81  Economy / Economics / Personal Financial Goals vs Government expectations! on: May 03, 2024, 02:20:12 AM
Have you ever thought about this, what we are trying to achieve in our personal financial life is completely diverge from what the government expects their citizens to do.

We as Individuals always thrive to achieve financial independence in our lives especially someone who is from the average middle person but what the government expects from the middle class is different and is kind of surprising when we give deep thought about it, The Government highly relies on the middle-class tax payers for the money and most of the taxes collected in the form of indirect taxes so that people may not actually aware that they are paying taxes for everything from their salary, fuel, medicine, anything everything has taxes that eat most our earnings.

So as a result we are paying from 10% to over 50% of our earnings just in the form of taxes in one or another way. So one who really wants to achieve financial independence should find a way to reduce their tax pay legally like how the businessmen do.

Or like the bald guy says, we need to find a way to exit the Matrix. Cheesy

do you read the ToS of every service you use?
because this is not even possible nowadays

two articles on the matter here:

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/terms-of-service-visualizing-the-length-of-internet-agreements/

https://www.socialmediatoday.com/news/how-long-does-it-take-to-read-the-terms-of-service-for-each-app-infograph/577235/

nobody has time for that
ToS is usually to check specific parts of it or to check once you have a problem because reading before using the service is often almost impossible...
specially if you do it for all the services and apps you use.

Every platform, hell No. But when it comes to casinos yes definitely although I don't use every casino I see here or anywhere else but if I am interested then I would be gone through the most part or the least am I allowed to play here or now which is simply because I am risking my money here.

I led a minimalist life for a while now, though I am not aware of every ToS of YouTube or Instagram which I consume more often than others.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamers using demo account on: May 02, 2024, 06:08:27 PM
How true is this rumor? This is very popular on our local streamer comment section that streamers is just using a demo account with enhance winning rate on all slot games to showcase huge win while they are playing.

Streamers without sponsors will likely to create traffic by using a demo account but it won't take too long to notice whether the person is buying the slot bonuses or simply just making bets and showing the winnings cause people will most likely support the transparency when they are new to the channel.

Well, demo account or the casino itself sponsoring the thing is same, the streamer isn't taking any risk with his money that's the moral of the story.
84  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: E-devices suitable for backup storage of seed phrases. on: May 02, 2024, 04:08:11 PM
How about an old keypad mobile or even a new one without inserting sim cards be considered for this purpose?

I can find some keypad mobiles that are brand new and available for under $50 - and  $40 can do the job.

Availability is everywhere, we do not need to worry about the data stored getting deleted like calc and data dictionaries.

This seems to be a good idea if you ask me, the old ones do not have any internet connections and only come to live as when a SIM card is inserted, they can be used for the purpose as you can save messages as text on drafts. They are definitely below the $40 price. My only problem is you cannot switch them off for a very long time as they usually run into ba3 problem but it’s a good option.

I assume you're concerned about battery life, I used nokia that can lasts for days even with intermittent usage but he all it needs standby or even turning off and on won't be a problem which makes it highly reliable option in my perspective. I don't know the new era keypad mobiles are coming with removable batteries, if they do then I don't see any problem with them.

86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: May 02, 2024, 05:42:25 AM
Parlay can be the highest risky form of betting in sports betting, if you are asking me then I would simply cash out even the remaining two games could make the pot to turn 3x but all I will see is that I already made 12x which is convincing enough so let's not take any more chances and enjoy the money that I made.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Stagnant Salaries vs. Inflationary Savings Tax on: May 01, 2024, 07:11:36 PM
Any day A would be the one I prefer and let me tell you the reasons.

I don't have debts that make me adapt deflation better and can gain financially with the more money I can save if the prices of goods and assets are falling but for the country's economy deflation isn't a good thing, it reduces the cashflow in the economy, strain in your debt payment so people in the middle class again will be struggling to pay their debts.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 05:40:13 PM

I know casinos do this. I have experienced it too. It is also in their T&C. My question for casino lovers is that instead of waiting until we win big and are asked to submit KYC documents, will you do it before the casino management or administrator request of it? Is there anyone who has gone ahead to fill out and submit their KYC on their account or by asking their customer support for it way before they even start make a request.

