141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 06:29:27 AM
The probability of recieving ace card or any card is just same so whether we lose or win the probability remains same that means we just have to conclude that it's just a coincidence which you didn't want to happen. This is part of the gambling and I understand there will be a slight suspicion in our minds when we go all in because we know the money is not that easy to make.

Restrictions can come from the gambling site itself or from the game providers. Generally, a gambling site has its own global restricted areas and it means all games on that gambling site will not be available for their restricted area list. After that, there are extra restrictions from game providers and a person who lives in a specific nation is allowed to play game A and other many games from a game provider X, but is not allowed to play games B and some other games from a game provider Y.

It's remarkable that despite so many restrictions many millions of people still find a way to gamble online when they want. I think maybe it's because people need it. To play those games, I mean. Not to make money with them, of course, but to relax from stressful life. People need it and that's why restrictions must be removed, in civilized world at least.

Gambling is one of the most done activity on the internet apart from *orn so it's not a wonder we see casinos crossing millions and billions bets mark in just a couple of years. The restrictions based on the legal status of gambling in a region so if people from banned region wants to gamble then they need to enforce the ruling government to make it legal. And in some countries it will not be revoked no matter what because of religious beliefs. So having a world where gambling is possible from every corner but atleast everyone can experience once in a life time when they move to other regions.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: The benefits of risk taking on: March 28, 2024, 04:25:02 PM
Risk is when a person is exposing him/her self to dangers, possibility of incurring loss or misfortune
So many people run away from business opportunities just because they fear they will run into loose and didn't want to take such risk
I have come to the realization that the word risk is part of life and that it is better you take part in it than not
From history it has been said that the great entrepreneur and business men/woman where all risk takers when you take risk you throw your self to the real of possibilities

I am the one who took risk and failed which costed me a fortune so what will be my State of mind take risk or just let it be and live the life with what you have got instead of ruining everything.

Risk taking is part of life but you don't have to do that mandatory and risk taking depends on individuals and their tolerance level which varies based on their financial status and how much commitments they got to do.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 02:44:49 PM
Hi,

There are always things that we are passionate about doing, such as video games, football, basketball, and sports in general, meaning that everyone has something that excites them and makes them want to do.
Like others, I get very excited when I sit down, take my phone, and start my bets. This does not mean that I am addicted, but rather I find it more comfortable and I have more fun.

Does gambling excites you? What motivates you, winning or just the fun in it ?

It excites me when I am winning but while losing I can't say I am excited. Cheesy

Nature of gambling is engaging which is what makes people to fell in love doing it and later they feel like getting addicted or actually got addicted to it which depends on how the individual manage their gambling urge.

Money is the obvious factor that motivates me to gamble but I have clear idea that I have less chances to make it which keeps me under the radar.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: March 28, 2024, 12:18:49 PM

If it is with KYC procedures then it would be a bit of a problem for the casinos especially those which are registered and those which are just following orders from authority. Many of us know why such procedure is being practiced in many platforms; avoid money laundering and accessibility to minors. I personally have no problem about it since I am doing it for years and fortunately, nothing happened so far which could put me in danger. Again, as I always say, choose the right gambling site that would lessen your worries while gambling.
Regulators doesn't dictate when to ask for KYC rather they just mention it is mandatory for everyone who withdraw money from the platform but the casino decides when to ask for verification. As I said how many people will be interested in completing KYC straight away when they register or would love to try the site and if the person feel it's worth getting verified then they will go ahead so as individual now which you prefer?
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: March 27, 2024, 05:01:19 PM

2.No sketchy policies like "perform KYC before withdrawal". KYC should be done before depositing money, not before withdrawing money.

Thank you. That's so right. My thoughts are also for KYC verification to be applied at the top-up stage. I think that this kind of practice would improve the user experience and be a win-win for both sides.

This can be a welcome addition that everyone will appreciate but its not so hard to understand that when KYC is mandatory we will be asked to get verified when we want to withdraw because that is when the gambling platform is responsible to avoid AML and asking up front just reduce the userbase because people want to try the platform first and get familiar before providing their personal details to the platforms.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monitoring sequence of btc transactions on: March 27, 2024, 04:02:13 PM
Me and my partner want to engage in a sequence of Bitcoin transactions. The first transaction involves me sending $400 in BTC, and the second transaction involves my partner sending me $900 in BTC. To establish trust, both of us are willing to deposit $900 in BTC into an account, which will be returned to us after the completion of the transactions.
How should we proceed? How do we find a trusted intermediary?

Using a trusted third party as an intermediary is just going to add extra cost to the value of your transaction which is a loss that can be saved if you can make a trustworthy trade partner and engage in dealing with him.

