8861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN][PoSToken]World's First PoS Smart Contract Token[2nd ROUND AIRDROP LIVE] on: September 25, 2017, 07:04:07 AM
I did not even realise there was such a token until I was informed today in a chatroom, I will definitely sign up for this. 80% completely distributed, and fairly without ICO. What is not to like? Smart contract on Ethereum PoS. That is special and unique in itself. Definitely will be a long term coin. If you have even 100 tokens at it hits the price of GBYTE, you will be a very wealthy holder in 2020 Smiley
8862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All altcoins dumping at the moment. on: September 25, 2017, 06:17:07 AM
Ah, all the noobs using the word "dump" indiscriminately.  Please stop it.  I've said this over and over:  "pump & dump" refers to a scam.  That's it's only legitimate use.  When prices fall, they fall, and when they go up they go up.  Something doesn't "pump".  Every time I read that, it's the most moronic thing ever.

I have one sharp eye on the altcoin market, and it looks like stuff is rebounding a little.  Go to Yobit to gamble away on the altcoins.  This OP is a few days old, so shit that was blasting upward is probably getting slaughtered now.  It's all a game for fools to lose their money on.  That's the only logical way of looking at it.  You ever going to spend these shitcoins on something tangible?  Hell no you're not.  They're worthless pieces of p&d schemes.

Good point. People keep saying pump and dump. Pump to the moon. And everything dump. Also, everything red or green is something I hate to see.

But one thing here. I thought dumping originated from stock exchange vocabulary, no? I hear even on TV like Bloomberg news, people talk about dumping shares to take profits for the weekend.
8863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Large Book Order on: September 25, 2017, 05:57:43 AM
Sorry to disappoint you but that is not a large order at all. Even 3,000 ETH these days will be eaten up so quickly. If you want to see what a daily volume looks like, just check out Markets at coinmarketcap. Look for ETH and look for the pairs trading at GDAX. And GDAX is not the biggest volume either for ETH.
8864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Authorship (ATS) token is a scam on: September 25, 2017, 05:35:20 AM
Let this be a lesson to new projects, especially if you want to run ICOs. Do not do referral bounties. Or at least, do not make them so high and attach monetary value to it like $10. If you insist that this is a good marketing strategy, then please cut off the fraud from the beginning, not at the end. Actually, if you think this is a good strategy you are wrong. Do you want people who want your product or people who want your $10 referral tokens?

8865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to Tether? on: September 25, 2017, 05:19:19 AM
How do you all on this thread feel about tether a year later? Bitfinex is the largest exchange and I don't see why they would want to forfeit that position when they've seen the repercussions.

Does not and should not change a thing about how we should all treat exchanges. No matter how big they get. No matter how great and trustworthy they seem to be,,, never trust any of them with your funds. We all know they will do their best to hold their promises and backings for Tether. We also know this is only true until their business sense stops.
8866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which are the upcoming ICOs with working product? on: September 25, 2017, 04:53:07 AM
With so many ICOs flying around, can someone give a hint which team already has a working product and then launching an ICO, instead of the other way around.

Enjin is one that I really like for this reason. It has 18 million active users. 1.3 Million of them have already opted in to using the EnjinCoin when it gets released. They also sold out their huge presale which is a great sign. I missed out on it unfortunately but their ICO is coming October 3rd and I will not miss it.

This is the type of projects ICOs should all be. To all devs, do not use ICO to get empty promises fulfilled with money. Surely all things can have a start. Look at a few big ICOs, no base, no start just "great devs". I think from now on I only look for projects that have product. We know it works.

Also, CarTaxi, check it out.
8867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Switch to BTC from LTC? on: September 24, 2017, 08:14:28 PM
I diversified out a percentage of my holdings to Litecoin recently, when it was about the same price as your $80. I was very happy when it almost touched $100, but then realised the same would have happened if I held my Bitcoin. Then the big dipper happened.

