8601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin crash is imminent on: November 03, 2017, 08:32:22 AM
Bitcoin bull run is nearing its end, the steam is running out. Altcoins will rally after the fallout is all said and done.

BTC price at post $7,288

One lesson that is being taught, never underestimate Bitcoin. This year has thrown so much at it. All the way from the ETF failure, to the hardfork and splits, to the bans. And yet it goes ahead and climbed to 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, and now free past $7,000. I do not know if this is called running out of steam! Meanwhile, alts at first followed BTC up when it went to 3k, but then they are all lagging behind while BTC finds new space to run.

Alts will have their day but it will not be at expense of Bitcoin.
8602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [OMG] Palm Beach Research Group believes OMG may rise to over $700 per coin! on: November 02, 2017, 01:22:17 PM
Now I remember where I saw this name before. I got spam in my email from Palm Beach Group. In fact, it asked me to sign up for some free training, some free BTC giveaway which happens today, and a promise of a reveal of the next big thing. I guess now I know that coin is OmiseGo haha. Well, I have no knowledge about OMG, but the way the marketing does it with spam and using names like Vitalik Buterin and some super secret mystery guest that will appear on their free training today,,, I must say it smells strongly of manipulation.

Anyone else got this spam email from Palm Beach? The errors on their website are funny: Follow This Strategy to Rip Profits from the Crypto Boom. RIP indeed.
8603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin going on fire! on: November 02, 2017, 12:51:08 PM
This is crazy. My alts dropped 20% each just in one hour Cry Hope they will recover soon.
Does anybody know exact reasons for such pump?

You will be terrified to see my alt portfolio! I was already so down last two weeks when they went down more than 50%. Recovery happened after a few days, but well, you can see now that Bitcoin has reached an incredible new high and my alts are worse off than before haha. I really have to try to stop looking at them since I made a clear decision to just hold until they go bust or they somehow catch up. But hey, on the bright side, I have still more or less same fiat value.

Maybe we should not be surprised if Bitcoin crashes the 10k party earlier than 2018,,,
8604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex account on: November 02, 2017, 11:02:13 AM
hi
i'm looking to buy a Bittrex basic verified account from usa.
if anyone have one and want to sell it please PM me.
also if anyone know have to make a basic verified account (because obviosly i can't from where i live) PM me and i would be happy to hear it.
thanks Smiley

Hey there, just a big word of caution. Do not do this.

1. You successfully buy the verified account. Then you log in from where you are and Bittrex discovers you are not using a USA IP. They close your account and you lose your money plus the purchase of the account.
2. They never discover you but you can never withdraw your account when they ask for verification. You will be asked for recent documents, unless you keep buying from the original guy.
3. You get scammed by the account seller.
4. It is wrong to do.

Just open an account on an exchance that lets you. There are so many. Try coinmarketcap, search the markets for the coins you want. Visit the exchange and try yourself to see which accepts you.
8605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to earn Wave coin online without any investment?? on: November 02, 2017, 08:39:07 AM
The easiest way is to just buy some WAVES, get them onto the waves lite wallet, and lease them out. Very small returns of course, but over one year or more you can see you will earn a lot more than even some banks at the moment. There used to be a Waves investment scheme at yobit also, but at the moment funds have dried up. If you want, just wait for it to replenish. You can earn 0.1% for active investments a day, which is 3% a month. 36% a year is incredible profit to anyone.

Not recommending, by the way, only suggesting.
8606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: are bounty and signature campaigns successful? on: November 02, 2017, 06:57:04 AM
Yes I think launching bounty and signature campaigns mostly are successful because it draws more attention to investors to invest in their project. But of course it also needs a good campaign manager to work with and is more experienced to help the team attract investors too.
True, it all depends on the manager who is able to manage the bounty and signature campaign well, as a whole many projects can succeed by doing a signature campaign that can be managed by a professional manager who can invite many investors who can get into it

This is an accurate description and one that projects need to understand as well. A few now choose to run their own, which is fair and of course good to hear. But they do not realise the amount of spam and useless bounty hunters that encroach on the site. They are only there to earn stakes, as much as possible, for dumping at the earliest moment.

Good campaigns have a similarity in good managers who not only keeps participants happy but give good value to the project by ensuring quality members and weeding out the spammers.

Bad managers give a bad reputation to the project. This can be even detrimental to the ICO.
8607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about them WAVES!!?? on: November 01, 2017, 07:44:04 PM
We know waves is a best coin for long time holding. At present waves made there own wallet. And waves new platform use many ICOs.Though, waves price is very low now.But may be waves price are increasing end of this year.So i think it's a good time for buying waves.

