Want to ask here again - are the smart contracts being released on Stratis Turing complete?
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: May 25, 2018, 06:32:28 PM
I don't understanding, the price goes down after Bithumb....

The strats released smart contract and price down, new big exchanges and price down.... manipulation in the price by whales?Huh?
Stop blaming normal market movements on whales. Stratis generally tends to be more volatile than BTC. This is just a normal market cycle.

I've been holding ICN since ICO and i'm very disappointed with how its panned out. Told we were buying into ownership of the Platform and would be rewarded with ETH dividends, instead we have funded the Iconomi platform, made the team very rich and got very little in return.
They've removed the whitepaper from their website on which they raised money from investors.

Yes we need masternodes to hit a home run still got my coins in a ledger wallet ready for the release Smiley$$$

We really need the launch of the masternodes asap, do it before the next bull market so there is time to setup the network for anonymizing bitcoin which will become THE feature people need in the era of full kyc on most big exchanges. Soon the standard procedure for using centralised exchanges will be deposit btc to anonymizer, withdraw to exchange, trade, then withdraw to anonymizer, then back to home base.

We all know bitcoin is unsafe to use for ALL purposes without anon capabilities, legal and otherwise, and stratis needs to be ready to catch this usecase.
Masternodes are definitely the most awaited feature by the community. It should help on multiple fronts - one of the first real implementations of TumbleBit that can be used by real users, an ability to distinguish from other projects, and a supply lockup.

New exchange, is not bad. But it will be difficult to grow in a falling market.
Play the long game, mate Wink

Good to see stratis price spike little bit in this red market.  Below 10$ is steal.  Price will spike more with btc stability, Anyway I am holding stratis from last year and I will not sell below 100$.
Short-term pricing depends a lot on the market direction of BTC and BTC's network dominance. Longer-term, Stratis is going to stand on its own success and failure.

Stratis ranked number 10 by the chinese

http://cyyw.cena.com.cn/2018-05/17/content_386493.htm
Well, at least we are ranked in top 10 in China Cheesy Now, if only China unbanned Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies!
Hah yeah, but makes your wonder what the real intention behind this is.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 21, 2018, 05:43:02 PM
I think most people use ethereum because it's the ICO machine. And eth devs are a dime a dozen. I think most do not even look into NEM at all. But that's starting to change. We are looking more and more projects moving over from eth, and new ones sprouting up on NEM almost everyday.

But that's something quite normal. ETH is branded linke the ICO institution of all Cryptos, and that leads to more and more people using it for their companies. Most likely the projects with limited developer knowledge just use ETH because a lot others do too and it´s an amazing  Buzz word for people not long  in the space. But you will notice more and more projects moving from ETH to NEM. And that are mostly projects with more underlaying quality
Can you name any project that moved from ETH to NEM?

Here is one recent example.

https://medium.com/nemofficial/from-ethereum-to-nem-the-case-of-tutellus-13dc4b80e5a1

There are a few projects with proposals appearing in Telegram which are going to switch or which tried ETH first and later adopted NEM.

This is no hate for ETH at all from my side but i am more than sure that at least 50% of the ICO Teams just picked ETH because of the laziness and the unawareness of the people they were trying to collect money from.

Thanks for that. Was genuinely curious, and this seems like an interesting data point that might point to a larger trend down the line.

Fortunately we stabilize around 0.0007btc, I hope we can have a big move in the near future, in Q2, because they will release the revolutionary product, TumbleBit service and masternode implementation.
Don't think those are getting released to production in Q2