I won't hesitate to do KYC depends on the severity of KYC details needed for the verification even with no wins at all but the site is reputed enough to complete it. But I also want to mention that even you completed your KYC on a casino before then after a while you win big that will definitely go through scrutiny process and might even asked to submit KYC and any other details if needed. So never ever think you will never be asked once you done.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: May 01, 2024, 04:25:21 PM
Most times we are caught in between placing our bets on our favourite teams to win and not there present form, this action according to analysis shows that it's one of the reasons some persons don't win a sport bet, no matter how hard they try, a team that's not in form or getting the results shouldn't be on your sports betting slip, because they might continue the poor run of form and hurt your ticket, a friend once adviced me never to put my favourite team on my ticket, unless they are in form, am a Manchester United fan but most times I bet against them as long as my ticket is concerned I don't have a favourite team.
The loyalty shown by the fans towards their favourite club is one of the thing that has been followed for very long which is also good as long as we are not losing any money for our love towards such sports. It's always important to think rationally and make bets based on statistics or just don't bet at all if the favourite team is not likely to win against the opposition, just show your support in the actual form not to some betting provider.

The boxers will get paid irrespective of their results but you ain't, and this is pretty much a known fact but we may not accept things at it is, so we just look for excuses to get away the mistake/loss from the view of others. Well what other's think doesn't really matter when it is our money we should know how to use it responsibly and the comment doesn't look that much irresponsible unless he bet the amount that he never intend to lose.
91  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Blockchain synchronizing issue.... on: May 01, 2024, 05:37:47 AM
To my surprise, the total sum of coins I found on Blue wallet was different from that on Mycelium, with about $70 short. I didn't understand what happened, so I cleared the app and reimported the seed again.

Can you ensure that your Mycelium wallet has no unconfirmed TXs or is fully synced to show the right balance? That's the possible logical explanation for why you see a difference when you import the seed into electrum or any other wallet.

Another possibility is when you use a different derivation path from the actual one but it will give zero balance instead of any.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 29, 2024, 05:29:18 PM
Every age category is onto the gambling not just now, it has been the case ever since I remember. Recently saw a news that a man lost around 6K while trying to bet cause the site is actually cracking the results and used bots on their own to create fake results in the leaderboards who might be in his middle 40s. Also I saw a teen aged 14 lost huge sum on betting platform which used to be debited from their parents account.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 29, 2024, 12:34:59 PM
KYC, for example, people who already have a bill and also their complete identity can very easily fulfill the requirements for completing KYC, but each country is different, in my country aged 18+ they usually don't have any bill, so it is difficult for them to complete KYC themselves.

The source of funds will not be asked at the time of KYC verification for sure unless it has something to do with their deposits, they don't need to have a bill like a credit card or utility bill but casinos accept any form of ID cards for age verification so one who turned 18 don't need to be afraid about their verification at all.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 29, 2024, 07:34:32 AM
I can't think of anything more profitable at the moment. Although I don't know in depth the income from online casinos.

However, to create an online casino, you need a lot of investment and be willing to pay for advertising and interact in a forum like this.

I don't intend to have an online casino, I'm more interested in having an e-commerce.

One of the factors that makes me believe this is that there is already a whole audience ready to play in casinos, as they are generally people who bet out of addiction, to make money (or even when they lose, they play just to pass the time). In addition to the fact that there are costs for servers, employees, online attendants, programmers and other costs, unlike physical casinos where the costs are for installations, maintenance, energy and employees and security guards...

Do they make more profit than digital banks, CEX exchanges, etc.?

Casinos are indeed profitable in general and they make millions/billions per year.

Q: How much money does an online casino earn?

There are tons of casinos that are publicly trading, so their earnings are available to the public. For an example, you can Google Betsson AB Quarter Report, and you'll see that they are ranging around 50 Million per quarter, but they are also a huge operation that eats a lot of money by itself. Smaller operations usually earn anywhere between 250.000 to a million per month, but since it's such a volatile market, you have to have a fat war chest for hard times.

If you have any questions regarding operating a casino then I advise you to shoot your questions in the thread where I mentioned because one who are part of it can actually give you a better response than some generic reply of this or that and you need lot of money blah blah.

95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profit evaluation – Hodl instead of mining on: April 28, 2024, 06:19:00 PM
Normal people would hire or call a computer specialist to set it up and whenever a problem arises, you need to call him, which will cause extra costs.

Mining is involved directly in Computer Technology and requires special technical knowledge most common people don't have, if not studied.