If you still need escrows then here are some threads

1.Recommended bitcointalk escrow services
2.Few Trusted Escrow Providers

Where I am confused is that why won't he stopped already? Those that are addicted to gambling that i knew get to this same level of losing everything and they make a U-turn in the end, what is keeping him imprisoned ? His mind? or he is already crazy? Or even a spiritual attack?

Addiction is a cruel thing that can make you forget everything and urge you to do it depends on the level of severity that needed to give the satisfaction feel. The root cause of his gambling maybe anything that needs to be identified if we want to set them free but obviously it needs professional medical help and probably rehabilitation to detox his mind and get him into the right mindset where he can differentiate what he is doing and why he shouldn't do it.
The first effort that can be made is to raise awareness that what ruins an addict's life is gambling. it will build the mind to force the addict to exercise control over his gambling activities.
This cannot be done instantly, the process must be quite long and gradual. support from family and those closest to you is very important. For anyone who has someone who is a gambling addict, don't leave them and try to support the addict within certain limits.

We can provide support but the one who is addicted may seek or deny the support which really depends on every individual and by that time we may get tired or don't know what to do further that is why it is mandatory to seek medical support as soon as possible when you feel that person is resistant to any other forms of detox his gambling nature. And once the person is in the rehab that is the period it is very important to show your support whether it's a friend or family that will help to shift his mind to new things and get himself off the hook from gambling addiction and this applies to every kind of addiction as well.

150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to track lightning network payment? on: March 27, 2024, 07:07:04 AM
I want to use lightning network because of the cheap transaction fee and fast transaction that it has, but I do not think it is possible for third person to trace it which will let me to use the normal transaction that can be tracked using txid.

Even lightning network transactions can be traced via hashes which are unique id for each payment but to track the hashes you need to provide payment channel information and hashes but it's never been as simple as pasting txid on an explorer and seeing the inputs and outputs since LN txs are offline transactions.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Disable and hide gambling videos on Youtube on: March 25, 2024, 03:54:05 PM
Your method can stop gambling ads but not completely and unsubscribing every channel related to gaming and gambling can be a lot of work or atleast for me so my recommendation will be just logout of that Google account in YouTube then login with another account that you haven't used to login, if you don't have just create a fresh one then subscribe to some channels that is related to music or others then you won't get gambling ads until you search gambling related videos there.
152  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Private miners, a ticket to getting faster transaction confirmations on: March 25, 2024, 01:32:44 PM
You need to understand no matter how much hash power we increase on the network the probability of finding the block is still gonna be random but on an average miners find a block in 10 minutes and this will remains same no matter what so your suggestion is not going to help anything but waste the mining resources.
I once had a transaction that took almost a week and was never confirmed, then I successfully got acceleration service from viaBTC and it got confirmed in less than an hour, now please educate me, isn't that a private mining service that got my transactions confirmed at such a limited time, and if this private service which I sent my transaction hash to included mine to their mining block at such limited time, is it not worth implementing locally to help host of others on the network?

Every miner can include whatever transactions from the mempool in the block they find but generally miners prioritise the TXs based on fee used so the waiting time depending on the fee used for the transaction and mempool status. What you did is not private mining, viabtc holds decent amount in the hashrate so they just gave 100 free TXs per hour to be accelerated and this also done just to promote their paid acceleration services.
153  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Private miners, a ticket to getting faster transaction confirmations on: March 25, 2024, 11:00:42 AM
People are not ready to pay in Bitcoin because the confirmation time is unknown.

Your suggestion to resolve is to increase the miners on the network so block can be found soon, is this what you are trying to say right?

You need to understand no matter how much hash power we increase on the network the probability of finding the block is still gonna be random but on an average miners find a block in 10 minutes and this will remains same no matter what so your suggestion is not going to help anything but waste the mining resources.

The actual suggestion can be adopting the LN so payments can be instant and cheap as well.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 25, 2024, 07:47:42 AM
Crypto has been known for anonymity. During the early stage, we like to promote it using the words "decentralized" and "anonymous ", and it's the main reason why a lot of gamblers have chosen to gamble using crypto to gain full privacy, but it seems like things have really change a lot now as gamblers are looking for a casino that are licensed while some casinos who promotes anonymous gambling eventually act like a fiat casino that requires KYC.

What do you think about this one, where is are we heading? And can we still consider crypto casino different from fiat casino?

The nature of crypto remains same as it was but since more people are using cryptos now governments and regulators drawn frameworks for operating a casino and this is why KYC is becoming mandatory on every crypto casino too but still it can give privacy not anonymity which is different from one another but we don't need to worry that much when you choose to play and get verified in a casino that took time to build it's reputation.
155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why are mining fees not refunded on: March 24, 2024, 04:52:41 PM
Since we are in a free market, the priority for confirming transactions is with the highest fees. Therefore, in terms of terminology, canceling the transaction must have a higher fee to ensure it will be included in the next block.
No. That's not a must.
If a transaction has been flagged as RBF and you replace is with a new one paying higher fee, almost all nodes will remove the original transaction from their mempool and it will the replacement transaction that will be included in the blockchain.