Bitcoin seems to have recovered, but not Litecoin, unfortunately Sad But I still have strong faith in this unique alt. Now seems a good time to buy more, but I do want another alt to have in my portfolio.
8868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: proof of stake, proof importance, signature, autority on: September 24, 2017, 08:02:52 PM
NEM's proof of importance sounds like the real fix to the problem of expensive and non-nature friendly mining. Yes, proof of stake also solves this problem but then it still creates riches for the biggest holders and problems of no value. But with proof of importance, you can still be a priority if you perform frequent transactions and connections that are good for the ecosystem. That is very fair to me.
8869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrop on: September 24, 2017, 07:42:41 PM
Despite the bad press of airdrops with new altcoins, this is most recently because they are actually bounties given for simple activities - posting a Tweet or simply replying with addresses from newly-created coins. To me this is just a form of marketing and does harm the price and value.

But airdrops in the past were a way of trying to create fairer distributions. Some devs didn't like the ideas of premining or holding tokens in ICOs that forced people to buy them.
8870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CHINA UPDATE: The news China doesn't want you to know. on: September 24, 2017, 06:38:07 PM
I don't believe the mining ban will happen. I also don't believe they need legislation to do it, they can find existing rules or just express their displeasure.

Only suicidal idiots would carry on.

I also don't see how some guy who works in finance has the slightest clue about the internal workings of the chinese government.

Remember, bans can be lifted. The Chinese government has so far enforced bans, which it later lifts, when it comes to Bitcoin and crypto currency. The bans are usually just to keep things stable while they do their work.

I too do not see the connection between a hedge fund manager and government news waiting for release. But that is exactly how connected people work, to be honest.
8871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kyber ICO on: September 24, 2017, 06:24:35 PM
One of the very rare tokens these days to rise immediately after the end of its ICO. Also significant jump of price, I might add. But what are you guys on about? Look at the price chart here and it shows nothing about this so-called 5x rise,,, in fact, it shows steady drop. Want to explain guys?

Also take a look at the volumes. Very thin in my opinion.
8872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs: What You Need to Know About Them - Interview with Anar Babaev, on: September 24, 2017, 05:56:03 PM
That is the only differentiation with the majority of ICOs, that you need their tokens to buy/trade for their services. But this is really not much different from some MLMs, where you need certain points or levels to buy some of their products, forcing you to collect or refer people. This is one reason why the authorities are concerned and see ICOs as pyramids or MLMs.

Worse, some ICOs issue tokens that you can do nothing with!
8873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will RPX ICO be successful despite of CHINA FUD ? on: September 24, 2017, 05:47:27 PM
In my opinion, it will be very successful. It is the first ICO from Neo platform. Red Pulse is based in Hong Kong and they will be selling the token and follow all the rules and regulations. They have also hired a team of Hong Kong advisors from a "Big Four" accounting and advisory firm as well as outside legal counsel to advise on the entire ICO process as per their announcement in the Slack.
Also they are only raising $15 million during the ico. Their Pre ICO was for 100 people to invest $10,000 and 7000 people applied and only 100 were selected from a lottery. There is a huge demand to buy RPX and as we all know more demand more price.

Red Pulse looks like it will be at the very least a moderate success. There is too much riding on it for it to flop, so people will step in to intervene (set up accounts to "buy up" ICO) to prop up the stats. And do not fall for the Big Four nonsense. They have all been in on scams themselves over the past years. Of course, it makes it credible. Just do not take it as a guarantee of anything.
8874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the current Mysterium spike pump or pre-pump? on: September 24, 2017, 04:07:42 PM
LOL, and another one, today is the Myst-in-the-news day Smiley
https://btcmanager.com/mysterium-decentralizes-vpn-services-promote-privacy/

And it seems that the increasing attention is also starting to be reflected in the price, which is rising again quite sharply.

I can understand the excitement but this still has to pass a real world test. Currently, there are at least three countries' governments I know that actively move to block content for internet users. This is China, North Korea and Iran. There could be more, but I doubt any are as active or as good as these three. If the project can show success in all these countries, even with small case studies, then I am sold.
8875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have $100; and I wanna turn to $200 in 10 days. What'd you recommend on: September 24, 2017, 03:44:05 PM
On one hand, you talk about math and risk. On another hand, you have a completely unrealistic timeframe of 10 days! If this "strategy" were at all possible, would not people all be doing it? Still, if you insist, then this is the way. Find a pumping group. Get comfortable. Discuss with them which coin you will pump and then join in. You should definitely double if the pump works or lose it all.