If that's what your expertise in dealing with gadgets and stuff then I won't recommend going anywhere near mining, in 2024 you need a huge capital to buy ASICs and set it up which is one time investment but for sure it requires regular maintenance and if you are going to hire someone every time that's gonna cost you a lot.

Holding and mining are totally different, and I wouldn't compare one with another but the point you are trying to say is right just buy bitcoin and hold them for years which is more profitable than investing on mining hardware.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making the Most of $100 bankroll on: April 28, 2024, 04:56:29 PM
I have a friend who is new to sports betting and he asks -
If his bankroll is $100 and he has been told not to use more than 5% of his bankroll per bet, what strategy should he use on this type of bankroll? His question is should he place $5 each on 20 different bets? Or is there a better approach that can be suggested?

If his entire bankroll is just $100 then I would say go with the bigger risk like $10 for a bet cause the favourite games might not have great odds so chances of rewards are also less. Or take the approach with minimal risk as you said if the only intention is to experience the bet not really the rewards.

For casino the recommendation can be simple, just bet $1 straight for 100 and let's see whether your friend is lucky enough to reap the rewards.

I am just bringing different perspective, what if Bitcointalk has covered everything and anything related to cryptos so there is no point beating the bush around again with the same topics when it can be found in the searches?

Another reason is people have their own life outside of bitcointalk, at once I lived 24/7 on Facebook probably in the year 2012 and around that period then things changed and now being at bitcointalk around years and I never know when I might leave, or here's my destiny ends. Grin
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 28, 2024, 09:47:50 AM
The legal age to gamble can be over 16/18/21 or whatever is enough for someone to gamble either in an online casino or by visiting a physical world casino cause adults are supposed to decide what they need to do and there is no point in asking for the experience if someone wants to start something new cause everyone has to start from zero at some point.

While registering on an online platform you will be asked about your age or it will be mentioned in the ToS.

In all countries and also gambling plates today, of course, the age of 18 years is the age limit for someone to gamble, but can it make teenagers avoid gambling so far?
I don't think so, because at this time I think many of the gamblers are underage because indeed they can trick the site by using fake identification cards to create an account on a gambling site, besides that when we open a gambling site and we are told to confirm our age, wouldn't we also mention above 18 years even though it is actually not, just for the sake of being able to access the gambling site page,  I think Tos and whatever it is that is required as a condition of gambling over the age of 18 will certainly not apply to those who are interested in gambling all this time even if they are under 18 years old.

I think gambling platforms only make Tos as one of the provisions that apply as a formal requirement and of course they also don't care who plays gambling whether they are over 18 years old or not because they certainly cannot control anyone who really wants to gamble and access the platform, so far parents should be the main supervisors for children to avoid gambling.

If someone chose to fake their identity then they are at the fault here not the platform because they made it clear only people above certain age are allowed to gamble and nowadays KYC is mandated to withdraw any money so that if teen is using their parents ID to bypass that requirement then they are doing the crime which is supposed to be supervised by their parents.

Casinos can implement much strict KYC standards like live verification but it's going to cost them their profits cause it is highly inconvenient for actual gamblers.

100  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: April 27, 2024, 12:36:12 PM

In my opinion, casinos should make a simpler TOS, something easy to read, something that doesn't tire people when they are reading. They could talk simply about the minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts. Then they would talk about VPN and banning many accounts, then they would talk simply about KYC, then they would talk very simply about bonuses and bets and their requirements. then they would put the list of restricted countries. They wouldn't need to have many long texts that are tiring, especially when it comes to accounts, bets and their requirements and the list of restricted countries becomes very tiring to read, because they write a lot and include the list of restricted countries. then they write a lot again and put another list of countries, then they do the same thing that makes you tired of reading. They focus a lot on restricted countries. and don't focus much on the betting part

It can be tiring to read wall of texts but knowing what's written there for the security of our deposits as well as rewards. It's good that you don't pick random casinos still I would recommend to read the terms related to games cause that's what the problem arises regarding claiming bonus or due to void bets or things like that.

Regarding the multiple list of countries, the primary one will be the users are completed banned from registering in that casino and other lists restricts from certain games due to the jurisdiction policies that prohibits gambling operator to provide that game to their citizens.

Most of the time the casino itself shows you are restricted to play this game but not always.