Amen to that brother friend. I actually had no idea the support Waves had from the community here. I mean, I know I already like them from other channels, which is why I got in,,, besides actually loving their lite platform and everything the user interface does for me (on chrome too!). But looks like there are a lot of others who enjoy it just as much here, and all for long term holds.

About ICOs, though, I do not know more than a couple who use Waves. Not that it is a concern!
8608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utrust or Confideal on: November 01, 2017, 04:28:50 PM
Let me summarise a little bit, from what little I know. I am not going to invest in either, but if I had to choose, I would go for Utrust (but only because I seem to know them better).

Utrust:
1. Crypto payments, with consumer protection, speed, low fees. Paypal but better.
2. Aiming unbanked markets and merchants (so big new market?).
3. Buy back and token elimination for price control.

Confideal
1. Smart contract platform for businesses including SMEs. Think Ethereum but for biz, with arbitrators to settle disputes. Decentralised arbitration.
2. Targeting other platforms like EOS and Tezos.
3. Irish based.
8609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOVU only 3 mil cap backed by UK goverment and JAGUAR will be the coin of 2017 on: November 01, 2017, 01:59:05 PM
Other than the obvious shilling, a very brief Google breakdown of DOVU:

2.9 out of 5 rating on ICO rating from ICOBench. That's not even a B rating, with lowest scores for product and team. Take a look at the team, no one is a proper solid developer.

Jaguar/Land Rover is only backing the tech through their investment fund. Meaning they will use it, but who would not if offered?

UK government is NOT backing DOVU, it is backing Creative England, the fund that is backing DOVU. Very different meanings, people. Very different.

Not dissing the product. Just saying do not buy the hype.
8610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES will get 50-100X in a short term. Yes It is possible becasue... on: November 01, 2017, 11:53:33 AM
My theory seem to be getting more and more reasonable with this bearish move  Grin

Don't worry about Waves. In 2018 Q1 we will see ETH effect on Waves.

Just HODL!  Cool

I am a WAVES supporter and holder. Several hundred dollars worth when at around 100k satoshi, but I think what you originally said three months ago is still true today and will be true for many more months. Apart from a couple of profittakers, I think most other WAVES holders like me are in the same boat as you. We see the potential for this great platform, we actually like this platform, and we have no qualms about waiting for 2018 and 2019.

I bought in yesterday again just a tiny bit more at 55k satoshi, to sort of of soften the blow of my curreny 50% losses, but I will keep buying at this bear market.
8611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 01, 2017, 10:07:50 AM
What is the need for 'replay protection' if it is gonna use another protocol? I don't get it?

Anyone want to explain what I'm missing?

On a side note: We are gonna see a crap load of forks of BTC imho, why make an ALT from scratch, when you can call it a bitcoin fork for more crypto street cred?

The new way to flood the market with spam/scam/alt coins

Actually, now I am completely lost too. According to their blog, it is still a fork, since they already set a time or block height for forking from BTC blockchain. So now,,, they are implementing a new protocol, on the "old" chain. Then they do not need replay protection? But since they are doing it anyway this clearly means it was a fork.

I know I am not a technical person but I thought I understood some of the technicalities with BTG.

You are right: 2018 will be the year of BTC forks. Who knows, even BCH, BCG and Segwit2x will themselves fork.
8612  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Coinpayments.net Signature Campaign 🔥 | on: November 01, 2017, 06:48:53 AM
Oh, it will be a shame if the campaign ends so quickly! But Lauda, thank you for taking care of us, even if I only joined last week. Few campaigns run as smoothly, I know because I have been in one very poorly managed one.
8613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin is easiest to mine on: October 31, 2017, 01:42:39 PM
I do not know the best place to look, but you usually can just search the ANN threads for the newest alts, especially those that are Scrypt based. Since you do not care about profitability, there will be plenty of coins you can just mine lots of with simple desktop power.

If you are concerned about price at some point, then I suggest you download Minergate. You do not have to use it, just choose the "mine most profitable" option, and it will show you the coins that give you the best output/value. Most of the time, this is Monero.
8614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CCTalk.io: A Forum for Professionals, made by Professionals on: October 31, 2017, 10:31:04 AM
Hi. Just wanted to say that it does look like a nice forum, at least different from the others who look almost like they just clone copies of Simple Machines Forum or some other BB style format. I would say this though. If you want a real forum for professionals, you would have to make entry a bit more complicated.