Personally. You can skip the trouble and go all in on a casino roulette. Black or Red.
8876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 6 Reasons Why Shift Will Become A Top 10 Coin In 2018 on: September 24, 2017, 03:25:50 PM
Now this is what I call interesting. How many of us can say we got into a coin at its beginnings, ready to profit when it hits $1 from a few cents? This is probably the reason that will appeal to a lot of us. The easy to use GUI. I know we all think we are experts and familiar with qt wallets, but you have no idea what a good GUI will do for the future of the coin! Javascript might also be the edge. Like you say, a lot of devs familiar with this.
8877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will be a market for coins used for online tipping? on: September 24, 2017, 02:30:05 PM
How will cryptocurrencies fare that mainly focus on tipping streamers and other entertainers online? For example, a coin with a function similar to Bits on Twitch, but with monetary value. Even if this market is small, I think it still has potential to grow as there are few coins that offer such a feature. The only one I can think of is 2Give, which provides a similar function. Are there any competitors you know of?

What I can say about the tipping "industry" is that it is very much alive and well. Dogecoin, despite all its criticisms, will continue to serve this main purpose. Just look online at any casino or place that allows Doge, and see people tipping it all the time. Even giveaways still do this. But considering purely "artistic" tipping, there are a few alts. Artcoin, if you must, is purely based on this.
8878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does such a coin exist ? (anti- pump and dump) on: September 24, 2017, 02:08:04 PM
Hi, this is my first post in a forum. The reason why I have registered is to ask a question...  I hear a lot about the pumps and dumps and how much it hurts the coins.

This is just an idea, and I haven't thought of a full algorithm, but I could do it too, and make some simulations.
Would it be possible to create a coin that, after every transaction from account to account, it increases the amount of coins available on the market?  So for example, if I put 10mil dollars into a coin, I get an increase of the same amount. That way, the coin price would stay the same.  To ensure that the growth is steady, the new coins should have a decay rate so that price of a coin has a steady increase? This way, it would be possible to increase the value of a coin once the dump occurs, so it would force people to HODL onto their coins.

Just wondering, and would like to hear your opinions.

I have personally only seen one alt with this sort of concept. It is only trading at Novaexchange and Yobit. But it is only successful because I think only 2 devs and a handful of miners are the ones just really propping up the price. It is not realistic in the real world. And it will surely collapse as soon as the holders want to cash out.
8879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lending Altcoins on: September 24, 2017, 02:04:16 PM
The way Poloniex works is that practically no-one puts in demands. Instead the lenders put in offers, and they get taken instantly.

You only see the demand side filled when the rates get really high and a borrower is trying to get their loan filled at a lower rate.

What I am realising about Poloniex is that you can often put in loan offers (for alts anyway) at even double or triple the available rates people are offering, especially if the volume is low. Within 48 hours, your loan will be taken. I cannot say why the reason is for this, but I think what you say is correct. You start the ball rolling, others beat your interest rates and then suddenly there is demand.
8880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2017 and WHY !!! on: September 24, 2017, 01:31:21 PM

IMHO, Onioncoin (look at my signature) it's a nice choice. Nice and strong community, good team and one of the most honest airdrop that I've seen. Soon that will be some interesting news about new features and it will be listed bigger markets.

Another one, Dubaicoin (DBIX) in it's in early stages of development, they have some troubles in the beginning swithing from btc to eth but now it seem that have resolved a lot of the early age's problems  Cool

I kow it has been a week since you said this, but I would like to say that DeepOnion seems to be a better option than a lot of those unfairly distributed "Tor" coins out there. Yes, I know that it is not a TOR affiliate, but it does not change the fact that it uses the tech. I agree about the community and team. No premine and no ICO, just honest spreads of the early adopters.