STRAT will be at least $50 this year, I can almost guarantee that. And that will be only by natural demand of it, I didn't include the speculation and manipulation of the price so it could reach much higher values. ICO Platform will be the first that will create a great buying pressure on STRAT. Gluon and Beyond Global Trade are the first two verified ICOs that I'm sure will attract a lot of funds. As of my knowledge there are lots of other projects preparing their ICOs to be run on the platform. Don't forget that there is a cap of 400 BTC to be raised in bitcoin value, the rest will be changed to STRAT. That is a huge upside and a sparky information for investors. Wink
There are no guarantees in crypto mate, especially on such a short-term bet Cheesy
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: May 20, 2018, 11:25:50 PM
There are many other differences too (e.g. the scope of the DAO hack was close to 10% of the network). Ultimately, it is a community-driven consensus, there's no guarantee provided anywhere that if you lose money then the community will essentially bail you out. See the full discussions on the Github board and reddit threads if you're interested.
What is the point of going to gith hub or reddit its seems to me by hearing you talk they already made up there minds wtf Vatalik fund it will bee then.  Tongue
I don't understand your comment. In any case, since Iconomi has a stake in this (a really big one), they should release a public statement of their views.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: May 20, 2018, 04:03:56 AM
Yea so how is the parity situation different from the Dao situation?  My guess is that a very powerfull person was hit by the Dao like the son of a US army general would do the job to make the Dao people get a bail out. We parity people just dont have that kind of luck i guess.
No it was a NSA guy that made the lights of Vatalik’s house go on and off. (Im waving seductively at my phone camera as we speak let see what wil happen)

It's a matter of risk. No one should hold 9 figure wealth in a piece of software that hasn't even been audited. Whoever does that is in the wrong. The whole purpose of blockchains/smart contracts is you don't have to trust authority figures. That's why the code is public. Blindly relying on someone else's code is ok for small amounts, not for large amounts.

It is irresponsible for the Iconomi team to use code that stores literally hundreds of millions of dollars without even a proper security audit. They raised a lot of money in the ICO - they should have used some of that for the audit of the piece of code that is the backbone of the entire system. Asking the whole Ethereum network to fork due to the irresponsibility of a few parties is what the Ethereum community doesn't want to do, hence the debate in the first place.
Many other Organizations also did the same. I think it was due to the trust on 'Parity', that they used it without some audit.

Just saying, whole development of major Clients makes Ethereum less 'trustless'. Wink

we are all waiting the implementation of masternodes and then then the price will pump up again!

Exactly, any ETA for masternodes implementation? I remember we hit ATH in June of 2017, but after almost 1 year, the masternode is still not released.
The entire crypto market is in a bear market, and if history is any guide, will remain so for a while. Don't expect ATH anytime soon, until the market recovers. Always good to be proven wrong and pleasantly surprised, but hold your breath.

Harvesting is a long -term investment in NEM , and as the network reaches more and more users , you 'll see a ROI -whether you think it 's worth sitting on this 40 K for years to come .

Is there a % of return with harvesting?
NEM is non-inflationary, so there won't be a % return like some other proof of stake coins. Your rewards depend on the network usage and transactions, along with your importance score.

Sure lets call parity a incident just like the Dao “incident”, meanwile Vitalik zits in zwitserland Zuric in his million villa not having a fund in iconomi. I wanna open a fund in Iconomi and call it for the fun wtf Vatalik if the etherium community does not reverse the parity situation. Call me a conspiracy theorist but the Doa situation was needed and used to know what would happen to bitcoin/bitcoin cash the parity thing is just the next step to know what we will do and how we will react with the traped million bitcoins of Satosi Nakamoto. But lets not talk about why the exchanges hold icn while iconomi can be a exchange.

I for one like to call Parity and Dao coincidinks zo that everyone would understand Wink

This is good. I've gone through the announcement and the documentation but it doesn't say anywhere that the smart contracts on Stratis will be Turing complete. Is this the case?

Also, is there information on how the 'gas' costs would work on Stratis, i.e. the operations vs. cost table somewhere?

Best to join our Discord and ask the devs these questions -> https://discord.gg/9tDyfZs (channel #smart_contracts)
Why not answer it here so everyone can benefit from that knowledge? Are Stratis smart contracts Turing Complete?

Because devs are on Discord...that's what he said Wink
Well, wouldn't it make sense to have the devs answer and confirm on a public forum so that the whole community can know and get an 'official' answer? I can't believe I have to explain such obvious things in so much detail at times, people!

Wouldn't it be good for Stratis if they published negative news about eth being a security (in their opinions ) ? i mean , it could make some companies use the stratis ico platform
What? If the SEC rules ETH as a security, STRAT will be a security too. They were both funded via a public ICO.
