82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Monero with CPU on: November 22, 2017, 03:57:08 PM
Hey Guys Im interested in possibly mining monero with my cpu on a laptop. I'm currently mining zoin but I heard you can mine monero as well with a cpu. Is it still possible to mine it and also does anyone know where I can find a how to guide for mining it with windows 10?

Thanks

Yes you can mine Monero with  your CPU but the issue is that in a laptop your cpu will be running at around 90°C most of the time and will be throttling, which will cause after a while your laptop to break down, being it either the power phases that would run over 120° for an extended of time or your CPU it self.

So my suggestion is that you don't use your laptop and look for a desktop, it's not worth being it in terms of income a few cents that will not offset the price of electricity and putting your laptop under stress.

If you have no other choices and you want to learn about CPU mining, You need to see if you have a fan controller and you can control your laptop fan speed with software such as SpeedFan to ramp up your fan speed high enough and to monitor the temperature. Also if your laptop is off warranty and you are used to open it, try to change the TIM with a better one and get more air to the components as well.

How many of you have actually seen "killed" by mining laptops? Smiley Although it's obviously far from optimal setup for mining, how the hell do you kill a laptop with it? When the temperature rises above certain point the CPU will just start throttling. If it's still not enough and the temperatures are too high it'll just shutdown. It's not 1999 anymore, you don't just "kill" hardware with overheating. If you mine with your laptop long enough, your thermal paste and thermal pads will need to be replaced a lot sooner than from normal use, and your fans might eventually need to be replaced, but you still won't kill your laptop and it's very similar to regular mining rigs where fans also die, especially on cheaper GPUs with sleeve bearing fans (= gigabyte amd rx series).

I have a couple of laptop failling on me not from mining but from numerical simulation such as CFD or thermomecanical simulation, leaving my laptop doing the calculation for a couple of days, resulated after a couple months of dead laptops each time, that's when I coincided to never invest in a highend laptop, and got my self a good desktop and an ultrabook so I do the simulation on the desktop and export the result to the laptop for the sake of presentations for example
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: vega 56 or vega 64 for generic alt coin mining? on: November 21, 2017, 10:38:34 PM
If you can find a Vega 56 at MSRP just go with it but it's going to be hard, Here I've been looking for a 56 at MSRP for over a week and no luck so far, The price of the 56 is around 520€ that's very close to the 64 price that it doesn't make a good buy right now, I was hoping of getting a deal with the black Friday week here but so far no luck.

Anyway what can one expect as a revenue from a Vega 56 or 64 mining 24h, without the electricity cost, is a better buy than say 2x RX 570 or 580 when it come to mining ?

Are non-reference going to be cheaper? Right now the cheapest Vega 56 I can get is around 450 euros (tax included).

Where ? which country ?, MSRP here is around that price, but you can't get it at that price anywhere it's always out of stock here, Unless you are willing to pay a premium it's not available.

86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: November 20, 2017, 06:26:47 PM
Trading is better than Gambling because when you are trading if you do your homework properly, the success percentage can be as high as 80% or better so theoretically and statically speaking you are more prone to success trading than Gambling, Gambling your chance of winning is less than 50%.

But yes I get the whole point of the question because sometimes Trading is similar to gambling.

88  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC? on: November 19, 2017, 12:56:09 AM
I think the best way to achieve this goal is to present Bitcoin as an alternative to credit card or paypal, presenting as something really progressive secure, and with all the advantages that Bitcoin have.

Also the best thing to talk about is the cost, aside from the fee for the transfer there is nothing else

Reading the ANN and other articles about P2PSF before applying but just wondering is the  0.001BTC payment correct ? I mean the fees would be about the payout It feels like it should be 0.01 per week
90  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Amazon accepting Bitcoin - What can go wrong? on: November 18, 2017, 10:44:16 PM
A company like Amazon using Bitcoin would be huge because not only it is the biggest e-commerce/retailer in many countries it has many other service such as AWS ect so it will push the adoption of Bitcoin by the average joe several folds, But there are several issues such as the votality of the currency and regulation and nowadays fees and confirmation issues. (although amazon them selves could speedups the confirmations)

In France there is no Bitcoin option heck they just started accepting 4x payment a couple of days ago so we are far from having bitcoin as a method of payement here

Anywa for me big companies accepting bitcoin would render Bitcoin as popular as paypal in my opinion.
91  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Android Spy App - Earn 10$ with each sale on: November 18, 2017, 02:47:25 PM
I have a couple of questions

Is there an iOS alternative?, since you are talking about rootaccess and permission I guess right now it is exclusive to Android
If the answer is yes to the question above, can it be installed remotely ? or do you need to have the other person phone hand ?

