayal (but to me, he is now free from the burden of price and just focused on technology). He is not to be blamed for the price crash, the whole crypto world is down and Litecoin is no exception.

He made a promise to develop until it became its previous ATH, but I hope he stays even longer. I cannot imagine a better dev for this type of coin. Pure currency, that is the type of alt I like. Cryptocurrency, remember?
8196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: February 03, 2018, 10:07:12 PM
LTC will go into thousands, maybe this year itself. There have been multiple rumors of its getting
accepted as payment method on top websites so any of those news will cause a big rise in it. Also,
it tracks and outperforms bitcoin so bitcoin going up big should cause a big rally in litecoin too.

Well I would be the very first to be happy if that happens. I only have less than 10 coins, too shy to say exactly how much but I bought them at a very good price last year so even 1k is a huge, huge return for me. The rumors are probably going to be for sure since LTC dev Charlie Lee personally embarked on a big marketing move and his reputation will ensure Litecoin will make it big. Not sure if 2018 is the year for 1k, but a return to ATH is surely on the cards.
8197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: February 03, 2018, 05:38:21 PM
I wish I could be more patient with Verge. I bıught it early and dumped for quick dollars. It is good anon coin that has great backup from community. Safe bet to do here. Get as many as you can and hodl waiting.
Just hold on to it like what you're saying, this coin have a good potential, once all this bloodbath, FUDs over in crypto, i think this coin will have a say, we just need to buy more now and join the ride when it pumps.

I will try to forget that the first time I heard about Verge was thanks to McAfee. I am always a first user of Monero, even though coins like ZCash and Dash seem to have just flown past it. And now I have decided to add Verge to my portfolio, very hard to ignore the value at current dips. I still cannot decide from substantial reading if Verge is something for me to keep beyond this year, though. Maybe the type of people that seem to be promoting it are very different from Monero's community.

Maybe that is not important, maybe that difference is not impactful for short term. But yes, I have caved in to my own pressure and took a bit of Verge. Let us see if this coin's developers really are all they make themselves out to be.
8198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 3 Interesting AI ICO's to read up on on: February 03, 2018, 05:08:36 PM
I initially thought that AI ideas were very good, but then with so many of these projects coming up, the main questions to me are:

1> Which actually really have good AI? We as non technical persons cannot possibly identify which are actual AI and which are poor copies.
2> Which have actually computer experts developing them? AI is a very specific field, everyone thinks they can make it but to differentiate and make it effective, you have to have geniuses in the teams. How can we know?
3> Why are these projects not publishing their AI predictions? If it is so good, they do not even need promotion the results speak for themselves.
8199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Its over guys on: February 03, 2018, 01:59:50 PM
I do not in which world you live in to think that India's news will determine the end of days for crypto. Bitcoin is pushing back above $9k now, of course it will likely fall deeper again, but it is far from over, crypto is far from dead. You warned us two weeks ago, I hope to hear what you have to say 2 months and 2 years from now. I like the people who collect all these posts from 2010. I wonder where they are now and if they have changed their minds. Or do they live in bitter regret making new accounts like this hoping one day to prove that they were right for all these years.
8200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ripple ( XRP ) a good way to go right now? on: February 03, 2018, 01:13:46 PM
Anyone who got in at ripple yesterday at 70 cents is someone I am very very envious off. I was thinking to get some since I missed the damned wagon last time around but only took a small amount at $1. Was right to think it would go even lower but was not able to be quick enough to get in on the action. XRP is still a good way to go right now for sure, I do not see myself as a holder at all, but good value right now for a token the company will surely want to keep above a dollar, if not to push for two at some point.