If you want your replacement transaction confirmed in the next block, you can pay a high fee rate so that it will be included in the next block, but that's not required if you are not in a hurry.
You can replace the original transaction with a new one and wait until the replacement transaction is confirmed.

If I am not wrong, when we do RBF or cancellation as OP requested we are not going to replace the transactions, we only create new transaction that means both the transactions will be present in the pool and one with higher fee will be confirmed and the remaining one will be removed by the nodes. Am I wrong here?

So if this logic applies to cancellation then having high fee is mandatory if we want the second transaction to be confirmed over the first one.
156  Economy / Economics / Re: Farming and it importance to the economy on: March 24, 2024, 03:41:35 PM
Farming is an agricultural practices that involves the cultivation of crop's and plants for the consumption of man either in commercial or subsistence ways

Unfortunately farming is now seen as a thing of the poor that no one wants to go into, even the government is not doing enough to support farming activities
Food is a very important aspect of society that any society that wants to make progress is a society that has eaten very well , infact the economic super powers are society's that have attained food security
Farming activities helps a nation economy grow as scarcity of food will lead to inflation of prices of food in the market
Government should do everything to make sure that people go back to the farm and create the right environment for farming activities

They can do that by granting interest free loans, Education of farmers and giving out fertilizer to farmers
Farming is an important aspect of every economy
Let discuss guys what do you think about farming to economy

Any country that doesn't have policies that supports agriculture is at the risk of famine even if they are financially strong they can't import everything needed for their people. And every politicians knew that but they are not giving much priority because it doesn't put much money in their pockets when they support agricultural activities of individuals so they are not giving importance to it like they do in other kinds that involves corporates.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always check the deposit address on: March 24, 2024, 12:47:24 PM
Isn't it weird that you have been using an address for a while and the platform changed the address without any of your action looks highly suspicious to me. You maybe given one new address after every successful deposit or you may be given one permanent address and it will be updated if it's mandatory like switching from Legacy to Segwit but it only happens after a warning.

Yeah right, It’s really strange to me that’s why it caught me off guard despite I’m a frequent gambler that usually copy manually my wallet address or check if I’m still using the current address.

This wallet address changes without warning is very dangerous especially that casino claims that they recover the fund out of good will meaning it was supposed to be lost. The only problem is the wallet change is done out of nowhere after I just check the address by myself before I made the loan here to verify that I use the address on that specific casino.

No reputable casino have such kind of actions towards giving deposit address as far as I know so you check whether they mentioned about their unwarned address change in their ToS and most likely it won't be there which means there is something going on and if you have alternative casinos then better play where you are comfortable instead of risking your money again there.

159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 24, 2024, 05:27:23 AM
But then, this got me wondering why a full grown person will gamble until he or she has no money left in his or her bank account, and no cash at hand, I personally have on several occasions gambled away every single cash I had at hand, but I always had some money in the bank to fall back on, together with my family.

I am just wondering if anyone here have ever been in a similar situation before? That is, gambling until you are completely broke with nothing to fall back on?
No money in the bank, no cash in the hand, what did you do?

Or maybe gambled until you are one bet away from going broke (if you lose), do you go ahead and risk the money, or cancel the bet and  keep that money for something more important?

From my understanding the person isn't addicted to gambling at all, he must be struggling with something in his personal life and thought gambling will give a break from it so he went on trying to make money or just to enjoy the time being but at the end it turns out to be as expected.

We can't be sure that we always on the right thinking especially when we are going through rough time periods.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 23, 2024, 05:07:57 PM
Betting on lower odd games may seem to be risk free approach on paper while it's not in the reality. As you said an underdog can beat champion sides that can change the whole dynamics of betting while it's not everyday scenario that stage of uncertainty and unpredictability keeps the gambling exciting no matter what and one who tries to outperform the system will taste the failure at the end.
Anyone who thinks in the line of thought that low odds are risks free is doing so at there own risk if they are gamblers and if they be adviser's it then means that they are giving out fake and falsely assumptions opinions, it lack the statistical data to complement it realities, because even though lower odds are given to the stronger team, it doesn't eliminate the chances that comes along the game.
I think a more flexible words to be used for bet on lower odds is to be selecting the stronger team and nothing more than that, but as long as it football, anything can happen within the 90+ minutes of the game

Not just in football, every sports that exists now can won by an underdog player/team that is why those are still exists or else people won't be interested in a sport that keep repeating the same results for a team.

One who sell the predictions for sports betting will definitely use such term like risk free but as a player it's our job to make sure it's really possible or they trying to milk more money by selling useless picks.