As for the price isn't a tad expensive a quick search on google shows other apps with more functionalities (but tbh can't trust  those apps )

Is there an iOS alternative?
No

can it be installed remotely?
NO u cant install this app remotely,u have to upload this app on a file host and send it to your victims and this app does not require any root access

Ok thank you for the reply Smiley

93  Economy / Services / Re: renting my origin account on: November 18, 2017, 12:28:57 PM
If the account had a dozen of game it would have been interesting since the person that will loan the account will have access to severals games

But here you are offering an account with a 4 year old game that cost less of what your are asking for (found keys for 5€s on the internet, and I'm not even going to talk about old physical discs

I think you should review your price or enhance the value of the product your are offering
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price behind ethereum price value in the future! on: November 18, 2017, 11:47:08 AM
Doubtfull it will ever happen, at the end of the day Bitcoin is Bitcoin and ETH is just another altcoin, it reminds me when there was a strong parity between Bitcoin and Litecoin, what can happen tho is that Bitcoin will become impractical to use do to the coin limite hence increased price, scarcity, fees ect, it would be like using à 1000$ money paper with huge fees whenever you wana use it, vs using change or small value money paper for your every day stuff
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: November 18, 2017, 04:31:24 AM
Gambling is about statistics, if you gamble long term you are going to just lose your money especially if you don't choose the best games/websites, only gamble what you are willing to lose, and everything should be done in moderation. Well gambling can be fun but addictive hence it can help you forgetting about other stuff and problems in life, it also but remotely, can help you make a fortune if you are lucky enough directly, but the way I see gambling can really help is by investing in a gambling site
96  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for scouts on: November 17, 2017, 11:55:14 PM

97  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What happened ? on: November 17, 2017, 05:03:52 PM
It is a normal thing. It happens for some reasons. It is really a test of patience. Time to buy.
Bitcoin has always been a test of patience. Buying, selling or hodling all requires some level of patience as well as some smart moves so you do not miss the right chance. Most good traders are really having a good day right now with the movement and recent corrections in bitcoin. I for one, I am so happy. Correction normally is needed to sustain the market and one can always make the best use of them.

Waiting for 10000$.
I am still very optimistic about this $10000 this year or may be something close by the end of the year. Now, that we have broken one major resistance and trying to hit a new one, then the chances of hitting $8500 at least before the end of this month may still be very possible and adding up together, at least $9000+ should still be possible.

While I believe 10000$ is possible, I don't believe it is a sustainable price due to the fact that bitcoin is gaining to much value very quickly and hence there is a balloon effect and it may pop up if this keeps going on, I believe a more sustained increase of price is preferred than the current frenzy.
98  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking To Start A Small Business With Bitcoin on: November 17, 2017, 04:59:26 PM
Starting a business no matter what the scale is a hard thing, and you'll need to plan every single detail. Do you have any skills in a domain/field in particular or something your genially enjoy or interested in? if you do so, you need to study that market, check out the demands and offers do some benchmarking if all is green then go ahead, the idea is to always start small to test out the water and never go all out.

Here are some ideas for investing :
Category one 'material'
- Hardware, computer hardware, smartphones with repair service, mining hardware with set up service ect ect
- Food, Food is something that always work and one of the safest things to do
- Clothes manufacturing for others if you live in a country where the labour is cheap
- Real estate

Category two Immaterial:
- Investing in different assets being it related to cryptocurrency or the classical way.
- Building a service website, if you have an idea for an added value... ect

Come on man, it's just 15k, it's not worth your life, no matter what amount of money it is because as long as you are alive and in good health you can always make money as long as you are willing to work for it. Seriously life is about the ups and downs, if we were all having the perfect life, it would be really boring and not worth living because things like success or achieving something won't have any meaning