At the moment, as you can see from this thread even, people are asking for items that really are just amateur. Bounty campaigns for example? Or even a troll box? Not that I am dismissing these things completely, but I think you yourself can see that if you only attract bounty hunters and trollbox people to push and shill their coins, then you end up using all site resources for people who bring little value to the forum in terms of constructive.discussion.
8615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ❄️✨[ANN][ICO]SINTEZ - Global Digital Economy Platform of Smart Investing❄️✨ on: October 31, 2017, 08:35:09 AM
I am a little interested in this project, just saw this now but am slightly confused here, hope someone from the team can help clarify. One of the main goals for Sintez will be to create a stable global currency. But is this not already Bitcoin's goal, as difficult for us to see happen quickly, it is slowly heading towards that? Or is Sintez aiming for its 1 billion tokens to be this currency?

Because it points out the problems of a centralized economy globally, yet has plans for a global currency and a global bank. It does not seem clear how this strategy works out.
8616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: No supercomputers---Thank me later. on: October 31, 2017, 07:03:50 AM
Nothing wrong with buying into a bubble especially when you can read the signs

Exactly right. 99% of people are into crypto for profits, including OP, hence his tirade against some coins and for others. If it is profit you are after, go ahead and try and catch the wave of the hype and get out before the bubble pops.

But seriously, dismiss every "supercomputer alts project" simply because we already have BOINC and Ethereum? I do like boinc very much but if there could be something better, why not?

I did not take it seriously, but I was neutral until I saw OP promote Waltonchain.
8617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is DogeCoin even worth buying? on: October 30, 2017, 04:37:22 PM
I see a large amount of sell orders for DogeCoin, and from the looks of the Bear charts, DogeCoin looks like a dying currency. If I was looking for a "long-term" currency, DogeCoin is the one I would avoid...?  Huh

Interested to hear the community's thoughts on this?

Dogecoin has always had huge sell orders on any orderbook of any exchange I have experienced. This does not to me look like bear moves, even when the price was well over 100 satoshis several months back. Earlier in the year, developers claimed to try and work on Dogecoin a bit more, with hopes of reviving it. There has been no update as of yet, that I know of, so to me that means the real news will be coming round the corner.

Maybe you will call me an idiot, but Doge is a great value buy now below 20 sats. I still believe it can reach 100 again. Fiat wise, it has only gotten very stable at $1 per 1,000 after pumping. This will still grow and is a great part of my portfolio.

Their community is nothing but diehards too!
8618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO's tech is better than that of ETH? on: October 30, 2017, 02:50:09 PM
The transaction throughput of NEO is measured up to about 10,000 tx per second. Right now the transaction throughput of NEO is said to be 1,000 per second. We all know that the transaction throughput of ETH is only 15 tx per second. Does it mean that NEO's tech is better than that of ETH?

Technology simply cannot be measured as better or worse in every case. Transaction speed is just one factor, and if that were the case, then VISA has better technology than any crypto on measure of speed alone. In a more specific look, the ability of a crypto network to scale according to growth/usership is the measure of how flexible and agile the technology is. Bitcoin has its problems, but not because of tech, because of the design of upgrades. ETH has less problems because leadership is clear and accepted (they also have disagrements, however!).

NEO we can only judge if and when the network ever gets to a size it needs to scale.
8619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nova Exchange is Closing on: October 30, 2017, 12:40:51 PM
This is quite sad news, to me. I do not use Nova Exchange anymore, but they were among the very first exchanges I used in the very beginning since they were easy to open accounts with, did not need verification, and had support for a lot of alts that I could not find anywhere else.

But I am glad to read that this is not just a closure, but a means to pave the way for the new management. Hopefully, this will also include skilled developers and a great support team,,, you know, so we do not worry about wallet failures and 20 days to get a reply from support!
8620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: are bounty and signature campaigns successful? on: October 30, 2017, 10:42:46 AM
Yes and no. Without promotions, a lot of projects will not be getting the exposure they need to succeed. This is not even only applying to ICOs, where you require interest and investors. They key for projects is support and usage. This starts with a community that knows about the project, is interested, and uses it. Whether it is to raise funds or just to get people to use your idea/platform, this has always been the case for new technology.

Bitcoin used faucets, giveaways, and just people and organizations to talk about them.

Signature campaigns and bounties incentivize people to talk about and share/spread the project.

If you look at the successful ICOs and the developing projects, many had very big campaigns right here in bitcointalk.
